Easy going people with great beers. Seating is inside and out. Stop by and grab a drink and chat with your friends.

I went here with a couple friends, but couldnt do a tasting due to an upset stomach. The lady working the counter brought me a glass of elderberry bitters to soothe my stomach. When people go above and beyond to be nice, it really makes an impression. The rhubarb liqueur was particularly good according to my friends. Tastings are also only five dollars, plus a complimentary glass.

I agree with a prior review. We were in Portland visiting for the afternoon with another couple. We stopped in to have a drink at the outside tables. We assumed it was a bar like the others next to it. Courtney, the manager, was unclear in explaining the mask policy and the process of ordering inside and then sitting outside. When my husband asked for clarification, she called him combative. We understand that certain policies and procedures are necessary at this time, but just explain them clearly.

Very generous pours for their tasting, delicious sweet wines and spirits. We always pick up a few bottles when we visit 😁

Women working there was incredibly rude about their mask policy. Truly a shame I came in to pick up a handful of spirits and left with nothing.

What a great place to purchase local Maine Wine and Spirits. Everything is local grown and sold. Cranberry Gin is amazing. With the new Covid restrictions I am glad to see that the Portland Store is finally open. Definitely a place to go visit in Portland.

Visited Sweetgrass while on vacation. Worth (yes that is his name) was excellent! He was fun, knowledgeable about the product, and passionate about what he does. Worth even turned us on to sun dried tomato and basil wheat thins while we had our tasting (we all had a laugh about it). I would absolutely recommend Sweetgrass to anyone visiting Portland, Maine. The wines are excellent and refreshing as well as their rum and gin. I will for sure be a repeat customer and look forward to trying their Maple Smash (a seasonal variety of their desert wine)

Excellent tasting room with friendly and courteous staff. All of their fortified wines and spirits were excellent, but the amazing gin is definitely the headliner. Tastings are affordable ($5 a person in 2018) and you get a nifty glass to take home. Worth walking by when in the area.

I’ve been in a few times and am always greeted warmly. I originally went in just for a tasting, and enjoyed everything I tried, but I absolutely fell in love with the Maple Smash. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing friends!

My purpose in visiting was for a wine tasting, although the wine selection was quite thin. Most of the wines on the list are blueberry or cranberry liqueurs/dessert wines. There were no true red or white wines. The tasting also included spirits selections.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Tastings cost $5 to try four different selections from the menu and include a small souvenir glass. The hard apple cider is made with Maine apples and was very good, although a little dry for my taste. The gins were also very good and reasonably priced as well.

We tasted several wines and gins. Best vermouth Ive ever had. Cranberry gin is excellent. We bought two bottles of the gin (one as a gift) and one of vermouth. The person who guided the tasting was charming.

What a great little storefront for such a unique winery/distillery. My favorite was the Rhum and Cranberry wine. $5 for a tasting of 4 wines or spirits, and you get to keep the cool glass! Knowledgeable staff, with a clean, and classy environment. Stop in, its informative, fun, and very low pressure.

I was sadly disappointed by this small shop. Very limited choice of wine and spirits, none of which were outstanding. Tiny samples were poured and the lady who was leading our tasting was curt and impersonal. The only upside is the complimentary glass. I would not stop here again.

We had a great experience here. We went in November and so we were essentially the only customers there and the lovely hostess was amazing at describing everything in the menu. Tasting is only $5 for 4 samples and you get to keep the glass and everything on their menu is super unique and something we really hadn’t tried before. The black river Gin was absolutely outstanding and my partner walked away with her favorite —the cranberry gin.
