I went in here a while back to purchase a weed trimmer after being fed up with cheap department store pieces of junk. I got exactly what I was looking for in the budget I had and my Echo has ran like a dream since. No pushing salesman, no gimmicks. Recently I got a used Stihl blower and it didn’t run so I brought it in to the service department and Jason got it going in about 1 minute free of charge and offered good advice on how to maintain and keep the machine in good condition. These guys are the perfect example of customer service done right and they have my business for life. I would recommend them to anyone.
I wont do business here anymore, I moonlight as a small gas engine and equipment mechanic. I dont order parts everyday(most fixes just require a little attention to detail, some cleaning, and adjustments. Im sure they dont want you to know that either!) However when they require parts I dont expect to be gouged $7.00 for shipping when they receive trucks with parts as part of their business. Im not an attorney but I suspect thats borderline criminal. Imagine if 20 people a week ordered parts. Thats 140.00 a week for shipping when those parts come on the truck for free. I do all my business through Woodstock Mower and chain now. Small local Ma & Pop store. I dont like being taken advantage of but I especially hate when someone treats me as though Im stupid!

Came here to buy a Honda mower, sales guy didnt even say hello and then helped the next people who walked in immediately. Not sure if he stereotyped me or what but now Im 0.8 miles away buying my new Honda mower at Home Depot. Terrible salesman.Edit: The response to my review is 100% false, when I walked in the store was absolutely empty, nobody was busy, they IGNORED me. Next group comes in the shop? Sales guy rushes over.I walked in knowing what I needed and nobody was available to help, so I went to HD and now Im in my driveway with my new mower.You took one look at me and decided to ignore my business.
Was in search of a Honda gen and they where out on the shelf. The csr asked for me to wait as they had some on the back that came in but took longer to get them out. I was happy to purchase regardless and they brought it out to the truck since I had restless kiddos ready to leave.

Horrible place run for the hills do not take anything for service here. Completely incompetent service Dept. Id give it 0 stars if i could. First when i initially brought it in early march for repair they said 6 weeks for tune up of my troy roto tiller as it was due for a tune up and the carb was surging. I got an estimate bout 2 weeks later and okd the work to perform. I picked it up and started it and it still was surging. Of course they said it was a bad part from supplier ( most likely incompotent repair by them). So i waited another 2 weeks after they said they put another carb on. Service mgr said it was a junk tiller.. BS.. when i initially brought it store mgr Brian helped me inload it and said its a good model as its older.Brought it home it barely ran and cut out so i took it back.. demod on some dirt there and it cut out and barely ran and they said i dont know how to roto till and not to fight it?? You kiddding me?? Ive used this about 10 yrs and it never ran like this. You have to control it or it will hop and skip on the grass or dirt. So i wouldnt bring it back cause they said it was my fault when it was there incompetence or lack of knowledge on repair. So i took it to hendersons for 2nd opinion They knew exactly the issue when i explained it to them on phone. The jet was bad in carb causing it to flood. They all thought it was hilarious that stark street said i dont know how to roto till...picked it up later on week.. runs perfect... I can hold it down to the ground when I till and theres no cutting out or stalling...stark street wouldnt refund my money either...$270.00..stay away they have no business running a service dept there...Taylor
My father took his lawn tractor in for annual service. They had it over a month. He got it back in pieces with bent and destroyed parts. They didn’t apologize,just a normal day for their terrible mechanics. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and I know they suck. I would’ve given less stars if I knew how. I won’t be recommending this shop to anyone.

Service was fast and friendly in the service shack, a guy name Brandon got me set up to get my mower repaired. Ill get back to yall on the final price and working order of mower when they are done. I edited this to add...... they got it done in a matter of hours!!! My lawn mower runs perfectly and the cost was right on. Ill go back for my next lawn needs. (Whatever they might be, lol)

I brought my hedge trimmer attachment in to get sharpened. They did it in a timely manner but when I picked it up it was dirty.(looked the same way when I come in. When I went to use it they put the blade back on upside down and noticed that it wasn’t that sharp when I was cutting.

Took over three weeks (after initial week of waiting) of constant calling to get status on my order, just to find out wrong parts were ordered and no solution given. Ordered online same day from another company, and 2 day later it arrived for less money too! This kind of situation is EXACTLY why local businesses are going down.

Wow. I asked about getting service for my Milwaukee brand chainsaw and the gentleman on the phone said they dont service that brand. Fine, makes sense if they cant get the parts... however, when asked if he had a recommendation to where I could get it serviced, he rudely said to Google it. Seems like a missed opportunity here. Also, they should update their website to list the brands they do/do not service.

Adam helped me. I already knew what I wanted. He offered alternatives on the phone and then uncrated and prepped the mower I wanted within 90 minutes, and got me taken care of without wasting any time or trying to sell me anything I didnt need. Bought a Toro Zero Turn mower. So far, couldnt be happier! He was helpful, and their prices were as good as Homes Depot, but these guys are actually authorized to repair them, too.
Worst outcome and customer service I have had in quite a while. Been a customer for more than 25 years. Bought a John Deere lawn mower at Starks long ago and have returned for service and to buy other tools over the years.Last month, that mower died and needed some help. Dropped it off, they had a record of me in their computer, I said great, but youll need to change my phone number, as I dont use landline for much anymore. Apparently that didnt happen, because when I dropped by today while doing errands to ask how the repair was going, the guy in the service department shows me the computer screen that reads theyd been trying to reach me repeatedly, but had never called my cell number, despite my request, and that my mower was going to cost at least $500 to repair. Not only that, but now I owed them shop time for looking at it. I declined interest in paying the $45 fee that apparently, the first repair guy failed to collect, and left my mower there for them to recycle. The repair guy told me that they werent going to let me do business there anymore.Good riddance. Mission accomplished. I wont be shopping at Starks Street Lawn and Garden anymore. Pathetic.There are a lot of other lawn tool shops, folks.
Friendly service and good work getting my lawn mower ready to go for the season. I had gone to another place, who wouldnt deign to serve me. These guys will, even if you do have a cheap lawn mower like I do. Next time I buy, Ill go here. Building is accessible, and the parking is good, too.

Called and agreed to purchase a generator and was assured that one would be held in my name. After driving for two hours to Portland, I was told that the generator had been sold to someone else and they did not have any more of that model in stock. I will not patrinize this customer unfriendly business in the future.
DO NOT TAKE EQUIPMENT HERE FOR REPAIRS! I declined repairs for my saw due to the exorbitant price and went to pick it up. They had me sign for the return, of course releasing them of any liability, and then they brought the saw to the counter in pieces. When asked why it was not put back together, they said because I declined repairs they didnt want to invest any more time into the saw. Great business plan Stark Street! If I could give negative stars I would.
Would like to say after a few calls we got our mower back. And they made it right in our view. So this company has good Morales for a local business they put the customer ahead of money .Thanks for doing what was fair.
I took it in for the full tune-up. The cost was around $120 and it took a week longer than the time frame they had told me it would take. And, once I got it home I discovered that the blade had not been sharpened - kind of a basic task you expect to be performed when you take a lawn mower in for annual service. And yes, I was told that this would be part of the service. However I guess it is partially my fault for trusting that it would be taken care of, so I didnt inspect it in the parking lot before loading it up and hauling it home. Ive been using the Stark Street location in Beaverton for years and have never had any difficulties or issues like this. I decided that it is not worth taking back - or going back.Buyer beware! You might not get what you are paying for. Keep in mind they are not the only game in town!
I started coming here several years ago because they sold & repaired electrical landscape equipment. Every time I’ve come in I’ve had great service, even when I have lots of questions. They were able to give me options for the electrical equipment I needed as well as answer questions when I was having a hard time getting one of the pieces to work.
They told me that they would have the part that I ordered in 3 to 7 days. It took them a month and a half to finally get me the part I ordered. Every time I would call and inquire on my order. I would be rudely told not to call them that they would call me when the part came in. It wasnt until I finally was able to talk to the manager and he apologized for it taking so long. He promised me that he would have my part with in 3 days that I felt that I was being treated like a customer not a burden. It still took another 7 days before I got my part.
I was told it would take two weeks to fix my mower. Day 16, the mower had not be touched; called, they said it would be another 2 weeks. Decided to pick up the machine. Was told they had 200 mowers in back log? It maybe another month before they get to it? If they are that much in demand, Management should hire more Workers...the prices there are off the charts...terrible customer service; as well as the representatives at the Desk...this place will not see my money or business in the future.
I picked up my Cub cadet SX 54 today. I just got my trailer fixed so that I could pick it up today. 6-5-2018. I had 4 d-rings welded inside the bottom part of the trailer. I put 4 heavy duty lashings on all 4 corners. Then I put a moving blanket on and the a cargo net. I the took a 40 ft lashing winch & nylon strap & ran it back & forth front to back. I left & headed out the 205 freeway. I made it 10 miles when a lady, that was in the fast lane going 10 mph put on her turn signal & turn in front of me & stop. I guess she missed her exit. I plowed into her going 50 mph ? totally smashed her rear end. Called 911 & when I looked up she took off. My cub Cadet had just a little damage. I took a long time to tie that Cub down & it paid off. If anybody saw this accident call the cops.

I was looking for a Cub Cadet RZT S. Home Depot had not idea how to order one even though it was on their web site. I looked on line and found one at Start Street L&G. I called and they said they had one in stock. I said I wanted to buy it but I couldnt come in until the next day. No problem they said. I showed up the next day, the paper work was ready and all I had to do was swipe my card. The mower was ready and serviced. The loaded it into the back of my pick up truck and I was on my way home all in about 20 min. Not sure how the service could have been better. The staff was friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. The mower works great, by the way.

Just took my old 500VL in due to the Echo safety recall (replacement). The guy behind the service counter informed me that it would be at least 2-1/2 weeks before they even looked at the saw. Other than myself the service was completely empty of other customers. Still he was Not even willing to make the two minute phone call To Echo. The arrogant, condescending punk had the nerve to tell me that I’m not important because he has paying customers ahead of me and that it’s an old recall. Not sure he can actually even read.Brian; “missed the mark” is a bit of an understatement. Details of my experience were provided in my initial review, other than I didn’t catch the name of the tool behind the counter. I visited one your competitors yesterday and was treated very well and promptly assisted. They were extremely helpful and I will not hesitate to purchase equipment from them in the future as well as recommending them to my family and friends.

Absolutely horrible service. These people from sales to service are worthless. Nobody knows anything about the equipment they sale. I would stay as far away from these shady folks as possible.Edit. I am a landscape business owner in Washington. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with this company. After not being happy with the service I left a review.The problem I have with these people is they dont want to help you after they take your money. Call the service center to get a price on a basic repair and the lady tells me well I dont know about that I dont work on the equipment, I cant really give you the answer But she is the one who answers the phone for the service department. When I asked her to find out for me she acted extremely inconvenienced and was unable to answer my question.I also had a major problem with a 1300$ mower I bought 40 days ago. They did not wanna help.After I left a negative review for the negative service I got I have a notification of a negative review on my business page.After a little research I found the negative review was made with a new account by the name of Bob Johnston. The said Bob Johnston review has been found helpful by two Stark street lawn employees. The review left on my page is really from Brian Greenstreet.These people offer such shady service that when people leave real reviews about the service they make fake accounts to get back at those who leave the reviews.BRIAN GREENSTREET and ALL of stark street lawn employees are will cheat and lie to you just to make a buck.Be advised. Took Troy-Built generator there for repair because it wouldn’t start. They said starting battery was bad and there was no replacement part for it. They pulled Carb inlet filter and said the carburetor needed to be replaced. I took it back home, got direct battery replacement from Batteries Plus Bulbs. They didn’t hook up fuel line to carb, and hadn’t re-tightened the nuts they had removed. I found a YouTube video about the carburetor, in 10 minutes I had it off, inspected (found completely clean inside and like new), reinstalled and it started right up like brand new. $90 to them for pulling the inlet filter for “inspection”. I’ll never take anything there again.
6 weeks ago, I took my riding mower in to get an annual inspection and tune up. After 2 weeks my mower came back looking like new. However, the first time I mowed my lawn, a loud noise came from the mower. It turned out to be a drive bearing. After trouble shooting on line, others have had the same bearing go out after it was pressure washed. I called Stark Street mowers back, and they said they would get me in right away and I wouldnt have to wait the 2 week waiting time. After 1 more week, I called to get a status report, and the tech told me he wasnt working on the mower, but parts had been ordered. 1 more week later, another tech called me and said they just got a chance to start working on my mower, and needed my consent to order parts. After I told him what the first tech had said, he was silent! Wouldnt even acknowledge what I said!Now its been 3 1/2 weeks, and they said my parts are in back order. Still mower less, Im very frustrated. Had they been honest and told me they were too busy to fix my mower for a month, I could have made other plans. Getting strung along has been frustrating. Bat and switch, I ordered an Oregon 22 ton log splitter. I confirmed the order for the Oregon 22 ton. Payed for it over the phone. When I drove down to pick the unit up it was some knock off brand I never heard of. There response was tuff take it are leave it. I warn you to stay clear of this seller, this should be dishonest.

Bought my original weed-eater from them, John Deere 2, cycle, but when I when back to order a metal blade for it. The Sales Rep. said it was no longer available- misinformation -, for it is online. Believing they knew their stuff, told them I would be in at the end of the week to buy a new Honda Brush-cutter, and to have it ready. Well, when I got there they didnt have one, or my order in the system, so I waited a day until got one. Leaving satisfied that mistakes can happen, I was still a loyal customer. The Honda Handle broke, and I found the it wasnt a warranty part, nor did they stock it. After it broke again, I bought several of the part online and also bought the right blade, which they also didnt stock... I tossed the replacement Metal Blade they sold me, for it was extremely inadequate for the Job I was doing. Too bad the specialty Store is dropping the Ball, for I can buy online, or Box-Store and be less disturbed by Sales Reps. lack of empowerment.
Swindled my grandmother out of a really nice Toro that she brought in for a basic servicing. They tacked on a bunch of unnecessary services at an excessive rate of 350$.. very untrustworthy.

I went to get my Honda generator serviced by these guys because the idle was erratic. They said because it is the summer and they are very busy a typical wait time is about two weeks. I said that was too bad, because I needed it within three days because I was going on vacation. The guy said, bring it down right now and well get it done. Two hours later they called and it was ready! Great service indeed, and that impressed me. One problem though. When we first spoke, he suggested they give the machine a full service, and said it would cost $53.00 plus parts. Then on second thought he said, well, lets just get it running smooth since you need it quickly. I asked if that would save me some money and he said sure it will, if its a quick fix. Well when I went to pick it up the price was $77.49. I asked why and he said because we charged you an hour labor. I reminded him of the quote, and he said, oh, that was only a guestimate, I cant guarantee the price ahead of time. After some polite exchange, he lowered it to $65.87. He said, if you come and see us again, well make it right next time. Well, I would have preferred if they made it right this time. The thing is, he originally said they would do a full service for $53.00, which I thought would at least include the fuel filter and an oil change, but all they did was clean the carb, air filter and changed the spark plug, which I cant imagine took an hour of labor. So, all in all, I wouldnt do business with these guys again, but I have to give them credit and thanks for getting my machine running quickly, and given my circumstance that was worth the money, even though I feel they over-charged me. So, if you use them for service, I would recommend you get a written quote and a description of the service up front.
