Excellent hardware and feed store. They have better parts and help than home Depot. Go here first! Or call them and ask if they have what you want. A huge selection from plumbing to electrical to hand tools.

We have enjoyed meeting all the staff who have been extremely helpful to us.We are new to raising chickens and they have educated us and their prices beat out all the feed stores around!They recognize our grandson and that makes me continue to shop there also!

Do not go in the store if you have OCD. It appears after adding just about everything you could ever need over the years its not as organized as Safeway moving everything each month. You are very likely to find what you need somewhere in maze. The staff is very helpful for group of grumpy Old Men. If you want to get in and out just ask where to find what you when you walk in.

Hands down the best, most comprehensive hardware store in Portland. Worth traveling the extra distance when you’ve exhausted the nearby alternatives. This is the place to go when your needs extend beyond a few lag bolts, batteries, and lightbulbs. Witchita has all the rest.

I can not aay enough about this place. The people who work here are a special kind.they ALL are very friendly and helpfull .I have been in the store probably 50 to 100 times in the last 10 years and only 1 time they didnt have what i needed.!! The staff have NEVER BEEN grumpy or short. I absolutely love this place and these people!!!

I liked the store, but despite having signs up about masks during covid, I was disappointed that when I was there, neither employee I saw was wearing a mask. One guy had one dangling off one ear the whole time and the other guy just didnt have one.

This place is so much fun. Lots of things in stock. They even had some welded wire I needed that was hiding behind all the others. Employees are super nice and helpful.

We discovered this farm shop after going to Lowes. Such a wonderful hardware and farm store that has a great selection of items. The people that work there are super nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend shopping here for you hardware needs.

Love these guys,and always enjoy supporting small businesses,despite Home Depot being within about ¾ of a mile.Their prices are a higher,but the mom & pop business are disappearing & need patronage over the big box stores.Sure I use H.D, but Im Witchita has things they dont and just about every other little thing ya may need,i.e;a needed drill bit,bulb,chicken fencing,framing hammer...when ya dont want to deal with the craziness of the Depot or its always large lines...Love me some Witchita!

Best hardware store out there. They have almost anything you need (except lumber). Friendly and helpful staff will get you that one impossible to find part, that makes everything fall into place.

Love this place! Can get fertilizer, metric fasteners, and welding supplies all under one little roof. Old time store with friendly staff, wood floors, and a door you close behind you.

This is where you should be shopping if you live in the neighborhood. Really appreciated the dedication to social distancing given such a small space. One thing though... I bought some oil based poly and it was so old it was impossible to thin or use. Maybe a check up on the stuff that has been around for a while. Other than that great service and prices are fair.

Me entering o obviously long time old school feed and hardware place. How long have you been here? The guy at the register answers since 830. I guess they been open most of the last 70 plus years. Then he proceeded to give me the best customer service Ive had in many years.

This place is fantastic!It is one of a dying breed of independent hardware and feed stores, where the owners (an extended family) are knowledgeable and helpful, and most of the items can be purchased individually from bulk bins.No need to buy a bag of six bolts or screws for $1.50 when all you need is one that costs 5 cents.If they dont have what you need, they can usually order it for you....

Lots of things you wont find in conventional hardware stores or big box joints. Explain what you need to do to the friendly staff, and thell set you up fine. Real people helping real people.

Every stop at Witchita is one less stop at soul sucking Home Depot. The staff is quirky, friendly and very knowledgeable. They have an incredible selection and a great hardware section. You might pay a little more for some things, but its worth the time save avoiding the trip through the parking lot and isles of a box store. I bet they have what you need.. except lumber.

Felt good shopping at a local hardware store, and they have just about everything even bulk kerosene.

Went into the Home Depot to purchase a pair of simple Ell brackets and screws. Was there almost a half hour, no one knew where they were, the person who could of helped didnt answer 6 pages.Wichita had me at the counter with exactly what I needed, no buy 10 to use 2, plus a new hammer and axe in under 10 minutes.

The workers are wonderful as well as very knowledgeable. They have a large variety and I known to have people go in needing some obscure part and the worker will go in the back room come back with it. Its also fun just to walk around and look at everything.

They have everything. I went there to find some hard to get bolts and they had them!! Staff real nice and helpful. Ill go here before I go to any of the OTHER hardware stores!! Give them a try!!

I stopped in yesterday to see if they had bolts for my new license plates because the old ones had rusted off, with one broken off and stuck in the hole. A very kind and efficient fellow greeted me, went out to look at my car and assess the situation, then drilled a new hole and installed the plates for me on the spot. He regretfully charged me a dollar, and refused a tip. This all took less than 10 minutes. I just moved from Chicago, and am so glad I went local instead of going to a big box store!

This place is unique. Its where all the other hardware stores tell you to go when you cant find what you need. They have stock that looks like its been in inventory for 50 years thank goodness!

This is a place for people who fix stuff. If you fix stuff and havent been here go. Beyond being the best hardware/feed/farm store around which the reviews establish, What I feel is worth mentioning are items that they carry that are harder to find in larger home improvement stores. Here you will find one of the better selections of replacement axe handles in the Portland Metro area; this includes hatchet and hammer handles as well as replacement garden tool handles. Other notable things: a large selection of motor pulleys and high quality plant and dirt manipulation hand tools. The biggest bolt cutters and Crescent wrench Ive ever seen. Go there and be wowed by the wood plank aisles and the wondrous hardware section and fix some stuff!

By far my most favorite hardware store to go to! If they dont have it, they can get it for you. Their staff is super knowledgeable and friendly!

Wichita has always been a household name in my family; a true definition of good old Boys. They were the “go to” when hitting a sprinkler head with the mower or needing to match a replacement bolt for a table saw. Daily trips were made to satisfy odd-ball needs for our cabinet shop. Still avoid Home Depot whenever possible because their experience, knowledge and quality merchandise can not be matched.

Service here was excellent. Couldnt find the pellets needed for a wood stove but they pointed me right to them and helped me find the ones that were the best value.

Everyone there is incredibly nice and helpful, and you can find lots of hard-to-find stuff, fairly cheap. When I was in 3rd grade they even donated 30 lbs. of dog food to me for a school fund-raiser for the Oregon Humane Society!

I started going to Wichita feed hardware after I got out of the service U S Navy in 1960 when I was 21 I am now just over 80 and I drive from Damacus at least once a month or more they are very nice and allways willing to help me.

Reminded me of the small farming, anything you need shops back in eastern oregon, they had anything and everything you need.

Want help before you ruin a wall or work on some other project around the house? Go to Wichita. I asked them about hanging a speed bag on a wall built with double layered sheet rock (the space used to be a recording studio) that put the studs more than two inches behind the wall. Instead of just giving his own recommendation, the guy behind the counter called out to a contractor who was there buying supplies, and he gave me some great advice. You dont get that at Home Depot.

I come here just to buy dog food. The prices are reasonable for the amount you get and its the only dog food that doesnt give my dogs any allergic problems. Its a small little store but packed with great products and the customer service I have received was great. They even carry the large bag of dog food to my car everytime.

Its like they had everything. Every turn is another room and each room has more of the toys/tools that I need. Most importantly, awesome staff. Local. Use it.
