This is simply THE BEST place to get your lumber from! We have recently had some sudden “we need lumber today!” issues and these guys have been friendly, helpful, and sometimes gotten it delivered the same day!

The staff here are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Ill definitely be back the next time I have a home improvement project or need to fix something around the house! Im new to this side of town and am so happy to have found another awesome local business to support.

This team could not be more helpful! I came in multiple times for more materials during a complex project and they ripped me boards, helped me troubleshoot and even drilled a hole in a caster wheel ( that I purchased somewhere else) to make it work! Looking for composite deck material. Good display, including samples, of Sylvanix and Fiberon boards. They let me take the Fiberon kit home with all the samples. Very attentive and helpful customer service!

Nice folks and got what I needed

This place had exactly what I was looking for and the staff were incredibly helpful. I new what I wanted to do, but, as an amateur I wasn’t exactly sure how to do it. These guys helped me map out my project, measured and cut my lumber and showed me a better way to implement my plan. After all that I left some of the wood behind at the store but a member of staff managed to track me down and get a message to me to come back and pick up my wood at the gate, so that I didn’t have to wait till Monday when they reopened . Thanks for all your help. Any more projects and I’ll be back.

One of the best damn Little Hardware shops in town I absolutely love this place. You can just about get anything you want. And theyre so helpful and friendly you just want to move in. Yeah and their prices are not unreasonable no. And if you want Lumber or wood cut to a certain size theyre more than happy to do that.

Not as much a hardware store as it is a lumber yard .they carry a few isles of basic builders needs but can handle most all of your lumber needs. Plus its a more friendly good ole boys kind of place where they remember ya and shoot the breeze with ya. Its just a small place so you wont find all the things depot has or even ace but still a worthy stop for nails, screws, wood, ect

David and Dean and the other folks here are great. Weve done a lot of remodeling in the past year and David has been super patient and helpful with selecting and ordering doors and windows. Lumber prices are reasonable, good selection, and they are knowledgable about what they sell. Delivery in the nearby area is really reasonable too. Definitely recommend them.

We came in like a pair of idiots, not quite sure how to accomplish the cuts we needed. But these guys had EVERYTHING and knew exactly how to help us with our project. We left satisfied and built something cool precisely how we wanted it to be. 52nd made it easy, we will absolutely be back.

Friendly staff that really seem to enjoy helping folks. I like the screw and nail bulk section. The lumber seems to be a little bit more than at Home Depot, but I like to avoid the soul suck of driving to and navigating through the parking lot and isles of that awful box store. Happy to have a neighborhood lumber yard.

These guys are wonderful! They take the time to get things right, will work with you at the level of experience you have, and are forthright in their recommendations and suggestions. They follow through with information when they say they will, and are attentive to the details. Above all, they maintain a rapport that makes the customer feel like family! I bought my first windows from them in about 1999, and only wish I had known about them sooner. First rate all round!

I came here looking for something else and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they can order replacement screens for Milgard windows. David was very helpful and explained how to find the original Milgard order number on the window to get the correct screen size. I called in my order and got a new screen at an affordable price within a week or so. Thank you!

Stopped in for the first time today. These folks are serious. Loved that they keep a list of locals for pretty much any project that you need help with.

I called for info siding and got a full education. Dean took the time to explain how to measure the amount of material I needed and explained the lingo. Before calling 52nd ave I called about seven other hardware/lumber stores and no one was nearly as helpful. I cant wait to give this business my money! Oh and I almost forgot prices are good too.

My family used to utilize this local hardware store; however after a very harassing phone message that was completely unprovoked we will never shop at 52nd Hardware again! The voice mail was left about a month ago. I let time pass before writing a review as I did not want to receive another verbally abusive phone call.During the time our daughter was learning the family phone number she was writing it when ever she got a chance. Well at 52nd hardware they have a shelf at the check out stand that has pencils of color lined up. My daughter asked if she could draw as she could see many (and I do mean many) people had done so before, she was told she could.Well it seems she had written her name and the number she was trying to learn. Now this would have been a couple of years ago, as now she knows our phone number very well and no longer writes it down.Well I guess Dean was cleaning the shelf and for some reason decided to call and blame my daughter (who now is 8) for the whole of the self being colored. He went on to state how he now has to sand and polish the whole thing because of this. And that he did not know why people keep drawing on the self; my thought was hmm perhaps it is because you tell them they can.There was so much more to the message that was hateful and horrible that I will not write it here. But he ended with saying he never wants us back there.My family is more than happy to grant the request and will never be going to this unfriendly place again.To re-state the time line here. The incident in question would have happened two years ago when our daughter was 6. 52nd hardware decided to call and leave a harassing voice mail roughly a month and a half ago. They waited two years to verbally abuse a loyal customer? Instead of doing the correct thing and just saying no thank you when my daughter asked if she could draw.And this voice mail just brought forth how condescending they are in general unless I have my husband with me. I enjoy supporting local businesses. But after this I am a loyal Home Depot and Wichita Hardware on Johnson Creak customer now.
