Sheridans Fruit is so much more. Whod of thunk a fruit company would have such a vast collection of top quality meats, including over 20 varieties if handmade sausage and several choice smoked meats. My favorite is the Smoked Pork Chop yet their Pastrami is always delicious.You can expect top tier local produce, organic options, light groceries, and beers. Its easy to miss their bulk section which is fully loaded and my new spice cabinet.Their employees are wonderful and helpful. I cant say enough good things about everyone involved.Seriously the Best of the Best grocers Ive ever found.

We hit up the meat department this time. We snagged an assortment of Sheridan fruits brats and sausages. Such an amazing selection of very unique sausage blends. We also grabbed two delicious boneless ribeye steaks, pork chops, pork sausage, and our brats. Make sure to obviously grab some fruit. Wonderful store reminiscent of the old days. Absolutely wonderful crew very friendly and very helpful. I have added Sheridans market into our grocery rotation. Highly recommend this store.

Awesome personal meat market, unique frozen items like restaurant quality ravioli and duck breast, beautiful produce, interesting bulk items, AND super friendly people who really want to help you. So much more. I suggest you check it out or dont because I dont want it to get too busy and change.

A great spot that offers quality produce and meats. I normally come here for their fantastic sandwiches from the deli and their food items from their food cart located in front of the store. The cart orders daily specials which are normally under $7 and other items. The deli area makes some of the best sandwiches at reasonable prices. Its definitely a place that fulfills the cravings.

One of the best markets in Portland, or for that matter, Oregon. This is an old school place that caters to the discerning cook, whether professional or home. If you want quality meats, produce and general grocery items this is the place.The meat counter is stocked with product that is expertly cut to your needs, in-house sausage of many varieties that will knock your socks off and impress the most finicky of tastes.They offer a wide variety of quality fresh produce, grocery products and meat, poultry, fish for any budget, and have a staff that not only are knowledgeable, but also friendly and helpful.Before the pandemic, they offered cooking classes in the evenings. Not sure if thats still an option.Face masks and other safety precautions are expected while shopping. And finally, they have a killer food cart in the parking lot.

High quality produce! Just tons of good stuff thats not typically found in other stores. Fair prices too for the quality. My go to place for meat products. You can call ahead of time for custom cuts/special orders of meat products.

Small grocery store, staff do helpful and courteous. Prices a tad higher than Safeway and Fred Meyer I rather shop here if I have a few items to buy instead of going to the other stores that I have a long line that stand in, or be treated rudely by the cashiers at those two other big name stores. This is a unique smaller grocery store and I would recommend visiting and supporting.

Great local market for most of your grocery needs. They have the high quality stuff at reasonable prices.

Do yourself a favor- go online and print out the menu of all Sheridans different kinds of sausages they make and give it a good read thru before you go in. There are just so many, its overwhelming, and theyre all delicious. Plus, once you get there, youre faced with smoked pork chops, gorgeous flank steaks and tri-tip, and a bunch of other stuff you didnt count on. I get the feeling the people behind the counter are used to dealing with everyone’s awestruck amazement, but still, it helps to have some kind of game plan to kerp things moving! 😀They also have a very good selection of baking products, like different types of flours, cocoa, couverture chocolate, marzipan, etc- some of those things are hard to find! Theyve got a nice produce section, some great pastas and salad-type things and baked goods, and a pretty nice wine selection. Im sorry if I cant describe the rest of the store very well, tbh, when I think of Sheridans my mind just keeps drifting back to that meat counter! 😅

I say, old chap, the English Bangers are fit for the British Royals...if they ever drop in for supper. Flavorful, juicy....marvelous with mustard potato salad. Love this market and the folks who keep it working.

Possibly the best selection of meats in all of Portland! I have consistently made the best dry-aged steaks from their bone-in ribeyes...and I have tried many other markets to compare and none of them do. They are also a great spot for some great local produce and a bounty of bulk spices and seasonings. If you havent been here yet, you are truly missing a Portland gem!

Sheridan Fruit has a remarkable wide array of groceries. Their spice, grain, & legume selection is watched in the PDX region! The butchers are wonderful, & deli is great. Good fruits & veggies too.

My favorite grocery store in all of Portland.It feels like an East Coast delicatessen and has so many different items and high quality produce. If you cant make the farmers market, I highly suggest going here.Prices can sometimes be a little higher than New Seasons, but thats okay. Staff are super friendly and their selection is out of this world.So many options!

Im in love with a cashier there because she smiled at me and didnt know. Kidding. No. But great service every time I feel I needed it so far and the big selection on fruits is a huge plus for me. So now I get a free watermelon right? Kidding again. But really? Hahaha oh my God. This is too much. Super fantastic meat and produce section - one of the best in Portland! Fun wine selection as well, but everything else can be hit-or-miss. Good for cooking inspiration, just dont go with a full shopping list or youll probably end up having to make another stop.

I really dont understand why everyone doesnt shop here. Then again, I like it that way. Its the best market Ive ever experienced in multiple states and multiple countries.By that I mean their produce always seems local ripe (not sure if it is, but I feel like Im at a farmers market); they have an immaculate grain, rice, and spices section; and theyre meat! You might not be into that, but its on the opposite side of the store. If you are, I havent found better outside of a ranch.

I flat out love this place. Its expensive (but worth it for foodies), so I limit my number of visits. That said, I just bought a beautiful lamb shoulder yesterday, which they helpfully cut to order while I waited. Heirloom tomatoes, really great wine and cheese selections, the astounding variety of sausages (all house made) and baking supplies all bring me back time and time again. In addition to the lamb, I picked up some beautiful bread flour and aged cheddar. Oh, and some of my favorite Vihno Verde Rose!

I often forget how long Sheridans has been in business. Ive been going there for over 20 years. But, they have been around since the 40s or earlier!!!! Dont tell your friends but this is the place for sausage and all things fresh and good. Good people all around and you wont find butchers much better. Great selection of specialty items and tremendous bulk options for flour, nuts, candy, rice and more. Killer deli.

Sheridans meat counter alone is worth the stop (or the trip across town). Wide array of sausages (black pepper garlic is one of my favorites), steaks, smoked items and even more wild game options in the freezer. I just drove across town to pick up some of their beer brats! Highly recommended!

Lovely little old-timey grocery store with a great meat counter, excellent veggies and fruits, and a lot of humble specialty items I havent been able to find anywhere else. Every time I enter this store, its a treat.

This place has a huge variety of great food and drink items, however, I was not impressed by the staff(4), who barely made eye contact with me. The cashier appeared to be on auto pilot. She asked How are you? as I entered her station. When I responded Im good. How are you? When she didnt respond, I assumed she just hadnt heard me. However, after I paid and said Thank you to her she didnt respond or thank me for coming in . This is a pet peeve of mine, so she blew it.

I love this store, my level of gratitude, for the kindness all seem to be met with there..If you go there be kind and know that those folks, all have families. So be mindful of mask and spacing. Thank you.

Eh, its okay. Produce seemed expensive however the meat counter was phenomenal. I would give more stars but social distancing inside was nonexistent and a lot of the patrons were really rude. Not a reflection of the business of course but does impact the shopping experience.

I love Sheridans for many reasons. 1. Its an urban market and it serves an underserved area. 2. Its privately owned rather than being a chain store. 3. Their meat counter features fine fresh meats, seafood, poultry, and yummy housemade sausages. They have real butchers there to ensure the meat is fresh and properly. 4. They have a bigger variety of vegetables than you might imagine including a whole section of organics. 5. They have a great great selection of bulk foods. 6 A really nice selection of beer, including my favorite, Black Boss porter, which is only carried in a few places in Portland

Always a great market to visit. Meats and cheeses cost a bit more, but the quality is worth it. Plus, their produce is great and priced competitively and their bulk section is always a good deal.

Fresh & local produce at reasonable prices. Friendly & helpful staff. The interior has a quaint & nostalgic feel. They also have the fastest meat counter in the city. One of their butchers is able to remember multiple items & correct weights. It also features a small Cafe with an eating area to enjoy your goodies.

After over three decades of shopping here, I’m done. This business has long been a sole supplier of food products that are difficult to buy or hard to find in this area, and at a surprisingly reasonable price. But parking is a PITA and I can find most of what I want online now, delivered to my door. Twice now I have found dead flies in packages of meat, the produce is not the best despite the prices, and the spices and products in the “L” are too often out of date. Finding dead flies in my packaged chicken a second time is the death knell for me-some of the staff DNGAF and should find another job.

Would not let me use bathroom.Very rude cashier- ignored me when I was inquiring. In this day and age its common courtesy and the law that places like grocery stores have a public restroom. At the very least lie and say its out of service.

Great little grocery with a decent bulk foods selection and an amazing meat department with some more exotic/interesting cuts of meat as well as tasty sausages and other classics. I especially love that they have small pieces of cut cheese for a few dollars so that I can try a variety of cheese without committing to a big brick... appreciate that aspect!
