My favorite kind of store is anything that brings the Eastern countries to the US-especially Armenian products. I love their variety and their prices are very reasonable for imported products. Friendly team and one gentleman in produce was super helpful to me in sharing what they can and can not supply their stores with. We also love, love, love Alexs bologna brand and so I am extremely happy to shop somewhere they have such a huge variety of my favorite brands. Overall, very happy and satisfied.

My first time here. Very clean and organized. Several areas to purchase food items. Quite a selection of wines and beers.I think that it is worthwhile to spend a few minutes wandering around to see all the different areas. I really enjoyed checking it out. I will be back!

GREAT seafood and a decent selection of organic vegetables, they have an AMAZING array of foods and spices from the middle east as well as some great prepared foods and desserts.

I love their pieroshki and stroganoff and well, lets just say their whole deli counter. Also good juice that am not sure the kind cause I cant read Cyrillic... dont care cause it is good. Also I love the frozen pierogies.

Very good little grocery store. Prices seem to fluctuate a lot though. Like for instance youll go in and buy something for like $1 a pound one week, and then come back a week later and itll be like $2 a pound. Kind of hard to understand their pricing scheme. But they have a really good imported beer selection.

Nice Euro store with mostly high prices but good selection. German bread is reasonable and few other items. Some items marked up so high that options are better elsewhere. You must be a smart shopper but very nice store.

I cant wait to return.The German bread and rolls at Citymaxx are the very same ones shipped in from Germany to the other 2 delis, only at Citymaxx they are fresher/better packaged, and you are able to grab your own without concern for staleness or integrity.The deli meats, salamis, desserts, sausages, cheeses, warm and cold dishes at Citymaxx are the best around, & they offer an exciting array of diverse pantry items, coffees, teas, cabbages, nuts, produce, chocolates to make anyone content.I look forward to making an adventure there again soon. I love this place! I always get the 1 entree 2 sides meal with chicken chimiruli and mashed potatoes. The second side varies. Today, I got the cheesy cauliflower which is good. But, the best is their Mac n cheese. It’s the best I’ve ever had. Better than Montage. Right up there with the now closed Blueplate. It’s pure and simple. I try the different kids of pop too. So far, my favorite is a cream flavored Georgian lemonade. Their pastries are good too. I would buy a lot more there except my husband always makes me go straight to checkout after I get my food, otherwise I wander off and collect things to try/buy. Hopefully I win one of their giveaway contests (hint hint).

Store was great, came on the grand opening. They had BBQ outside, free samples. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Well stocked, employees asked if we needed help with anything. Product selection was second to none. Great experience!! Just for future note, cause its not listed here yet, they do take out of state food stamps (Washington).

For Russian, and areas formerly under that sphere of influence, goods its first rate. Fresh food, cakes, pastries, sausages, imported beers, and hard to find items. Fresh produce too. Id say its the biggest and best store in Portland for Eastern European products.

We really like the City Maxx store, but as it turned out yesterday, August 20, 2021, between 5-6 pm, when my husband came to the checkout, they tried to sell him 2 bags of flour for $ 25, the cost of which is $ 20. cashier did not want to scan the barcode, my husband saw this immediately and made a remark to the cashier, she corrected it. but when he settled and double-checked the check, he found that she counted him 3 pieces of ice cream, when he took only two. when he asked the manager, then she said that I am the manager. the name of this cashier is Parker. We ask customers to be attentive. And the management to take action. If it is really managers who are deceiving people, then how can you trust this store?Русский бизнес? Он никогда не меняется.

This appears to be a Russian Grocery store. They have so much to offer. I truly enjoyed the hot piroshki. They have an alternative to fast food options in the deli. We will be returning soon! The bathroom is clean.

Amazing selection of Russian, and other international foods of all types

Citymaxx is kind of a mini vacation - its like being in a European suburb - much bigger than a store youd find in a city, and shelves full of exotic (to those of us who dont necessarily read the languages on the packaging) goodness. On my first visit, I came away with a very nice Belgian beer, a jar of pickles from Poland, and a loaf of lovely rye bread from the folks at Eurobake. This will make an excellent destination for adding interesting things to my pantry on a regular basis.

Nearly empty on a Sunday afternoon, yet fully stocked and staffed with friendly employees. The emphasis here seems to be on Russian and German foods, with some Polish and Ukrainian cuisine as well. A lot of stuff I havent seen elsewhere in the States, including Sarajevsko beer at a surprisingly reasonable price ($1.99 per approximately 12 oz. bottle). Lots of fresh baked goods and meat in the deli cases, and interesting frozen seafood. In fact, nearly every aisle had something I hadnt heard of before and wanted to try! Some items, especially spices, are far less expensive than at standard local groceries. Definitely worth a stop, to shop or just explore!

They have massive KHACHAPURI! Made fresh! Only ten bucks. And kvass on tap. This is my favorite store. I want to try everything! Also the girl who made my khachapuri tonight said it was her first time making one, and she did a fantastic job! Everyone who works there is so sweet.

Their hot deli is absolutely amazing! I have no idea how to pronounce a lot of it but its all super tasty. Ridiculously large cheese selection as well. Homemade breads, homemade soups... I could go on and on. Its just a really great grocery store

Ochen khadashow! If youre looking for the most odd and hard to find Russian foods this is the place to go. My only complaint would be there is no cold beer. Btw, there is basically a separate drug store within the store that has many super rare vitamins, minerals and such things only we know about.

My heritage is Russian and as such, I learned to make such comfort food as Pelmeni and Piroshki at my grandmothers knee from an early age. I can make them from scratch but they are incredibly labor intensive. Citymaxx sells freshly made Piroshki with a variety of fillings for about what you would pay for a fast food burger but these are so much better than a burger and they replenish the fresh ones several times a day. The Pelmeni are frozen and they carry several brands with a variety of fillings; they taste every bit as good as the ones I can make from scratch but without the labor of making them.

My daughter and I had a great time checking out the specialty foods and beautiful items. Very clean

So following a debacle with a pizza order the manager comped us a pizza. The people in the store were apologetic and understanding of the situation. The pizza order was correct and completed quickly.We shopped and had a couple of piroshki while we waited. Excellent piroshki. Many unique European products.

Great customer service and good selection of international products

I popped in for a quick look because I lived in Hungary & was pleased to see some familiar treats. A very nice man looked for the Croatian wine I love. I will definitely be back to shop & try some Eastern European deli delights

Nice selection of foreign groceries

Fantastic food and drinks from all around the world.

Upon arriving in their location earlier this week, I observed multiple concerning things amidst a global pandemic. Multiple customers were not wearing any face masks, multiple employees, including one manager were wearing face masks wrong (below their nose, on their chin), and one employee behind the deli counter was not wearing a mask at all while slicing meat. Currently there is a mandatory mask mandate for all inside establishments.I am all for the variety and unique brands of food that is carried but what this particularly shows me is that there is little concern for the safety of customers and employees. I have personally experienced Covid in my house and would not want to get it again or see it transmitted to anyone else.Be cautious when shopping here. I’d love to see management respond to this with their safety protocols and what we can do if we see and feel their employees are not following them.

A spacious, clean and properly-organized store to explore the world through a plethora of varietes of food options. Out of that the staff is super friendly. Just wandering through the halls makes me feel that I am in a different country. It is amazing to see all these products, I never saw before in other stores. Love the Gyros btw.. I would definetely suggest to visit this place.

Horrible and humiliating. I do not recommend ever going here, i went into the store to buy a drink, i put my drink down to get cash out of my bag, the employee watching me assumed I stole something. A police officer comes come behind me and tells me to open my bag, the employee tells the officer that he saw me steal something, the police officer forces me to leave without even hearing my side of the story, I did not steal anything. The employee assumed I stole without even checking cameras for footage of me “putting something in my bag” they then proceed to ban me out of the store, what did i exactly do? nothing. It is literally disgusting how this place treated me. humiliated and made me cry in front of other customers. I should sue this place. They apologized for the misunderstanding and gave me the drink for free, thinking a $1.50 drink is going to make up for what has just occurred here. How unprofessional.

Exceptional selection of everything Eastern European & now they’re bringing in products from Germany. Deli that easily rivals Edelweiss- huge selection of imported cheeses and sausages. It’s the size of a regular grocery store filled with imported goods for a great price-from tea to frozen pierogi, you’ll find it here. LOVE this store!!

Lovely store! The people that work here are so absolutely kind and courteous. They are happy to let you try anything from the deli. There are so many European treats to try.My son and I go every week to try a new salami and a new product from the shelves weve never heard of before.This place is a must visit!

Fun place to shop! Interesting assortment of European foods, moderate pricing. Great selection of Beers of the world! Great candy selection. And the best breads! Purchased some fresh soup and cabbage roles for dinner. I have never seen so much sausage and salami anywhere, I would recommend taking a long time shopping. Love the store

As an eastern European I couldn’t be more happier to discover this pan-Slavic market. A fiesta of products from all over the places I used to visit and knew - now gathered in one spot! Sweets from Croatia, Polish sauerkraut with carrots, Russian beer and Kvas, Georgian mineral water, great meats and dairy products, Serbian “Lane” cookies, and bonus is ready to eat foods (Shashliki!) Omg I’ll be back one day:)

This unique store has some zucchini cakes that are fabulous. I go there specifically for this wonderful deli treat.

A great place to go when you feel like trying out something other than the name brand foods you find in your local grocery store. The only problem is if you dont speak Russian, Lithuanian, polish, Italian, etc, it can be difficult to know exactly what it is you are looking at. Delicious piroshkies!

Just went in to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. It was a Russian store. Tons of grocery items, a deli area and I had never had Borscht before so I got some to go. It was very tasty. I loved seeing all these different items and would love to go back and try something else I had never had before. The store was very clean and the staff was very friendly.

Great variety of products from many countries, delicious deli with many vegetarian salads, lots of chocolates, huge cabbages (!) and friendly people. Well be back.

Citymaxx has all your Russian/Eastern European needs. Tons of imported products, lots of fresh fruits, veggies and meats. Their deli is the star though!! So many delicious treats to try from salamis and cheeses to pastries and cakes. Their hot and cold prepared foods section of the deli is stellar!!

You like shopping around people who do not wear face masks during a global pandemic? Shop here then. Employees walk around with their face masks under their chins and shoppers freely roam the store mask-less. Very disappointing, I will not return and would advise others to avoid this establishment until they get a handle on the situation.

Just got done eating a bologna Sandwich that I made with bread and bologna from City Maxx Grocery. The German bologna was excellent. Have not had any of the sauerkraut yet but I will. This store rocks. I had a samples of their chocolate cake . Excellent. Their gyro and Reuben sandwiches. Gyro was great. The Reuben was a work of art. They have a hot food menu that includes pizza. Their is a small seating area to eat at. The items are Eastern European, Germany,Poland, Russian, and other countries. Finally a good foodie place on the East side. I am going back this weekend for the pizza and some desserts. The cakes and pasties will blow you away. All the employees were helpful and knowledgeable . Check this place out before the hipsters start making parking hard to find.

Bought some dried fish Balichok... i normally buy it all the time but this time a third of it was missing same package same price less fish no notice of any kind .... thats the last time i buy fish from there again i feel like i got robbed because you cut down on product then do not notify your customers thats is a scam!

Do you need sausage? They has that. A beer you have not had before? Yup. This place is pretty great. Has mostly Eastern European grocery items, with a smattering of other regions. The meat is very good. The bakery section looks great. The sausages are my favorite. And, the biggest, and greatest pickle selection I have ever seen.

If you want east European/Slavic food and beer this is the place for you. They do translate to English and the color scheme is quite nice. Basically a grocery store transplanted from there to here

If youre looking for a decent selection of sausages, beyond the typical American varieties, look here, they also have a good selection of Dutch, German, and Eastern European food brands. Naturally they have many Russian brands in a wide range of categories. Well worth stopping in to see how you can expand your dinner menus for yourself & to surprise guests.

Great selection for deli and other quality goods

Today I visited CityMaxx for the first time for their soft opening. While there are still tags that need to be placed, and merchandise that needs to be stocked, you can see what amazing selection this store offers. The seafood is all sourced by Pacific Seafood, and the bakery from Euro Bakery. The prices are reasonable on most items, especially dairy and produce. The store was neat as a pin today, and the staff very friendly. I will be back!

I cant believe people would leave a low star review just because they hadnt opened yet! It is open now and I really enjoyed the place! Lots of new and different items to try. The deli smelled wonderful too. I purchased some smoke meat, candies, and imported beers and sodas to try for a get together.

Love this place! I always find something new and tasty when I visit. Piroshkis are big hit in my house. Lots of good Czech beer in thr cooler. The deli counter is fantastic. So glad they opened in my neighborhood!

The best Euro store in town.

Ive met some of the new staff here, and they seem to be very friendly and knowledgeable people with big plans for the location. This will be a very good thing for the neighborhood!City Maxx has a great selection of hard to find ingredients that I DEFINITELY cant find at Safeway. For those who like to experiment with new cuisine, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Russian grocery store. Hot food is delicious and priced well - day-old pierozhkis are only a dollar! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I come here once a week at least.

Majority of goods of Russian & little from elsewhere. Prices are OK. Facility nice & clean, employees are very helpful. Think of it as New Season with lower prices. Need help on the labeling part, like frozen fishes, couldnt tell what kind of fish it was. Now Russians have a supermarket in Portland, good luck.

Their slogan is shop locally. eat globally.. The store certainly does have loads of international foods! I did suffer from sticker shock because I was hoping this would be a reasonable alternative to Safeway but that is not what they are about. They have many items out for sampling in each section, the store was clean, still lots of empty shelves. The area that interest me most was the bakery, nothing appears to be made onsite but there is a large variety of items that you may not get to try without traveling. It is a unique store, go in and pick a couple of new items to try.The cashiers were not friendly, I was not greeted, the moment I walked in the door the cashier said can I look in your bag? I can understand checking bags when folks in this neighborhood are leaving but on their way in? strange.

Fantastic supermarket specialising in Eastern European products with a strong emphasis on the Russian community. Great interaction with employees who are kind and knowledgeable, could use a few Russian employees to be able to better explain the products to non natives. The selection is vast with pretty much anything you could want. Many products that I’ve never seen before or had the opportunity to purchase outside of Europe. Will make this place a regular stop for my grocery needs.
