Wow!!! If you are in need of an appraisal or have any questions about your gemstones or jewelry...please, please, PLEASE do yourself a favor and call or email PGL. After owning only mined/natural diamonds in my 42 years, I bought a larger lab diamond ring (sight unseen) online. I was hesitant to do so and somewhat wary of the certificate that came with it from the vendor. I emailed PGL, expecting it to take a while to hear back from anyone. Within 20 minutes, I had a text back and an offer to call me to set up an appointment. When I went in to drop my ring off (that same day!), Mark took the time to ask me about my purchase, what I was looking for when I decided on the stone & setting, and even showed me what my diamond looked like in one of their fancy machines! The next morning I received a call from Mark in which he spent time talking to me about my ring and diamond and his thoughts regarding it. I had recently purchased an engagement ring and band from an online seller, and I wanted to verify the quality/value of the pieces - for insurance purposes but also for peace of mind.I submitted an email on their site requesting a time to come in and have the rings appraised. Within a few hours I received a phone call, and appointment was set for the following morning.Both the ladies who work there are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Excellent service! Mark was very helpful, answered all of the many questions I had about two pieces of jewelry I brought in, both with sentimental value. One of the two pieces (my mothers wedding ring) had some damage to the gold band. I was able to conveniently have the band repaired by a jeweler in the neighborhood based on a referral from Mark, for only $30. After the repairs were completed, Mark made his assessment and sent me a very comprehensive appraisal of the piece for my records. I was very happy with the results and the affordability of the repair and appraisal combined. I highly recommend this business not only for their honesty, also for their efficiency.

I Went in for a simple appraisal on four pieces of jewelry And came out with so much more then expected. Instead of just taking my money and appraising the four pieces I bought to their shop. They decided to offered me guidance. They refused to appraise my items being that the cost of the appraisal would cost half of what the items were actually worth in total. They sit me down and gave me good solid on what I could do with the items o own. This is a company I will use for life. Their were extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient with me. I brought a number of pieces of estate jewelry to Mona Miller for sorting and review. What a great experience! She is lovely to work with, no pressure and no hard sell. She went through everything piece by piece and sorted it into different piles. We then reviewed a couple of pieces that I liked but not in their current form. We made a number of pendants from stones from rings, reworked post earrings into dangles, and rhodium plated 14k yellow gold pendants to white gold. I also had an old watch repaired. Been there three separate times over five or six years, ever since I was directed there by a jeweler in town. I think theyre great. Very detailed appraisal with objective assessment of stone quality and clarity. Theyre great for colored stones because they give the actual numerical color, with intensity, etc. Ive always found them to be knowledgeable and helpful. Ive had them look over anything I bought, and also anything I needed to take in for a repair elsewhere so I could be sure the same thing was coming back. I like that theyll also give you their opinion, if asked (Mona and Brad). For example, Ive asked if something I bought was a good value or not and they were very candid. I think I got a yes once and a well, you can do better. It gave me the confidence to shop for and buy some inexpensive jewelry online and know that I could have an expert look at it and corroborate the listing. Wish I had this kind of back-up for our used-car purchases.

I was looking to get my engagement ring appraised for insurance purposes and called several jewelry stores and they told me they would charge around 200 for the appraisal and would have to mail my ring in to their corporate office (would take a couple of weeks) which I definitely didn’t want to do.
