On our trip from California to Portland we tried a few breakfast joints but none compare to this place. The food and service were so amazing. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I ended up ordering the breakfast bagel with their feta cream cheese and it was bombπ₯! Heather was our server and she was wonderful. She was super nice and friendly. I cant get over how awesome this place is. Thanks for the great service and the yummy food!
HIDDEN GEM. A few minutes outside the heart of Portland, this is one breakfast place you do not want to miss. The small and well crafted menu truly shows that they value quality over quantity. The Pork-belly Eggs Benedict is to die for. Great portions and such a unique way to serve hash browns. Shoutout to the cook, Nick. He was all by himself due to staff shortage but still delivered all of the food in a timely manner. Our server Heather was very polite and didnβt mind conversing with us.
Ordered eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce and the pork belly were very good. The mashed yam, which I expected to be a side dish, was actually a layer in the eggs Benedict and it was absolutely awful. The bread itself was not an English muffin it was something that was very spongy and was not good for the purpose in my opinion.I will never eat there again.
We have dined at Otherside multiple times and have never been disappointed. Its the diner experience we love, but much better quality. Im always excited to see what specials they are offering and never leave without a side of hashbrowns, which are better than I thought hashbrowns could ever be! If you want great food, a solid cup of coffee, and fantastic service, this is the spot for you! (Please be extra kind to all the staff wherever you dine and tip them well- restaurants are all struggling with staffing issues and they doing their best!)
Hash browns and pancakes were the highlight, but everything was delicious.
Really nice breakfast. The service was fabulous. Heather was my waitress and she was friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend this business and will be back.
Really yummy food! Attentive waitstaff -all masked- clean, hand sanitizer provided. Great experience all around.
Ive been twice this summer, and both times did not disappoint. Delicious food. Classier than your typical diner.
Slow service. Ordered Allagash White and it wasnt cold. Ordered Lamb Gyro which was terrible. It was supposed to have Lettuce, cucumber and something else. It came in a pita with tiny bit of Lettuce and nothing else. The Lamb consisted of some type of sausage sliced in silver dollars and tasted like Spam only a bit less salty. Sad excuse of a gyro. The bill came to $58 for two gyros and 4 beers. 1st and last time there. Nobody ever asked how our meal was. Nobody ever asked if we wanted another beer. I had to go up to counter and ask for another beer. Stupidly expensive....lousy lamb!
Incredible food! The pancakes with citrus butter were delightful and the home made breakfast sausage was the best Ive ever had. Great service, well be returning soon for sure.
Might be the best breakfast food in Portland, high quality, great tasting, good service.Time to get food is a little on the longer side, but the wait is 100% worth it.
This place is great! Growing up in diners, these types of restaurants will always have a place in the restaurant industry! And The Other Side Diner is no exception. Please donβt let this place become a statistic. Support them anyway you can. Dine-in is as safe as it possibly could be and dine-out is always a great option too!
Ordered online, was given 20min wait time. Showed up after 15mins so waited in my car til the 20min ready time. Went inside, 2 customers were finishing their meals and my order hadnt been started yet. Decided to wait longer. 15mins later one customer left and my order STILL hadnt been started. Was now almost 20mins past my 20min wait time. Completely unimpressed with their lack of service.
The Otherside Diner always great food and friendly service.
I would equate this food to dog food but I wouldnβt even serve a dog this food. The mimosas were fire though.
Amazing Fried Chicken BLT! Great little spot.
Really friendly and responsive, comfortable atmosphere. Food is top notch. Lite and Mediterranean options. Ive wondered about the drinks, not my style before 3. Sometimes they advertise evening events
Friendly staff and great food!!
LOVE the Otherside Diner! A perfect spot to enjoy high end breakfast and lunch options in a relaxed, affordable, and family friendly setting! The menu has a wide variety and there are always yummy daily specials. The best part of Otherside is the staff, the hospitality and kindness are unmatched anywhere else in Portland. Bring your friends and family and enjoy!
Open just over a month this place is a hidden gem! Small menu done right. American classics with some Greek flair. Great coffee, brewed strong. Couple good local beers on tap. Convenient parking and accessibility. Definitely worth a visit - we will be back!
Incredible! Waffles were too good to describe, hash browns - amazing. The staff is super helpful and very nice! Clean, cozy and nice atmosphere. Definitely going to be going here again and again.
Keep your eye out for the other side!! Slamming breakfast π³ Great service cool atmosphere fresh food Iβm on it.
Very tasteful decor, classic diner style with a modern touch. Food is WELL above average, pro service. Excited to have an-Other Side spot in PORTLAND!
Good food and service but was told when I walked in that I couldnt have a bigger table when it wasnt that busy. And then another couple came in and were seated at a big table. Not very fair.
The service was better than the food. I asked if I could have onion added to my spinach and cheese omelette and if came filled with RAW onion. My husband got the Hercules breakfast and it was not worth the $16 price tag. The portion was small, and the eggs, sausage patty, and toast were neither flavorful or filling. The pancakes were the star of the show. There would be less to complain about if the prices were adjusted to the $7-9 range. However for $12 - $16, it is a severe let down. Stick to the pancakes.I can not stress enough though how awesome the staff was.
First off, I love The Other Side Deli! However, this offshoot was not to my flavor/food option liking. My fault is that I expected deli sandwiches like at the deli but with beer a nicer place to eat. 2 out of 3 aint bad. All else was wonderful. So yes, bagels and sandwiches, but there was more of a Greek thread to all the offerings and offerings were quite limited. I prefer limited offerings done well, just not this style. And, as I mentioned, I wanted a great deli sandwich like I coulda got at the deli! The people were awesome, too
Very nice service from waitresses who really seem to care. However the menu was rather narrow in options and not very straight forward. I order the pancakes and was shocked to find out they were really flat circular lemon cakes, which is fine if it said this on the menu as I would have ordered something else. Atmosphere was friendly and ascetically pleasing which helped drown out the problems with the pancakes, menu, and the rough bacon I couldnt bring myself to finish. Would recommend if you pass by but would not go out of your way.
Good food, great service.
The Otherside Diner has great food and great staff! They are knowledgeable and quick on their feet with service. Ive been 3 times and Ive left happy each time. The corned beef hash and pork confit stuffed hashbrown are so tasty youll want to come back again for them.
I dont get what all the good reviews are about. The lamb wrap was made with lamb that was cold and grizzly. The orzo salad was bland. The $5 ice tea ( no refills) was small and far from special. All of this would have been ok if it wasnt a $30lunch.The service was good
Only a four because the service was a bit less attentive then expected, especially since the place wasnt crowded when we were there. They are definitely a five star for food taste and quality.I had one of the breakfast specials, which was their version sausage and gravy, and it was delicious. The combination of the feta cheese and the jam was really unique. My wife had the falafel benedict and the sweet onions really made it a perfect plate. While not located in an area where there is an abundance of other restaurants, there is ample parking available and for anyone passing through Portland, its one minute off the highway. Anyone in the area should check out the Otherside Diner if youre looking for great food and something a little different than the basic diner fare.
The bagel breakfasts sandwich with fried egg and crispy pork belly was spectacular!
Ridiculously good food. Worth it if you have to wait for a table.
Not a very extensive menu but out of the 15 dishes on menu food was good
Great food, perfect portions, wonderful staff. My wife and I are huge fans of everything Other Side. The diner is no exception.
Amazing! Take all the good things about a diner, add local food and a dash of hipster.I chose the special, a Union Bagel with an egg, Candian bacon and a feta cream cheese. It was salty and chewy and eggy and cheese and in general, amazing. My husband and I split an order of the Greek donuts. Three small balls of dough, fried and then served with a honey cinnamon sauce. I would 100% go again!
Good food, good service and a comfortable environment. A little pricey.
My second visit. The burger with cheese, onions and bacon was strictly so... so. I need to try breakfast to make a good bang for the buck judgement.
Great food and service. Much better than other similar places from a quality and consistency standpoint.
Good food and great service! The inside is very clean and freshly renovated.
Good breakfast but they need more coffee choices
The deli is my go to place for sandwiches or fresh steaks and the diner lived up to that standard. So great.
2nd visit, I went back for the Spinach Omelette, was wooed by the classic Bennies. CBD coffee and attentive service. Happy they are in the hood.
Okay diner, good food and drink. Service is good too.
Glad I tried it. Corned beef hash was very dry. Pricey for the amount youre served. Good atmosphere & attentive waitress.
The food and service were both excellent.
Excellent quick service, good food, perfect bacon, and amazing hash browns.
Went for our first visit here today. We stood at the door for 10 mins without even an acknowledgement. Then, we waited over half an hour for the food, which could be understandable because it was fairly busy. Ordered the Hercules with a side of blueberry compote which did not arrive with the pancakes, nor did it ever come until we were finished with the meal. The portions were small for a $16 meal. I didnβt want the toast so the server offered me a fruit cup instead but never mentioned it was a $5 upcharge nor was that anywhere on the menu. Corned beef hash had no flavor. First and last visit for us.
Great food all the time
Decor is great with diner setting. Walked in around 8:20 And the place was empty. Waitress said to pick any table we wanted. We picked a table for 4. She then said oh not that table, pick any table for two. Lol so I guess not anywhere. When we left there were two people at the bar and two other people at another table for two. And ten or so empty tables. My husband made a special request for a scrapple, egg, and cheese sandwich. They said NO they would make the plate with all the ingredients but he would have to put together the sandwich. Really. He was so turned off he picked something different. His egg salad sandwich came on cold toast. The sandwich felt and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator over night.OSD will not have a second opportunity to win us over!
Great corn beef hash!
Hash and toast were toast were delicious!
Very delicious! I will be back.
Unique and delicious.
Best brunch in Portland
Pancakes were ok.
