Cute outdoor seating area, when you first see the place. Then when you enter, it is just amazing. Everything is fresh, the staff is friendly and informative on the items. The croissants and pastries were to die for. Went there twice on my trip to Portland and brought back a box of croissants to New Jersey

Delicious, worth the wait. Quiche jardiniere was delicious and clearly made with the best ingredients. Hazelnut dacquoise was the perfect combination of textures and rich flavors. Pear Bourgogne was delicious and fresh. Only one person serving the long line of Saturday morning customers which made for a long wait but it was worth it.

The pastries here will leave you with an escaped desire for flavor. I tried the strawberry rhubarb and apple bread pudding pastry and the flavors didnt necessarily tingle my sweet tooth senses. The rhubarb lacked its traditional tart, so the strawberries carried the entire pastry. The apple bread pudding had some delicious spots in it, but was mostly tasteless bread and bread pudding. It seems like these pastries have a theme of the very top layer carrying the extravagant flavor you come for, but the bottom 2/3 being empty calories you dont want.I realize that this place is in downtown Portland, so I should expect some high prices. But, at 5 bucks per pastry that seems a bit high for the quality of baked goods theyre selling. Maybe my palette wasnt ready for the subtle tastes and Im not the demographic that should eat here. The staff and establishment were very nice, so I would still recommend this place if youre in the area. They do have TONS of options in their baked goods arsenal.

Great classic popular French bakery. A bit on the pricey side for the product. However, I personally think they have the best desserts like eclairs, dacquoise, etc - very authentic and delicious. The bread and pastries are not as special as their desserts. Also, due to covid and allowing air circulation, sometimes flies may sit on some baked goods and seems to be difficult to prevent for now.

Super friendly staff! The food is absolutely incredible, they aren’t lacking variety in any way! Everything from sweet to savory. Very disappointing - got St. Honoré cake to go and its profiteroles were burned (see the photo), caramel layer was too thick and also burned, felt like it’s easy to break teeth with that. Tasted burned. I don’t understand how whoever made it didn’t feel embarrassed to actually let it being sold.

You are a lucky person to live in this city near a gem like this bakery. We ended up here after smelling them baking something fresh. They had a great seating area inside and outside for those hanging out for a while. The bread smelled amazing!

5 out 5! If I could give St. Honoré more stars I would. We spent a wonderful brunch in the outdoor seating under the sun. We had a Brie Bartlett panini, hazelnut chocolate croissant, opera sponge cake, and apple torte. Everything was so delicious, flakey, and satisfying at very reasonable prices for the quality of French pastries. Staff were friendly and quick! When we arrived behind a line of at least 8 groups outside we were thinking about leaving but after about ten minutes we were in and we were so glad we waited.

Hmm... So so experience as a person visiting from another state. All over the country masks mandatory are almost dropped. But no here they give you so much attitude about it. And talking not good behind your back either...Food is ok, nothing special to come back for. We got sweets & croissants with eggs, cheese but they didn’t even heat it.But wait for it! They let customers out through their garbage exit! Hello, really?! This is just absolutely ruining the whole impression about the place in general. Who’s idea was that?!Don’t recommend the place.

Perfect bakery and cafe in NW portland with a French flair serving wonderful pastries, breads, treats and also lunch and prepared breakfast. I wanted to keep it simple and therefore, just bought an olive and fennel bread roll with my house coffee. The breads are crunchy, chewy and fresh, and you can see a baker baking bread in the open kitchen. The place fills up during peak hours and so finding a place to sit can be a challenge. But that just further shows the popularity and quality of this place. A great place for awesome hot beverages and decadent and hearty desserts. Highly recommended.

*WARNING ABOUT ORDERING OFF GOOGLE* - I ordered through the Place an Order function on Google Maps. Arrived at St Honoré and apparently the order (which I guess is done through partnership with Google and Postmates?) hadnt gone through - this seems to happen regularly enough. St Honoré were very apologetic about something that was not their fault and I paid in cash - but Postmates still charged me, even though St Honoré hadnt received the order and certainly hadnt marked it as picked up, which Postmates for some unknowable reason did. Weeks later and I havent received any reply from Postmates, so they essentially stole $20 from me and put St Honoré in a very weird position. The pastries here are absolutely great - its a lovely sunny spot, too! You honestly cant go wrong with anything on their menu, never had a bad bite from them 😍 just dont order using Google Maps or Postmates!!!

Let me start by saying we love French bakeries and we have several favorites, which we visit regularly. This one was quite honestly a disappointment. We were in town for a family getaway and were looking forward to a good coffee and pastry for breakfast. I would have given five stars because everything in here is amazing and most of the staff are very friendly and polite but today I got some very bad vibes from the two female bakers, shaping bread on the very publicly visible baking bench. It’s a total bummer because I want to support female bakers; however, these two made me feel so unwelcome watching them kneed and shape that I wondered why they weren’t in the back away from the customers. My dad is an oil painter who is regularly working on something, and he’s always friendly when someone approaches to watch him partake in his craft. Even when his 73 year old self is tired, he’s still always friendly and will at least say hello to observing customers. It seemed as if the two bakers were pretending I wasn’t there observing what they were working on as they began passive aggressively saying the following loud enough for me to hear, “Im so glad I didn’t have to learn with people watching me” and the other replied by complaining about the questions people ask while they are baking. I don’t understand how they could not see that as totally rude and such a turn off to the whole business. I walked away immediately after hearing this and they both continued to keep their heads down.My hope in writing this is that they could try to be more friendly to their customers. I’ve worked in retail, I’ve worked in the service industry and I know that unless the customer is being a jerk, it’s best to be polite or friendly as opposed to passive aggressive.
