I completely agree with all the reviews. The girls at the counter never acknowledged us until it was close to closing. Their attitude is that they are doing us a favor by letting us buy tile. Every tile selection comes with a custom order surcharge. I came back a second time to see if things had changed and it was just as bad. I will not be back. If you are looking for marble slabs it is even worst. They will not quote you a price only your installer can know.

As folks have noticed, not very customer friendly...But, I think people have to realize is that we are not their customers. The installer / fabricator is their customer. I suspect if a fabricator says the Smiths are coming in (especially if the Smith job is $$$$) they will get a much friendlier reception.That said: Lots of stone, looks high quality, nobody was actually impolite. If my installer said I use them I wouldnt run away.But if left up to us wed use their competitor down the street or across town.They look profitable enough that I dont think they are losing sleep over the fact that some of their business does.

No matter when I have visited the showroom, the front office staff seem too busy chit-chatting and complaining to acknowledge a customer. I have always felt like Im intruding when I approach the desk with a question and they act like its not in their job description to answer. Is it really hard?All I can say is that while their showroom has some cool tiles and slabs, its pretty easy to go elsewhere and get better service.

I concur with others responses regarding poor service at Intrepid. The receptionists never left their chairs during my hour visit, as they entertained themselves with videos and personal conversation. The four other wholesale stores I visited all had roaming professionals offering assistance. When we approached Heather with a question, she said the information is on the sample, and the measurement is on the packaging (which she discovered it wasn’t), and seemed reluctant to look up such things as availability of products (I had to ask her several times-really). Too bad this nice showroom has uncooperative and condescending people representing them. But the products are nice-just prepare for self-service.

The best service, the highest quality, the most beautiful Quartzite (and granite and marble). Drew the owner cares about you the customer. We bought our gorgeous Austr Dream Quartzite from him- it came from Australia and was processed in Italy before it arrived here! Quartzite is not quartz- quartzite is a real rock like granite is- quartz is man made. We just are not granite fans but wanted real stone- then we found quartzite- it’s stunning as is Intrepid’s service!

~ The Best Free Wood In Portland! ~~ I have built a village in the forest and now Im building a camper on top of my car thanks to this company, and its nice to know Im helping them save money too, because I take away from the pile of wood they would have to otherwise pay to haul off and dump.~ Its the best free wood in Portland because its used to transport marble not chemicals, so its clean and quite large, about 4FTx11FT, big enough to tackle any project! I personally find them perfect for building tiny homes, definitely great foundation pieces as is, and can be torn apart and or cut for everything else.

My husband and I had a great experience working with Drew at Intrepid and highly recommend checking them out! I was really impressed with the showroom and it blew me away when Drew took us into the warehouse to look at all the different stone options. Were currently in the process of redesigning our kitchen island and were completely overwhelmed with the type of stone we should select. I showed a picture of our kitchen to Drew which included our back splash and current counter-tops. Right off the bat, Drew knew what our back splash was, even carried it in stock so we could hold it up to the different stones (really impressive given our home was built in 2009). He spent time educating us on the different types of stones and even gave us recommendations on what stone would be best given what we were looking for. Drew helped make an overwhelming decision fun and easy. Thank you Intrepid!

The man at willcall was very nice and knowledgeable. He made sure I was getting the best product for my job and recommeneded other useful products that could make my tools last longer.

My wife and I recently commenced with a full remodel of our kitchen. Our designer suggested we visit Intrepid Stone to view surface and backsplash options. Drew and his team were very helpful in educating us on the pros and cons of the various surface options and we could not be happier with our selection.

We looked at tile for a kitchen backsplash And found excellent selection in excellent help from The sales person.

I have never given a negative review, but this store deserves a comment. I went there to buy a cleaning and sealer for my Marble counter top. I was suspicious of the price of the Sealer I bought so I checked the Internet a few days after I bought it. It turns out, I was charged twice the retail price of other stores I checked. Im looking to buy flooring for my kitchen and utility rooms, but after that experience, I will go elsewhere.

The red headed woman was unpleasant and impatient. I like their products but didnt like the service at all. So dolifferent from mother stores we sent to on our trip to Portland!
