Dont know if the store would possibly rate better, Im sure it would. However, one may not know, if they were to arrivesay,, on a day,, like today for example.. Say one had driven a good distance for the sole purpose of shopping @ this particular shop, only to find that this store is NOT CURRENTLY OPEN UNTIL 6PM, like it states on its website. Nope, they are actually CLOSED. & besides from the locked doors, they left a mere note taped to the inside of the storefront door, stating that this shop is CLOSED for the next 3 days, none of which was updated or posted on the site itself. Kind of a bummer, all the wasted time & effort. Especially so close to X-Mas. My time couldve been much better spent elsewhere.
Holly was amazing! My friend went in with a wig that was gifted to her, as she is going through chemo, and Hilly spent an hour with us discussing options and care advice, recommended a wig stylist and was just absolutely patient, honest, and knowledgeable. What a wonderful experience.
I was so happy with Kay’s friendliness, patience and positivity! She was willing to take lots of time with me and go the extra mile. I thought for sure I might be driving her crazy but if I was she sure didn’t show it. Also was happy with Holly. I’ll be going back again!
I’ve been in this store twice to purchase wig caps, and both times the woman working there made me feel like I wasn’t worth the price of the $5 cap. She was incredibly rude, questioning my need for the cap, asking me if my wig was “cheap” and that was why I needed a cap. She was only pleasant to me after I paid. I’d love to ask questions about the wigs in the shop, but I just don’t want to engage with her.
I always love coming in here. The shop feels like an oasis from the bustle and busyness of the surrounding area.The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in getting me the products I need. The owner always takes the time to walk me through a variety of products, listening to what i am looking for and making expert recommendations. i absolutely love the Daily Moisturizer w/ SPF.
My husband and I went to Merle Norman in August 2011 to just see. What a fun time tried on several colors and styles and fell in love with one. Went out on a date with wig, new dress, new make-up. Great time. So since then we have been back and purchased four (4) more hair pieces. They are so much fun. The girls at Merle Norman are so easy to work with, and help style each hairpiece when you put it on and they know what looks good and what isnt quite right and they work with you on colors and cuts. My husband and I both enjoy going in and designing a new look for a fun new date night. I love the change and I enjoy the way they go out of their way to make the experience special. Come to think of it, I think Im due for another visit this month. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to change their look, or style or just to see what would look good before they cut their own hair. Go girls go!!!
I’ve been in this store twice. The first time was bad enough I wrote the company hoping they would do something about the poor customer service. (I really mean the service, not products). I went in a second time to purchase the foundation and moisturizer for which I was given samples. I was prepared to spend quite a bit of money on other products. When I got there the same woman was there (I’m guessing she is the owner). She fetched the products I requested and immediately went to ring them up even though I was asking about other products. At the second request to see another product she bluntly apologized for rushing me out of the store saying she just had a very valuable shipment arrive that she needed to inventory and needed to leave early for a family function. She repeatedly mentioned the cost of the inventory and how important it was. One would think in such a customer service oriented business the customer standing in front of you, prepared to spend money on more products, should be priority. One could argue simply hiring a second person to help at such times would be wise, but after the way she has treated numerous customers I would imagine finding employees might be difficult. I went to visit family in another state a couple months later. While there I went to another MN with the friend who initially suggested MN. She wanted to look at a wig. (Sadly) The customer service was, by comparison, was phenomenal. I now pay a 10% premium to have that store ship products directly to me (the extra cost comes from their state sales tax).Of note: it seems by looking through the comments that the positive reviews are several years old. The severely negative reviews are more recent. I’m guessing the franchise was purchased by someone who knows nothing of customer service.

I have been a long time customer and am very pleased with the product and quality of customer service I have received. I dont usually go to the trouble of posting a review, but just recently needed help with finding a solution to a personal issue and was thrilled with the attention and results that were met by the staff at this store. I felt it deserved public recognition. I will continue to support this particular Merle Norman knowing an existing one is located much closer to my home.
They were very helpful with my wig purchase on two separate occasions. The sales associate spent endless time helping me try on many different wigs until i found theright one. I was so satisfied the first time i went back six weeks later to get a second wig. You can get wigs cheaper online but you really have to try them on you see if you are found to like them.
Over the years Ive been going to Merle Norman, numerous times theyve been out of my product and have to send it to me in the mail. Takes weeks to receive it, even though the shipment was supposed to arrive in 1-2 days. For example, I purchased my product on January 17, 2018--it is now almost February 2nd and I still have yet to see it. I pay way too much money to wait that long. My foundation has been out for a week now. I will probably be switching to a different product because Im tired of this happening over and over again.
The woman who I assume is the owner is very rude and disrespectful. She had the audacity to ask if I had enough money to pay for her $300 wig. You never question a customer or someone if they have enough money. I ignored her comment, then later said the wig I wanted to try on wouldnt look good with my face and skin color.Definitely would not recommend to anyone, unless theyre ready to be judged by their physical appearance and skin tone.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE OWNER. I was super excited that I found this store. so I called and tried to ask a question about her business and she was horribly rude and too busy to even listen to my question. Told me she would call me back and then changed her mind and hung up on me. This is why people dont support local/self owned businesses. Every gets busy but its not the end of the world to try and be courteous or even professional.
Horrible customer service !! The lady was really insensitive and rude. She made my sister whos undergoing chemo tear up from her rude attitude. She kept yelling every time my sister touch the wig. She had an excuse for everything, everything was sold yesterday or its your heads fault it doesnt look good. I was blown away with their lack of customer service. Unsure if they are trying to sell the wigs or purposely pushing people away so they can sleep at night with all the wigs.
Customer service is horrible!!! I like the makeup and have been getting it for serval years, but every time I need a to buy more, I have to prep myself before going in because I know the person will be insensitive, rude, and degrading. Is it too much to ask to give me the makeup I ask for without sharing her unsolicited opinion about everything I say or do regarding my looks and makeup choices. There is another location on the West Side and it might be worth the drive.
I came in to try on some wigs, since I have never wore one before and am losing my hair with chemo. The portly woman who helped me asked first thing if I was buying a wig today. I wasnt sure, but I wanted to try a few on to see what I have to look forward to in the near future. Her response was: if youre not buying a wig, Im not going to waste my time trying a bunch of wigs on you.Needless to say, I wont be purchasing anything from someone with an attitude like that.
