Wonderful place to come for that first cup of coffee of the day. Great coffee and my 8 year old son says it was the best hot chocolate he has ever had (and he is an expert).Baristas are great and the bagels are really good also.Highly recommend!
Great little coffee shop on my main walking path.
I had given up on having a really good coffee on Woodstock. Yesterday we walked down just to get out of the house. I ordered a cappuccino Wow!!!! It was outstanding. Smooth and delicious. I went back today to be sure. New barista but same awesome cappuccino. They use Coava coffee and the baristas have skills. I’ve lived in Woodstock for over 20 years. Seen lots of owners and coffee shops over the years. So happy to have walkable local awesome coffee again.
Cute shop and friendly barista. Coffee is great!
I’m sorry but anyone willing to screw people over like the way you did your staff during this time. You don’t deserve a business. You deserve to go under and suffer the hardships you inflicted on your staff.
With so many coffee places in the Woodstock area I am always trying new spots. They had good drip coffee and they serve chai from drangonfly. This is the spot if you dont want to travel to NW. Try the breakfast sandwich. It was great! I will definitely be going back.
Open early. Nice side porch. They always have a new guest roast which I love tasting, and FREE refills on brewed coffee! Great vibe on the inside and always solid customer service. Ive been going here for years now.
The barista, Cameron, is always a delight!
Friendly server, excellent medium roast coffee and the wifes latte was the perfect level of flavor and sweetness. Great place to stop and get a cup of coffee in the Woodstock area.
Coffee was quite good. The place did not look anything like the posted pictures. Not as cheery or nice as the pictures make it look.
These guys are simply the best. good taste in coffee roasters, and enough turn over in coffee merchandise that you can actually buy decently fresh whole beans here. best coffee shop in Portland.
Its and amazing lace to hunker down and work for a couple hours. They have free refills in the classics and their teas are very good as well. Plus the baristas are really nice and its easy to engage with the regulars that come.
Im not entirely sure what they put in their hot chocolate recipe, but its amazing and it doesnt taste like the hot chocolate Ive had anywhere else. Hot chocolate is the main thing I usually get here because sometimes I have a craving for First Cup hot chocolate specifically that cant be satisfied anywhere else.
Its ok in a pinch. Since new ownership, its got sort of a soulless vibe. Thankfully a lot of the staff have remained employed, which saves it a bit. The prices went up and the cup size options went down. No 20oz anymore. I avoid going here mostly, but will grab a cup in a pinch.
Excellent coffee, bagels and pastries. I love their salt bagels! I also enjoy looking at the art they display by local artists
The coffee I make in my Camry (Lavaza and a French press) tastes less burnt/better. I can make it for 1/20 the price! Teach me to be lazy and not refuel.
So, you fired your entire staff because they wouldnt work during the crisis, and you managed to tell unemployment that they refused work. Hows that new staff going to work out for you?
First Cup always serves up a great cup. Their patio is lovely and the interior clean. I have to admit I dont come here when Im in a hurry. However, when I want a great cup of coffee and to chill I visit First Cup. I enjoy bringing my pup and relaxing on the patio. Since pups cant come inside your fur friend needs to be comfortable with a few minutes tied up outside while you order.
Decent seating, good number of outlets on the seats along the walls, and the chai latte was pretty good!
Still the best place to get a mocha. soy milk, almond milk. hot, iced. Ive been going here for 6yrs 💜
Short wait, beautiful cup of coffee and an awesomely friendly barista can make a Sunday morning awesome. First Cup provided all of this and made my experience pretty awesome! Would definitely come here again.
Im a mocha person, which is nicely done here. Add in delicious whole wheat everything bagel that have the right texture and flavor THEN I am really happy. But wait! Theres more... friendly staff and nice outside seating area.
Great place. Great coffee and bagels. Good baked goods. Good seating. Nice outdoor deck.
This is a fantastic place to get a cup of coffee and a bagel. The staff here are wonderful and it always seems to be busy. Its also a great hangout spot for studying and reading.
It is a good place to have an outing with your friends and spend good time. Food is tasty and service is really quick.
First Cup is one of the many reasons we love Woodstock. For seven years, we have been regular patrons- good coffee, tasty pastries (the breakfast sandwich addition was a game changer), and wonderful baristas. Anita and Mel have created an inviting and comforting space- whenever we have company, we always bring them to FC. Once, I accidentally left my ID on the counter- it was in my mailbox with a nice note before I even knew it was missing. Anita goes above and beyond to get to know her patrons. Can’t rave enough about what an integral part of this community they are.
Wonderful bagels here! The bagel breakfast sandwich was very good. Coffee & service exceptional.
My first experience was yesterday on Christmas Eve. I walked in, and should have immediately listened to my instincts and left due to the horrible aroma that permeated the air making breathing unpleasant. The coffee had a terrible and unfamiliar taste (different than burned), and the bagels had very little flavor. I actually started to wonder if the water was contaminated as the coffee reminded me of the terrible odor of the shop. I try to support local places but I will not be going back.
Stopped here for a quick coffee before heading to the mountain and I will be going back! Great London Fog
Such a great fun place!Good coffee and amazing bagels! Such fast fun service. Good people inside and out.Only gave 4 stars for limited parking.
Outstanding bakery with a large variety of sweet and savory items. Coffee is strong, fresh and always hot! Dog water always available with fantastic outdoor seating! Customer service is exceptional!
Cool little place in Woodstock. Coffee was good and the bagels are awesome.
My favorite coffee place on Woodstock. Coffee is solid and Cafe is right amount of laid back.
I am only in Portland for a week once a year and my morning visits to First Cup Coffee House is one of the things I look forward to the most. The baristas welcome everyone who comes in--many who they know by name and beverage preference. Since I love in a community where Starbucks rules, being in a true neighborhood coffee house is definitely a treat.
Delicious coffee and food. Friendly staff. Good WiFi. Plenty of seating. Smoking allowed on the outdoor patio.
One place. You just need one. Where you feel comfy, cared for, remembered. Its like the Cheers of coffee!
Friendly staff and fast service. Great location too!
Perfectly good coffee place, doesnt have a ton of seating but it does have parking!
Great neighborhood coffee shop. Good music, interesting baristas and customers, fantastic rotating coffees from local roasters and nice selection of pastries. Bagels are some of the best in town from Chain Bridge Bakery, with a variety of toppings avaliable. The house bagel sandwich with ham, egg, arugala and smoked paprika aioli is a neighborhood staple.
Neighborhood cafe. Nice bagels!
Lovely atmosphere! And I appreciate all the different seating options. Had the apple Chai, cider and Chai mixed. Different! And tasty. Loved their bagels, too. This is on my list for meeting up with writer friends for writing dates.
Great coffee, good bagels. Super nice staff.
Very good gluten free and dairy free options. They are good at hiring super nice baristas.
The barista Morgan is excellent! Hes creative and friendly. His coffee making skills are elite.
Good coffee, nice outdoor seating, limited milk alternatives for the almond, hemp and coconut milk seekers out there. There are gluten-free pastry and cookie alternatives, though.
Mel and Anita are the best. They hire the best friendly people to make great coffee and food
So I am a little torn here. I had been coming here like every other day for coffee and they have awesome pastries and I was digging the customer service. Today I went in and I think it will be my last visit. I walked in about seven minutes to 5. One person in line, their coffee was almost done being made. The open sign was still on and people were still in the cafe area. The barista looked at my girlfriend and I and said just so you know, we close at 5 with a bit of an attitude. I looked back at the clock on their wall and it read five till. Now, I understand maybe it is not the coolest move to walk in a minute before close, but, five minutes is plenty of time for an Americano. I was pretty bummed at this treatment and just left. Had there been a follow up you are good, just wanted to let you know then this would be a different review. I went to Pappaccinos down the street and I will probably continue to do so as the customer service there was excellent. Again I am totally bummed because the service at First Cup usually is great. Even from the girl with the retro glasses who pulled this move today. Maybe she was having a bad day, but, she certainly did not make mine any better and lost a regular because of it. What a bummer.
Great patio, cold brewed coffee is great. Quiet environment makes for a relaxed place to study/read.
Best bagles ever!! Also upper left coffee is delicious, if they have that available, get it! One thing tho, bring back the jalapeño bagles, I miss them so much:(
Good stuff. Been going there for years.
Cozy neighborhood coffeeshop.
Nice place to sit and read. Bring your own cup all they have is paper.
My first time here. The barista looks like he hated being there and I get it--its a national holiday. A girl walked in at 4:30pm, 30 min before closing and was told that the Expresso machine has been cleaned and she left without even opening her mouth to order. (They close at 5pm). But another guy walked in 5 min before closing and the barista was super friendly (maybe he is a friend) and was able to get something still. I felt not welcomed here--like I was interfering with someone who wants to leave and close the shop. Even if the stuff is good I probably wont come back.
Where locals gather to talk, read the paper, and enjoy a good espresso drink or cup of coffee and pastries.
Great costumer service!! The food is good too!
Great coffee, great service... the hand pies and home baked cookies are delicious!
Nice quiet setting for wifi and coffee.
Friendly folks serving up great coffee! Love love love the Toddy Diablo, delightfully refreshing.
Whats you up to
Its a staple for us when we visit Portland, great place!
The breakfast bagel, with Ottos sausage is one of favorite breakfast sandwiches anywhere.
Not the best baristas, but decent. Prices are a little high, in my opinion. Id rather go down the street to one of the other coffee shops.
Yeah its not a problem at all
Stumptown coffee, great atmosphere, outside seating, and very friendly baristas make this a great place to go to grab a coffee to go or just hang out and kill time.
The breakfast sandwich is delicious.
Always a lovely stop for a bagel and coffee.
Nice quiet spot, hope their coffee was better quality.
Incredibly poor service.
The shop itself is nice...good wifi, lots of seating, good for getting work done or studying. Stumptown, not my favorite bean...should invest in training the baristas
This is a good cup of coffee, enough said!
My favorite cafe in Portland. I wish I still lived in the area! Id be here every day.
Great coffee and service! Just wish they had a drive through.
Great coffee, bagels, and friendly staff in the heart of Woodstock.
COffe HOuse of CHoice !
Great atmosphere and coffee!
Love my neighborhood coffee spot!
Its a coffee shop. New Moms hang out. So not very metal, but good for a heavy day?
Nice coffee, friend oeople
Burned espresso, burned milk.... Yeah, I wont be returning here.
Fast friendly service.
Best coffee shop on Woodstock.
Not a ton of seating on the weekend but the coffee is consistently good.
Delightful, well recommended.
Good overall.
Great service
Amazing coffee place!
Yuck, coffee tasted burnt.
Best coffee
