This review is for the Apple Fritter only: 4.5 StarsFirst glance through the glass you notice the evenly darkened and crisp edges of this moderately sized fritter. Each one was well proportioned to the next, hats off for the standardization, as all are created equal. I believe there are 4 key components of a fritter and Delicious Donuts practically nails them all.Price: As of this writing $2.50, for a large city where prices are generally higher, this is a steal compared to the competitors Blue Star and Voodoo with their +$4.00 over priced ones. 5 StarsPresentation: Glistening dark brown glaze, above average size with a perfect crisp edge for that slight crunch effect paired with that tasty greasy nugget that tears off in the bite size morsel. 5 StarsProduct: As far as I can tell they use a specific glaze seasoned with apples and perhaps a hint of cinnamon, a step above most shops. At first tear you will notice quality ingredients with nice portions of tasty apple chunks equally distributed throughout. There is a stratification of crispy glazed shell, soft moist gooey layer typically where the apples are, and an almost cake like center. If there would be one negative (personal preference) this gooey layer would continue through to the center of the fritter…this is no easy feat. In all, the cake like center works well and absorbs the milk just fine. 4.5 StarsPoundage: Although the size is hardy the donut is not a true gut bomb. It’s deceivingly light when compared to the appearance. It’s not an overly gnarled; craggily fritter which those bumps are loaded with extra grease, and the absence of the gooey center all subtract from the overall weight and extra goodness. 4.5 StarsOverall a true winner in the fritter category, and if this is your go to donut its worth the visit. Don’t buy into the hype of Blue Star and Voodoo, hit this family run gem instead you won’t regret it.

A solid donut place. Best donuts in Pdx in 2018 and depending on you preference, theyre still the best. They have all the standard donuts. The apple fritter is legit. They also have donut bread pudding of various flavors that change daily. Pretty quick getting in and out of there. They also serve sandwiches and burritos but I havent sampled that menu. You cant go wrong with any donut at this place!

From the moment we walked in, we received nothing but the best customer service.There were many donuts to choose from. We went with the old dirty man and original twisted glaze. The texture was so incredibly soft and fluffy on both. One of the best donuts I have ever tried!The breakfast burrito was delish and caramel lattes were made just right👌🏼

Delicious Donuts is absolutely the best donut place in SE Portland. It bridges that gap between gimmicky (like Voodoo and Blue Star which are not worth it) and cheaper standard ones like Heavenly (which are still good but Delicious is better). Well worth the money!!

I looked up the reviews here and they were glowing, so I decided to sneak a visit here.I ordered online and when I got there 10 minutes later it was ready and waiting for me. Decided to eat in and I was glad I did. The owner was very nice and personable, and made me feel at home.The burrito was great, along with the chocolate eclair. I also had a blended iced latte there, and the texture and flavor were excellent.The pricing here is a fraction of the overhyped, bigger donut names. Comparing the apple fritter I got here against Voodoo, I would definitely go with this every time.Im happy to see minority-owned, minority employed businesses thriving. This will be one of my first stops when I come back to Portland!

These donuts are delicious! I saw good reviews about them and decided to give them a shot while heading out of town. They had a small parking lot and a steady line. All the donuts looked good and I was delighted to see a donut shop with “regular” donuts for once. I got the chocolate covered old-fashioned and a maple bar. The maple bar was amazing! The maple had great flavor and my wife was jealous that she didn’t get one with maple. The old-fashioned was good, but didn’t impress like the maple bar. I didn’t try the coffee and probably should have. My wife wasn’t as impressed with her glazed and cake sprinkle donuts. Definitely try the maple and it will make you happy.

No non-sense breakfasts, priced great and without all the excess fluff. They sometimes have free donut specials, and the donuts are the best of Portland. Amazing staff, very wholesome, welcoming. Love it here. Not a lot of room for parking, but lots circling the block. This is my new Portland go-to.

Weve been trying all the donut shops in San Francisco and decided to try a couple in Portland and Seattle while visiting. This place has the best apple fritter than everywhere else so far! Our other donut and the breakfast burrito were tasty too. Coffee was a little too hot.

I’m a local for 20 years and Have eaten a lot of donuts in my life, many in Portland. These are without a doubt in my mind the very best donuts. I’m partial to unassuming, tucked-away places, run by the owners, with food made from the heart (you can just tell) and this has it all. I lived nearby for quite a while, went as often as my hours and theirs made it possible. I live downtown now but make the short trip across the bridge just for their donuts. Very fresh, absolutely delicious and a joy to eat. Seriously. I usually get two but one of the larger ones is practically a whole meal, no bloat, no guilt. It isn’t tourist-logged, prices are low, it’s not a chain, the cook-owners are great people. Get in there.

I usually dont have much to contribute that hasnt been said &/or the experience is often not sufficient to elicit either a negative or positive review. I think Portlands food consultancies are to blame. They demand so much upfront cost for their work and for aesthetics that entrepreneurs are left with no wiggle room to experiment on their actual creations and need to charge a premium for basicsThat said, I dont even care if Im repeating what others have said about Delicious Donuts. Their Donuts are, indubitability, DELICIOUS, dude... Dig? But they do so much more than donuts.My advice? Start with the standard fritter, which, for $2.50 serves 2, comfortably. Now, if youre eating your feelings like I am, these days, you can certainly eat one on your own but if you make a habit of that youll need to budget in the cost of a new wardrobe. Honestly. Theyre huge!The fritter is a perfect combination of soft & crispy knots of cinnamon & sugar colored dough with a misleadingly dark exterior. Dont be fooled. Whats happened is the exterior has been carmalized to perfection. This accounts for the crispy bits once they cool - its basically candied. If you show up early enough it radiates with heat and the experience is equally good.Whats more? They have full on, more rounded breakfast menu items such as sandwiches, burritos and omelets. The Aiden breakfast sandwich is a mere 4 bucks. Its a bacon/sausage, egg & cheese on an English muffin or donut (if youre savage) The burrito is a cool $6.25... and unlike so many other places, they use hash browns - not potato chunks. So much better!They also have an 8 item vegan menu with half those items being $4 or less!I guess what blows this place off the charts, for me, so much as to compel me to write a review are a few aspects:1. Their space is humble, tiny, easy to overlook. Not quite a hole in the wall but it feels like a secret. Like they could be right under your nose but you might not even realize it. Theyre sandwiched between a Plaid Pantry & OReilly Auto Parts in a space that Im pretty sure was a Dominos Pizza.2. The makeup of the staff. Its refreshing. I dont mean to make anything racial. I just like seeing a diverse staff. In my experience, a petite male and female of Asian decent and a strapping guy of African decent run the show. The fellas seem to work the tiny kitchen. The lady runs the counter. I just love it!

I got the blueberry cream cheese one and the apple cream cheese one. I like the tanginess of the blueberry one much better and find the apple one more sweet. I think this place was average the donuts werent as fluffy as I would like.Would like I more if the spice tastes was higher!

Absolutely delicious, got a bakers dozen tried multiple different types, Apple fritter, Apple bearclaw, chocolate bar, raise chocolate donut, A cinnamon Swirled, And one of their fruity pebble donuts. All really good even the second day the donuts are still soft and yummy! Haha definitely recommend, also know what you want they can be busy and you can feel a bit rushed.

I rarely get excited about donuts, but I passed thru Portland and the buttermilk bar I had from here was excellent. That was 6 months ago, and I cant stop thinking about it! Not too sweet, looks pretty plain, but it had an excellent tangy flavor. I didnt even know I liked buttermilk!Ive been going around trying buttermilk donuts at other places, but they dont compare. Ill be back someday!

I was in strictly for a apple fritter ended up with a ice cream donut and a Long John and let me tell you that apple fritter was very delicious very well-made and I would do it again for a dozen of those to hand out to people who have never enjoyed a very delicious apple fritter the chocolate ice cream donut that I enjoyed was very kinky and the chocolate was very chocolatey it was very good with a hot cup of their coffee the staff is very nice and courteous and welcomed us all the way from Minneapolis and was very thankful for choosing them as our donut destination very small place but very nice people get in there and pay an Apple Fritter forward and tell em T-Bone sent you!

The owners are both very kind and friendly. The doughnuts they make are the best in Portland in my opinion. They also have great Coffee and the prices of everything is very fair. Try the bagel breakfast sandwiches also those are my favorite. If your Vegan, they have Vegan doughnuts also. You wont find a better doughnut in Portland. I think they also have Keto friendly doughnuts but Im not positive on that.

I love blind taste tests... happened to have 3 old fashioned donuts to compare. One from Joes in Sandy, another from Heavenly, and the last donut from Delicious that was actually bought from Brewed Awakenings in NE Portland. 3 different people sampled them, blindly, and each felt that the Delicious old fashioned donut WON. I highly recommend these kinds of research studies, and I also highly recommend Delicious Donuts. And now to find my way to their shop to see what other goodies they have.

Favorite traditional donut shop. Quality made donuts that are truly delicious! I love all their cake donuts, I always get double chocolate with peanuts, chocolate with coconut, and cinnamon sugar. The vegan donuts are yummy as well, they taste the same to me! And the apple fritters are amazing! So crispy and the perfect amount of apple. Very friendly staff too.

Gross, took almost 7 minutes to make a cappuccino start to finish and it was scalded and awful. Blueberry cake donut was really disappointing, greasy.
