Fantastic roastery, excellent barista staff (experts and also nice!), very willing to chat ins and outside of coffee. Among the top coffee shops in Portland, a high bar to begin with.
Normal coffee is overpriced, lattes are not hot they are luke warm, customer service is short and not great. Overall and expensive experience for not a great product.
The coffee is transformative.I went from thirsty and tired to less thirsty and tired thanks to those angels behind the bar.
Excellent coffee! We are so lucky to have Capitola in the neighborhood.
Great coffee and great service. Also love the walk-up concept right now because it means I can easily stop by with my dog on my morning walks 😊
Great coffee shop. The coffee, the service, the ambiance. GREAT! Go here...you will quickly become a regular.
I stopped in this morning, ordering a vanilla latte. I’ve previously stopped by for coffee, but on my first time ordering a flavored latte I must say it was bland and didn’t have any sweetness or vanilla-taste at all. I’m not sure if that’s how Capitals Coffee intended for their vanilla latte to be, but just be aware.
Love this place. So friendly and welcoming! Everything about this small space is cozy and inviting to do the things you need for yourself. Read, sit, study, enjoy!
I visited Capitola with a friend. We enjoyed the warm and inviting atmosphere as well as the excellent service. How nice that people here know about coffee itself and the lands where it comes from. Coffee is not just a product but the journey from the plants in other lands to our mouths. The coffee is richly spiced-toned and intense. At the heart of aroma is a sweet-savory structure with engaging, bright acidity. My favorite is the cortado with oatmeal milk. It is divine!
I absolutely love this place. They manage the rare trifecta of great coffee, friendly and unpretentious baristas, and excellent tea. Their drip coffee is really good, and they have a high tech machine for pour over. I feel very lucky to have it a couple blocks from my house.
Ok- Heres the deal: the whole place is teal! Or at least a deep robins egg blue. If youre feeling down, because of the clouds, have a mocha and a muffin (or two!). Seriously though, if youve no place to go, its just a short ride on the 8. And as I have said, and by now youve read, Capitola Coffees just great!
I’m a coffee obsessed, Aeropress experimenting, totally normal Portlander and have been extremely impressed with the quality of coffee coming out of Capitola. I make it a point to try any new coffee roaster in town, and Capitola has quickly joined the ranks of my old favorites (Coava and Courier), along with some newer spots like Push+Pull.Oh, and their beans are $15 a bag! You can’t but better beans for less.
Off menu pour over options, were worth every step from next door bakery!
Peaceful and cozy, and a great selection for a tea drinker like me! I hear the coffee is great too. And they have Oatly which is objectively the best alternative milk
Comfortable, sunny space, and really great coffee. The selection and quality of teas was a pleasant surprise, and I really like that its not as loud as the bigger cafes.
The combination of amazing coffee and fantastic people make this sweet real teal cafe shine.
Solid coffee...but a grumpy barista and all the tables were taken by laptop weilding workers
Super cute coffee shop with the nicest baristas! If your in the area this is the spot to go.
So, so good! Excellent lattes and yummy pastries!
Great vibe, friendly service, delicious coffee and baked goods!
Ordered a cold brew and got a bottle of Nossa Familia. Hope they make the effort and have their own sometime soon.
First time having a Chi Latte it was good.
Great new coffee spot.
Amazing space and coffee ♥️
