The coffee is always great but the real gem of this place are the baristas. Everyone who works here is so nice and friendly, there are 3 coffee shops on Alberta that are closer to my house but I always walk further to come here because I know I’ll have a truly pleasant conversation with whoever is working

The coffee is amazing, but the working conditions are inhumane. Caffe Vita, how do you expect your workers to work with no A/C in 80 degrees and higher temperatures. This is outrageous. Your shop is hotter than it is outside. That isnt okay. Get A/C for your work place ASAP!!

Meant to put in a good word for this place a while back. We live in another part of Portland, so we dont make it up to Alberta very often. But, when we do, we make sure to hit up Caffe Vita. Nice place, good atmosphere. We always pick up a bag of Theos Blend, too. Its the best coffee weve ever had. I bring it back east to my family as a gift, and they love it.

Excellent coffee, usually fast service, very chill. Only three two seater outside tables. Watch the roasting while you drink the end result. One of our favorite places. Great vibe, low key, cool. Follow-up: Cafe Vita has over time won me over and is my favorite in Portland. The best coffee and the best people.

This coffeeshop at first glance showed a ton of promise - nice space with indoor/outdoor seating and good aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Unfortunately the latte was a bit underwhelming for my taste. The service was also a bit on the slow side and confusing as there was no real order in letting people know which coffee belonged to whom once prepared by the barista. Would like to give them another try on the coffee and hopefully service can be improved.

Dropped in for an afternoon cup of coffee. Its probably my fault but I asked the barista what she would recommend- a pretty vague question and she responded that the mocha was good. I was a little disappointed and anticipated a more robust and educated conversation around some of the unique menu items. It was awkward so I ordered a a small cup of french press. I prefer to drink coffee black when I try new places and it was fantastic, not bitter at all.

Would give zero stars if I could. Caffè Vita treats the homeless like vermin instead of people. Feeding homeless people without comprehensive services actually enables, increases and promotes homelessness, they write, which can be read as homeless people dont deserve to eat because there are no current mechanisms in place to help them; were not going to help. Shame on you, Caffè Vita! I would suggest getting your coffee from anywhere else.

As a home espresso fanatic, I love living in a city with so many options for locally-roasted coffee. Ive tried many, but my favorite is still Caffe Del Sol, Caffe Vitas espresso blend. Fortunately, the NE Alberta & 29th Ave location is within biking distance and its just a place that makes me feel welcome and comfortable. And whenever I come in (roughly every 6 days) for another bag of Caffe Del Sol, Im also offered and espresso on the house. One of my favorite Portland stories is from a visit to Caffe Vita before we moved here. After the barista informed me of my free espresso, I happened to mention that we were thinking of moving here. Of course a lot of Portland residents have mixed feeling about newcomers, but this person said immediately, Oh you have to!.

This is a pretty charming local spot.Im not a coffee drinker so unfortunately a lot of their craft is lost on me. They do however have a nice short list of teas and chai. They keep one tea made for iced all summer but they are happy to ice any of the individual flavors as well. The ambiance is casual and dingy, good tunes on the louder side. So if you need a quiet work space I would recommend the basement over at Townshend but with some noise or earphones this place is perfectly acceptable. A handful of nice pastries and youve got the makings of a solid coffee shop. The seating is minimal and small so no big groups. But I like this place, its one of my work from home go tos.
