Muji was a really cool store to visit while walking around Portland. The minimal Japanese branded products are of incredible look and quality. They also have some super nice stationary. Tons of things to look at and try on!Coolest thing there was the robot that makes you drinks. Ill attach the video to this review!

MUJI is my favorite store in the entire world. I live in Seattle, but my family and I drove out 3-4 hours just so that we could visit MUJI for an annual trip to pick up some school supplies for the upcoming year; that shows just how much I love their products. Their products are not only high quality, they are also visually appealing and calming to the senses. Compared to other typical “Western” stationery items, MUJI’s simple and minimalistic design provides you with a sense of calmness and peace of mind. Their neutral color schemes of beige, white, and other tones are easy on the eye and give a “natural” feel. I always make sure to pick up a few packs of their 5-piece notebook set, their gel pens, a pack of lined paper, and other containers for organizing my room and stationery. Something new I noticed this time around was a robotic arm in the MUJI cafe which served you coffee! It was definitely worth the long drive to get here, MUJI is both a wonderful experience like Disneyland to me and a way of making your daily living more joyful. If you are lucky enough to be in the area, try visiting MUJI!

I like this MUJI! Its well located, well stocked, with friendly service. The aisles are designed diagonally so its a bit more fun to walk through and wonder whats behind these shelves (but never feel too confused). I found what I wanted and even took home some nice small items on sale :D

This is a nice edition to what downtown has to offer. They are a Japanese business with a minimalist aesthetic selling anything from clothes to journals and cleaning tools. Plants, pens and humidifiers can also be found. Theres also a coffee shop inside. I love the journals I had bought, a pack of 5 for $2.99 that are slim but smooth to write on. They have an amazing stamp area in the store that children were drawn to explore. Finally, great customer service. The clerk who helped me check out was quick and friendly.

Truly 5 STAR service and a new concept in shopping. Think of a Japanese IKEA, minus the furniture, and quality merchandise. Linen jackets, casual clothing, aromatherapy candles, essential oils, organizing essentials, pottery, cashmere throws, and numerous items youll throw into your basket.Shopping in late March, MUJI had retired their Winter collections to the storeroom. I asked if they had any turtlenecks since the weather was still cold. The woman said she would be happy to retrieve some inventory from the back if I wouldnt mind waiting. She was under no obligation to do this. 15 minutes later she returned with 5 beautiful turtlenecks. She then asked if I was in need of any additional apparel, and would be willing to return to the storeroom to search. That is service from a bygone era.Would you like to shop in a tranquil atmosphere? Be treated graciously? Professionally? The Japanese staff at MUJI do that with grace and style that they have perfected and are known for. A must see and shop experience.

MUJI is amazing! I went to the pop up shop, but was no where near prepared for the actual store. Products arent cheap, but their not gastronomically expensive either. They have tons of supplies from stationary, to clothes, to dining, to food. You can get any item hand embroidered and the store features a small cafe. A super fun place to visit and shop.

Absolutely beautiful store! The staff is really friendly and attentive. Everything is very clean and organised. I love stationary and their pens are amazing. They have a stamping station where you can customise any of the stationary items you bought. They also have household items and some cute basic clothes. There’s also a little snack bar in the store that we didn’t try out but it looked good. Would definitely recommend if you wanted/needed any basic items.

Such a neat store in the heart of Portland. The fashion isnt really my style but its quite basic and the prices on things arent bad (a pair of very nice, simple house slippers were $10, which I thought was a steal!!). Very nice and clean, friendly staff, the custom embroidery is dope!

This is the best store in Portland. They change up what they’ve got every season. Japanese methods have changed how we store and clean things in our house. And simply walking through the aisles might give you time saving ideas you can implement in cheaper ways at home. Don’t sleep on their treats. Their essential oil mixes and wooden kitchen tools are worth the stop, alone.

Ive loved MUJI ever since I lived in Japan and furnished my apartment with a bunch of their products. its basically a Japanese IKEA, and I was super excited to get to check out their first West Coast USA location in Portland! Sure, I guess theres a location in Vancouver, but no passport required to get to this one and on my last trip to Van-city there wasnt time for me to visit, so thatll be a review for another day. The Portland location was surprisingly big, with everything youd hope to find in a MUJI- from their eponymous aroma diffusers to their clear-organisers for makeup and desk supplies, to snacks, freshly baked Melon-pan, clothes, furniture and skincare. I probably bought more than I needed to, but Im glad we were able to stop in and check it out. Great location and I look forward to my next visit!

Has a minimalist aesthetic. Can find some nice basics at times, like sweatpants or plain hoodies, but the minimalism can also come across as really dang boring. Even if you’re looking for something simple like a black hoodie, there are often better versions elsewhere. This store is dope af. They dont have a huge selection of furniture per se, but given the vibe and the categories of products they sell, I would liken it to a miniature Japanese version of IKEA (plus clothing). I think it would appeal to people who like minimalism. Also always smells nice, due to the aromatherapy diffuser floor models they always have running.I swear by their simple, grey A5 sized journals, which I use both for classes and for my own journaling. While I have yet to purchase clothing there, it seems pretty high quality. Abe was so amazing! My mom bought three pairs of fleece pants from MUJI for work, and we brought them in to get them altered on Saturday! It was free alterations since it was MUJI week, and Abe handled the alterations effortlessly. He made sure to be precise by asking my mom to try all three of the same pair of pants on to make sure that he would alter the length correctly. My mom and I came a bit later in the day on Saturday (around 2-3PM) and we came from Salem! So making the trip up to MUJI isnt super easy for us, and since Abe knew we were from Salem, he offered to get the alterations done on the SAME DAY to make it super convenient for us! I am so thankful we had such wonderful customer service and that Abe was so accommodating. If you bought any pants from MUJI that needs a little length cut or a hem, PLEASE take them to Abe because he will definitely take care of you! His work ethic was amazing and Im so glad we shopped at MUJI!

Maybe I just got a bad impression. So customer service was top notch, ultra friendly folks. The store feels, that is, there is an over the top effort made to create a atmosphere, or a buyer experience. The focus of that experience seems to be opulence with a structuraly fortified contending side note. I see all of that and I know Im paying for it right along with the prime realestate of downtown Portland. Some prices here are really good, and some seem a bit high. I loooooove their clothes. Whats interesting about them is they dont have an extensive size selection, only going up to about a US size 8, (maybe 10?). As a person with a disability, I was dismayed at how difficult it was to find an ADA entrance. A notice read that there was one at 555 SW Alder, but I spent too much time looking, only to discover that it was actually on Morrison St. This was my first time in the store, yet when I finally found the ADA entrance, I was met by a woman exiting who looked and sounded much like a police matron, saying, you cant come in here! I asked why, and she looked at the other guy at the door and said, code three. I have no idea what that meant, and asked what it was about. She walked out, and he said that she had probably mistaken me for someone else. He asked did I want to shop, and I said that this had been my plan, but felt very confused. After I shopped and paid for my merchandise, I asked to see the manager. I explained my experience, and he just listened, then said sorry for that. I wasnt sure he even understood what I had said. I did say that the employee should be spoken to, be sure in the future that they were certain of who they were speaking to before they made such a rash statement of exclusion. I would have felt better if he had indicated that he would speak to her, but he just said sorry about that in a very cold manner. I long for the days of good service at Meier and Frank, a warm atmosphere. My interest was in a wall diffuser, which they were out of and could not tell me when they might re-stock, but I did note that the essential oils for them were four times more than I would normally pay. I wont be shopping there again, which apparently is just fine with them. word of mouth is the best advertising.
