Whenever we come to town to visit we come by The Meadow. If you’re looking for chocolate to take home as gifts or to just eat it yourself this is the place to go. They’ve got 2 walls of chocolate bars which are mostly local. Also grab some good quality salt or bitters. The people working here are always nice and open to talk about the products.

This little store offers big things in the ways of salt and chocolate, plus some. Ive never seen so many chocolate bars in one place, or so many kinds!

My absolute favorite is their chocolate who doesn’t love chocolate, ask them about portland made Creo Chocolate who collaborates using their salt, My favorite is the nibs & sea salt bar. They have an amazing selection of salt. They also have a great selection of bitters my favorite is Honest John sarsaparilla Yum Yum Yum can’t get enough of it.

The Meadows isnt the cheapest place youll ever go, but the selection is impressive, the small staff knowledgable, and you can find things here youd be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the city. If youre looking for a top gift for someone who enjoys cooking or chocolate, this is an excellent place to browse. They also let you sample the bitters and salt. If youre new to cooking with different types of salt, this is definitely a good place to start! They even have starter packs of dessert salts, cooking salts, etc! If nothing else, a great place to browse with out of town friends who like shopping local.

If youre looking for unique salts or chocolates, this is the right place. Theyve got a salt for everything and samples that you can try. My favorites are the vanilla salt and the chocolate salt. Its not cheap but its good and they make great gifts!

Lovely assortment of chocolates bitters and salts. Unfortunately my interactions ( or lack there of) with the salesperson was terrible. She all but ignored me. The only other person in the shop was obviously a friend of hers and they jibber jabbered away and ignored me the whole time. Even after I asked if they carried Soma chocolates she pointed to one bar and went back to her “important conversation”. Perhaps she judged me by the way I was dressed ( tee shirt and shorts) and figured I wasn’t worth interacting with. I guess I’ll take my couple hundred dollars worth of business to world foods downtown. To be fair my partner says she has had good personable interactions with the owner. Wish that had been the case in my shopping experience.

I usually enjoy shopping here, but had an unpleasant exchange with the salesperson today. We came looking for a salt and pepper grinder set like the one some friends purchased for us as a gift from this store. We were told that the grinders were no longer a thing and that they did not have them. Like we were only buying something we thought was trendy but is now horribly out of vogue. No, I like the flakes produced by that grinder. I guess I will buy my trendy salt elsewhere.

Based on the description listed as gourmet grocery, I was expecting a small grocery carrying a variety of food items. Actually, this is a tiny store that basically only carries chocolate, salt, and bitters.They have a good selection of chocolate brands, including Dick Taylor, Patric, Soma, Askinose, Fruition, Amedi, Ritual.They also have samples of some of the chocolate, so you can request to sample them.

Any and every kind of salt you can imagine. They also have a wide selection of artisan chocolates. One of the neatest things is the gigantic stack of salt blocks that they have for cooking on.
