I took my car in the other day as a new customer since another Toyota I went to was unable to help identify the issue I was having. My car has been in and out of the shop since the beginning of the year. I worked with Morgan Mix and Jason. I felt like the issues that I had were taken care of finally and they explained everything VERY thoroughly. They even sent me a video before they finished up, having the technician comment on what he did and how it went. They worked really fast and triple checked everything was taken care of during my visit. I had an outstanding experience and appreciate their hard work. OMG...My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Ron Tonkin Toyota yesterday. I started the transaction online, which was to see about selling our Toyota Corolla to them. We had purchased it from Ron Tonkin five years, coincidently to the day, earlier. I was impressed with how smooth the whole process went. I had interaction with both Trask and Justin Lemons via phone conversations prior to our drive to the dealership. These two gents were up front and informative. My concern was this deal just sounds to good to be true I wanted confirmation of the offer. To get the offer, I simply went to their website and entered the following information under SELL US YOUR CAR vin number, mileage, condition of the vehicle, and options. The offer was given so easily and swiftly right then and there. I was like WOW this is an reasonable offer, is it true?? We live more than an 1 1/2 from the dealership so I really didnt want to waste anyones time, certainly not our own as it was such a a beautiful sunny fall day yesterday. Trask and Justin were both pleasant and very upfront on what was expected of my vehicle in order to get the offered amount. If I was honest and upfront then that was the amount I would be offered, and IT WAS! We showed up there and they looked the car over and within 5 minutes we were signing the paperwork. I couldnt believe it! IT WAS SO EASY AND SEAMLESS. They never pressured us to trade the car in or to buy a newer car or anything. It was like, ok, here is your offer now you can head on your way. I had no intention of purchasing another car from them yesterday. I had checked their inventory before heading there and they didnt have what I was looking for. However, I chose to walk the lot anyway just to see if anything caught our eye. And sure enough, there was. But it was so nice that there was absolutely NO PRESSURE! Car salesman are notorious for being pushy, but not at Ron Tonkin Toyota. We now started the process of our new, well new to us anyway, transaction. There was one minor thing wrong with the car that we planned to buy. I believe it was the general manager, Adam, came and explained to us what the issue was and that they wanted to fix it. We were like well its so far for us to drive and come back what if we just take it AS IS and so they agreed and knocked of some money of the asking price. Just an AWESOME experience. My service advisor, Robin, was very helpful in describing the computer issue with my vehicle and accurate in estimating the time in which the job would be completed. I appreciated them completing the work in a timely manner, especially considering the heat wave we were experiencing. Robin also helpfully referred me for a quote on a body repair issue to the collision center. The experience was efficient and everyone was very polite and helpful.

Patrick helped us find the right vehicle for our personal needs and wants. He was very respectful and patient with us. We test drove a few different vehicles. He had a positive attitude and never put down other brands. Dmitry Pastchenkp helped us with the financing and made it possible for us to get the vehicle at a rate and payment just right for us.

This place is awful. They lied to me and told me they were financing through my bank and tricked me into filling out the financial paperwork for their financing that ended up being a higher APR. They didnt talk to me before adding all the extra maintenance and GAP insurance to the quote they provided. They were rude, didnt listen to me and treated me like I was stupid.

Such a quick and easy process. I worked directly with James Freelove. He made the entire process as simple as it could be. Paperwork, etc…. took less than 2 hours and I drove off with my new car. I would go back to Ron Tonkin in a heartbeat.

I’m only giving this rating because of Morgan. Otherwise, theyre a 1-star. I lost a couple hours but his transparency and commitment to service are the reason I feel confident returning to have them for the work they couldn’t do because of a parts order mishap.Update: I dont know that Ill be returning to the service department here. I went in for a regular service and was told I needed new tires and an alignment job and that they could do both. I paid for new tires and returned the next day to have them installed. Sat in the lobby for 90 minutes when someone finally came to tell me they hadnt gotten the tires and I would need to come back. I did so yesterday and left the car with them at 7:45 am. I reached out at 3:45 pm to be told that they had not begun but could finish it by 5:00. I returned and waited in the lobby until 5:40 when they did finally complete the installation and then told me they couldnt do the rear wheel alignment. My bad? I bought a car that isnt a Toyota and allowed them to convince me that they could still service it.

Rare that a single experience will make me commit to NEVER returning to a location but my recent experience at Ron Tonkin Toyota sets a new low for customer experience. Despite having an appointment to pick up a new Tundra I had ordered I was ignored for more than 30 min (despite 6 Tonkin employees standing in the managers office chatting). In addition, I had been promised a $500 rebate based on military service (had to submit DD214 in advance to qualify) only to be told that demand was so high for these trucks that they would not honor that promise. So much for supporting vets (note $500 was less than 1% of the purchase price). To top it off the sales manager was incredibly rude, at one point saying Do you want the truck or not? I can sell it to someone else tomorrow if you dont want it. in response to my asking for the veteran rebate. Calling on Vets to avoid this dealership until they honor their word, and our service.

Seamless operation. Justo was very friendly and helpful. Love the new car - Corolla Hybrid - slick, comfortable, QUIET, averaging 55 mpg so far, but still powerful.Only drawback is that the car doesnt have a built-in navigation system; your only option appears to be connecting a phone (through apple play). This is a decent option in urban/built-up areas, but not when driving through rural areas with little to no cell service.

I went in for schedule service and the whole experience was great. Ravi Kim was my service adviser. He communicated throughout the process so I could plan my work day. The video of the service was a great touch because I could actually see what work was done on my vehicle. This service department is the best.

I stopped in for a routine oil change and safety inspection. Bobby Taylor signed me in and told me to expect that it would take about an hour. Bobby asked if I was familiar with the customer waiting area and said that he would let me know when my car was done. After about half an hour I received a text from Bobby with a link to a video of the inspection done on my car. An unbelievable tool that keeps you in the loop and explains exactly what was done from brake pad thickness to tread depth measurement and what was looked at under your car during the inspection. Very refreshing and professional. Great tool. About 35 minutes from start to finish and I was on my way home. Great job Bobby!!!

GRESHAM TOYOTA is highly recommend over Ron Tonkin Toyota ServiceI previously left a very positive review but after my most recent experience I would say stay away.Jack Lord in the service department is very unprofessional and extremely rude. I had my vehicle dropped off Monday evening after hours. After some error in communication my car didn’t get seen until Wednesday. I had asked Jack why my car was not seen and he said that “somebody didn’t drop off the keys until this morning”. He then began to blame the towing company for not filling out the right paperwork and then began to tell me that’s why it wasn’t seen.After further investigation, the keys were in the building the entire time. They also showed me the paperwork the towing company had filled out. He never apologized for blatantly lying about multiple things.He also quoted me $599 for a water pump and $28 for a belt. I specifically asked will there be any additional labor charges, fees, etc. that will be added on. He said no. I then confirmed I would be paying exactly $599 and $28. Come to find out that was not accurate. He then lied again saying that he said “about $28” and that he was “close enough”. He then said that the water pump was less than expected so that made up for it. He eventually adjusted the overall price to match his original quote since the water pump cost less than $599. He did not correct the belt price.When I had told him that he had not apologized once for the error of communication or lies he said “I have nothing to apologize for, I guess I’m sorry this isn’t getting done in a timely manner”The ladies at the front desk that I communicated with were VERY respectful and apologetic. I was very frustrated by the time I had to come in and they were amazing.I don’t feel like he is a great representative of their team, but as long as they allow him to be I do not recommend having your business with them. Inaccurate prices given, blatant lies that can be confirmed with phone call recordings, and very poor customer service skills witnessed by the cashier team.

The absolute worst customer service, soooo sketchy. My friend went in for a simple fix and came back with a multiple thousand bill for a bunch of stuff, funny though because She’d taken it in to a different dealership the week before and none of that was a problem? She pays to get it all fixed and while driving it the next day the car stops working completely while driving it, absolutely terrifying for her, she almost crashed! I’m not kidding when I say go ANYWHERE ELSE because that was the scariest experience and this place is sketchy.

Mitchell in the service department has very poor customer service skills. 0/10 get that guy a position not working with the public. Told me I was in the wrong while looking for an explanation of why they did not do a requested service on my vehicle after holding it for 3 days. Called me lucky to even be helped and walked away from me when I told him not to call me lucky. Trash, never coming back. Seems like an immature kid in pants that don’t fit. Ed was nice, don’t work with Mitchell.

I never expected that the (sometimes big, overwhelming) time-consuming process of purchasing a new car could be so fun. Cody in sales did a great job helping me figure out what was most important to me in my new RAV4, and ended up pairing me with a model I love above and beyond the ones I originally wanted to look at. I brought my Toyota Tacoma in for an oil change and was directed to getting a timing belt and water pump replacement for 1600 dollars. I went ahead and had them do the service because I had a road trip planned from Portland to Southern California the following day from when the service was finished. I ended up breaking down on the side of the freeway in Walnut Creek, CA with a blown engine due to an improperly attached radiator hose.I had my truck towed to the nearest Toyota service, the team gave me a detailed report back saying that this was a direct result of a mistake made by the Ron Tonkin Toyota service department. After two days staying in Walnut Creek, Ron Tonkin service reluctantly agreed that it was their fault and that they would replace the motor in my truck with a used one. This process took an entire month which affected my work, and devalued my vehicle with a higher mileage engine replacement.A major reason why I purchased my Tacoma in the first place is that I knew a detailed service history, and that the engine was well cared for. With the higher mileage used engine that they had put into my car, I have none of that information. While I appreciate the fact that Ron Tonkin Toyota paid for a replacement motor and a rental car for me, I would like a refund for the original service.After this inconvenience and devaluation of my Tacoma, I expect to get a refund for the original 1600 dollar service. Upon arrival back into Portland, I spoke with various levels of management at Ron Tonkin until I made it to the GM, Jason Jellison. Jason was disrespectful to my girlfriend and I and insisted that we were not entitled to a refund for the major mistake that they made on my car. He deflected every valid reasoning we gave to get a refund by saying that their job was to make the car whole. Jason and management; if a service that someone pays for is done improperly to the point of needing an entirely new engine the next day, that person deserves a refund. If there is anyone above the GM of Ron Tonkin Toyota, please respond. I have tried seeing if there is a corporate office to no avail. This review stays up until I get a refund. Thanks

BEWARE, they dont have oil change as a stand alone service. They sell things to you in a package only. Oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. This means more money out of your pocket. The service rep will not budge.This place will cost you over 100 for a simple oil change. Im only going with the service because Im due for a change and Im traveling from Minnesota.On top of that, I witnessed the whole maintenance being done. Here are my observation.On a 4x4 work with non-directional tires, they are only doing front to back and back to front. No criss cross of tires on the rotation. I also saw them use air tools to tighten up my lugs. Not too happy about that.Other than that, the place looks clean and has a lounge for you to hang out in while you wait for the service to complete.

Not previously having a car prior to coming in, I obviously needed to get insurance before test driving and buying my selected car of interest. Joe gave me a recommendation for insurance and did the initial leg work. After presenting finance options that hit the monthly price point right on in the first presentation, I got insurance and it took about 20-30 minutes with me on the phone with the insurance co. Ali was very patient and understanding of this while I sat at his desk throughout this insurance process. Roy in financing was also equally outstanding as he walked me through the different finance options and was very patient and happy to explain each item to me. Roy was in no way pushy, intimidating, nor agenda seeking but rather, very understanding to my financial restraints and personal comfort of the options. He was able to get me a great deal in the finance. Thank you Ali, Joe, and Roy and Tonkin for your excellent, superb service and expertise. Watch out, they’ll steal your warranty refund for your trade in without telling you.This place is SHADY. We traded in a car and then learned we could get a refund for the warranty. We called the old warranty company and learned that Tonkin Toyota called and canceled the warranty, took the $2,000 refund for themselves, and “applied” it to the financing for the new vehicle without the monthly payment even going down. Basically stole $2,000 from us without saying a word.The kicker is that we are pretty sure they forged a signature on a document that says we “requested” that the warranty refund be used as a down payment on the vehicle. We did NOT request that. We weren’t even told about it. And we weren’t provided with a copy of that form until we realized what had happened.DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE

In February this dealership tried to sell me an Army Green 2019 4Runner TRD Pro with 15k+ miles on it for $58k. Their justification for this price is that Its a rare color. I walked away that day. I recently bought a certified Limited 4Runner, and it appears to be in great shape from the outside! Overall I’m happy with the car itself but after driving it home, I realized the brake pads need to be replaced, the rotors are extremely corroded, the whole bottom of the car is corroded and rusty, there’s a speaker blown, my touch screen display is non-responsive to touch the top right corner, and the tailgate seal was damaged. Overall, it was a used car so I’ve paid to have most of those things remedied. I reached out to my sales consultant three separate times via phone (also left messages for him) and once via text, and eventually made contact with him. Brake pads are a couple hundred bucks for installation so I wanted to see if they’d be willing to install them for free if I pay for the parts, which I feel is somewhat reasonable to at least ask since i just bought the car and it clearly wasn’t inspected. I was told over a week ago to expect a call back, and I’m still being disregarded.Overall, they’re there to sell and once they do that, they don’t care. It’s unfortunate but I guess there’s nothing I can do now.

We bought our Prius a year ago and we had such great experience. Everyone was accommodating and upfront with what we were buying and the contracts we signed. They answered our questions and validated our requests. If there was anything amiss, we were able to contact managers and get answers and solutions. It was a great car-buying experience. They even sent us a congratulations on our one-year anniversary of buying the car. Whenever I see a Ron Tonkin license plate, I think good for you! because it was definitely good for us!

This dealership is terrible, the sale manager Rony Abi Haidar is so rude to the women, and not keep the promise. I feel disgusted when you bad mouth to other dealership while youre the terrible person to work with.

I will not buy another car from here. The people were nice but the financing was put in my husbands name because he makes more than I do. They spent an hour trying to fix it but 7 months later its still in his name. Yesterday I went to a Chase bank and they fixed it with a phone call.Update: I had a good talk with Jamie. She explained that they had asked the bank make me the primary lender but acknowledged they did not check back to make sure it happened. I hope to be getting the finance paperwork in my name in the next week and asked that she make sure employees receive training.Update: Months later, I finally got the financing in my name. Tonkin initiated the problem, but since Chase was clearly part of the issue I am increasing my rating to 3 stars.

A stellar experience from start to finish. I will begin with Jared, our internet sales consultant. Jared did so much of the legwork upfront negotiating an absolutely awesome price on our new 2021 Rav4. He was super responsive, getting back within minutes in most cases. He offered a pretty good price to start and after negotiations, gave me the best deal of anywhere in the greater Portland/Salem metro area. Seriously, I tried, and nobody could beat his offer. He meant what he said in terms of lowest price in the market.After a few days of back and forth, the model finally arrived at the dealership. Both Pat and Hannah did a superb job in explaining the vehicle while also providing good support during the test drive. What I appreciated most about Pat was that he really wasnt aggressive in selling any extra items and stuck to the original price negotiated between Jared and I. He was great throughout the process despite it going slightly past closing. Hannahs sense of humor and good-natured attitude were similarly appreciated.All in all, a fantastic experience. I was warned of and encountered MANY scummy car people in the shopping process (started seriously looking about a month ago and had visited a few dealerships prior to this purchase). I would absolutely buy another car from this dealer in the future. Give them a try (especially the people mentioned above) and you will not be disappointed!
