Five star experience with the service team here. Mark was great to work with and was able to get the work on my car finished up a day early so I could make a trip I had planned. I really appreciated that. The process of getting and returning the courtesy car was also effortless. Definitely would recommend.
Came in to look at a Honda Fit, Chris helped me and was wonderful the whole time. Didnt end up purchasing, but Chris was so helpful and never pushy. Fantastic Experience.
Ive never posted a bad review in my life; However, having the manager Will raise his voice, get aggressive and rude - bordering on insults - at 9:30 AM in the morning is something I hope no one else has to experience. Avoid this dealership.Alan, his sales employee acted extremely professional the entire time and was very helpful. Sadly will not consider buying here due to the experience with the Manager.
Kyra and Cesar are awesome! Answered all my questions and got me into the exact vehicle I wanted. I would buy from Kyra and Cesar again no question - ask for them when you go!
Sent me through 3 salesmen trying to answer simple questions. Couldnt answer any of my concerns and tried to just pressure me to come across town, as a test drive would apparently answer my concerns about why the HISTORY of a 4 owner auction car... then treated me with a condescending tone when I told them I just wasnt interested in an auction car. Instead of treating me that way, or refusing to answer my questions, maybe just show me some other options... amazed that this place holds the Ron Tonkin name, which I thought would hold it to a higher level of transparency and quality. Just the same as every other lot I guess...
If you enjoy being called a liar by the salesperson while attempting to buy a used car, I highly recommend this place!
Amazing place. The whole team was super helpful and super friendly. They got me way better rates than I expected to get and left with a much better car than the one I had on mind. Noah was awesome and all the other guys too. Go get your Alfa now because those car are too much value for your buck.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My friend and I went there on Saturday (01/23/2021) because she was car shopping. Shannon attempted to run my friend’s credit even though she was pre approved with a credit union. A man sitting next to Shannon tried to tell us there’s no such thing as a “soft pull” and they’d HAVE to run her credit in order to even communicate with the credit union. I’ve purchased cars before and I know this is NOT the case. Car dealerships have a way to hand a purchase agreement to a buyer and wait to give them the car until they return with the check from the bank. I’ve done it many times. When my friend and I got up to leave, these vultures surrounded us and tried to make us stay and convince her to sign the credit pull. They were all very pompous and condescending, and they were all giving us different - yet always incorrect - information. The business practices at Alfa Romeo are predatory. My friend purchased a vehicle at a WONDERFUL dealership in Salem - Capitol Subaru. Go there instead!
We’re obsessed with our new Stelvio!! Noah Elkin was extremely helpful, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommend this dealership - not to mention that the car is fantastic! Couldn’t recommend the brand or dealer more.
I had a great experience with all of the staff at this dealership. Alan and Jay specifically helped me a great deal. I’d recommend this crew to anybody! Thanks again
We came to look at a certain Lexus they had and Ethan helped us. He was really friendly, informative and honestly was one of the best experiences we had while car shopping. Highly recommend going to him. Unfortunately we did not purchase the car, but I wanted to leave this review so that he gets recognition for his work and others can ask for his help! He showed us other cars that might’ve worked and got us a great trade in estimate for the car we had. We ended up going with a different type of Lexus, but it was a great experience here.
Had the best car purchasing experience I’ve ever had with Noah and Ray the finance manager at Ron Tonkin Alfa Romeo. They created amazing rapport, made us feel comfortable with the option we wanted in terms of additional warranties and did not try to up sell us on our needs what so ever. We left with an awesome Jeep with a non-transactional feeling and peace of mind. I wish every car dealership selling used cars would treat people like this.
Purchased a used 2018 Mazda 3 Touring and am enjoying it so far!Great customer service experience from Alan Bradway and Ethan Arfer. Theres a longer review posted for Ron Tonkin Mazda, but these two guys helped make the experience quick and easy. After checking out the car on day 1, I came back and purchased it. Jay Cole worked with me to get a loan rate very close to my target. The dealership was clean and their coffee machine had many options, though the car lot was kinda small for the number of vehicles.
The only good thing is that we like the car and it was priced at a reasonable market value. Otherwise I got terrible service. It started with a sales person telling me to come in on an agreed price only to tell me he can’t do it after I arrived. The manager was rude to say the least. Then they refused to transfer my existing plates to the new car. Something that most other dealers do without a problem. So I opted to do the plate transfer myself. They still charged me the handling fee. Then they don’t know how to get me the title so I can register myself. Never going to Ron Tonkins again
Ive had several great experiences here at Ron Tonkin Alfa & Fiat. Not only have I been going there for almost a year now on occasion, but I quite enjoy the customer service and friendly staff they have there. Ethan Arfer has been a great sales representative. He works very hard to get you into a vehicle that not only works within your budget but also that you will enjoy. Everyone knows buying a vehicle is a big investment, so he strives to make you feel comfortable about your purchase throughout the whole process. A++
I had stopped by to ask questions and most likely place a deposit for an Alfa Romeo Giulia, ZARFANBN1L7637834, currently shown in transit. I entered the showroom, two sales people there, both were more interested in talking with a couple who had test drove a single cab Ram than to simply acknowledge me.After waiting 15 min and listening to benifits of a Ford f150 with the turbo 6 with the couples objections of purchasing a Ford, finding out their targeted price point and the seated salesperson searching the entire Tonkin dealership network for anoth single cab the couple might be intereated in (they were looking to purchase within the next 2 weeks). I decided my business was not important enough. I will travel to Richland or Seattle to purchase my vehicle.
The Alan service is very very kind and goodVery patient and helped us a lot 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I bought a Giulia last year, and the sales process went well. However, corresponding with associates at this dealership since then has been cordial but dry and not exactly welcoming, and it is more about me being the one to follow up with issues and concerns after not hearing back from them as often as I should. The sales team sold me a type of extra warranty, and when it came time to make use of that warranty, they did not know how to handle the issue. After a few weeks of waiting, I contacted them again, for them to tell me my car is not eligible for the warranty to cover a repair. So much fine print and stipulations they dont tell you about: The car had to have incurred damage by driving through a pothole in order for the warranty to be effective. (What?!?!)I did like that they provided me with a loaner car when I went in for my first scheduled service. That was nice. But initially entering the dealership, we were not greeted by anyone, despite a few eyes looking up at me from whatever they were doing--I had to approach someone, who tried to hide his irritation that I approached him. ***The general vibe I get from the staff is that they might be slightly disgruntled or burnt out, and the morale is low there.*** I was expecting the same level of treatment and service that is given at the Lexus or Mercedes dealerships.I fault the management, because of inadequate training, and failure to foster a positive and welcoming environment. I was there for a European car experience, but instead got a budget airline experience.
I was looking for a Alfa Romeo Giulia to purchase in California but everything was either overpriced, not well equipped, or the dealerships were just horrible. As I searched every day to see whats available, I found a beautiful Giulia that was the exact spec I wanted. I contacted Tonkin Alfa Romeo through email and was contacted shortly by Alan letting me know that he wasnt at work but he will have a colleague send me pictures. Next morning, a gentleman by the name of Noah sent pictures and a video of the car. I explained to him my situation and how I would be able to come in 2 weeks due to work/school. He said that isnt an issue as long as a deposit is made on the vehicle. We worked out a deal and a deposit was placed on the car. Fast forward to a few days ago, I flew in and Noah even offered to pick me up from the airport which was very convenient. He allowed me to drive the vehicle on the way back to the dealership and explained all of the options the car had and how to use them. When we got to the dealership, all of the paperwork was ready for us and the entire process took roughly 10 min (I am not over exaggerating) . This dealership is by far the best one I have dealt with thus far and Noah truly went above and beyond to make sure the car was cleaned and all of my questions were answered! I wish these guys were located in bay area instead of Portland!
We loved the care and knowledge we received here. Joey Soksida was fun, kind, respectful and was patient with all of our tedious and redundant questions. It was great meeting Joey and learning about him and his family. The coworkers he introduced us to were a fantastic help with our financial situation and helped Joey crunch numbers so we could still go home with a great reliable car. Joey even made sure to print off the carfax, handle the return of our broken fiat and had our new mini cooper washed! Never have I ever experienced such genuine care from a car dealership. Thank you so much Joey and thanks to all of the partners who helped along the way! Well be back to trade up!
Have nothing but good things to say about this dealership.Friendly and Communicative from start to finish.Wayne and his staff makes sure you feel at home and answer any and all questions you may have.Had the best price in town (and the best coffee!!!)
They were very responsive to online queries. The salesman, Ethan was very helpful, kept in close contact and answered all questions. Theyre a little aggressive, and obsessed with extended warranties (I had to turn that down literally four separate times). But Im happy with the car I got and, as far as buying a used car goes, it was a decent experience.
Mark in the service department has gone above and beyond to help me with my Fiat 500x 🙌🏻 I can’t say enough wonderful things about him. I had my car in for some issues, he keep it and made sure it was 100% before I picked it up. He provided me with a loaner car, that was brand new, and kept me updated on how my vehicle was progressing. I live in Salem, and it is worth the drive with the customer service that is provided. Thank you Mark and Carl! Your time and care is much appreciated!
If you are looking to purchase a new vehicle then this is the place to go. Alan Bradway was wonderful to work with. He was patient with us and worked extremely hard to get us where we wanted to be financially. Alan is professional and personable. I highly recommend him!
Fantastic Experience!!! Paul the salesman and Jay our finance manager gave us a 5 Star vehicle purchase experience. Our two children came with us and everyone was very friendly with them. I would definitely buy a vehicle from them again and would recommend them to a family member or friend. Thank you guys at Alfa Romeo Tonkin
Keili and the rest of the staff at Ron Tonkin made trading in my Fiat and leasing a Giulia so easy. They were patient, helpful, and accommodating. Would go back!
I got an Alfa Romeo Giulia and Jeff Tuazon was excellent he is the best salesman in that dealership if you ar looking to buy a Fiat Alfa or any new or used car just ask for Jeff you will not be disappoint
I purchased a Stelvio from out of town and am so happy with my experience! I worked with Ethan Arfer and Wayne and I have nothing but awesome things to say! The negotiation was great and I got what I needed to make a decision very quickly! When the car was delivered to me, it was washed and given a full tank of gas! Talk about above and beyond! Amazing customer service and a fun experience! I love my Alfa and this dealership!
Very poor customer services, and not friendly to African American man. I went to purchase a car for my wife, the young lady helping me was nice. Now on the other hand, the manger was rude, disrespectful, arrogant and unprofessional. I will never purchase a car from Ron Tonkin Alfa Romeo, and will tell my friends do do the same. I wish I could give them 0 stars. A day later I purchase the same car that I was trying to purchase from them at Freeman Motor Company - Salem. Now they know how to treat people!
We love this place. Keili Eiland has found us the exact vehicle twice, price, color and year. She found us multiple cars to choose from. Even though we were looking for an older MDX they were all in excellent condition. We will definitely will be back.
I bought an Alfa Romeo Stelvio and I love it. My salesperson was Tyler Griggs, he was professional and knowledgeable. A great and easy car buying experience. Go buy a car from him!
I recently leased an Alfa Giulia at Tonkin Alfa and had a great experience with the people who assisted me in my visit there . From Keili the sales lady to Jack and Ray who assisted me with the deal and paperwork, I was extremely satisfied with the dealership.
My car broke in half and they said that the 1 year crash protection does not work for hotweels model cars
Very friendly staff. Knowledgeable about there products, and not pushy at all. Customer service is outstanding! They simply put you first!
I went in on a hot Sunday afternoon to check out the Alfa Romeo Giulia, without an appointment, and with my toddler by my side. I was dressed very casually and came in an inexpensive rental car not ready to buy. Noah Elkind showed me around and treated me like a king. Noah knew the answers to all the questions and whenever he felt unsure, he was quick to double check to get me the right answer. He was not pushy and I never felt pressured. Ultimately I went home without a test drive because I didnt want the hassle of transferring a car seat.I made an appointment to come back the following week and had a great test drive and experience. We ultimately reached a deal and I picked up my car on Friday. I explained to Noah my time constraints and he made sure that everything was ready and that I was in and out in about 1.5 hours including showing me all the features and pairing my phone. Noah even offered to come to my house to program the garage opener. While I ultimately didnt get all the features I wanted (such as Navi and heated seats), Noah didnt pressure me to pick the higher model TI that had those features because he knew the color was more important and I didnt want to wait for a car to be ordered.I have had the car for less than 24 hours and really enjoy it. This was my first lease and they made the process very painless. I will definitely refer other to Noah and hopefully buy another vehicle from him in the future.
We came here to check out one vehicle and came to find out the ones that we were looking for isnt the right fit for us at all. But Ethan didnt give up, he treated us really great found out what type of vehicle we were looking for and by the time we left... we had it... they had just gotten it in, so it still needed to be detailed and we found a nail in one of the tires... we also added a buffer on the inside and outside... only issue is that we had to wait for a couple of days for it be to ready. We live an hour and a half away... when it was done they actually brought it out to us and the vehicle looks amazing... we couldnt have imagined that we were going to get that chance. Thank you Ethan, Jessica and team. We are still extremely happy with the vehicle.
Had a great car buying experience here . Wouldnt expect to go to an Alfa Romeo dealership to find a used car but they really had a wide variety and treated me just like I was buying a high dollar car even though I ended up walking out with a 2013 used Acura MDX. They were not pushy in the least, which is greatly appreciated and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Beyond all that, I was surprised to see a $15 check in the mail yesterday from them for an over estimate on licensing fees . Its a small thing but I think it shows true professionalism and honesty. James Moser was the dealer I worked with and I would definitely recommend him again .
Great service and Claudio the best Fiat Tech around hi to Suzie Carl and Mark for taking great care of the Abarth Alan in sales is awesome
Nice folks, they were very helpful with all of my questions. I worked with Alan Bradway and enjoyed my experience
Very disappointed with management here - think they need to take some lessons from Kuni BMW and Lexus on how to treat a high end car buyer. Its a bummer for Alfa to have such a low brow company representing them. - just your typical dishonest crappy dealership.
This is my personal review on the Ron Tonkin Alfa Romeo dealership and is NOT a review on the actual Alfa Romeo Giulia which in my opinion sells itself. My overall experience at Ron Tonkin Alfa Romeo was a mix of positive and negative (MOSTLY positive) for the following reasons (in order of my purchase experience):- My very first visit to the dealership was without an appointment specifically for the Alfa Romeo Giulia (base model). It was a Saturday afternoon and appointment or not I expected to at least gain a little insight on the vehicle options. What I actually got was a Brand Specialista who gave me more reasons than not to further express my serious interest including their unpredictable and low inventory. I was not even offered to review their current fleet of Giulias at the dealership. Feeling like I just stumbled upon the most bizarre customer experience and frankly offensive customer experience, I mentioned that I was at the end of my BMW lease. Thats when the Brand Specialista finally offered me his business card and said hed talk to his manager about pricing options and get in touch with me. So I walked out and never head back.- A couple weeks later I decided to email the dealership. I couldnt let the initial negative experience keep me from the bigger picture. Kayla (Internet Director) got back to me the same day and scheduled an appointment for me which I had to reschedule twice and she was more than accommodating.- Soon after arriving for my appointment I was greeted by Kayla and I believe by chance, was set up with Keili Eiland in Sales. I checked out the Giulia that Kayla had recommended to me over the phone (it was on the lot the same day as my first visit) and Keili came with me for a test drive. I had time before my BMW lease ended but after a few rounds of negotiation Keili was able to help me land on a lease price that aligned with my budget of roughly the same amount Ive been paying for my BMW 328i.- Keili made me feel more and more comfortable about the big decision and made the process as seamless as possible for me. The BMW was my first lease ever, Keili took it upon herself to help me return the lease same day to the Kuni dealership, came into the dealership with me, and drove me back to the Alfa Romeo lot to go home with my new car! But, before I could actually call it MINE... I needed to grab a check for the dealership that was at my house. Keili jumped in the dealership runner car, followed me as I drove the Giulia to my house and handed off the check to her right then and there! Done and Done!- Unfortunately just a week later I got a service engine alert on my brand new Alfa Romeo Giulia. I get that their could be first gen problems so I didnt panic and turns out all the was needed was a software update. Why they let me leave the lot without ensuring all updates were completed, I dont know. But at least I live a short distance to the dealership and they were able to get me right in with a loaner Giulia which was really generous of them.At the end it was all worth it and I cant thank Keili Eiland (Sales), Kayla (Internet Director) and Ashely from Service enough for turning my experience around and getting me into my new Alfa Romeo Giulia. I look forward to working with them again in the future and would recommend the same for anyone who is interested in an Alfa Romeo at the Ron Tonkin dealership on Canyon Rd. in Portland, OR.
Incompetent in paper work with DMV. Traded in my viechle signed away my title on my end. Kept getting tickets in my name but they failed to help me out what so ever. Poor customer service and shady dealer. Will be filing an investigation.
