Could not express how amazing our experience was at BMW Portland. Weve bought 4 cars at other dealerships and this was hands down the best time weve had buying a car. Dave K took great care of us throughout the entire purchase process. He set us up with BMW Genius, Jamie, to teach us about the car. Jamie was really fantastic and helpful, answering any questions we had. Dave then took us to Jon in finance and it was the quickest part! They did a great job but one of my rims had a curb gouge and it wasn’t there before I took it in.Also, replaced my fuel tank vent valve. It was driven 8 miles. Why would they need to drive it and 8 miles is pretty far. But the staff were very nice.

I waited all day to get a service complete for oil change, micro filter replacement, and air filter replacement. I was told my vehicle would be done between 1pm and 2pm, which I had to ask for an ETA while waiting in the lobby. Not once did anyone check up on me or give me an updated finish time. My vehicle was not completed until 4pm. Also, I was notified that there was no loaner vehicles for this appointment when I could clearly see that there were plenty available in the parking lot. Lastly, driving home and got bug goo on my car and went to use the window wiper cleaner. It was not filled up. Like what in the world does $607 worth of labor charges and $206 worth of parts charges get you these days. Half done service and fluids weren’t even filled up. This is part of normal services with any oil change that I have gotten in services prior at every BMW dealer I have been to. I will definitely be going corporate with this review and my complaints.

The dealership as a whole was really great, the vehicle we wanted was priced so much below Blue Book there wasn’t even a need to barter. Greg was amazing to work with. He took us to the car we wanted to see, made the test drive fun, and didn’t try to push us toward another vehicle or sell us up at all. When we experienced a little hiccup in our financing plans, he found us a solution that not only worked, but improved the terms we wanted. An easy and satisfying car buying experience all around.

I took the car in for its first oil change last week - oil change service was great, but the Service associate that was assigned to me did did not know about the Lithia lifetime oil change service that I purchased at BMW of Portland which lead to some uncomfortable back and forth where I tried to explain I had purchased a prepaid oil change package there at the dealership when I purchased my car, but he kept insisting that I actually purchased a service that expired in 2018 - I have had the car less than a year. It eventually escalated in me asking for my car back because I refused to pay for the oil change that I already prepaid for. I explained that I would come back with the documentation to prove that I had this service. This finally lead to the associate to ask his manager to look into this and the manager immediately recognized that I had this service package on my record and confirmed that they would not charge me for the oil change. This was my first experience with BMW Portland Service department and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant one. I would recommend that you please review all the packages the dealership offers in the sale of a car with your Service Associates as well as ensuring that these clearly make it into the Service records for the car to avoid exchanges like this in the future.

Communication was sub par. 2 days for an oil change. The loaner is always nice but they limit you to 50 miles a day. The girl at the counter didnt believe I had Insurance. She needed to not only see my valid insurance card but also see the declarations page to be sure I had full coverage. It took me about 10 minutes to get it from my insurance company while my loaner car was running. Do you guys do this to every customer?? I bet you dont. I felt like I was targeted because I am latino. At the very end when I picked up my car the other service girl was very nice and courteous. She helped put my front license bracket and plate on my car. Since it was not on when I first purchased my new car. Shouldnt such an important thing already be on the car?? It being a lucrative high profile company like B.M.W I just expected better service and not to be judged.

I had my first bad experience. Car was in for just an oil change that I prepaid to have 2 free oil changes a year when I I purchased the car. They charged me $99 to scope my car which they didnt charge me in the past. Wasnt told an oil change was going to take 4 days when I made the appointment. Was told I would get a courtesy car as Ive always gotten one in the past, but not this time. They did get me a Lift though. I understand that places are short staffed, but tell the customer in advance and dont promise a courtesy car and tell me something else when I get there.

I would not recommend buying a used car from BMW Portland or utilizing their service department. I purchased a used 528xi from BMW Portland 2+ years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. Within a few weeks the battery needed to be replaced, followed by the starter. It has been in for service due to not starting or various warning indicators numerous times in the last 2 years. Recently it would again not start and I was advised it was likely the starter (which BMW Portland replaced 2 years ago) - when we contacted BMW Portland they replied that the starter they installed was 4 days past warranty and they wouldnt honor parts/repair. (The cars hardly been driven since they replaced the starter). Now the service department is not returning phone calls. Used BMW and BMW service seekers beware!

My first time in here for service on my X3. Fortunately, I had reserved a loaner car for my 10k service appt. I expected it to take several hours, so when the service rep told me 2-3 days I was in shock. Again, the loaner car saved the day. The standard service was done including a factory recall for a software update. My rep, Will, texted me updates in a really timely manner and responded to my inquiries in 5 minutes or less. I really appreciated that. When I picked up the car, checkout was a breeze and Will handed me a complete printed report of all that was done and explained the work. I’m only dinging it one star due to the time it took to do this routine check. Overall, very satisfied with the service and communications.

After I arrived at BMW of Portland for an oil change service, I waited for over 30min before a service advisor came to talk to me. That’s way too long.After talking to the advisor, I left my car there and took a walk to get lunch. I was told by the advisor the car would be ready in about two hours. After two hours, I came back to get my car, it was not ready. I had to wait another hour and half before I got my car back. I will never go back there for an oil change again.

I would agree with many of the reviewers that BMW Portland is more focused on the sales and not very good with the service. In my opinion, they are terrible with the service. Our 2015 BMW X5 has been great. We purchased brand new with the full Lithia warranty and maintenance package. Whether for routine maintenance or occasional repairs, BMW Portland has been terrible. The X5 is still fantastic but for service, I would definitely recommend Kuni.

I made an appointment, and when I arrived I was told the car sold last night after close and no one notified me.Then after leaving I received multiple calls from them and the sales person on the phone asked me if I was still interested in the car and might want to come in. When I informed him that the car at sold he said he mustve missed the email. All the while the listing is still active and shows the car still available on their website.Whatever is happening here, its definitely not honest.

I live in central south East portland, and geographically this dealership is perfectly located where it sits in downtown portland. Wonderful facility, it is obviously well run, as everything was new, clean, well lit. The dealership itself even has a pleasant scent you notice from the moment you walk in! The attention to detail is obvious for me as the sales professional, Gregorio Zuccarello, took expert care of me during my purchase, and made the process fast and easy. He had the vehicle and paperwork awaiting my arrival and was obviously knowledgeable with the brand, was able to answer all my questions effortlessly. The greeting went well. I was greeted by the manager who is prior military such as I am. I did a test drive and the salesman seemed like a good guy trying to make a living. Upon entering everyone was hospitable. I mentioned to the gentleman selling me the car that the blue book value he was bringing up as a price point was different than what I was pulling up on blue book. I’m not sure how their system is different but it is now what normal people pull online. I really wanted the vehicle so I agreed that a price that was to high. Being that the manager explained he was military I asked home to knock the price down 500 dollars on a vehicle worth a lot of money to get to the lower end of fair buy (KBB) in which they declined. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I drove from Olympia Wa to Portland and asked if I could be picked up from the rental car place 2 miles away in which they declined because the focus had shifted towards the next customer. I returned my rental car and walked the 2 miles. Kia dealerships do better than that. Finally, my debit card was declined and their tone changed. I had a lot more in my account than necessary. I never pulled the race card but felt like, what is this black guy doing here buying this car. Maybe unintentional on their part but spending this kind of money I would expect better treatment. They would have never treated one of their other customers wearing a golf sweater this way.

My wife and I made the trip up north from the Eugene area to take a look at a used BMW that I inquired about via email. Greg responded to my email and gave me a fair trade value range for my car pending inspection immediately. We were greeted by their front desk receptionist and walked to a waiting area inside the lobby. Greg was friendly and courteous from the start. He mentioned that there were three different cars that fit my search and had narrowed it down to two of them for me based on what features and trim packages they were equipped with. The car that he recommended was the one that had the most bang for its buck and was not the one that I found initially. Greg was prepared, organized, and knowledgeable about the vehicles. After signing some documents we took the car for a test drive as they inspected our trade in. We loved the new car and were floored with the features. Greg greeted us as we pulled back in and offered us the high end of the range for our trade in. We agreed on a deal and began the paper work process. We had brought our youngest son with us on the road trip and car buying experience. He was noticeably bored and Greg asked if he could “show him around” as we signed paper work. Greg and our youngest son returned with a BMW R/C car that my son was able to pick out for being so patient. We had an issue that came up a few days later and Greg had the resolution for us within 15 minutes. I have never worked with such a transparent and courteous sales rep in my life. Greg is a class act and BMW of Portland is lucky to have such a gem at their store.

I have come here for 9 years to service various bmws of mine and I’ve never had a problem. I went in for an oil change Saturday and my advisor told me that I needed a “scope” with my oil change. When I asked why, or what the scope entailed… she told me that if I did not perform this service my car would not know how to run with the new oil. Her words “ your car is 90% technology and 10% mechanical and if you do not reset the computer system and tell the car that it has new oil- your car will not drive or run properly”Furthermore, I had arranged a service rental and when I denied having the scope done, the service rep then told me I can wait the 2 hours for the oil change since I won’t be having the scope performed…. I said uhhh okay- but I scheduled a rental?? And then after back and forth I was put into a rental.Why was this experience so annoying? I know this is not what a service scope does, and the fact that I was blatantly lied too was really disheartening. I immediately lost my trust in this service advisor and now I won’t trust her going forward when service is recommended. Being honest is not hard- you will sell more with honesty. Furthermore if someone has a rental- they have it scheduled that way for a reason.Disheartening and upsetting that after 9 years that’s how I was treated. Please learn from this and do better.

We shopped around at several dealerships and test drove about 8 cars. The folks at Portland BMW were by far the most knowledgeable, attentive and yet low pressure. Dave and Duane helped in sales and were really great to work with. Jamie was another super nice guy and big help in learning all of the controls and setting up preferences. The price we paid felt very fair and we had a very brief and hassle free negotiation. The only negative was the paperwork guy who really pushed his extended warranty for another 4K... we declined. We picked BMW over Audi for reliability. Hope we made the right choice.

I brought in my 2007 328i for 3 recall repairs. Joe was my service advisor. They also were able to provide me with a courtesy vehicle for the 2 days my car was in their shop. Their car wash is down due to COVID so the loaner car wasn’t washed on the outside but the interior was sanitized and clean. My 750i reported that it needed a brake fluid change. I called and made an appointment at a very convenient time. Once at the dealership we discussed the passenger front seatbelt problem snd an issue with the navigation ability to navigate with verbal commands. All the above were repaired perfectly. However one problem Ed discussed was not solved. This morning it was very cold; when I enter the car to drive this morning I touched the position one drivers seat button which stuck and disabled the sbility to adjust the seating to my stored position. Ten minutes later when he cabin warmed the detented buttin released and stored positions where available again. This is s continuous problem in cold weather. It makes if impossible to change snd store seating and mirror positions. I realize it’s not s really big problem, but it is a very annoying condition.

If I could give a negative star I would. By far the worst service department EVER. POOR COMNUNICATION, LACK OF COMNUNICATION. They are incrediblly unprofessional. Take your car for service somewhere else.
