Kevin and his techs did a fabulous job and kept trying when attempting to add an alarm system for my 2016 Mini Cooper had not worked. Even the dealer said they could not do this. These days in Portland I felt not having a car alarm was asking for trouble. But now I feel protected and safer. Stereo King was great all around service and quality . I phoned ahead to check inventory and install schedule options - phone was quickly answered and very knowledgeable helpful service on the phone. I brought my boat to there store and they had a great amount of inventory. All of the staff in the store and the shop were very attentive, courteous and helpful. They got my boat in for install quickly and completed work ahead of schedule. They kept me promptly and regularly updated throughout my appointment. The install shop did great work and made great recommendations for components. Very happy with the outcome. Even as a first time customer there they made me feel very appreciated.

So i went in to have my deck wired up properly because the previous owner of my car had done it himself and didnt do it right. The radio would not turn on with the auxiliaries and every time i turned the car off the radio would reset all the settings. I go in and describe this to the guys at the desk and they said it would be an easy fix and it would cost 70 dollars. I said that was okay (even though the guy over the phone said it would only be 55) and let them get to work. Took them about 15 minutes and when i got my car back i asked Jacob, who was working on my car, how it went. He said it was very simple and then just walked away without really saying anything else even though i tried to ask more questions. I go inside and pay and all was well. Once i returned to my car i noticed that the radio still did not turn on with the auxiliaries and only turned on with ignition. So my main problem was not solved, the radio no longer reset itself though so at least half my problems were solved. But here is where the 1 star comes in. I look at the wire i have plugged into the cigarette lighter to charge my phone AND THEY CUT THE WIRE. Clean off perfect cut just right in half ... why??? i can not understand why this was done, maybe because they were annoyed that the cord was hanging in front of the radio ... i literally have no clue why this happened. I was so annoyed with the lacking of communication and semi complete job that i just left knowing they would probably lie their way out of the situation. Although looking back on it i should have just gone back in and confronted them. Would not recommend this place if you have anything serious you want taken care of because it would seem they are incompetent in the smallest tasks.

Walked in, walked right back out because not one employee was wearing a mask. I won’t support any business that has no respect for the safety of their customers. I hope they realize they just lost an easy thousand dollars or more because they can’t follow basic public safety measures.

I went in a couple of weekends ago and bought a escort radar detector and M1 camera for my car and was very happy with it. Doug highly recommended it and I had to agree after I saw the reviews on it as well. This week I took my wife’s car in and got a major sound system upgrade from Doug and KELLIE the installer,did speakers and a sub and the car never sounded better. They gave me an estimate based on what they could see/hear on the surface and actual costs came in right at their estimate. Came in with an idea but no knowledge, they could have easily sold me a cheaper setup but for my need to be able to remove at a moments notice meant a little more. (Totally fine with that) I did have an issue with my remote plug and base knob, came down and boom fixed it immediately.I also just had my windows tinted, great work and totally fair pricing. Love it.

They did a great job figuring out the glitch with the 27 year old wiring in our Land Cruiser, new stereo work aok and looks great. Same day install at what was a reasonable price imo.

This place is fantastic, I went in day after thanksgiving sales morning. I worked with Logan for the sales portion and showed me options for stereos and was knowledgeable in what he was talking about. Kelly was the guy who did the installation and he was also amazing. He was able to connect all my controls in the steering wheel, when I was told it would be difficult to attach the answer and call button. Everything took only 2 hours to install. The whole team was very friendly and helpful through out the process. I would definitely go back for any after market work on my 4Runner.

I came in looking to have a stereo in my Corvette replaced, including a new back up camera and phone ability. The heavy set man at the desk was more than rude, pretty much ignored my husband and I. It got so bad I faked a phone call from work while my husband got the details of a 1300.00 replacement for the things I just mentioned. RUN if you value your feelings or just hang around as the employees treat you like a bother not a sales opportunity

Seems as though their online help has no clue. I sent all the information necessary of what I was looking for. This included cut out measurements, ( the hole the speaker fits in to mount.) For all speakers including the custom sub box I already have. This person didnt read a thing. This became very obvious when I was asked if I needed an enclosure for the sub, which I have and already gave the measurements for! Then he turned around and said my vehicle wasnt set up for that and I would need seat risers and a custom box! I highly suggest training your staff to handle and actually pay attention to what a customer is asking for instead of trying to up sell and ask questions theyve already been given the answers to! I was prepared to spend a good amount of money and if ya had an online store with prices I might have at least bought the equipment but due to the lack of knowledge and respect of at least reading the details ya missed this one. I wont be dealing with them any time soon if its avoidable.

I had a great experience today at Stereo King, I was installing some ditch lights on my truck and through my back out before I could finish and just couldn’t stand leaving it half done, I wasn’t sure who to call. Well I called Stereo King and I’m glad I did, decent labor rates and it’s a first come first serve basis so I was there the next morning and I showed them what was left to be done. They jumped right in and had it done in an hour, They texted me right away when it was done. After I got home I took a look at how they did with the wiring and I couldn’t have done any better. Had a problem with my Bluetooth. Only one side of my speakers were working. The gentleman that helped me took 45 minutes to figure it out. Didnt charge me anything. Thats great customer service!!

I came to Stereo King off 82nd Avenue a while ago and had a great experience! I had 4 new speakers installed in my 2002 Escalade EXT and when they did the installation they found some corroded wires. They installed the speakers, fixed the issue and replaced the corroded wires with no extra charge! I would highly recommend coming here for some great quality work and for a very reasonable price!I also wanted to thank their employee, Tanner. He was very honest, very humble, totally relaxed and was generally the type of person you want an interaction with when you walk into a store feeling clueless. He didnt rush me in any way nor did he pressure me into getting things I didnt want. Totally made me feel at home and deserves some recognition! I will definitely be back for my other vehicles, thank you Stereo King!

I wanted to upgrade my Mazda 3 to Android Auto/Carplay, and found that it only required a replacement USB hub and cable. The dealer wanted $500! but Stereo Guys perform the installation for a far more reasonable rate. The work was done professionally and quickly and it works! The team was friendly and flexible and I wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

Earlier this week they installed a pair of 12s with a 500w fosgate amp,keyless entry and a back up camera in my 2011 Ram 2500 and it sounds awesome! Spur of the moment stop,but ended up buying a deck,remote start and back up camera for my SUV. Took it in first thing the next morning for installation,shop did a good job and was quick.Fast forward a couple of days, backup camera starts coming on driving down the road randomly. Stereo King looked at the whole system a few times over the course of a week or so,they even attempted to contact Pioneer. Finally got the problem to happen in front of Jason,he immediately offered to replace the deck, I opted to go with an upgraded Kenwood deck and pay the difference. ( A big screw you to Pioneer ) The shop has been fantastic to deal with,at no time did I experience anything but exceptional customer service. New system is working flawlessly.A big thank you to the whole crew at Stereo King in Gresham.Dennis

What a joke. Everyone gets to play the Hunger Games to be first in line for an opportunity to get something installed because they wont schedule an appointment. Unless you fight another waiting in the lobby to be first,youre screwed and just have to walk out shaking your head in disgust. Lame!Never again.👎

I recently had some underwater RBG Transom lights installed on my 2020 Mastercraft X24. When I called to ask if they could do the job the sales rep was very confident that they have done these lights on many boats previously. Which in my case I had called many stereo shops and the ones I had called in my local area were reluctant to take the job on. I drove about 300 miles to get this work done. I got there on a Thursday afternoon they took my boat in and put it in one of there bays. They called me the very next morning and had it done around 9 am. The job they did on my boat I was very impressed with. The service was top notch and would recommend boat enthusiasts to check them out for your stereo needs! I would give them a 10 out of 10!

They had a good sale going on. I saved a lot on my jl audio box, but paid above retail on my new amp. Decided to pay the lazy tax, and have them do the install, on account of so many car functions integrated into the audio. Long story short, they cut the wires going to the factory sub (I asked them not to), and in turn lost my back up sensors. And to top it off, they didnt set up the amp correctly, and suggested that the 300 watts going to my jl 10 wasnt enough, and that I should leave my back seats down ( I have kids, not doing that), turns out that they set the high pass and low pass to the same frequency. I might buy stuff from them again, but will never have them install anything. Oh, and they arent responding to me about the wiring concerns.

I’ve been buying my car stereos and other equipment from Stereo King now for over 40 years! Never had any serious problems with Stereo King. The couple minor problems Stereo King has always resolved as quickly as possible. Update, unfortunately I’m sorry to say after all these years of doing business with Stereo King their business has gone downhill with service helping their customers. Last time I went in the Stereo King on 82nd ave. I got absolutely no attention from the staff at all. I waited for someone to ask me if they could help me for over a half hour and finally just left the store empty handed. For the very first time in decades I ended up going to one of Stereo King’s competitors to buy the items I was looking for that were more then willing to give me their attention and helping me find the items I wanted to buy! Sadly, not having a stereo king employee come to ask if they can help you within a few minutes never use to happen 20-30 years ago. To have to wait a half hour standing around in the store especially when they didn’t seem very busy with other customers either just plain unacceptable in my opinion and certainly not the kind of service I’m use to from Stereo King! Hope they get their act back together soon? For being a loyal customer for decades it’s disappointing to see this business go down hill. Maybe the other Stereo King locations do better? Personally, I really miss the original owners that use to run Stereo King and I had a very good relationship with the owners back then! You obviously don’t get that personal touch any more!

My car alarm install was quick and easy. They left me with a coke after the project was done. Nice touch. I should have went with them for my first install of my system. Great and reliable and friendly.

Called to get a quote was asked to stop by I do so where I stand in line to have customers come in after me are helped. After waiting for 20 min I had to leave. I come back later in the day. Got helped right away. I tell them my budget of 600 and what I am looking for. They said no problem. Plenty of options for my budget. My quote was 820.00. And that was the only option offered. Save your time and go somewhere else.

Stereo King on 82nd is terrific!! Customer attention and service is the best. My grandson took his car to another stereo place and was told it would cost $900 to fix car stereo without looking at it. We took it to Stereo King on 82nd this morning at 9 am. They took it into their shop for a look. Thirty minutes later and 2 new fuses and the stereo was fixed at a cost of $45. I highly recommend Stereo King on 82nd in Portland, near Clackamas Town Center!!!

This is my 2nd bad experience here.I came in looking for a replacement for my factory stereo in my 2014 Toyota RAV4. My requirements were I wanted CarPlay, all my steering wheel controls, factory backup camera, and any other basic systems to still work on the new stereo. I was told that they could use multiple harnesses to get my camera to work, but told me my built in USB port wouldnt work. Whats even worse is they gave me a price before I even looked at a stereo. He told me it was gonna be starting at about $1200 and when I asked why so much he explained the camera needed some extra wiring, and I dont even know if this price included the stereo!This place takes advantage of anyone who hasnt done any prior research, and I felt more like a burden than a customer (and I was the only one in the store!)I went down the street to car toys, and they got everything I needed, was able to get my backup cam wired with just the standard harness, wired my existing USB port and gave me even more features than I had before, all for $1000 WITH a 4 year warranty!Come to stereo king if you want to be treated like a burden, go to car toys if you want excellence!

Logan is the man- he helped me pick out a great set of door / tweeters and a JL 10” that packs way more punch then it has any business having. He worked with me and had great communication, and the install is extremely clean and professional. The bass knob even got integrated into the dash which looks great. A quick experience as well; barely 15 seconds into stepping through the door and I was already testing speakers. They also have a lot of covid precautions up including register shields and hand sanitizer, masks mandatory, so I felt safe being there. All in all I got 5 star service, will definitely recommend this shop to others. Thanks!

Nice to have my remotes work finally

It started a little shaky, and we were there for about 15 minutes not really getting answers. Then Kevin asked if he could help us and WOW! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Ask for Kevin if you go, he was a wealth of knowledge and found the bass knob we needed as if by magic. We were first not told that they were going to check the warehouse, we were just let hanging, and then Kevin just pulled the exact bass knob we needed out of the drawer. Voila! He knew exactly where the wire was as well, and looked at our system and was extremely helpful. Just lovely to meet. I would recommend his help with any car stereo questions.

Didnt get the service that I should have. I explained what I wanted and about what I wanted to spend and I kept getting shown equipment that was way more expensive.

I showed up late from another town to get a product that only they had. Then they were super helpful and even stayed well past closing time to help me out because I drove such a long distance with my children. Then 3 months later when I called about a question I couldnt find answers about. They were the most helpful and best answer I had out of anybody that Ive asked prior!!!Threw the little thing people about. In the end theyre all great people awesome establishment!!
