Products are great, the customer service thou, needs a little bit of work. I typically order my candle supplies from The Flaming Candle Co., or California Candle Co., but I decided to try this company out one night, while scrolling through various distributors. All I can say is...I had made an order from Shay and Company, the same day I placed an order with the two above mentioned companies...I’ve had my order from This company for a week now, but I’m still waiting on my shipment from the other two! The shipping was phenomenal! I do wish they’d add more scents, but at least I received my wax in a timely manner! This is definitely a great backup option, in case I need something quickly! I will update my review once I’ve used the wax I purchased, which was the C-6 Soy/coconut blend!

Don’t let what appears, from the outside, a tiny location fool you, this company is amazing. I originally went to them for one product that I needed, now I go to them for 95% of the items I need.From SLSa to Himalayan pink salt and everything in between, if you are a bath and body product maker, like myself, you need to go here. No storefront. Some good essential oils, but the beeswax pellets I bought smelled FOUL and ruined my cosmetics, which Ive never experienced with a supplier before.

As a hobbyist/amateur soap-and-skincare-maker, I want to express my appreciation for Shay and Company. To note for readers, this company is not here to teach you your craft. They are wholesalers.Aside from being quite affordable and local to me, their service works easily and understandably - stop in and order, or order online for shipping or will-call pickup. Ive had minor frustrations with the information on the website (particularly certain fragrances that are noted to not accelerate cold process soap, but went zoom when I tried them myself), yet Im holding this review as 5-star because of the following customer service experience:I purchased organic shea butter, thinking, Oh. Its certified organic and Free Trade. This feels nice all over! I take it home and pop it open, finding it smelled a bit like sour milk. I expect nuttiness and/or smokiness, either of which pungently so, but not sour. My housemates thought it smelled rancid. My co-worker who I made some body butter for thought it smelled rancid. So I took it back in and they sniffed, saying its the real deal and to be expected with an organic product. Sniffers and preferences aside, I didnt have a wide frame of reference to draw from, so I was willing to believe it.That said, when I asked which shea butter I purchased before so I could go back to it, they replaced what I brought back at no charge. And it was a good, level communication, one that said (without saying out loud), Look, you didnt know what you were getting, so well do you a solid. But were taking a loss (that part they DID say), so count this as your one-and-only strike. As someone whos worked in customer service before, I appreciate how this was handled; Make it right with the client, but also educate and set expectations.All said, Im quite impressed with this operation. Although Im likely to source some fragrances and colorants from elsewhere, I intend for a good 90% or better of my materials to come from Shay and Company.

Such a treasure of a find. Due to a couple of mishaps on my end, I got there about 15 mins to close. Usually when this happens employees are less than thrilled. Not here, the gentleman working was very calm and helpfully, he even went to look up preservatives on line for me because I forgot my list. Their prices are competitive and way better then craft stores. Im very excited to have somewhere in town to get my diy beauty and soap supplies. And not have to put a second mortgage out on the house just to afford it .PS make sure to look at their hours of operation. They are not typical. This is likely due to covid.

When my company needed a few supplies, their store staff were very helpful, very friendly and had everything already in stock I needed. Their pricing is pretty good too. The only comment I have is that their pricing for individual containers (tins, bottles, etc) is double if youre used to shopping commercial/wholesale. Beyond that, theyre a nice place to visit.

Shay and Company always has what I need and at a very affordable price! I had previously purchased a gallon of coconut oil at a different store and it was 10 $ more at the competitor. Needless to say I will only be choosing Shay and Company for my soap supply needs.

The quality of their products is on par with other companies I have ordered soap making supplies from, but their prices cant be beat! I love it that there is a soap supplies company right in my own back yard, no more shipping costs for me! They dont have a huge selection of products, but what they do have is the best price Ive found, so if they have it I buy it because I know I wont find a better price elsewhere. Everyone I have had contact with there is friendly and willing to share info without being pushy - its obvious that they realize their products sell themselves!

I visited for the first time on Monday. The store has a variety of books, butters, fixed oils, essential and fragrance oils and other supplies for soap and spa products. Julie was extremely friendly and helpful and I found their prices quite good. They even sell many Brambleberry and other brands which means I wouldnt have to pay for shipping.I look forward to taking the Goats Milk lotion class and just wish this was a little closer to Beaverton!

The staff arent friendly, the place is dirty, and items are not properly labeled. The person checking me out checked her personal cell phone in the middle of the transaction. Even though the prices are fairly cheap, I will not go again. Not once did an employee ask me if I needed help & I told her from the beginning that I am a beginning soap maker. The store layout in general sucks because the supplies are off in this little room so if you have questions you have to walk down a hallway to the front desk; it would be soooo easy to steal things because the employees are off in another room away from where you shop. . Signage could be greatly improved and include prices of smaller amounts. .

I purchased a 16 oz bottle of Ambers Romance and tried it twice in my cp soaps both times it went rock hard on me before getting it to the mold I have been soaping for 8 years and this is the worst Ive seen in a scent. DO NOT PURCHASE FOR CP SOAP!!! WASTE OF MONEY AND WASTE OF MY OILS!!! NOT HAPPY!!!!!
