I am super impressed with their EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I needed some special parts for my Yanmar marine engines and had superb help from Blair in their parts department. He was quick to respond with a complete invoice of all the parts I needed and he special ordered those parts not in stock. I found their prices to be very competitive and I repeat —the customer service is SUPERB.Thank you so much,I will definitely order again from you in the future.Jonathan
I love these guys and their operation...excellent communications with a difficult situation...my sailboat was due for bottom paint and when the crew got into it, they found lots of problems which they communicated to me and repaired in a professional craftsman manner...my hull is now ready to go to the ocean...my thanks to Brian, Blair and Joe for a great job very well done...
Never has this kind of service at a boatyard been so easy.Brian always answers his calls or returns them quickly.extra good considering the pandemic & very dense smoke.also very fair with their pricing.i would highly recommend Multnoma yacht repair..
MYR is awesome. Very friendly. Fit me in for dewinterization and took care of some much needed repairs. Really appreciate the thorough work. Highest recommendation I can give. Thanks MYR!
Very happy boater! When it came time to lift our boat out of the water for the first time we were faced with finding a yard we felt would do a good job for our needs. From the beginning Maltnomah Yacht Repair was professional and responsive to our needs. At our first meeting the owner Joe took the time to sit with me, listen to my unique needs and formulate a plan that would work in our budget, timeframe and expectations. After the meeting they prepared a detailed formal quote outlining price and scope of work to be done which really helped set a roadmap from start to finish.Once the work started the yard manager Brian took over. Upon dropping off the boat we meet and went over my expectations. This is KEY, Brian is not a mind reader so the better you communicate your expectations, the better he can do his job! Brian kept me well informed though the 4 week process and even followed up a few weeks after it was back in the water to make sure I was happy. We used a spectrum of services from their team (bottom coat, new stern thruster installation, new seacock valves, new anchor chain, fiberglass and gel coat repairs) and were happy with all. I found their prices on parts to be competitive with most online markets. In the end they were on time, on budget and good people to work with.
Brian has fixed my boat several times....and has always been professional, and has great advice. Dacia is great with customer service, and moorage issues....great people to deal with, and Will recommend to others! Thanks for being great.....in a time thats unpredictable....
Multnomah was a great place to store my boat and trailer. Dacia was fantastic to work with and made the process smooth and easy!
This post was created prior to repairs being completed. Will update following service.
We took our boat to Multnomah Yacht Repair to have a serious transom leak repaired. Its the busiest season for boat shops as everyone is preparing for their summer on the water, and every single customer needs their boat serviced and water worthy by yesterday, if not sooner, of course. Needless to say, they were very busy with new customers and repeat customers, which is a strong sign of a good shop, in my opinion. Manager Brian Smith assessed the problem with my boat, advised me of the approximate price I should expect to pay for the repair - which was a very fair price based on estimates I have since received, and was very honest with me about the wait time because their mechanics were booked solid at that time of year. We needed our boat sooner than that so Brian advised me of reputable local shops that may be able to fix it sooner, and then Brian reduced my bill substantially from what we had agreed upon for the diagnostic work they had done to find the problem with my boat.Yes. That is correct. I said Brian referred me to a competitors shop and then charged me substantially less than we had agreed upon when I dropped my boat off with him. That is exceptionally good customer service. I appreciated Brians honesty, and I especially appreciated that he was fair to me as his customer far above and beyond my expectations. In the future I will not wait until boating season arrives to try to squeeze my boat into their schedule for service, and I guarantee you that I will be a repeat customer of Multnomah Yacht Repair as long as Brian is there exceeding customer expectations like that.
From initial contact until we drove away with Selkie loaded on the trailer, Brian and his team at Multnomah Yacht Repair did an exceptional job. Including coordinating the haul out into his earliest opening, accommodating our late arrival and having all hands working to get Selkie fitted to the trailer before we secured in place and hit the road. We were confident that they knew what to do safely with additional care to my 32’ Columbia Sabre. I am very grateful for the teams positive attitudes and can-do spirit. I look forward to working with the team again as I proceed with my build and complete long overdue repair work. Thank you Multnomah Yacht Repair! The Portland area waterways are lucky to have you available and getting the job done right!!Brendan Kerg
Outstanding, professional service. Received my sailboat from New York, bottom painted, rigged and launched. This is the most competent, friendly staff I have ever encountered in a marina. Joe was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of my boat and the staff did an amazing gel coat repair from the trucking damage. Deb guided this project with skill and politeness along every step of the journey and kept me informed of every decision. The costs were more than reasonable and the marina stocked an astounding amount of parts. This is truly a 5 star marina.
EXCELLENT! I cant say much more for this company and crew. I purchased a boat and had Joe conduct the survey. He was very thorough and took the time to explain things to me. Of course there were some minor repairs and standard maintenance needed, I scheduled the work as soon as possible and they fit me in their schedule. The price is very reasonable, and they perform some of the best work I have ever seen. All of the staff were very professional and respectful during our time there. I HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone that owns a boat.
I had a boat shipped from California and wanted to get a baseline on anodes, fluids, filters, thousand hour service, etc. Brian gave me reasonable quotes, stuck to the time line and treated me fairly. I would definitely go back to MYR.
This is the second year of our Pontoon boat at Multnomah Yacht Harbor. Nice place with card lock access. Lots of parking. Skylar is so nice and helpful. I feel good that the area is well patrolled by Portland Police even at Harbor Way lately.
It is so refreshing to interact with a company with great customer service. Skylar and the team were so nice to work with. They were available, thorough and answered all of our questions above and beyond! Thank you!
After my close encounter with a submerged piling; Joe and crew were there to get my running gear back on track. It didnt take long to see why Joe won the National Mechanic of the year Award a few years back. He isnt only qualified, he is personable, squared away and this family ran business maintains a highly capable staff. Each member of the Staff treated me with respect, showed professionalism and enjoy their jobs. Deb the Office Manager is most helpful and along with Joes broad knowledge and network resources I was able to get multiple jobs completed, make some friends and find a go to spot for my future boat projects.
Brian and his team returned my boat to its original condition following an accident that left me with some hull and motor damage. They worked with my insurance and acquired parts that were difficult to find during the pandemic. Very professional.
Deborah, the angel, completed an almost insurmountable task. Long story short she completed a logistics nightmare. Because of an emergency we needed a sail boat bottom painted and delivered to a remote destination. We were not in Oregon and she quickly and with utmost efficiency managed got the bottom painted and delivery of our boat to a remote location far from the oceans and waterways. Not enough can be said for her compassion, perseverance, patience, and diligence in our time of need. Heartfelt thank you Deb and crew.
Great boaters friend. Affordable moorage, Travel-lift, and full boat repair yard. Super knowledgeable, and Im critical about quality.
We were so impressed with the quality of the repairs done and with how knowledgeable Joe Ashton and his entire crew were, that we chose his yard for a complete refit of our boat. We re-powered with John Deere engines, upgraded electrical replaced and added electronics, added a water-maker, a new epoxy bottom, stabilizers, new appliances in the galley and unending list of miscellaneous items. We would highly recommend this yard.
I keep my boat here every summer. It’s convienient and they’ve done a great job accommodating my needs. They also communicate quickly if something needs addressing.
Being a new-we boat owner Brian (service manager) and the team were very thorough in explaining the end-to-end process of getting our boat back in the water. In the future I definitely plan on goi g back to MYR&C, and would recommend them to anyone in need of either big or small boat repairs.
Excellent customer service. We needed some last minute Yanmar parts for a trip, they had them at a great price and since it was a weekend we were picking them up they put them in a lockbox for us to pick up. Easy to work with and great prices!!
We loved the prompt answers to all our questions from the enthusiastic office staff. Finding an appropriate launch site for our tug boat was quite a chore. Joe and his crew were very efficient and knowledgable. We will definitely be back next season.
Excellent service, the crew is very knowledgeable in what they do. The office front desk Debora McQueen who took care of my request to bottom paint my boat with zinc is very knowledgeable in what she does and very friendly . Thank you and I will see you guys in two years to redo the zinc bottom paint to my boat.
Multnomah Yacht did a great job on a major re-fit for my boat. They were precise, priced well, gave thorough estimates and stuck to schedule.A great place for any of your boat needs. They are a full service business for boats.
Five star service!! I shipped a boat to MV Yacht Repair and arranged forextensive service and a partial refit. The bids were accurate, the work excellent, and the customer service exceptional. This is an ideal boat yard:small enough to provide personalized service yet Joe and his crew havethe expertise for technical and complex projects. Working with them was a pleasure
We had just purchased a small tug and needed to haul it out near its home port. We had only a few days to get this done. Multnomah was the nearest facility that could handle this. The staff was more than helpful in accommodating our needs. They juggled there schedule and manged to fit us in. We could not have made the delivery of our tug with out them.I will absolutly keep them on speed dial.
Mult Yacht Repair did an excellent job for me, and did it on short notice.I unexpectedly needed a lift to address zincs and had a list of other minor repairs best addressed out of the water. The lift was done carefully with attention to every detail of protecting the boat. The work was done efficiently and Joe took the time to explain the work they had done, and explained other service they would like to do but without being pushy. The boat was back in the water on schedule, and they followed up to assure I was pleased with the outcome. I have used Mult Yacht Repair in years past and will use them again in the future.
I have been taking my 40 foot boat to Multnomah yacht repair for 14 years. They have given me great service including extensive repairs as well as the simplest adjustments. I have found Joe and his staff to be knowledgeable, skilled, honest and very friendly. Thank you for keeping my boat in ship shape!
I purchased two new John Deere engines for my boat from MYR. Deb McQueen was fantastic to work with, quick, accurate and efficient. It seems her number one goal is a happy and satisfied customer. Top notch and I highly recommend this company.
I feel very comfortable with the ability of Brian and the crew at Multnomah Yacht Repair. they were helpful and willing to think outside the box when it came to getting the job done on our Carver 430 CMY, also stayed on track with the original estimate of price.I will be coming back, and would recommend them for your next project.
What great service painting the bottom of my Hewes. Brian was so helpfulland fair. I will be back to have them recoat when its ready !Thanks again Brian !
Excellent customer service. Skylar was very knowledgeable about the Oregon State Marine Board title and registration process.
The staff did a great job with our bottom paint and mast step. They took a lot of care lifting our boat and placing it in on the stands. They did their best to fit my schedule during a very busy time of the year.
Excellent staff, very knowledgeable and willing to help you out with any queries you may have about your craft. This is where Ill be coming from now on to have my boats repaired.
I found Joe and his staff very knowledgeable and informative. They repowered my vessel and had shown me some issues I was not aware of. I highly recommend them. They were the Pros and very professional. Ill mention them every time I can.
Over the past several years I have had the opportunity to use Multnomah Yacht Repair and Multnomah Yacht Harbor. Several different boats, several different bottom paint jobs on glass and metal, several repairs including electrical, and slip rental. All good experiences, competitive pricing, and good work ethics and timing.
Hello, a note to anyone interested in work on boats or having travel lift needs in the Portland Oregon area. We had scheduled a travel lift of steel beams to be lowered to a barge on the water. Time was to be 9 am. The tug boat was there on time. Our labor was there on time. Multnomah Yacht Services was ready and set to go. The steel yard delivery truck failed to show up and changed all of our plans for the day. Joe, the owner stepped in and reset the truck delivery time till 3 pm that same day. Not only that he gave the truck driver a piece of his mind about their delivery service. He could have charged us standby time but waived it for us. Multnomah Yacht Repair put our work before their own. The change in their schedule meant they didnt finish planned work of their own.Deb at the front desk is quick to adjust to the needs of her employer and to customers. Joe, is lucky to have such a good communicator. Lastly, I would like to thank Joe for helping us keep close to our schedule. Multnomah Yacht Repair, finished loading the material down to the barge and we delivered it to our job site today. Saving me crucial tug boat time and cost. So, if you need work on boats, motors, yachts, lifting materials to the river. Call Multnomah Yacht Repair. Then and ask for Joe. Then tell him That Dan Riedl from Riverbank LLC recommended them.Thank You!
Ive been familiar with this company since 2004. The standards of workmanship and detail are higher than other boat repair facilities in Portland I am familiar with. When the 36 ft Cascade I crew on was damaged in a collision earlier this year and the sheer was broken, the only yard I would trust with this devastating damage is MYR. We were kept informed of the progress and when she was done...the repair work on the stbd side of the deck and hull was flawless on both axis. The interior work was well done, the mahogany plywood chosen for the damaged bulkhead was chosen as it most closely resembled the grain of the original wood. Fresh bottom paint and a new boot stripe completed the work. Just as important as the structural work was the cleanliness of the boat when we took delivery of her. The decks were cleaned and the cabin was spotless...Excellent work, I would recommend MYR to any of my friends or clients.
Excellent service. I couldnt find my boat trailer fenders anywhere in town or online. I gave Deb the VIN off my trailer and she had them in two days!!
Great people. Got my boat off of the transport trailer, wheels on and in the water.
They did a great job finding what I couldnt fix on my planing machine. their technician saw a connector that looked completely out of place to do being an interior plug in an exterior setting. he fixed this problem and everying was right again. Their sales staff was very friendly and responsive and great at accomodating me last minute.
Excellent answers, knowledge and friendly care.We have had our small boat parked in the trailer yard for several years, and have always gotten good service from the folks at MYH, including permission to put up one of those assembled covers to keep the weather off, and permission to angle the assembly later to make getting in and out easier. And we get a discount for paying the parking a year at a time.We have a very small, old speedboat and it shows its age! It was somewhat intimidating to see all those BIG beautiful boats in the service yard; we wrongly figured we were small potatoes and kept towing our boat to Hayden Island when it needed some kind of service. This season we couldnt, and found out that the folks right there were happy to work on the boat, very helpful and fast -- what might have taken our other mechanic weeks to get to during high season took just a couple of weeks. We never felt upsold or like something was b eing suggested that would cost more -- in fact, a few things cost less than we were quoted and the staff was excellent about keeping in the range of estimated time (Please look for this problem for no longer than one charged hour, for example). We are vary happy with how great the boat is running and keeping it localwithout trailering it away to get regular service makes it much easier. Thank you!
I have a 41 chris commander that we had shipped down from port orchard which was quite an event to get here, they were very acomidating on working with the shipping company and once it was there had the hull underwater services completed, upon picking it up i had an issue were it would not start ended up it was a solinoid that was failing, not there fault just bad timing....i wiil be back ....good folks.
Worst experience ever! My wood boat was finally ready for launch. I arranged transport to MYR and the boat was lifted from the truck to the water. While still in the sling, MYR recommended bringing her up because she was leaking. The problem was quickly identified as a seam that had opened up. (We could have let her soak a few hours, but that was not an option). Obviously, a quick fix in anybody’s book. But, no, I was informed that MYR would not caulk the seam. Nor would they allow me to touch my boat in any way, no matter how minor the task. Also, they refused to allow me to bring in my own shipwright to caulk the seam. Instead, MYR offered no solution whatsoever, and demanded that I immediately transport the boat out of the yard.A couple of months later, I launched the boat at RP. Maybe they’re more knowledgeable, customer friendly or both, but a much different experience. This time, we again found a seam leaking more than we wanted to wait to swell up tight. No problem, RP simply lifted the boat with the Travel-Lift and while still hanging in the sling I was invited to fill the problem seam. Back in the water in less than an hour and on my way. Only $100 for the extra service. Compare to MYR where the bill for the day was almost $2k, for nothing but wasted time and headache. MYR is the last place you would want to take your boat for anything.
Fantastic service.
Very nice staff here.
Delightful
Great service!
