Earlier this year I had a fantastic experience buying a used Cobalt from Buzz at Northwest Boat Center.This was my first boat, and as you can imagine I had numerous questions. Normally, when buying a vehicle or making a purchase this large I’d go in person and talk to the owner/salesman and see the item in person. However, living in Seattle and at the beginning stages of a global pandemic, I didn’t want to drive to Oregon unnecessarily. Buzz was really great to work with and answered all of my questions and provided additional photos and videos so that I had all of the information I needed to make an informed decision before driving South. When I decided to purchase the boat, Buzz made sure that everything was ready to go and all I had to do was sign a couple of papers and hook the boat up to my truck. Being new to boating, Alec, Buzz’s son, walked me through the boat, the options it had and answered all of my questions.Even the follow up experience was good – Buzz reached out a week or two later to see if I had any additional questions and found out that there was an error at UPS and somehow my license plates ended up on the East Coast. Buzz went to great lengths to track them down and make sure they got rerouted to me in Seattle.I’d definitely do business with Northwest Boat Center again. It was a great experience across the board!

Enjoyed working with Alec, he was very helpful and answered all the questions. No pressure just a guy that loves boats and the water. In the end we purchased a South Bay pontoon, couldnt be happier. Cant wait to get on the water, but having to stay at home and the lakes closed isnt helping.

Found the boat I wanted at the right price but the experience was less than ideal. Buzz and Alec were very friendly while making the deal, I have no doubt they are great to work with. But there were a series of events that left me with a bad taste. Ive had a few minor issues with the boat and I dont even feel like contacting them. First, I was treated like a lowlife when their bank messed up scanning my down payment check, scanned my account number incorrectly so it came back as NSF. I had to call their bank myself to find out what happened and run cash down to them. Second, a side piece of the vinyl flew off while towing home and the dealer told me to have one made by a vinyl shop. I called the manufacturer myself, who was miffed that they didnt figure things out for me, and they ended up sending me a new piece. Third, I have not been contacted a single time since the sell and its been a year now. I knew exactly the boat I wanted, was easy financing, and they really had no work to do but they didnt seem too interested in keeping me as a repeat customer. Ill give them a whirl when I need service and see if I can add another star.I see a lot of good reviews so maybe my experience was an anomaly, but Ive had much better experiences at car and RV dealerships than the one I had here. Maybe its a boat thing, but I certainly hope not.

First met Buzz and Alec at the boat show. Great guys, nice and informative. Answered all my numerous questions and didnt make me feel like I was less important than the other thousands of buyer sat the show. They ran out of the boat we wanted and worked with the manufacture to get us an upgrade to the next higher model at no cost! Honored the boat show price and everything! They did this all at the show. Came by their office to final out paperwork for the order and make a deposit. No problems, all smooth and they took their time with us. Only hiccup was the manufacture was very overwhelmed with the volume of orders from the show and the boat was about 2 1/2 months late on delivery. However, the manufacture (Premier Marine) more than made up for it with several significant upgrades. Couldnt be happier. On the day of pickup, Alec took us out on the Columbia for the first voyage and walked us through the operation of the boat.I couldnt be happier with this boat and the guys at NW Boat Center. They really came through.

Amazing experience! I rushed to buy a boat at 4:30 on a Friday, and after a great deal of help from Alec I was in the water by noon on Saturday! Top quality sales along with a MOUNTAIN of new boat owner advice (including a trip to the dock to help me launch and show me the ropes!).Would recommend, will buy here again when I feel its time to upgrade!

Recently I was in market for a high-end, performance oriented pontoon boat and had an opportunity to meet Alec at Northwest Boat Center. I was impressed with the Premier line, but I was very impressed with Alecs boat knowledge and his straightforward approach. He is quick with follow-up and has a very good command of whats important in pontoon boats. I suspect the same can be said of the other boats/motors that Northwest represents.Unfortunately, I did not buy a new Premier pontoon from Northwest as I found a very unusual deal on a 2014 demo boat located in Minnesota. When I get ready to sell that boat, and buy again, Northwest will be my first stop.

These guys know boats! When it comes to salesmen and dealerships, what matters most to me is that Im treated with respect and fairness. They have exceeded my expectations, in terms of both purchasing and service!! I never felt the usual looming pressure to buy. Instead I was provided with the essential information I needed to make a wise boat buying decision. My experience was absolutely wonderful. I had the pleasure of meeting and having Buzz as my salesperson. He went above and beyond to make sure that my boat was set up just as I had mentioned. What a great welcoming experience as if you were family. I contacted them on Saturday evening to look at a boat I saw online. They were just closing and it was going to take me at least 20 minutes to arrive and they stayed 20 minutes after closing for me to get there, look at the boat and decide what I wanted to do. After I looked at the boat they allowed me to put a deposit down to hold it so I could figure out my financing through the weekend. Knowing that they were closed on Monday they also allowed me to come test drive the boat on the Columbia River after I had my financing set up on Monday late morning. When I finished with the test drive I was able to instantly take delivery with little to no paperwork process or any sales tactics but just friendly kind faces that really care about the means for your family and making sure you bought the right boat. I live in Boise and spent 3 months looking across the Pacific Northwest for my perfect fishing boat. I found it at NW Boat Center in Portland. Being 300 miles away could have been a challenge, but Buzz and Alec were awesome to work with. They were very knowledgeable about the boat and went out of their way to make the entire transaction simple.

NW Boat Center had exactly what I wanted in a new fishing boat. As a consumer who prioritizes quality above price, it was a nice surprise to find exactly what I wanted in terms of quality without having to order and wait several weeks for delivery. Buzz and Alec were both great to work with and had my new AlumaCraft Escape 145 cs prepped and ready to go when promised. I anticipate working with NW Boat Center again in the future and highly recommend them.

AWESOME customer service. Bought a boat over the phone and email as I was 1,000 miles away. As difficult as that is, Buzz and Alec made sure everything was perfect, every option was explained and installed to my liking, and the boat was delivered on time, EXACTLY as ordered (and Im sure I wasnt easy!). First off let me tell you that I am not a current boat owner but my partner and I have been looking/shopping off and on for some time. Alec at Northwest Boat Center really knows his stuff and his genuine love for boats/his job shows. He has always been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and ready to answer all of the questions we have. Despite our dragging feet the staff at NWBC always take us very seriously and treat us like we are their best customer. I really cant think of anyone (or place) who knows more about their product(s) (and we have shopped around) and we will definitely be purchasing a boat here someday soon.

Buzz Nielsen and Alec are the VERY BEST! They are straight shooters and they do what they say!!! Last year at the Boat Show I purchased a 2013 Alumacraft 16.5 Fishing Boat. I had them put every upgrade made for a boat on it. I exchanged over 200 emails during the process. Buzz answered every question I had and always took the time to explain his answers in detail. I owned a Triumph which I enjoyed a great deal but had been in the market for a larger boat with salt water fishing in mind. When servicing my Triumph I discovered NW Boats was recently awarded the Striper line and had exactly what I was looking for on the showroom floor complete with E-Tec engine. NW Boats took care of consignment of my Triumph giving me a fair trade in allowing me to move up to my Striper. They helped me accessorize and even picked up and expertly installed the components for me as they were delivered to local merchants saving me the trouble of doing so. They have been fair and responsible throughout the transaction and responded quickly to my ongoing needs and the details regarding my new boat. They are quick to refer me to appropriate support people if they feel they cannot handle the the job I need done. Dealing with just 1 or at the most 2 people makes NW Boats an appealing dealer to do business with.
