You don’t find a customer service from a big retailer like the service from West marine. There is always someone on the the floor looking for customer and providing help and insight. If they don’t have the answer then they call someone who does.

This West Marine is huge. Third largest on the west coast they say. They held a sale item for me until I could get there. Very nice people and knowledgeable about all the stuff that they sell. Worth the hour and a half drive.

Lovely staff. Prices reasonable. I was looking for a womens rain coat. I am a big lady 1x, wanted a 2x to wear clothes under. No good jackets for women as in colors or feminine, only bright yellow, army green and blue, now I am not real fussy but, I did not want to look like a big man, with square shoulders and straight sides also the sleeves on mens jackets are 4 inches longer than my arms. Have to push up sleeves way high.

Very good service. They seemed to have lowered their prices so that was good to see. All around great shopping experience.

I generally like this store and up until my experience today, everyone has been helpful and pleasant.As Im inquiring about a part this afternoon, being helped by a parts counter person, another employee later identified as John Copper rudely interrupts and starts demanding that I go to the front of the store and put on a mask.I am exempt I tell him and he proceeds to ask why I am exempt.None of your business I tell him, if you knew the order youre trying to enforce, you wouldnt be asking.At this point he is only a couple of feet in front of me. Face masks are to be enforced when social distancing is not possible.Think about this for a second I tell him, youre in my face demanding I put a mask on, so its not really about the mask is it?? Youre ignoring your own taped signs on the floor to stay six feet apart!If you are so worried about me not wearing a mask because of your safety, you are not going to be getting in my face about a mask! Youre just going to keep your distance. If he was truly worried and spoke to me from a distance, I can understand that some people are scared weather the fear is justified or not. The fear would at least be understandable.John Copper, as he identified him self, needs to keep politics out of his workplace and not get into his colleagues customers faces about his political passions.A few minutes after my encounter with that clown, an older gentleman approaches the parts counter without a mask and no one bats an eye.

They lie about their warranty!! I bought a battery in 2017, the same time I bought my boat, I have photos dated documenting the sale. They could not, would not find my sale even though I am a gold member and all sales are recorded. Battery had 5 year warranty, they told me they never sold one of these batteries after 2012 WHICH IS A LIE and I have proof! DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE!!!

West Marine is a very pleasant place to shop. Unfortunately, it appears that the emphasis is swinging more towards nautical clothing than nautical equipment. There are still aisles and aisles of everyday marine equipment. But, if you have the time, for a greater selection, maybe shopping online is the way to go. I still go there cause I like the store and its convenient. There seems to be one in almost every seaside town.

If you need marine stuff its a good spot.

Someone has to teach the workers We are in a PANDEMIC! They get really close to you, They wear the mask in the wrong way (with the nose outside), They take out the mask. They should be more respectful! Teach them to be 6 feet away from you! A normal store, really big compare to others West Marine. They are not selling clothing in this time

Went in right before close to look for a fishing pole and PFG shirt and lost track of time. We were about to check out and the manager came up behind us an told us the store was closed and we had to leave. No warning, no letting us check out with what we had. It felt very rude and we truly just lost track of the time (it’s so light out now!). We won’t be back.

Expensive considering the lack of knowledge and stocking issues. Drove an hour to pick up a radio which said they had it in stock on their website, and which I called to double check to ensure it was in stock and held for me. They confirmed. When I arrived, there was not one in stock, and hadnt been for weeks. The website wasnt accurate and the employee never put a radio on reserve as stated. Not a huge deal but no radio for my trip the next day and $20 to have it shipped and arrive in 2.5 weeks. I decided to give them another shot when buying bottom paint. Asking the associate for a paint without copper based oxides to meet the new WA rules. Was sure of himself, but directed me to a paint with copper in it. A hey i dont know let me find someone who does would have sufficed.

I went here to buy some kayaks and boating gear. item prices were mislabeled and items rang up for a lot more then listed. Staff was not helpful. I walked out and will not be going back.

With the price match policy reinstated, this place went from last resort to no-brainer.Edit: well theyve updated their price match policy yet again.... Now they only match Amazon Prime and other brick and mortars. I dont know why they went from price matching while disregarding shipping costs to restricting everything but Amazon, but a happy medium seems more appropriate. I dont know if you realize this West Marine, but almost every one of your online competitors operates a brick and mortar in conjunction with their website just like you do, but I fear this spells the beginning of the end for West Marine.Maybe if theyd fire all the grumpy dinosaurs working there, and hire back half as many customer-focused people with a pep in their step they can cut down on labor and compete on price.

West Marine just earned a lifetime customer. I showed up minutes before closing, looking for something very specific. They were very courteous, found me exactly what I needed, AND THEY PRICE MATCHED!!! Great customer service experience

Decent selection in general with lots of things in stock. Better than a few other similar places in he area. Didnt have any employees ask us if we needed anything and we were there for roughly 30 mins. That can be good or bad depending on the person!

Own a boat and you know about West Marine. If an item isnt in stock they can order it for store or home delivery. In store delivery is shipped free.

They will give you misinformation about warrantees on their already overpriced products. Go to sextants. Real sailors who know their stuff.

The great place to get your fishing equipment your boat equipment all kinds of equipment for boats and some of the RV come and see it.

Everything you might need....just plan to pay top dollar. No deals here, but if you need it, this is the place to go.
