I can’t even begin to tell you what a great job these guys did for me. They allowed me to buy a used part and when the first one didn’t work they let me keep my vehicle at the shop for weeks while we waited for the replacement, moving it into a bay at night so nothing would get stolen. They didn’t even charge me for the fluid the second time around! Honestly, 5 stars isn’t enough. Did great work, and gave me really good advice. These guys are all about honesty and integrity!!! Highly recommend them.

They communicated with me clearly about pricing, timing, and the work they were doing. I wont bother with any of the other mechanics ever again.

I went to Scholls Ferry Automotive because I felt that my front brakes needed to be replaced I asked for worst case estimate. I let them take a look at my brakes and told them what I was looking at spending. They examined my truck and made the repair for what I felt was an honest amount for the work that was done. They made very appropriate suggestions to improve the safety of my vehicle. I appreciate the fact the I was treated honestly and with respect. The next time I need something done I will be coming back.

I have taken my current vehicle and my past vehicle to Scholls Ferry and have always felt confident. However, I recently took my car in for an oil change and they rotated my tires (which I did not ask for). i then went on a 360 mile trip and my car got noisy and started shaking. Had to stop at a Les Schwab to discover they had only hand tightened my lug nuts! I had lost 4 and could have lost a wheel! When I called, the man (not Chris) did not express any urgency and offered nothing in the way of explanation. They have lost a customer and I will take to social media to share my story!

This place is high quality and quite honest and upfront. Some people are never satisfied with auto repair rates and costs. While these guys arent the cheapest out there, their rates are still standard and they pay their techs a decent wage who in turn do good work and stay for a long time. This place has been my main shop for both my cars from oil change to other repairs and will continue to be so for as long as I work in the area.

My 4Runner was leaking oil pretty rapidly. I finally figured out the source of the leak (oil pressure sensor). I called around to other shops, but they were unfortunately not able to get my car in until the next week. Scholls Ferry Automotive was able to get my car in/finished in less than 1.5 days. They overnighted the part and finished it the next day. They even went the extra mile and pressure washed the undercarriage really well. Beforehand, it was caked in oil from the leak and many years of oil gradually leaking. Their prices are also very reasonable. I was very thankful they were able to turn my car around so quickly as I heavily depend on my vehicle for work. Thanks Scholls Ferry Automotive, I will definitely come again!

No worries about car care when you have these guys on your team! We started going to Scholls Ferry Automotive nearly 20 years ago and have always been pleased. They are friendly, thorough, and professional. They will alert you to conditions that don’t yet need to be taken care of but do need to be monitored and perhaps taken care of in upcoming months. Two recent exemplary five-star experiences: Christian took extra time to show me how to do a couple of under-the-hood checks. Chris replaced a burnt out headlight at no charge when it needed to be replaced a couple of weeks after I had major engine work done there! They are the greatest!

Scholls Ferry Auto surprised me today with their honesty, and I will continue to use them as my primary shop. They provide service consistently at a fair price and on time. After many years of not using them, I started back about a year ago, and today, I brought my car in for what could have been substantial charges, but they found that most of the work didnt need to be done, did only what was needed, and charged me accordingly. It is very nice to find an auto shop who provides very good service and does not take an open opportunity to make unnecessary charges.Thank you

I had a fuel leak this summer. Took it to Scholls Ferry as a referral. They could not find a fuel leak and informed me that they recommend taking apart the gas tank and extensively testing it. They put it back together and charged $732. After 2 weeks of driving, the fuel leak came back.I called them and asked what my options were. At that time, Chris (very professional) advised that I take it to Toyota because they could not fix it. I took it to a different auto shop and they could not find a leak as well and decided to replace the gas cap which cost $56. Since then the fuel leak has not come back. The second shop also said what (scholls ferry) did was crazy.Clearly, as a customer one would feel pretty cheated given this situation. Scholls Ferry maintains that they did nothing wrong. From a customer standpoint, I was charged $732 for a $56 fix.Ive contacted the shop directly to see if a partial refund can be given but they maintain no wrongdoing.

Ive used Scholl Ferry Automotive twice now, and both times they have exceeded my expectations for customer service. I recently came in with a check engine light on and they quickly found exactly what the issues were, and that the damage was caused by a recall notice on my car. They called the dealer for me to get more information, gave me a full diagnostic report, and offered to help me ensure my repairs were done for free by the dealer. I now have my car back with a practically new engine build at no cost, in part by their diligence, integrity, and service. Thank you!

I would not go back to Scholls Ferry Automotive. I went there to get my 1988 Honda A/C looked at. They said it would be 145.00 to look at it and plus R 12. They said that the R 12 cost 7.00 dollars a ounce. They never called me back with a update to tell me how much the total job would cost. I didnt know that my car would need 32 ounces. I had a budget in my mind. I would of never had it done if they would of called and told me. And the R 12 coo lent went up from $7.00 a ounce to $10.00 a ounce and they never called to tell me. They only called to tell me it was done and I owed 469.00. I only paid 500.00 for the car. When I brought up the change in price they could only give me a 10 percent off. Which still doesnt cover the price increase. And they were not willing to work with me anymore. They just said it is what it is, we are to only place in Portland that have R 12. Not true. Call around. Dont get stuck with a huge bill like me. There are a lot of Automotive places out there. They are way over priced.

Ive used SFA several times over the past couple of years and will continue to be a loyal customer. Chris and Gabe have always been very fair and honest and able to talk through whatever issues I needed to discuss. They have been able to perform work under the estimated price quoted and have even thrown in free wiper blades when they previously received the wrong model from their supplier. It seems to me those who have given them bad reviews dont understand the basic concept that time is money, especially to a small business. If a mechanic allocates time out of their schedule to inspect a vehicle, that is time they could have otherwise been spending on an actual repair and they should be compensated for that time. This is a business, not a charity, and a well-run business at that.

Scholls Ferry Automotive DAMAGED MY CAR! Brought my Acura TL in for a power steering pump replacement on April 24, 2019. Their estimate was $1900 with a $65 estimate fee.Scholls Ferry stated in addition to a steering pump I also needed a STEERING GEAR, HOSES and that I had a LEAK in the LEFT BELLOWS BOOT. Leary of the high quote I received a second opinion from One Time Automotive on April 27, 2019 and this is what they discovered. The car needed a new steering pump replacement, DID NOT need a new stearing gear or hoses as indicated. Also, I looked underneath my Acura and found a very recent man made puncture into the left bellows boot. There was NO indication of a bellows boot leak in the past! One Time Automotive repaired the bellows boot leak and charged me $413 to replace the steering pump with no additional estimate fee. Scholls Ferry wanted to charge me $591 with estimate fee-BIG DIFFERENCE!You can make money in the automotive business without scamming your customers and damaging their automobiles. The individual who owns this business has no integrity! Read all reviews-believe the negative ones because they are true!If you are looking for an Honest Auto Repair Shop, ONE TIME AUTOMOTIVE repair shop in Hillsboro is who I recommend!

I brought a Yukon Denali for a prepurchase inspection from Audi Beaverton. They were able to get me in immediately, which was lucky for me as they are pretty busy. I informed them that I was forewarned by the used car salesman at Audi Beavertons Sunset Imports that they couldnt be trusted and that they would try to sell me things I didnt need. The owner personally assured me that this wasnt true and explained their thorough prepurchase inspection. The owner was quite disappointed that the car salesman had badmouthed his business and I handed the owner the used car salesmans business card so he knew who had said it. After a lengthy inspection that I could see being performed from where I sat, they went over their findings with me. They said that if the dealer was willing to make these repairs, that I should buy it. They also said that they couldnt do many of the repairs because the parts were dealer specific parts that could only be ordered and repaired by the dealership. This just reinforced my belief that they were being 100% honest as they had no dog in this fight. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. Superb service, fair price, and trustworthy mechanics.

Review №52

Crooks, just like most of the other mechanics are.I read the the reviews and thought I could trust these folks. I am confident now that I was wrong and I will never recommend and I will never go back.I had my check engine light come on. I took my car to an auto parts store and used their obd2 tester and it spit out a code of p0850 park/neutral switch. So I did my research on Google and in the Nissan forums and found out it is more commonly known as a neutral safety switch and can be moderately serious to rebuilding your transmission serious. So I called these guys. I told them what the code was and what I was dealing with, they said to go ahead and bring it in and theyd get it looked at. Took it to them and they charged me $125 to tell me I was right and sent me to a transmission shop because they dont do that kind of work. You may or may not have had a good experience with these folks and I hope you do but from these eyes I told them what was wrong, they took my car in anyways and charged me dealership hourly diagnostic rates to tell me I was correct in the first place. Also in these eyes thats just downright wrong.Screw you Scholls Ferry Automotive and every chance I get to talk or write bad about you I will do so with fervor. I seriously wish your karma on you and your family and everyone you know.reply to your reply.blah blah blah blah blah. 1st and most importantly you did not quote me anything for diagnosing the issue. As in, and hear this clearly Kris... I never received ANY information about your rates or how long it would take.Having said that heres mine; 2 days off work, 5 days rental car 3 uber rides PL;US $4,373.88 for the rebuild of the transmission I absolutely positively wholeheartedly undoubtedly did NOT need to pay you guys another $125 TO TELL ME THAT WHAT I TOLD YOU WAS RIGHT.Write all the words you want Kris, pat your saintly self on the back for your oh-so-righteous guidance to a reputable transmission shop (I am helpless and retarded and deaf and mute too they should probably give you a nobel prize or something for your profound givingness) but the fact remains. I told you what was wrong with it. If you dont do that work then just refer me. That $125 cost you a lot more than $125. Let me ask you something o-mighty brain magnificent.... How much did your information about the voltages on each side of whatever help me??? IT DIDNT! NOT ONE BIT. SO NOT ONLY DID YOU CHARGE ME TO TELL YOU I WAS RIGHT YOU ALSO WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO CHARGE ME MORE BY GATHERING USELESS EXTRANEOUS INFORMATION!!Yes Kris, I told you what was wrong. I told you the possible range of the seriousness of the problem and the ONLY thing you needed to do for me was to get the information of whether or not that part was in the valve body. (which oh btw!!!! I already knew) So really Kris, to treat me fairly and to gain my loyalty and future business and great review(s) all you had to do to treat me fairly was to tell me YOU DONT DO THAT AND I NEED TO GO TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST!!!!So type all the pretty words you want and arrange all those pretty words in an order that continue to make you shine like freshly polished chrome for all the people to see but the truth is the truth. You charged me $125 for nothing. Like a crook.Oh and btw it doesnt seem like you have much experience dealing with internet complaints. So let me give you a little hint (I have about 2 months customer service experience in my life) You handled this incorrectly and in doing so only solidify that really being right is more important to you than being a decent human being.

They were friendly, fast, and did not try to upsell me once. I went in because of a large crack in the plastic of my radiator, I hate my car and am looking to replace it but in the meantime it was more cost effective to replace the radiator than to keep dumping antifreeze in to it. I told the staff this and they did not once ask me if I wanted them to fix any of the cars numerous other issues. Its due for an oil change, its misfiring (probably spark plugs) the power window motor on the drivers side it burnt out. But I told them I just wanted the radiator replaced to make it drivable again and thats all they did. I was amazed actaully.

O wow... worst experience with a mechanic ever. So, I brought in my car, the car needed at least a CV joint and probably some diagnosis of a sticking clutch and whatever else might be wrong. So, I get it in, pay for an hour of diagnosis. A few hours later, mechanic calls me back and says that the vehicle is not drivable and he did not do any repairs.Thats cool, your a mechanic, your supposed to fix un-drivable vehicles, but if you dont want my business. Im ok, with that, plenty of other mechanics in the area. It was driven around the block, you could have driven it onto a ramp and checked out the CV joints at least. Then they try and charge me 22.00 for a safety inspection? Get out of here!! 22.00 to tell me they will refuse to do work on my vehicle? Crazy. Anyways, they seemed to have it together, but a mechanic who wont even try and fix a car, that is weak. Not even a referral to a specialist. Just a we dont want to work on it, gimme some money. Ridiculous. Find another mechanic, one who can fix un-drivable cars.
