I have been taking my cars to Morgan Automotive since I moved to Portland 8 years ago. They have been consistently respectful in their communication with me and reliable in their service. Bryan goes above and beyond to ensure I understand the work they do and the problems my car has. I live in north Portland now but continue to take my car to them for even just oil changes because I like them so much. I trust them completely and wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

30 Years in the car business Ive dealt with a lot of service departments including Mercedes and BMW. Although having a large service department doesnt mean youll have a great experience most of the time they treat you like a number.On the other hand Bryan at Morgans Auto Repair and the rest of his employees treat you like your their only customer. Morgan’s Automotive is a great place to have your car serviced. I always have my oil changed here, as I believe in having a shop that knows my car and its history. Like any shop, they give recommendations of what my car needs, but it always feels proactive. I have never had a car break down on me, and I believe that is because Morgan gives really good advice on what service my car needs, to which I take seriously.

Morgan Auto Repair is top notch shop with excellent customer service going above and beyond making them the best mechanics in town! The owner Thomas Morgan is a gem, he is honest and very professional. He and his entire team are very thorough and do not try to sell you unnecessary parts for your vehicle. In fact, they even recommended to get parts from a different location for my truck and went with me to make sure they were the accurate parts needed for my truck for a better price which they found without me even asking. Not only did they do that, they stayed helping me after hours making sure I had a safe reliable truck to drive that I desperately needed at the time. Another time I went out of town for a two month long road trip and came back and put my key into my truck breaking it in half accidentally. The owner Thomas Morgan personally drove to my house to help me fix my key in my own driveway as I wasn’t able to drive my truck to their shop at the time due to my broken in half key. They are genuine people and have integrity which is very rare in the mechanic world. I recommend Morgan Auto Repair shop with the highest regard.

I really appreciate everything they did. My CEL started flashing on Friday night and I was looking for a shop that’s open on Saturday with good reviews. I called Morgan Auto and told him what was going on and he said to bring it right in! He read the codes and told me how much it would be to diagnose it and told me he would call me later today. I asked him questions about what he thought was going on and he seemed to know plenty and made me comfortable leaving my car there. And even offered to drive me home because I lived pretty close by. I was very impressed! It turned out to be a fairly simple fix and he kept me in the loop about what was going on and the costs. I really appreciate everything they did and I got my car back same day.

Brian and the team are some of the best automotive technicians around. What makes them the best? Integrity, honesty and the amount of time and effort they put into quality repairs and proper explanation. I’ve owned my own shop and been in the car industry for over 25yrs. Morgan Automotive got my car from dead to running in just a few days, after another shop had diagnosed the wrong problem and quoted me a greatly more expensive repair. Morgan addressed the actual problem, at 1/5 the cost of the other shop. They are courteous, expert, and fast. I highly recommend this business.

These folks are truly outstanding engineers and technicians. From work on my commercial van for my business all the way down to my beleauguered 90s compact, they do great work at really reasonable prices. They put safety of drivers and occupants first, and get things running great. And unlike some local shops, they dont turn their nose up at helping you with vehicles that have clicked over 100,000 or 200,000 or even 300,000 miles. If it matters to you, it matters to Morgan Automotive. They are also *right* at the SE Rhine Orange line Max stop, which makes pick up and drop off a total breeze.

Morgan Auto is an awesome shop, all-around. I lived nearby for 4 years, and took my 1998 Jeep Cherokee to them for all work. Brian always treated me fairly and courteously. I took it there to get a second opinion, and they told me up front the first shop I took the car to was not being honest, and in fact talked themselves OUT of work and money, instead of going along with what the first shop had said and simply taking my money.I respect and recommend them completely. Finding Morgan Automotive has been a godsend. They are kind, intelligent and willing to talk and help you understand and think through options in a way that other shops have not been. My car got smashed pretty badly while parked and, because it was close to their shop and they felt bad for me, they kindly ran by to take a look at my car and give me their opinion. They were honest and made sure I was aware they wouldnt know for sure what to do until they took a look at it. They fit me in almost immediately and were willing to talk regularly to help me understand what was going on and what they had discovered. They even helped me decide whether to abandon the car or find a way to get it back on the road. There was no pressure, just understanding and knowledge. They fixed it affordably for me and I have since taken in my other car and been served wonderfully. No pressure or mysterious charges. Great advice, honesty and excellent, high-quality work. Great experience, I drove up with a minor fix for my battery and without hesitation they were able to work me in to their schedule. The repair was quick, seamless and reasonably priced. Excellent long-term outlook on vehicle service!Morgan Autimotive has been my go-to service provider for my 1992 Ford Ranger for many years. My Ranger is old, but with very low mileage (120,000 miles in 26 years) and it has been a very reliable vehicle. I value my Ranger much more than what I could get for it if sold. The folks at Morgan Automotive understand this, and help me maintain it in great condition economically. Of course they discuss with me periodically whether I prefer to keep the vehicle, considering the cost of maintenance. But as long as I want to keep the vehicle, they continue to provide me options for my Ranger’s maintenance needs (and possible deferred maintenance if my budget is tight), and to offer excellent and knowledgeable service and advice.Thanks! to Thomas (owner), Bryan (manager), Steve, and the rest of the service team!

Wonderful mechanics..... I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 had a check engine light that kept coming on. Thomas diagnosed the problem and found that I had a manufacture defect. they were fast, efficient and accurate. Never will go anywhere else.

Absolutely professional & honest. Taking time to ask questions to understand the history of the issue and even took a test drive to verify the problem BEFORE fixing anything. They could have charged a lot more and replace things that I dont need. My car has ~280K and easy for a shop to say I need to replace this & that. Like previous comment (Michele B) that I was skeptical first about new shop but truly surprised by how honest they are.

These guys were fantastic. Brought our 2006 Chrysler Sebring in after it overheated repeatedly. They found a fault in the water pump, and notified us directly. Rather than push us to take on a stop-gap and financially burdensome repair, they encouraged us to pursue other options. That, to me, bespeaks a kind of honesty I usually dont find with mechanics. And an honest mechanic is truly worth his or her weight in gold.

I cant say enough good things about this place! I went in to have a pre-purchase inspection on a car that I was hoping to buy.. I mentioned to Bryan that I heard a funny noise on the way over and was curious what he thought about it before I spent the money to have the car fully inspected. He took the time to go check the car out beforehand and ended up finding some issues that saved me a lot of time and money. I called later on to set up an appointment for another car and he took the time to pull up the carfax for multiple cars I was looking at and give me his opinion (as I just moved to Portland yesterday, and am having a really difficult time finding a good car without knowing the area.) I work for a towing company (AAA) and was dropping off a customers car off here and I just started chatting with the owner of the company and just asked some questions about the issues Im having with my current vehicle and the issues Im having I left him with my information and went on about my day, I woke up today to find an email from the shop letting me know what could be the issues with my tahoe and they had not even seen it yet and with all the information I gave them he went above and beyond and even out of his way to remember my name and the problems I was having to take the time out of his day to get back to me is very impressive and professional if you ask me. They helped me more than any other shop has and I have asked several different shops around the Portland metro area and none of them have been as helpful as this place was. I will be looking forward to having my repairs done here. I cannot thank Thomas enough for taking the time again to take the time and inform me of what is wrong with my tahoe with out even seeing it and just going by the fault codes I gave him

Seemingly very upfront and quite friendly/informative on the phone and in person. I brought my Camry in, it needed work in order to run again (water pump and timing belt) but since my check engine light was on I also opted for a Cataltyic Converter replacement to get everything squared away at once. When I got it back, the check engine light came on again and I brought it back - thats when they informed me there are actually 2 catalytic converters in my car and it would be another $700 to replace the 2nd one... this is after dropping $1800 on a car that I was on the verge of abandoning and I told them that. Now it wont pass inspection. I was pretty bummed and felt misled because it would have been nice to have full disclosure when initially deciding to get the catalytic converter replaced....

Im always skeptical about taking my car to new shops and being ripped off but this place is great! Brian at the front desk is super helpful and friendly. The brake job ended up taking longer than expected (VWs like to be difficult) but I was still charged exactly what I was quoted over the phone. I didnt take advantage of it but appreciated the shuttle service they offer as well. They also didnt go looking for/making up problems that needed to be fixed...did what I asked and nothing more. Definitely recommend this place!!!

What we liked;-they were sensitive to issues our car had-we were given a ride to a cafe nearby to wait atWhat we disliked:-veerryy pushy about getting very expensive not critical work done.-beating around the bush, not fully answering me when asked exactly the work Im paying for-PAYED FOR OIL CHANGE+inspection, only received the inspection. This really disappointed us (were a 23 year old couple on a cross country) because we were depending on them to have us road trip ready and we felt a little taken advantage of especially having explained the importance of that oil change.Conclusion:If you have unlimited time and patience and money that you want to see in this guys pocket, consider Morgans

I had a problem with my ignition on my 97 Nissan Maxima, so I took it to Morgan Automotive and was beyond surprised at the service I received. They were very fast, friendly, and to the point. Explained what they planned on doing, and got right to it, without trying to up-sell me on anything more than what I needed. They found out late in the evening what was wrong, and before noon the next day, I got the call to come pick it up. Again, very friendly and fast, without any pushy sales tactics or extra problems that were found later. Great shop! I will come back here in the future if I have any more need for a mechanic.

I brought in a used car for a pre-purchase inspection. Brian inspected the car and told me what he found wrong with it and gave his honest opinion on the vehicle and where it was priced. He was very respectful, helpful, and knowledgable. He even printed out a KBB and NADA quote for me so I had something to use with negotiating the price. He also gave me a 10% discount of the price. My apologies for the negative review Im Ment it to master tech shop.....My car has only been there 24hrs they told me they would charge $125 for diagnosis. They call me back and said they need more time so they just told me $305 to continue just to tell me whats wrong with it 😡😡

Brought my truck here because ot was close to my house. I got an estimate to have my brakes fixed amd they told me it would be around $200. When I wemt to pick up my truck they had also fixed the rotors without telling me and charged me $750. I looked it up amd theres no way even with the rotors it should have been that much and they should have told me they were going to do this first. I tried to talk them down because I couldnt afford that and my vehicle itself is only worth $2500 but they wouldnt let me take my truck until I came up with the money. Scamers, big time.
