Hansen Mechanical is one of those great hidden gems that one kind of wants to keep to themselves. However, Graham is a great guy, and a very straight shooter. So they deserve all the business they can get. On top of that, some of the best prices in town, so I highly recommend giving his shop a try.They have done a ton of work to my beloved 93 Toyota 4x4 pickup, including an engine swap, and a beautiful lift. Amongst other things.I will go absolutely nowhere else for automotive work.

This place is amazing. The owner is very genuine and always goes above and beyond to make sure my car gets what it needs. This is the first auto mechanic I’ve been to that didn’t try to take advantage of the work. He ran diagnostics and figured out what the car would need and in how long. He worked with me to prioritize what needed to happen immediately and what could wait another couple months. I really appreciate it!

Graham is amazing! Very nice and professional. Dropped my car off for an oil change, and to get my deflating tire looked at. Few hours later it was ready for pick up!They sell CBD beverages in their shop as well!! I love Portland. If you’re looking for a local, neighborhood auto shop, look no further! Much rather spend my money here than at a jiffy lube.

Graham is awesome. My car had some issues and needed a lot of work done. I was able to make an appointment within a week of calling and have all of the work completed within two days. Given the amount of things that needed to be fixed, this was extremely fast. He provided good communication and fair prices for everything that was completed. He even offered to lend me a car for the second day so I could get to and from work. I cant imagine taking my car anywhere else in the future. Really pleased with the results and service!

Graham, the owner, is a genuinely good-guy. He cares about people, and goes out of his way to do right by them.I know, because he helped me out of a bind - as a complete stranger. My transmission failed catastrophically. The car wouldn’t move at all, and I had my insurance company tow it to Hansen Mechanical.Long story short, I ended up losing the keys the same day, and the car sat in his driveway for over 5 days. It was a huge inconvenience for his small shop, and even got in the way of his conducting business.I felt terrible calling Graham with daily updates, as I struggled to get the car moved/sold asap. However, Graham was incredible. He was patient, didn’t charge me any sort of lot fee, and understood the serious bind I was in – just generally a standup guy.I know this doesn’t speak to his automotive skills, but I think it speaks volumes to how he conducts himself and runs his business. That’s incredibly important to me as a customer.Update: I bought a new vehicle, and Graham will be getting 100% of the business. So, I should be able to speak to his automotive skills shortly.

Talented and Friendly service. Quickly diagnosed problem with brake caliper, educated me on what caused the issue. He ordered new parts and fully replaced everything necessary within 4 hours. Will always return here.
