It wasn’t cheap and it wasn’t quick, but they did good work. Honestly, I was just glad to finally find a shop willing to work on my old motorcycle heads. I had to source my own spare parts too, not really a big deal and I expected that from the beginning. My Guzzi heads look like new!

Used Brian to rebuild my 1998 Dodge Viper engine for a lot of money. He talked a great talk but the engine spun a rod bearing at the track after a very careful break-in and only a few thousand miles. We pulled the engine apart and found the rod bearing clearance to be 0.001 above the maximum allowable. When I brought this up with Brian he asked me what oil filter I was using (?). It was obvious he had no intention of standing behind his work. I would not recommend Bearing Services for any engine work. They have had a great reputation in the past but sure didnt come through on my engine.

Was referred to them for a stuck bolt in a powerhead. Everyone else told me it probably wasnt doable. Brian down here at BSC took one look at it and said the threaded portion probably didnt extend that far, just give it some force and it will slide out. Well his mechanical intuiton was right and sure enough I got it home and presto his method worked and it came right apart. Thank you so much for all your help, I would trust this man with a 5 dollar weedeater or a 5 million dollar race boat!

This used to be the best shop in Portland. I have been taking stuff to them every few years since 1969. They saved cylinder heads and transmission cases for me that I thought were toast. I heard that Gene retired and the shop was not being run well but being a loyal customer I took a small rod resizing job into them. Less than an hour shop time no doubt. I was told two weeks which surprised me but what the heck, he said they would call. After 3 weeks, I called and was told that it wasnt done. I said I would come in and pick them up undone. He said they had started on them. I drove in and demanded my rods, They hadnt even been touched. So, expect a lengthy wait and to be lied to. Central Cylinder Head is a better shop, good work, accurate, fast and reasonable.

Mixed feelings on this shop. Brian is very knowledgeable but in my opinion its useless info because of the way its presented. I couldnt even explain anything about my situation because he wouldnt let me talk. On top the communication challenge I got my heads back with 4 bent valves and when I called about those I basically got the middle finger. I will be fair and note that this place was referred to me by a long time customer who has been nothing but pleased with the service. Perhaps you have to earn respect before you get any good treatment?

Great old school machine shop. Rebuilt a very complicated Aston Martin engine for me a few years ago. The guy that bought it from me raced it in vintage races to good success. These guys know what they are doing, not cheap for a project like this, but worth it in the long run. Glenn S.

Walked in with a stroller to talk about a potential wheel bearing replacement for my stroller. Guy looked at me and said hi, then he looked back at his computer for a couple minutes until he realizes Im still waiting. Once I told him what I wanted he didnt even bother to look or check it out but told me to go to a bike shop nearby. I felt quicky dismissed.

Brian was more interested in buying my car and putting down the parts I wanted him to work on than actually working on my engine. Ill NEVER go back! Watch out
