Bought a washer and dryer set. Whirlpool for $551, they came an installed them and hauled the old set off. Great customer service and amazingly honest. I some how miscounted the cash I payed with and gave him an extra $100, the next day he called and asked if we were missing $100 because he some how was over $100. I feel like it’s not often that things kinda of shops would take the time to make sure that their customers are not being cheated...and of course the washer and dryer work amazingly!

Luis came out to fix our washer. It was initially just going to be a service charge of $75 (which I was told about up front when I made the initial appointment), but Luis discovered the agitator was broken in addition to the original issue. He informed me that fixing that would take the total up to $200 for parts and labor. Luis gave me the choice to have him fix it or leave it. I asked him to fix it, and he did so quickly. The washer is running much better now. Also, he was about 10 minuted early! I have never had a repair person be so prompt. Luis was very careful not to track dirt inside, and wore a mask while working due to COVID-19 (this review was written in July 2020). The entire company was very courteous and overall a joy to work with.

Worst company ever. Bought a washer and it shook so bad during the spin cycle. Luis came by and said it was the floor causing the problem. I lived here for over 20 years and the washers I’ve had before never shook the floor. They said I can come by and replace it and pay an additional $75 for pickup and delivery. Luis does not know how to fix or evaluate any appliance. Go buy new, less headaches. The better business bureau needs to know about this company.

Bought a used washer and dryer here for $500 after moving across country. Delivery was about a week later, installation was quick and professional. However, both went bad after 8 months, and the warranty is only for 6 months. When asked for a price to come repair them, was quoted $200 for each, which is almost what I paid for them. I get that they refurbish used machines and resell them, but their prices are high for the level of equipment and support you get for them.

They seemed nice when I came in and even offered me a deal on a washer and delivered same day. It seemed like a great transaction, but within a couple days the washer started stopping mid cycle. I didnt think much of it, I just opened and closed the lid and then it would go again. I recommended them to my neighbors who were also looking for a washer. Their problems started at delivery when they attempted to deliver the wrong washer, which was 100% sketchy. Once their correct washer was delivered it didnt work. And at this point, it was taking more effort for me to start my own washer. I had to kind hit the washer now to get it to spin mid cycle. My neighbor had the get theirs repaired before ever using it. And now my washer doesnt even work anymore, but Im not letting these scam artist come back to my house ever again even if it is under warranty.

We were in desperate need of a replacement freezer at Fort Kennedy for the upcoming holiday season. We provide a variety of services for homeless veterans. Robin was so amazing and pleaded our case to the owner of store and we had a new, to us, freezer within an hour. The store is beautiful and very well maintained. We cant thank them enough. We will be able to continue the mission of HAVEN, helping all veterans experience normalcy.

The dryer we share in our duplex gave out and after connecting with our landlord he let me know that Community Appliances would be delivering another dryer between 9 and 11 am today, 7-11. He also said hed worked with this company before and highly recommends them.A bit after 9 am the truck arrived with one of the most amazing technician in charge. We had a great time switching out the old dryer for the new. I took for a test drive washing a typical load of clothing. The dryer beat the old one by 94 minutes and the clothing came out in much better condition.Thank you for your service. It is difficult to have someone unknown come into our personal space so having a truly delightful human arrive for the job was a treat.

I own three rental units in downtown Portland and have purchased several appliances from Community Appliance for the rentals and for my own home (stackable washer/dryer, washer, refrigerator, and multiple dishwashers). All appliances continue to work great even years after Ive purchased them. They offer free local delivery and take away your old/broken appliance. When I need a repair on my existing appliances, Ive called Robin and Luis and received prompt service at an affordable rate. I would highly recommend them and their appliances!

We purchased a refrigerator from this company at the beginning of January. It was delivered and installed by Luis, the owner. Within two months of installation the fridge started having defrost issues which caused the fridge compartment to hit 70+ degrees, ruining all our food and our disabled daughters medical supplies.Being a HVAC/R repair technician it was easy to identify what the issue was, but the unit was under warranty so we called Community appliances out to fix the issue. They initially told us they couldnt get a tech our for at least 2 weeks and that we should just store our food in the neighbors fridge. From the moment Luis walked through the door it seemed like he was trying to find a reason not to honor the warranty. First he tried to tell us it froze up because it was too close to the wall… Which, if he knew anything about the refrigeration cycle he would know that a blocked condenser would not cause the evaporator coil to freeze. Then he tried to tell us it was a door seal issue, which somehow started presenting 2 months after installation. He adjusted the door and left.A few weeks later it froze up again. Once again Luis came out and tried to say it was our fault. I had given my partner a list of the symptoms that proved it was a defrost control board issue, which he ignored and tried to tell us, again, it was our fault it was freezing up and that it was not a defrost issue but how we loaded it. He again adjusted the door and left.Luis probably didnt realize that beings I work in the Refrigeration field, I have thermal imaging and other advanced diagnostic tools. There was never any leak in the door seal and if he ad read the tech manual for the control board he would have known how to do the diagnostics to identify the issue. The next week it froze again, we defrosted it manually this time. The following week it froze again. This time a friend had given us a fridge so swapped units and reached out to community appliances. Robyn, the office lady, told us there was no way they were going to replace the part that was defective because “it was too expensive” She also told us they would not give us a refund for the fridge and they werent willing to come pick it up.It wasnt until we threatened to take the issue to small claims court that they at least gave us some of the money back. They also tried to say that us doing non-invasive diagnostics voided the warranty but there is nothing in the warranty that states non-invasive diagnostics arent allowed.Luis took no responsibility for the mistakes made by him during the installation and in my opinion, does not appear to know what he is doing. Stay away from this company, you are better off getting a used fridge from craigslist.

I can’t say enough about how traumatizing it was to work with this company. A foundation through Doernbecher Childrens Hospital payed for my daughter to get a refrigerator to store her medically necessary medical supplies along with our families groceries. I had read several 5 star reviews on Google and felt is was worth a try. Scheduling the installation of the fridge was a breeze and I even wrote a thank you letter to the company for the good experience. But soon when the fridge died after just 2 months it became very difficult for the company to return my calls/emails in trying to reach them. We lost over $400 in groceries and medical supplies while trying to work with their scheduling and there faulty repair attempts. The owner, Louis was so shovenistic that he talked over me and would only listen to what I said once I called my husband over the phone and had my husband repeat verbatim, what I had previously said. Even then Louis chose not to fix the fridge because his company claimed the part that was needed was too expensive. And they left the appliance, despite my request for them to remove it, once it died within the warranty period. For families who are medically vulnerable, and for those who are of a vulnerable population like who have disabilities, and those who are too poor to take time off of work for small claims court, it is essential that a company who has contracted to provide an appliance that fulfills a primary human need, the need for non spoiled food would have the highest ethical standard. On the contrary, my worst nightmare occurred as my daughters very expensive medical supplies had to be thrown out 4 times, along with our families groceries 4 times over the course of 4 months. It was so financially catastrophic that we can’t even afford to purchase a new fridge. The scheduler, Robin told me that I should be happy and grateful that they would be willing to come out and take a look at the broken fridge because they make other families with disabilities wait 2 weeks or longer without refrigeration when a part fails thats contractually under warranty. When I said my daughter could die without proper refrigeration for her medical supplies she said to ask a stranger to buy me a cooler and some ice. I know that with how defensive and unkind this company has been towards us, that they will undoubtedly respond to this review and make a long defensive list, trying to make me look wrong for wanting them to adhere to their warranty. My suggestion to you is to read the 1 star reviews on Yelp. There are several others just like mine showing examples of how this company preys on the elderly and those who are disabled. The fact that they have several 5 star reviews here on Google is an anomaly. The bottom line is buyer be ware.

This is a complaint against Robin who works here she is rude unprofessional does not know how to talk to the customer, all because I spent 420 dollars on a fridge that doesn’t work that they sold me I asked to talk to the person in charge she told me she doesn’t have to do anything she doesn’t want and that she would have the owner call me, I guess robin must make the rules because the customer is not right at this place worst experience of my life
