It was ok. I got a lot of stuff because I had a coupon! But, I had a few cans of peanuts and they would not scan. The person on the register looked it up and found the correct price, but still had to have a manager come. She said if they wont scan they cant sell them! Me, I dont understand why they were on the shelf ..for sale and I cant buy them!! She made me feel more like I did something wrong! It was her attitude and the way she said we cant sell them I asked but why? She said, they may have a recall, and walked away! Not, Im sorry or I can see if we have something else!!I spent a lot of my time shopping and picking stuff out! The way she handled it just hit me wrong, like nope you cant have them!!

Air conditioner was not working, it was hot, hope they get it fixed soon. Also too many items without prices. New clothing was nice but they had no size marked on them, l would have bought several tops if I knew what size they were.

Great store, you can find everything you need! Great products, great service and very tidy in the store.

Went in to purchase a matress and boxspring, on the website says same day delivery. Boy was that a joke. Only way to get delivery is if you buy online and was informed it wasnt going to be same day delivery. Needless to say, these items were put on my roof of my car.

It was dust all over whilst the floors where blanketed with dirt, horrible sight. The half stocked shelves where kind of an eyesore and the store reminded me of a secondhand one.

Excellent! Ran in by chance after my daughters suggestion, to try and find a silver tinsel tree. Hooray!!!! They had one set up on display, and one in a box under the display table! The best part was it was marked down $40.00. I was excited. After a long trying day, and not feeling the best, it was wonderful to purchase just what I wanted! I also got some ornaments to go on it. The store was very neat and will stocked. The associates were very nice. They helped me with the tree, and even packed it in my car. I definitely plan on going back.

Its been a while since Ive been here. Decided to just stop and see what was new this weekend. Man do they have the spring stuff. Menards not even close to them. Its better quality stuff too. Big lots has grown up people.

One of the first major problems with this location is the building appears to be fAlling apart . I asked one of the employees that looked like he was near death why it was so hot in there . He replied we have not had air conditioning in months . People choose to work retail because of the environment, If they choose to work in the heat at an outdoor job they would make much more money . Get those kids some air conditioning

Was at the Michgan City store Looking for a 5 piece table set they had. They checked with the Portage store had it in stock they called to put it on hold drove drove from Michigan City to Portage just to find out they turned around and sold it before I got here. Very badd customer service. And the manager didnt seem to care.

Love this store has dog a wide variety of dog outfits ( Ellen DeGeneres brand ) the fit of outfits are on point and the 🐕 toys are not pricy.. Plus other odds and ends that are there ..

Always at least interesting in big Lots...BUT HAVE y ever noticed the carts ARE ENORMOUS and yet each aisle only fits ONE CART WIDE. we all wait at the end of an aisle for a person and their rowboat cart to exit the aisle so we can play thru....pretty annoying.....esp. During SOCIAL distancing.....

Always something different at Big Lots with decent prices!

Big Lots is a lot of fun to shop in because theres always new things & it is a discount store.So you will find cheaper prices but when youre buying food always look for the expiration date.One of the things I dont like is the reward system you could spend a lot of money there and you get rewards points but its really just kind of for nothing because if youre signed up with your email youll receive coupons at least thats what they tell me but I have yet to receive any I hope youll have better luck than I did but its a fun place to stop I have a little bit of everything

We were in about 3 days ago and did not have item we wanted Asked if we could buy display. Told no they sell closer to Christmas. Went back 1/29 and 3/4 of the displays were sold. MMMMMMM how does that work!!!!!!!!

We enjoy shopping at Big Lots. Prices are low and have good quality merchandise. My wife found gift sets at half price of what other stores were selling them for, what a savings! Especially at Christmas time. We also like the payment plans Big Lots offers for furniture and bedroom sets. Keep up the great work Big Lots!

Found some great items, store seems a Little cramped for space.

Went to get the coke items they advertise on Facebook. They havent received them yet. Being a coca cola collector was disappointed....

Cluttered and not very clean. Staff wasnt rude, but not helpful either. They did have a nice selection of reasonably priced furniture. That was the best part.

I wish I could give this place more stars for the way they took care of my family not to get into to many details but I had an medical emergency in the store and the employees were the most courteous to make sure my kids were occupied and did not witness anything they should also want to put a special shout out too Colleen for being by my side the whole time you will always be appreciated by myself and my family.

Big lots has really come a long way.... their selection of items in the store has increased dramatically. The Portage store is huge and has a ton of items, our quick trip turned into an hour visit by the time we were done looking around.

Went in looking for a recliner on the referral of my sister. We were happy to have quickly found one we loved. The salesman was helpful and surprisingly knowledgeable about what they had and offered us a 3 year warranty for all parts, frame, fabric, and stitching and even stains apparently for only $44.

They always seem to be in such disarray lately and not much in stock.

They stood by their commitment on customer service today. I had purchased a set of earbuds on 9/8/2019, got them home and waited til the next day to open em and charge em up. To my surprise the product was missing from the package as it had been shoplifted before my purchase! I did not think to look inside the box. I returned to the store with the empty box and my receipt that very instant and stated my case and surprise in finding no product in the package this morning. The manager was very professional about the entire deal, made a report and gave me a new product with all its contents. So thank you Big Lots. This is just another reason why I love the store and will continue to shop there.

They got rid of the baby section so I can no longer get my son his favorite snacks on the cheap :-( But the store is clean and bright and the staff is friendly and helpful. The store also boasts a large furniture section. We bought a chair there and absolutely love it!

We call it Odd Lots but it is the greatest place. You never know what your gonna find at Big Lots but its going to be a quality product at a good price. Love it.

Old run down. Ive never been in a Big Lots that looks this bad! Staff is very friendly. The inside needs to reflect the service. Needs major upgrades!

I had a hard time deciding to give 2 or 3 stars. Staff is super friendly and I love them! BUT Big Lots prices are INSANE!You use to be able to go there for deals but now they are more expensive!A 10x10 canopy there was around $80, So I went to Wal-Mart and got the same one for $40.

I called big lots also came into big lots, Theresa the store associate wasn’t big help at all, very rude, couldn’t give me an answer but I’m not sure I’ll have to ask manager okay that’s fine no big deal- but once I called she acted like she was the manager and didn’t want to help me at all. Just kind of funny when I went there she was a sales associate and once I called the next day to speak to the manager she gets on the phone and acts like she was the manager when she wasn’t. I won’t be bringing my business there anymore, I have spent well over 3000$ in the last year, and won’t be back again.

They had a lot of Christmas decor on sale and clearance. Wrapping and gift bags were a great price. I be was able to get a lot of Christmas stuff for great prices.

Cheap retail goods in a suburban strip mall. The ambiance is elegant and the service top shelf. Cannot beat it with a poodle on a stick. Stick sold separately.

Reasonable prices on groceries, but their electronics are worth what you pay for them. Lots of Christmas decorations, but poor quality. Never bought their furniture, but it looks nice; however, my guess is the quality is as poor as the rest of the products.

This Big Lots is always clean and well organized. They have some unusual items that you dont find anywhere else. The cashiers could be a little more pleasant. There is one guy who is always nice and makes the customer feel welcome but the other ones need a little pick me up.

I’ve shopped at this store for over 12 yrs now and have yet to find one thing wrong about it. The staff is always friendly, I always find a great sale, and the shelves are always neatly stocked! Great job portage IN☺️

It has cool and my car has been in the air since it was installed and the food was still employed by my friends in the big lots store manager for the best part in the city of the city of the new Yorker and then the big glots were being sold out there.

They have Dads Root Beer, and so much more! Will definitely be returning for the canvas prints in the back!

I visit often and do not recommend getting food products from there. I saw items that had maggots in it. I dont think the shelves get rotated often with new products. Very gross!

Some prices are good...some are meh...good place to get cheap foods and cleaners...they usually have cute seasonal decor... Ive always liked Big Lots...four stars instead of five because the bathroom could be cleaner and the store seems a bit disorganized in spots.
