I really like this liquor pantry. Very well organized and has some spirit scotches that are either hard to find or hard to get due to limitations. I drove all the way from Totowa nj to get the last bottle of the Macallan Harmony Collection. This establishment is well worth a trip if you are a whiskey enthusiast. I would also like to point out that this establishment has a very homie feel to it and actually has staff there that know what theyre talking about as opposed to the staff at like bottle King that dont know anything and only carries your basic spirits.

The girl named Jackie at the register was a drooling mess, saw her hit the bottle right before and right after each customer, and management is beyond the point of salvation.High prices, garbage service

I came here not really understanding what I needed as I do not drink. I wanted to buy something nice for my grandson Jackson as a birthday present as it is his 21st birthday soon. A nice young man named Tony took 20 minutes out of his time to answer all my questions (Im sure they were probably annoying!) and helped me buy a nice bottle of whiskey for my grandson. Its great to see young people these days with a strong work ethic, it is exceedingly rare in my opinion! Thank you Tony and thank you Varmax!

They have a humongous store that has everything you could think of. The ambiance is condusive to staying and browsing around.I was able to find my Japanese whisky here at an affordable price. Yamazaki 12 years $130, Hakushu 12 years at $125 and Hibiki 18 years at $ $350.I also was able to find all the rare brands of high end sipping tequila like Clase Azul, Reserva de la Familia, Don Julio 1942 and Teqila Fortaleza.Also do not forget to ask them for a 10% discount. If ever you reach over $100 they will gladly give it even if you do not have their coupon.

We went looking for a local bourbon and they were sold out. We did find another to try.The store was well-stocked with liquor and beer. I was surprised to find that some of the wine prices were reasonable, only a few dollars more than back home in Virginia.Good selection of wine and spirits.

I inadvertently entered a low rating for Varmax. I dont know how it happened, because they are great. They have a fabulous selection of French wines, even a deep selection from the Alsace. Whenever I am in need or just in the neighborhood, I stop by to see what delights I can find.

Enjoyed my first visit on Saturday of a three-day weekend. Nice selection, larger than most other overly-crowded local shops.I liked the local bourbon offerings. Wine selection was wide, perfectly fine (but also nothing particularly special). Line at checkout, but it moved quickly. Decent parking, not as crazy as most of the Greenwich options. Limited selection of mixers, so plan to hit the supermarket too.

Varmax is simply the best place for wine in the Greenwich and Port Chester area. The wine selection is amazing, and every bottle is presented very well, with explanations, wine spectator ratings, and there is always around a guy from the staff qualified enough to give suggestion based on customers tastes. Great selection of wine and liquor, including international drinks that might be common enough but are not carried at every liquor store. They have an actual selection of sake, not just two or three options. Really extensive wine selection from around the world... I have bought cachaça and pisco here multiple times before, they used to carry it regularly and have some selection, but I dont know if that represents their normal inventory (I mention this because the last time I was there, they had exactly one brand of Peruvian pisco and nothing from Chile, which I always look for to make sure when I run out that I know where to restock from). In any case, I appreciate knowing that I can usually find some more obscure stuff here when I want it.
