Menards outshines Home Depot by miles. Menards had better prices, better discounts and better customer service. Rarely do I have to go very far and I find someone to assist me or they get me the person that can. Menards Customer Service on returns is outstanding havent had a problem.

They don’t honor online orders. I made an order, I drove in, walked all the way back (online orders are as far back in the store as possible), they tell me it’s back ordered. That’s great and all but this is something your system either shouldn’t allow, or you should notify your customers early. The guy who looked it up was unphased and short with me. Replay of conversation: “sorry sir it seems this is bordered”. “Yeah I saw. You had 2 extra left though that I was able to snag and put in my cart.” “Yeah it looks backordered”. This is on top of me avoiding this store because of it’s earlier draconian policy around wearing masks. I had vowed to not come here. The one time I come back and this is what I encounter. Not again Menards! You won’t get me again.

Like many other reviews, I spent around an hour shopping in the store without a mask and then told at the register that I had to have one to make my purchase. They are willing to sell you one at the register so you can put it on and make your purchase. Why am I allowed to purchase a mask without wearing one but not not allowed to purchase anything else without one? Its outrageous and communistic. Everyone should go to Home Depot. They may be smaller, but the service is better, employees ask if you need assistance and the masks are FREE when you walk in the door and they dont REQUIRE you to wear one.

I went there specifically for Marine carpet for the wood on my pontoon boat trailer they had it, price was okay, but nobody else in poplar bluff had it. I received prompt service from their employees, I was happy, so I bought a couple other things while I was there.

Menards has the best deals on things youd never expect. Like laundry soap, dog food, cleaning supplies, and batteries. To name a few. Great customer service and great deals. What more could you ask for?

Menards mask policy is severely lacking in common sense! They allow customers to shop in their store without a mask, but when it comes time to check out you must don your mask. They should post signs stating their policy. My husband and I were ready to check out and they demanded we put a mask on or they could not check us out. I left about $500 in the basket and walked out. We spend a lot of money there trying to finish our house, not any more!! There are other stores that will appreciate our business. Goodbye Menards!!!

I love the selection and prices at Menards. However I do not like being forced to wear a mask to be able to pay for my items. I have been vaccinated. And I believe anyone concerned about covid can wear a mask. But the ones of us that are not. Should not have our freedoms and choices over ridden because of political correctness and fear on the part of corporate America.

Brought a bank certified cashiers check to purchase a building, was told by the service desk person that cashiers checks arent accepted....well, low and behold, he ran it through the machine and wow, it went through without a hitch.....I have spent in excess of 75,000 at menards, perhaps they should hire people that know what they are doing and the store policies...DUH.....two thumbs down on this one. John Menard needs to do better recruiting.

I was really loving this store until they went all C.C.P. during covid. I am a person with lung trouble (copd) and they threw the ADA right out the window. Ive been doing a lot more business with Home Depot. At least they dont treat Americans like theyre in China.

Thanks for refusing to check me out because I didn’t have a mask. LolFound a better price at Home Depot. Slightly longer drive but they will get my business from now on. FYI, Home Depot also requires mask but hands them out for free.

I cant give 5 stats because employees on the floor arent very helpful. They avoid making eye contact. The 4 stars I did give are for amazing prices and selection.

Casey in the paint section was awesome. She helped us pick our colors to match our ceramic tile. In the ceramic tile area there was a woman that was awesome her name starts with a C but I cant remember it but she helped us a great deal. Ken in the siding area was awesome as well he even got a chair for me to sit in while we figured out what we needed. So my overall visit for today was you got it AWESOME!!! Thanks to all Menards employees.

Only place in town to have electric heaters. Helpful customer service not only over the phone but in person. Just a great all around experience. I will be returning.

We shopped through the entire store with no mask. Once we went to check out, we were told that they could not check us out without a mask( they could sale us one for .43). Why would the person at the entrance not tell people they Must have a mask to check out? I thought I lived in a FREE country it should be my choice if I wear a mask or not. Considering I have been diagnosed with Asthma and Anxiety it is not in my best interest to wear a mask. Just another way to control people. I will not return to your store, sorry to say we spend a lot of money in your store.

I have a respiratory disease that prevents me from being able to wear a mask there is no mask mandate in my state or county or town they let me walk around in their store for almost an hour passing several employees no one said a word when I get to the register they refuse to even ring up my purchases because I dont have a mask on the cashier just said its her job if she rings me up what they dont understand is it could be my life if I wear a mask I think my life is more important than their job

Couldnt get a handicapped electric cart. Apparently only have 2 and they were on useTried to use a wheelchair but to painful to get around to do my shopping in.

I purchased a 4+8 piece of paneling that was marked down because of damaged. I was curious why my bill was so high for the couple things I bought . I noticed that I was charged full price for the paneling. I tried calling several times no answer I went back to get my refund so I had a employee check the merchandise and then they told me to bring it in so it was all just a big waste of time trying to shop wisely

My specific reason to visit the Poplar Bluff store was to purchase flowers from the garden center. I will tell you the selection was small and the flowers nearly dead from lack of attention. Dont advertise a garden center if you really dont have one.

Their return policy changes from manager to cooperate. I had to contact home office to get a return with a receipt taken care of correctly. I could only contact them by email.

Forcing employees to wear masks again.

I traveled up to poplar bluff to get a 2x6 of treated lumber 3-4 in length. I get there and there is a display of treated lumber saying all the sizes you can get and what the prices were. A huge sign saying TAKE IT HOME TODAY!!!. So I got back and ask the clerk in the lumber section to for a 3 treated 2x6. He replies, OH, we dont have any right now. Id have to cut a 4 board. Ok... So I want a 4 board please. His response after briefly glancing at his screen, Oh, Im out of 4 boards. You can purchase an 8 board and cut it.. Well.... I guess we will go somewhere else then. Thanks for absolutely nothing. 7:30pm on 10/30. Dont advertise I can buy that then tell me I cant.

Prices are on the rise. Before they blew Lowes and Home Depot out of the water, now they are comparable. Sometimes Lowes and Home Depot are even cheaper. Just do your homework before buying.

Great store! I love paint department, great quality paint! Buying lumber there is a big negative for me. Especially after buying lumber then driving through their outside pickup area that took 25mins only to find out that what I just paid for wasnt in stock. So had to drive back to front and go inside Mernards all again to get a refund. Ill stick with home depot for lumber!

I was just in poplar bluff menards with several other people with out masks but my family was approached and asked to put mine on and where as I have no problem wearing one but when there is numinous ones without and further more if u want customers and further more your poor employees to wear full time then turn down the air so we are not only having trouble breathing in a mask u are sweating beyond measures.

Ive never been to Menards, until today. This place has just about anything youd want. Guns and ammo, clothing, hardware, tools, garden department, lighting... its like bass pro shop, orchard and home depo all became one! Love it!

My daughter and I drove and hour to buy an item that cant be shipped. When we arrived they would not let us enter because they have now adopted a policy of no children under 16... but there is nothing on the website telling you this. You cant leave A toddler alone in a vehicle.... Very unprofessional. Not everyone has childcare options. I never expected this.

Just looked around for an hour trying to find help in 2 different departments and could not find anyone. Overheard a family having the same issues. I remember when you couldnt walk anywhere in there without anyone asking of you needed help with anything. Im so disappointed because this used to be my favorite store!
