I just had reconstructive surgery on my left foot and my doctor recommended a Hi tec high top hiking boot for my extensive rehab. He indicated that I could find the boot at Big 5. I checked the website and found the boots my doctor recommended. They needed to have space for an added insole. We found the nearest store in Pleasant Hill and, to my delight, the boot was in stock and ON SALE. I was able to stuff my bandaged foot into the boot. They are very comfortable and since I will have to wear them daily for a while, they will go nicely with my work attire. Thank you Big 5, for being there, and your fast and easy service too.

I can usually find something to fit my boot or work shoe needs here. Their sizes are limited, but prices are fair. Friendly good service.

OK, l know this is a sporting goods store. For me, this is my shoe store. They offer high end brands at crazy low prices and their house branded shoes are good looking and truly wear well unlike any other house or generic shoe brand I have experienced. Go look for yourself, you wont be disappointed.

On my recent visit, the store manager was working the floor and helped me find some gloves. They did the job without costing 80 dollars!

It’s always funny to contact a store to check availability and they respond in a short unprofessional way. Well now it doesn’t matter if they get the product I wanted. Not sure if the clerk was judging the product I was asking about which would be sad as it’s a sporting good store or if she is just totally unprofessional. Big 5 is great but the pleasant hill employees need a upgrade (at least the one answering the phone). If you don’t want to be where you work, quit but don’t take down a long term company with your attitude.

Big 5 is a smaller sporting good store but it has tons of great deals and generally cheap prices. After not finding what we were looking for in Walnut Creek we decided to check out the bigger Pleasant Hill location. They had good customer service and we were pleased by the experience, definitely recommended it!

Really really tacky, rude, and distasteful (supervisor I believe) the women was making me so uncomfortable shopping here following me around saying that she wanted to make sure everything stayed in its place so that they could close on time need I remind you closing wasnt for another 2 hours, so I decided to purchase the items I already had and come back on a day she wasnt working because quite frankly what good is it to have an employee next to that dreads helping you but considering the store is really close to me it would be inconvenient to travel, it is just unfortunate when the next time I visit shes there again this time giving me a hard time about exchanging something SHE had sold me literally days prior and I had my RECEIPT. She stays then I go.

I go here if I need something cheap and/or quickly (right down the street). It’s never crowded. The prices aren’t bad, but they don’t have a huge selection. You can find items for most sports, including shooting sports. Their shoes usually have some pretty good deals.

The cashier is helpful and offered me a 10% discount.

Poor selection of shoes for people with foot problems

I know this is a chain store but, it seems like a big Mom and Pop because of the nice demeanor of the staff. The cashier greets you as you enter and if any staff walk by you, they offer to help find things. I pop in a few times a year and always seem to score on a particular brand of shoe for my big boys. Ive gone searching for little things, (replacement items from camping gear), and usually find a must have item I didnt know I needed. I hit this store first when looking for any gear for kids winter activities and summer time, too.

Revceived good help with trying on shoes. Their selection includes offerings in wide widths, and the clerk was courteous and engaged in finding a shoe that fit well.

I can usually find a good bargain when I shop there. My last 3 purchases were waterproof low cut and high cut boots along with a pair of waliking poles. The poles alone at any other store would be $75. Thats what I spent for everything.

We went to this Big 5 store looking for snow gear... They have a good selection of boots, pants, jackets, gloves and even thermals/ long johns! Plus most was on sale.. I was able to get everything I needed in one stop which was great!Cashier was so nice and helpful... And pretty funny too. (1/26 @2000)So far I have had all positive experiences at this Big 5. I always seem to need help with atleast one thing I am looking for so I really appreciate how friendly and knowledgable the employees are.

I went there in Search of football gloves but they didnt have a large selection so my thoughts went straight to cleats but they only had one style in low rise but didnt have the right size. So I went to the guns and ammo section and checked those out, the lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable and unfortunately I was only window shopping because I was on a mission to get gloves and cleats.

Seems like the people working at the store are getting younger and younger and not too interested in social manners!- Just a sign of the times.

Typical experience if I needed help had to go track someone down. Employees all standing together complaining about how horrible their lives were did not make me super comfortable especially doing it right in front of me while ringing me up and really not acknowledging me. Got some nice things for good prices. Strange employee experience.
