This shop was recommended to me by Derek at AAMCO of Walnut Creek.I Towed the truck in for no start due to running out of diesel fuel. Dave quoted a fair price and got the engine running quickly. Then I requested that he check and repair the dashboard fuel gauges which were inoperative. This involved removing both front and rear tanks and replacing parts inside. Then the dashboard cluster had to be sublet for the gauge to be repaired. All was put back together on time and as promised and the price was as guestimated at the start of the job. I would recommend this shop and will take my vehicles there in the future.
Timmons is a great shop. Honest service and a good value.
The only shop that I bring my 2006 sprinter. They are incredibly honest and helpful. They have gone far beyond what a normal auto repair service would do to diagnose a problems on my vehicle and made it incredibly affordable. I can not thank you enough for everything you guys have done for me and I will forever bring my vehicles to you:)
TL:DR Stay away if you dont know much about cars or the approximate, fair price of auto repair.I want to preface this review by saying that my stepfather has been a patron of this auto shop for a long time and has had mostly good experiences. That said, my experience went differently. For reference: 2007 Mercedes C230 (well maintained with ~116,000 miles)I brought my car to the shop because I had a check engine light and a check oil level light on (which I assumed meant that I had waited too long to get an oil change and that I was leaking or burning oil). When I called to check in on the status of the car I was given a breakdown of the malfunctioning systems and the cost of the work.Rodney quoted me the following:~$830:$154 x2 (each diagnostic test)$330 for cam shaft sensor replacements (2)$190 for an oil change (full synthetic)I was pretty shocked at the overall cost of the analysis and repairs considering there was no sign of serious issue.I called Jiffy Lube immediately, just to compare prices and they quoted me ~$110 for an oil change. Thats an $80 increase from a local competitor.I asked my stepfather to call the shop and ask for a similar breakdown. After finding out that I was related to a longtime patron of theirs, (with many referrals and many serviced cars), Rodney informed me that he had spoken to the manager and they would void all of my costs. Considering my experience with this shop, that didnt sound coincidental. When my stepfather spoke to Rodney, they gave him the same breakdown of costs but also added in that my front brakes were very low and needed to be replaced. This was surprising considering I had replaced my rear brakes earlier that year. I found this unacceptable that Rodney gave additional information, seemingly important, to my stepfather but neglected to give me, the car owner the same information.Long story short, I took my car to a different shop and they gave me a similar diagnosis and fix list with much different prices.I only needed 1 cam shaft sensor replaced (not 2, as the invoice had stated), my rear brakes were at 6mm (not 2mm, as they stated), and the oil change was done for ~$110.Total paid: $300Lastly, I asked my mechanic to check over everything - just to be sure. They found that my front brakes (installed by Timmons around March 2020), were not pinned in fully - which can be dangerous. My mechanic corrected Timmons error in my rear brakes and for free.Today, Rodney gave me a call to find out if I wanted to move forward with the repairs not knowing that I had already repaired my car. I asked him to reiterate the information about my front brakes again, and he verbally confirmed that they were low. In short, he lied.
I have been working with Timmons for a little over 2 years now. They are a family business, employing multiple generations. Not only do they work together but play together as well. Their passion for their work extends to their race team. Which is out charging multiple weekends a month. The knowledge and talent which makes them successful on the track extends back to everything they do in the shop.I have three Fords. A 2014, 2003, and 1979 Ford F-250 4x4 custom truck. Timmons has ensured the reliability of all three vehicles. Their knowledge runs deep. They have no problem tackling problems associated with vintage vehicles. The owners decades of experience makes working on carbs and tuned exhausts as easy as modern low mileage commuter vehicles.I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the great staff at Timmons. Their professionalism and personal touch are always appreciated.I always leave on long cross country camping trips with confidence, knowing these guys have done their best to maintain my vehicles.Their shop is special in that they easily accommodated large RVs and specialize in recreational and commercial vehicles. It is always fun to go down to the shop and see what is in the parking lot.
Dave Timon’s Auto was recommended to me by another shop which couldn’t do the work I needed. The estimated cost was less then others had quoted me and at the end there were no other unexpected charges added. The work was done in one day and I am very happy with the results (had a cracked exhaust header and they installed the aftermarket replacement I had purchased).I highly recommend Timmons Auto for anyone looking for a good price and great work.
As the head Foreman of Chandlers complete tree care this place has done great both times we used them a little more expensive then what im use to paying but over all great staff great work
I was very happy to find Timmons. Theyre conveniently located with respect to my home, and the work they did on my RV was thoroughly and efficiently completed. I also found them to be friendly, informative, and helpful in my dealings with them. I will definitely use them again and am happy to recommend them to other truck and RV owners.
We took our dump truck and trailer because the tail lights werent working. Got us in and done within the day and at minimal cost! Well be using their service from now on. Thanks Dave!
Great service and knowledgeable guys. They did a great job on my promaster.
Had a great service experience but they never got back to me with the estimate we discussed. Called the next day with a related question and still no mention of the estimate. I assumed they were still working on it but it has been months now so I guess theyve let it go.
I have been using Timmons Auto & Trucks for more than I can remember. I have always been happy with all aspects of service and repair. They deserve six stars! Thank you!
Dave, Lisa & Ryan Timmons @ Timmons Auto & Truck Auto run a trustworthy repair shop in Walnut Creek.I have personally know them for 22 plus years & they have never let me down.
Brought our work van in with an assortment of overdue maintenance needs and a worsening habit of stalling. I gave an explanation of the symptoms and through some diagnosing Timmons was able to let me know that they found some issues that COULD be the culprit but didnt want to promise it would fix the issue turns out all of the work DID fix the issue and for a really fair price amazing value and service. I will not hesitate to refer them
Super cool, went extra mile for me & my raggedy old truck, and also theyre the ONLY people wholl work on older (1982) diesel engines and have a tall enough bay door (14ft) to take you in.
Friendly and courteous service. 100% Customer Satisfaction is always there goal. They you treat you as if you are a family member
Nothing but praise for your companys work ethic, honesty and integrity. Everyone in our company who dealt with your shop had nothing but praise for you. Well be back and will recommend you to others. Thank you!
Great customer service, very friendly highly recommended, it was my first time there and I will be back.Thank you
It’s a honest shop. I gave them the go ahead to replace extra parts that I thought were needed. They said they didn’t feel right changing parts that were still good. I’ll defenitly come back.
Dave was easy to deal with and very responsive. Will definitely do business with again! Thanks
Had work done on my motorhome and work on our cars and find excellent work done and friendly people to fix work needed for our fleet of autos. I would trust then, and recommend them. Thanks, Timmons.Mark Middlekauff
Great customer service.
Didnt get any service done by them YET, but called in and spoke to Dave. He was very helpful and recommended a place to get my problem fixed.
Not wanting to write this at all. Completely wish things had been handled completely different. Hate the time this is taking to try to resolve. We brought our motorhome to Timmons per the request of a potential buyer. They wanted it evaluated by a mechanic. An appointment was made, and we were requested to have it there by 9 a.m. Despite the fact that we were coming from the south bay, my husband had it there by 8:30.I arrived by 10 a.m. to pick him up, and our RV still had not been taken back for its inspection. So we went for breakfast and some shopping. 4 more hours went by, and my husband was starting to go crazy (the shop said they would try to have it done by noon). So at 2 p.m., my husband called, and the shop told us the evaluation was finished. It was finished, but they never called us to pick it up. Huh.We came to pick it up, and Dave had to ask my husband how to operate our leveling jacks. The e-brake was not on, which is required to operate them. There is a reminder pre-printed on the switch panel. An RV mechanic should have knowledge of that.Timmons also raised a concern to the buyer (not us) about the headers. Our coach has a Banks Power kit. We assume he was questioning whether or not they were legal. Not only is it smog legal, it was installed in California by Camping World, and the most recent smog inspection was 3 months ago. The smog report was in a folder we left in the coach next to the drivers seat. And if that wasnt convenient, it could have be verified by quickly looking online, calling Banks Power, looking at the manuals that were in the RV, or even asking us before raising unnecessary concern with the customer.I was watching when our coach was being delivered to the front. It was time to drive home. I noticed that the turn out of their lot was very tight, and the right rear of our coach was extremely close to the adjoining building. However, I thought nothing about it, until the next morning. The next morning, my husband walked outside to notice that the right rear corner of our coach had been dented and scraped. My husband called the service adviser and left a message. The service adviser didnt call back. The owner Dave called back, and my husband explained what he had found. The owner questioned it, which we found insulting. We had repaired minor damage in that corner prior, and it was flawless prior to taking it to Timmons. Dave then seemed to speak as if he already knew that the damage was there. If that is the case, they werent going to say anything, and hoped that we wouldnt find it. Not very honest.Dave asked for photos of the damage, which we emailed. We were never called back. So we called to verify Davee email address. The lady answering (Daves wife?) was rude, assuming we were solicitors. She didnt want to give Daves correct email address. After finally agreeing to give it, we re-sent the photos, and still didnt hear back. So two days later, my husband called in the morning and left Dave a voicemail. Still no call back. We, until recently, owned a substantial body shop in the south bay. We dealt with the occasional difficult customer with false accusations of damage. We always had 4 corner pics of the car, and could usually prove the customer wrong. If we couldnt, we fixed it. It was the right thing to do. We always wanted our customers to be happy. We always wanted to prevent those damaging bad reviews.I have friends in Concord who are regular customers, and bring their RVs to Timmons. Upon hearing of our experiences, they are very surprised to hear about the level of customer service that we received while we were at Timmons. They have asked us to keep them updated on how the issue with the body damage is resolved. I am sorry to say that so far I have no good news for them.We are left with an RV that is now worth less than when we brought it to Timmons. Also, we have not heard back from the potential buyer, partially due to concerns that were raised based on seeming lack of knowledge about RVs.
Very knowledgeable and helpful for RV and truck repair
Love this place
