Today is Black Friday, November 27th and Pep Boys in Pleasant Hill have a buy 2 tires get 2 tires free on Cooper and Definity tires. Our truck ran almost 80K miles on the original tires Michelin from when I bought the truck. I check the website and they have the fit tires for the truck and it says 1.5 hours to finish so I did an online appointment at 12 PM. I arrived 40 minutes earlier at the store and Robert took my keys and told me it will take 2 hours. I came back after 2 hours and they have not touch the truck. I went to the register to follow up with Guillermo and he told me that the truck is next and it will take another two hours. It took them half a day just to put 4 tires next time I will think twice to have any work done on my truck on Pep Boys Pleasant Hill.

Terribly understaffed. I didnt have an appointment, but I couldnt have predicted that my battery would die this morning. I figured I would get an oil change while I was there as well. I expected to wait, but 6 hours? And an hour and 7 minutes elapsed from the time they had finished with my vehicle to when a staff member contacted me. My coupon for my oil change was not applied to my total, no reminder sticker was applied to my window for my next oil change. Sitting in an indoor environment unnecessarily during a pandemic with an empty sanitizer dispenser doesnt give me a ton of confidence in Pep Boys.

The employees are very pleasant, and knowledgeable. They seem to go out of their way to assist you when needed. Their pricing is very good, and there is a way to get a greater discount. Pep Boys offers online purchases, and if you use that option you can get an additional 20 to 25% off the in store price. You then have the option of having the product shipped to you, or in store pickup. What I do is go into their store, find the product(s) I want, and order them online while in the store to get the discount. I wait for 5 to 10 minutes while they locate the parts, and I can purchase my items with the additional Web site discount. I have an older unique foreign car, and if they can get the part my first choice is Pep Boys.
They may have had some issues previously but there seems to be a new manager and he really went out of his way to make sure my experience went well. There as an initial mix up with my appointment, but Robert provided great customer service and made things right. The tech was great too. Not much more you can ask from a customer service perspective than a noticeable effort to correct things, and these guys really did that. The overall quality of the work was good and they were very accommodating. Would recommend.
I had an 11:30 am appointment to have a trailer hitch installed. After about 2.5 hours of waiting my vehicle was moved to a stall. After 2 more hours of waiting I asked the guy at the service counter about my vehicle. He had forgotten to tell me that they couldnt do the job. He told me the reason was because they would have to remove the exhaust. I personally watched a video on installing a hitch the same vehicle as mine. Nothing had to be removed at all! Very disappointed in Pep Boys on Concord Service Dept. Over 4 hours of my time wasted with absolutely no results!
Called them before setting up appointment and confirmed with them AC leak evaluation and was told its $34.99 no hassle but when i got to the appointment and after agreeing to 4 hour wait they took my information and told me its going to be $52 and i asked them i called and the website also says $34.99, guy who was helping me was extremely rude and said we charge $52 i told them i called before setting up the appointment to which he said your welcome to talk to our manager but he is not here he is out come back tomorrow, anyways horrible experience not going back there ever again.
Took my car to this location to get car battery replaced. Set up an appointment ahead of time. Upon arrival person upfront told me that it will take 2 hours to replace the battery. In the end it took them 4 hours to replace the battery and the reason was that mechanic was on scheduled break. Please make sure if a customer schedules an appointment, he/she gets service right away.

I went to the store @ 8:25 am and I told I have an appointment. But the person @ counter said it will take 4 hours to take care of my Car. I told him that I have an existing appointment and I have only one Car. Because of which I am not able to leave my car or I can wait for 4/5 hours at that store. He didnt listen/understood/make arrangements. I always do my Car Service from Pep Boys and it didnt happen with my first time. I went to another shop and they able to change Oil within 30 minutes. BTW, that shop also a renowned chain shop.

I would not take a wheel barrel to this shop! Tried to charge us even though we did authorize service. This assistant manager Steve, I would not allow him to manage a dog house. People like this should be re-educated to run a self service car wash. Its beyond my knowledge to allow this person to cheat people for No signed agreement for service.
I had an appointment at 8 AM. When you make an appointment tou go to where the appointment is at and there is someone that takes you in and you are treated in a timely fashion. Not true here. I came in and was asked if I had an appointment. When I said yes I was told there were other people in front of me and it would be a while. What is the purpose of an appointment? Very ridiculous to be asked to make an appointment when They just do first come first serve. This is the last time Pep Boys will ever have my business.
BAIT AND SWITCH COST OVER $100 MORE!! We bought tires online on Sunday and set it up online for an install Monday afternoon at 3pm. I checked in with Steve, the slowest customer service guy ever. I was told that they wouldnt finish my job until 6 or 5 at the earliest. I needed to pick up my kids by 6 so I rescheduled the tire install to Thursday morning, verifying that everything was still a go. Thursday morning I show up at 8:30, as scheduled, and check in again with Steve. I sit, and sit, and sit. Around 12:30, I get up and go see that my truck is on a lift with all the tires off. Hurray!! Nope. Bad news. They took the tires off the rims AND THEN discovered they didnt have our tires in stock. They couldnt find any of them around. They were going to substitute a different your eat the same price for us. Half an hour later they told me they didnt have those tires in stock either, but theyd be on the 3:00 truck. Or in the morning. They paid for my Lyft home at that point. Friday at noon we finally got the truck back with new tires! But they charged us $100 more than we paid Sunday night. I was ready to scream but my partner who just needed his truck back to go to work just paid it so theyd release his truck to him. Sure, lure us in with clearance tires that arent available. Make us come in for multiple appointments. Then keep our vehicle for over 24 hours. We will never shop with you again. This was a horrifying customer service experience.
Pep Boys = BIG Mistake and BIG Regret..
Yea I ordered a part there and waited a week without hearing from anyone. I ended up calling to check the status and find out the order was cancelled three days ago from the time I called. They said theyll look into getting me the part from a different shop nearby but didnt get a call so I ended up calling again at end of day and no one knew anything about the part. So they told me to call back in 30 mins and maybe someone will know. I ended up having to order the part again...and now Im waiting another week for it to arrive. Ugh!So I waited another week for my part but I got no call again so I called in to check the status (just like last week) and no one knew where the part was. One parts rep said he sees they have the part at the store but couldnt find it. I talked with another parts rep and she told me she can order the part again but Ill have to wait a week. I couldnt believe I was dealing with the same issue as last week. Then I talked with the store rep and he said he doesnt know about the situation and cannot do anything for me and asked if I wanted to talk to parts reps again. I told them to forget it and ended the call. Ive never had so bad customer service. Isnt it their job to manage parts but they cant even help me with a simple order. Ugh! Anyway...looks like there are a lot of people exercising bad service.
They always have a vast selection of various liquid forms of cures for your vehicle, without the mechanic and his hourly rate!! It amazes me that in a bottle, you can fix a Blown Head Gasket. I know of someone that said it a tally worked. I was shopping for freon with the gage & adapter included. A other store has better pricing for that specific item. ( Not K Mart but another one, in front of a wall!!) Back to Pep Boys, my late husband was a mechanic, so now that I no longer have his assistance, I try to give necessary maintenance and resolving issues with U- tube and research of tools and products that are sold to hopefully WORK. They have always had great customer service at this location and yes decent prices, great sales and lastly a Vast selection of cure all in a bottle. You can almost rebuild an engine?? I figure whatever the issue that needs attention with your car, is worth a shot to pour it some liquid . It cant hurt, right?
Ever worse service center, even the manger was rude and disappointing. Just for oil change they give me 2 hours to wait and in the end the manger they can not now they will finish it in end of day mean more 5 hours wait. I will never recommend this kind of service center to anyone.
Had an oil change a tire rotation here last Saturday. They mixed up the paperwork and put conventional oil in my car instead of high-mileage synthetic and not rotating my tires. I had to go back the following Monday to have my tires rotated but they did not changed the oil anymore even though I already paid for high-mileage synthetic oil. This is definitely one of the worst Pep boys branches.
This place is awful. Whether you’re looking for service or just parts, no one here knows anything!!!You ask someone for help locating a part or supplies, they refer you to someone else who is unavailable. The phone app is more helpful!I bought 4 new tires for our road trip to be installed. They only had ‘time’ to install two and we had arranged to install the remaining two tires three days later only to be informed that they are ‘missing.’ How do tires go missing?!? That I purchased! They told me that they’d locate two more that day and the car would be ready, only to be informed that it will be ready the following morning.I arrive to pick up my car the following morning only to find that they couldn’t locate two tires!!! Thanks for informing me idiots! They said it would be ready by noon. Tires still missing. I asked for ANY four tires they had. They locate THREE. Three tires?!? They said 2:30pm to find ONE tire. Guess what they brought back the WRONG tire. Now it’s the end of the SECOND day and I’m finally getting my car back.Don’t come here.
Will never grace this place with my presence again. The cashier wasnt pleasant or even helpful. Ordering and paying online is meaningless. You still have to swipe the credit card. Swiping my credit card twice is too much a security risk!

Very nice folks. They know what it means to deliver great customer service. Got an appointment for service. They were quick and even showed me how to connect my radio to my cell so I could listen to audible. The service rep assigned their tech guy to work on my car. They were also helpful in suggestind a simple breakfast place. These folks went beyond and really delivered.
My husband took our 2009 Honda Pilot in for break repair, tires and oil change. First let me say we assumed they would of checked the bearings while checking the vehicle but they didnt and then my car overheated because they forgot to put the radiator cap back on :( I spend around $1900 Yikes

I scheduled a Sun 9am service appointment at this location for a 2013 F150. For front and rear premium brake service and oil change. the appointment was on time and the job was underway .The customer service man ask to clarify the brake problems as his brake technician and himself have examined my brakes and all pads have 80% left on them and my rotors are all in good specs. I had no idea there was that much pad left. I did not get the brake job but I did get the premium oil change and it was even less than expected!I am so thankful to the service team at this store for their integrity to customer value. Did I get value for my money today? 10 out of 10 yes!Did they gain a customer for life? 10 out of 10 yes!
They were very attentive to my needs and my time. Was in a rush needed to buy a battery and only had a certain them out and they helped me as if it was the daily thing they did. Above and beyond customer care service.
I bought two pairs of snow chains after the lady at the cash register told me I can put them on both the front and back tires.Turns out that was incorrect. If u put them in the back it can cause damage to my vehicle according to my mechanic.I returned a pair back to the store and the same lady charged me a 20% restocking fee. I did not question her nor remind her that shes the one who told me I can put it both in the back and front which she would have denied anyway.Not good customer service at this location.

I come here a day earlier I was told the oil change would take a couple hours so make an appointment which I did for next day when the next day I come I was told the same time frame as I asked them why they replied we do our appointments first so I asked him I made this appointment yesterday he said because the they are making an oil change is rental that what they do. Very bad service. Time waisters boys, first Mathieu ask me to take an appointment. Next day when i came for this appointment he said it will take between 2hours to 3hours for this oil change after 3 hour no call i call them someone said car ready .i went to the location. This boys said no car not readyi waited an other 45 minutes to get this oil change done.there was a tire pressure light on my dash i ask them to fix it Mathieu said come tomorrow next day i came to check it front desk Mathieu again said take seat i will be right with you. Guess what after ten minutes he came and said to me what can i do for you..the said sorry its 6PM i can not take any car after 6 pm. I left disappointed i dont advice anyone to be in that place.i read the reviews after that i regretted.
This was my second time here to try to get an oil change. Both times I made an appointment online, and never got my oil changed. I waited over an hour an a half both times and my truck wasnt even started yet. Poor service to say the least. Management doesnt seem to care that they keep you waiting and tell you that its normal. Dont waste your time and money on a company that doesnt care about the customers that keep their doors open.
Only place that carries decent big bundles of micro fiber cloths. And if u get them on sale or buy one get one free its practically a steal.Some times no one is at the counter though and u end up standing there like an idiot til one of the employees notices you... (happened more than a few times to me)

Very mediocre experience. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Customer service is extremely slow. Employees are nice, but it seems like they are spread too thin. Was told that the job would take max 1.5 hours. Received my keys back almost 3 hours after. Service clerk wasnt able to answer questions I thought were pretty standard I had about my car and had to get a mechanic. Mechanic was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable (but again, I had basic questions). Wouldnt suggest going here if youre on a schedule.

Can’t guarantee if your job is done on time even after the appointment. I brought my car in for simple brake jobs. 3 hours later I got a call saying they can’t do the simple brake replacement because they’re out of parts. When I went in to pick up the car, I tried to sort out the issue and the associate (old white guy who seems to be the supervisor) he just smirked and said “you wouldn’t have the problem if you brought your car when we had the parts” Are you serious? Where’s your manners? There’s a reason for bad reviews y’all. Don’t get tricked by some good reviews here. I would’ve gave them no star if there was an option.

Went to buy truck tire chains online for pickup. Flawless experience from the online purchase pick up in store process. The customer service was spot on and location is all round stocked. Recommend for sure.
Week days or weekends, this store is often understaffed. On Sunday, they had one technician and on Monday they had 2 guys working. If you have 4 customers in the store, wait times spike. The employees do their best, but unfortunately, they all look stressed. I went back for tire service because I had bought the last set there but wont going back. 5 hours turnaround is a bit long...

Terrible customer service! I bought a replacement tire and had it installed and it went flat after 2 days. I brought it back and told them the situation. With no apology, they said that all they can do is try to fix it. So I left it with them and they fixed it quickly, because they didnt tighten down the air valve which caused my tire to go flat. So I came back again to pick up my new tire and they tell me that they can put it on in 2 more days, because theyre busy. I just left with the tire and changed it myself. I do not recommend Pep Boys Auto Parts in Concord.
Appointments mean nothing, expect long waits and personnel that just dont care. Nice little lobby/waiting area but thats about all they have going for them (we can count that as the 1 star since I cant leave 0 stars). While waiting in line the first time I heard complaints from the other two customers in front of me. I waited an hour and a half after checking in and my vehicle was untouched, I waited 16 minutes just to ask the status of it (nobody in line in front of me...just very very slow counter clerks spending time with a single customer while other staff roam around. The end result was I asked for my keys back and went elsewhere to somewhere 5 minutes away, much faster service, more professional and very helpful. Decided to do some extra services increasing the bill by $700 so thats all money Pep boys lost out on for being awful. (not mentioning where I went so people dont think it is an ad for them or fake review) Seriously if you value your time or money just avoid Pep Boys when there are ample other options within just 5 minutes.
Great staff and you can pretty much get for order just about anything you need for your car. Also they have service bays for minor repairs, pretty much your tire and battery needs, other than that they are great

I used to make Lyft car inspection I took to David he said we do it here and he kept me waiting he was talking to the phone more then 10mnts after that the other man working next to him told me no we dont do the Lyft car inspection her just u wast my time waiting i told him I call and I asked ur collage David they said we do it why I come her and I wast my time they are very rude people.
I wouldnt shop there again! I am working out of town and notice my tire was low. so I looked up the nearest PEP BOYS and drove over (7PM) I sat in the holding area and did some of my office work on the computer. around 8:30 they came in and said the tire was unfixable so we called the leasing agent to get approval to buy new tires but they were closed. I said I would come back in the morning when we could get a response from the leasing company. I ask if they could put the spare so I wouldnt have to change the tire in morning if it went flat overnight. in the rain outside of my hotel? they said yes and I waited another 45min. when they finally came back at 9pm they said the technician couldnt get the tire down because the crank was rusted and they couldnt get the tire to crank down. they handed me my keys and said sorry. I drove to my hotel 8 miles away and proceeded to change the spare. the spare tire cranked down with ease and I changed out the tire. please be aware we all have choices of who to use. this is one of those defining moments that you choose someone else.
Purchased tires online. Arrived early for am installation appointment. Staff was especially friendly and seemed anxious to please. Unfortunately service department seemed to be under staffed resulting in longer than expected wait. Installation itself went as expected and was satisfied with results.

I bought a car battery here and they charged me a $15 a recycling deposit. The cashier told me that I didnt need the receipt when I brought in the old battery, but when I returned a different cashier told refused to take the old battery without the receipt. The employees here need better training.
No stars for me! They took almost 3hrs for a simple oil change that could have been done way sooner had the the guy working on my car would have not spent almost more than half the time talking to employees, joking around, eating, and plain old just milking the store of hours. Not to mention my time. On top of all that they tried to give me back the without rotating the tires like we had agreed on.Dont come here if you want your car to get professional service.I only put a star because otherwise I couldnt post this.UNACCEPTABLE!!

Im with Chuck on this one- Pep Boys ought to do something about this.My experience: I ordered 2 struts online on a Thursday to be picked up in the store. the ordering system said they would be ready on Saturday. I got no email. On Monday I called the store and they told me that the parts came from a store about 30 minutes away and there was only 1. I would have to re-order. WHAAAT.... Shouldnt the order stay active until I get there and pick it up AND if their ordering system is messed up shouldnt they get it fixed so that it keeps attempting to get the parts in the right places in the correct quantities? I was told theyre having trouble with a new computer system. That excuse/reason is getting kind of old. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE the personnel are willing to order the parts from back East overnight shipping and they were able to complete the order this way. no extra charge.
I came here after a horrible experience with Firestone and was pleasantly surprised at the level of customer service and honesty shown! They got my AC working again after Firestone made a minor problem worse. I will definitely come back when I need to have my car serviced!

No willingness to work and dont care about customers. 3rd time also same experience and no change in service. Too bad. Management should take action and improve their quality of service to customers

I went in for a Castrol Edge Full Synthetic Motor Oil Change Service at $69.99 (online and in store price). The service include up to 5 quarts of oil, a new oil filter, and courtesy vehicle inspection. The sales tax in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 is 8.5%. I did not request for additional service or purchase anything else.The price of the oil change should be $69.99 plus $5.96 for tax. The total would be $75.94. At the time of my checkout, the cashier said my total was $80.83. I was being overcharged by $4.89.I questioned the cashier on why the amount was so high. He couldn’t explain to me. He said that is what the computer screen is telling him. He then asked the service manager and again he said that is the cost of the service plus tax.We went back and forth about why I was being overcharged. In the end, the manager override something on the computer, gave me a disgusted look, and said ok and walked out rudely to the service area.Your customers don’t appreciate being overcharged. Try having better customer service and listen to what customer is questioning about.I will be taking my car for service at other repair shops.

I went there some 2 or 3 weeks ago to get my flat tire fixed, they said It cant be fixed and I have to buy a new tire, so I did. paid $120+. I just have the same tired flat this morning, I went to a gas station to put some air in it, I checked the tire and guess what. ... its my old tired that they said cant be fixed, the nail is taken out and its fixed and they put the same tire back in for me.... o my God, I am so pissed right now, cant wait until they open their store. I cant even go to work today. They charged me $120+ for my own flat tire telling me thy put a new tire for me.

I called to make an appointment to have my car checked for an engine light that came on, and to get an oil change. The person said, I could make an appointment but it would be up to 4 hours after I took my car in before they could get to it. I said, the purpose of an appointment is to manage my time efficiently, why are they not going to get to my car at the time I drop it off? Can I schedule a time for an appointment that is more accurate, than a maybe? The person answering the phone said well not at Pep Boys. I said, thank you, and hung up and went somewhere else. Since then I have spoken with a few of my friends and they all said they have had simliar expierances with Pep Boys and dont go there and recommend people go else where. I agree.

Came in for a simple tail light change and they took over an hour to do making me miss my 12 apt when I came in around 1030/1045. Let me remind you, a tailight change only takes a simple 5/10 min to do.
Great place if you have hours and hours of time on your hands. Been here since 10am with an appt too. It is now 340pm and two of the four tires on one my truck. I watched and watched and watched as my truck just sat. All they gave me was the runaround about status the whole time. They first told me a price in the phone. Got a full quote and scheduled appt. As i arrived, price was for a different tire even though I told them what truck I had. Double the price. Its not my fault they told me wrong price. Paperwork even says my truck is a HD 2500. Sorry but I will not be coming here anymore and will report my experience to enterprise fleet. They need to removed from the list of recommended spaces to get work done.

Neefs was amazing! I need an oil change, windshield wipers, and two belts to be replaced. The first person I talked to forgot to add the wipers to the order. So when I picked up my car, Neefs immediately took care of me and installed the wiper blades for me right then and there.
The local pep boys. Good store with tire shop attached. Only I know of that is nearby.Friendly staff.

I came here at 2pm all the way from Richmond and they told me they cannot do the oil change now so the schedule an appointment for me at 5pm I came again and they told me it will take another 3 hours I didn’t get the idea of the appointment plus I asked about the price Steve told me 75$ and then he told me it is 88$. That was my worst experience every for an oil change

10$+tax for 2 batterys? You can get 4batterys for $5 on Amazon...
Ordered tires online and setup a appointment. Showed up tires arent there, sat there for 30 minutes to tell me they never left the store they were supposed to be sent from. Told me to come back in two days to get them put on. Irritated with all the trouble I went thru to make the order threw customer service, told them to refund and walked out. Will never give pep boys my business ever again.
Found the part that I needed at a reasonable price. The stores appearance needs to be improved. Looks very disorganized.
As I indicated earlier, Ive had my 2 cars in for service as well as bought many items for both, plus my boat . Ive already filled out Pep Boys survey #122135 w/ all positives .This was particularly important to me since Id previously lived in Danville, Ca. for about 33 years until 2 year ago where I found an excellent fellow : George, who owned his own service department & took great care of me & all the vehicles .

This is where I take my car for maintenance. They always have openings, but you have to be there before 6 pm closing time. Customer service is okay.
