It is thee LAST toy store that is open. No more Toys R us... No kaybees... Thee last toy store. There is so much to look at. The owner is very knowledgeable about the products. The prices are about the same to what youll find them for online. Whenever I visit I always leave with cool stuff

It was awesome seeing so many toys I used to play with as a kid. Staff is great, very knowledgeable about everything they have. Store is well organized and clean.Toy stores are practically nonexistent which is a shame. I hope anyone who reads this or other reviews will take the time to check out the store.

I came in to sell some items and the owner decided to belittle my products and question the prices i was offering on my items. He sat there for like 30 minutes explaining how my items arent worth anything and complaining how hes not selling the same items i was trying to sell but the difference is that he ramps up his prices by at least 4x and he has the audacity to get on me about my prices. The owner also complains about how he has to keep his lights and ac on and how he doesnt make enough sales. In the end he decided to give me a insanely and disrespectful offer of 6 DOLLARS for my items worth at a bare minimum of 450. No matter what i would not recommend coming here especially to try and sell something. Their prices are waaaay too high also.EDIT: As you can see the owner responded saying “this reviews is as fake as my profile you have never been to my store” how is my profile fake? He knows that’s what he does to people when they try and sell him stuff is just break them down and then try and give you an outrageous offer. The prices ARE too high on there products. He is obviously Butt hurt about my review which I think is hilarious and also goes to show how he just cannot take criticism. Smh he also just HAD to tell me that “oh I need to keep my ac and lights on, you see those I can’t even sell that” like I care about that kind of stuff. The reason you don’t sell those certain items is because you could easily just go online and buy it for a fraction of the price you have them for there.

Tom and POT OF GOLD have really made an excellent choice in location and service. The toy shows he has set up are always a huge success and will get bigger and better from here!

I came here after seeing this store on the news because a family stole from the owner, so I decided to bring some stuff to sale or trade. The first time was a semi-good experience. I had some things he really wanted and so a deal was made. But before we made the deal, he had a tendency to belittle what I had by trying to make me feel it would take a long time to sell and the box it came in wouldnt stand out (a gorgeous collectors box ). In which we as customers are not responsible for the way an owner sells his inventory (not to mention my item sold not even 5 days on his shelf). But I overlooked his Rhetoric and eventually got the money I was looking for.By the second time I visited 2 months later, I had some more that I pulled from my collection that I was willing to part with and not only did he belittle me with a $50 to $75 offer on at least 15 items (ALTOGETHER) when one of them is worth $80 at this point and time, he also had a different pep in his step because he had more people (customers) in there, so he was obnoxiously loud while offering me a disrespectful price. The difference is, he was by himself the first time and this time he wasnt. So all in all, never returning here and I will tell everyone I know NOT to come here.A real collectable store doesnt need to belittle in order to get what he wants. Ive been doing this 20 plus years, if you gotta belittle items to buy them, then you shouldnt need to buy them period. Ive met owners like this before in different states and its always clear why they are like this... too old to stay relevant.

I always com by here when headed into the bay area. the owner remembers me and what i am looking to collect after only a couple visits spaced by months and is informative, polite, honest, and grateful. the jnventory is insane - its a small shop physically but so full of things. it stands out because you know that what you get out of coming here to buy or sell is the best market sustainable value and that you are helping a local business and thats cool !

This is my go to spot for vintage Star wars. They have a huge selection of other toys also. Tom knows way more about toys than anyone I know. The inventory is always fresh. If there is something you want buy it because it may not last long.

4/26/15I called this store with several questions about valuating toys, cars, and trading cards. Tom spent almost twenty minutes on the phone with me and was very pleasant. He is wonderfully knowledgeable and gave me some great information. He also stated that he would be happy to view the items and give me a fair appraisal.I was in Martinez a few days and happened to drive by the store, so I parked and stopped in! I introduced myself and Tom thanked me for referring a friend to him. She brought in her Star Wars figures for an appraisal. The store is really neat with all sorts of cool toys and other items. Great gift ideas, for yourself, or for someone else!

Really informative about verious types of toys and real good prices

Prices are fair, and he really keeps a nice stock of rare and common collectibles for all genres from Star Wars to Godzilla and many 80s shows. They also sell a pound of legos for 10 bucks. I like the old star wars starships selection. My daughter bought a Jedi collection from clone wars and an Asoka battle pack. The rare stuff would make any collector happy, but there is also plenty of items children wanting to play with can find. In the area, there is no better option and his stock/selection changes frequently. Keep this as a go to for collectors.

Rip off the guy i met at the swap meet (tommy i think it was )said he owned the store and buys stuff but never has money to do so.I call and find out he is not the owner and another guy tells me this guy owes him money on some things he consigned.Be careful doing buisness here.
