I was given a diagnostic that my alternator needed to be replaced from an Auto Zone check, so I took my car to Carters and told them about it. They said it should be done in a few hours, then called me thirty minutes later to tell me that my alternator was fine and I just needed a new battery. I have been coming to Carter’s for the past few years for routine maintenance. The service is always Fantastic! I was in and out quickly with fair prices. I stopped in today to get my emissions checked on my high mileage Ford Edge, and I was literally in and out in less than 15 minutes with a new tag sticker. It boggles my mind how it is that this place doesn’t have a line out the door because they’re so great to work with.

You know. Sometimes you are just floored at the bill when you come to pick up your car after it’s repaired. When you pick up your car from Carter’s you are floored that it is SO REASONABLE! Some other mechanics gouge you I feel. Never have I felt that way with Carter’s. And never have I felt dissatisfied with his service, and I have been coming here for several years. And he can usually fit you in in a timely manner. I am hesitant to let people know how amazing this shop is for fear it will get too crowded. Ha ha. But yeah, it’s that awesome.

Very bad communication skills. I kept trying to ask him questions, and he kept cutting me off and tried to get me out the door asap. He checked one thing on my car, didnt do anything with it but plug it into his computer, and he charged me $35 for it. Literally did nothing and he charged me for it. Then he basically shooed me out the door. Very very bad.

I came in to get a second opinion on my pulsating brakes because the shop I took my car to previously wanted to refer me to the dealership because he thought it was an ABS problem.Carters Auto took my car for a drive, and was sure it was a problem with the rotors. Got the rotors replaced and the pulsating is gone. Price wasnt too bad either to replace the rotors. From when I took it in, for the rotors replaced, and left was all in about 60 minutes - this was with other cars also being worked on in the shop.

I was in and out in less than ten minutes for an emissions inspection, on a Saturday morning. It looks like a nice family-owned business. There was a Lego table in the waiting area that my son and I enjoyed together.

Had four emergency lights turn on on my RAV4 and code P0171 was the diagnosis at O’Reilleys. Research showed repair level as being very difficult. Dropped the car off, and within four hours I got a call saying my car was fixed. Charged me $88 and told me if the fix doesn’t work, he’d credit me my $88 and work on it again. Very impressed with the honesty and integrity of this repair shop and would definitely take my car there again.

Hes always gone out of his way to make sure we are taken care of every time even if it took a couple of tries and a lot of extra work to find out what was going on. A lot of these other reviewers are commenting that the mechanic doesnt chat them up. I guess they have different definitions of good customer service. They forget that because hes not busy listening to them go on about how smart their pet cat Whiskers is and pretending he cares, he is able to get things done - you know, mechanic things, things mechanics do at an auto shop.He has arguably the fastest turn around time Ive ever experienced. Its a weird day when I need to leave it in the morning and NOT pick it up the same day. Hes fast, hes honest with the work, and he never charges for extra things I dont need or didnt ask for. One problem I had he said it just needed a bit more fluids. No charge. Someone else may have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge. Not this guy.And he may not smile like some mentioned, but like my Russian family says: hes like a good vodka - no bubbles, just business, and I hope this guy stays IN business for a good long time.

Was one of the only shops we could find open on a Saturday when we were having problems with our car battery. Carter got us in quick, diagnosed the car within an hour or so, and repaired everything for $25. Considering he could have taken advantage of us and charged us a lot more, we felt he was very honest. Would definitely go again.

I love Carters. They have been amazing to work with for over 6 years now. My family has had a few older cars and they are always willing to look at things and let me know what ever needs to be done. Im a senior and I dont have anyone that can fix easy things and they have always been available to do something that just takes a minute. My favorite is seeing the elder Mr Carter still working on cars.I feel sad when I see someone has had a bad experience. And Im not surprised at all that Todd would admit that he makes some of his money on parts. I feel like thats a given in any industry. And to me, it shows his honesty. Cars are mysterious to me anymore and with Todd in my life I have someone I completely trust.

Still very happy with the service and auto repairs on my aging car from Carters! I highly recommend checking them out. I never feel like Im being sold anything extra or pressured into fixing or replacing something that isnt needed. And for some reason they cant fix a certain problem, they will give you a good referral.

As honest and helpful a mechanic as you will ever meet. Pricing is always fair. Todd is very low key and straightforward. Great to work with but if you expect him to be in your face and tell you everything about your vehicle, then this is not the shop for you. They will fix what they can and refer you to others if they cant fix it but only if you ask for recommendations. I always appreciate his candor and openness and would gladly recommend this shop to anyone. My family has been going here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed in the service we have received.

Guy tried ripping me off. When I told him I got the same repair quoted for half he got very upset. Minimal eye contact, and just felt sketchy the whole time. Not worth the time or money.Addition for owner’s comments: 20 1-2 star reviews on over 150 reviews. With majority overwhelmingly 4 or 5 stars. Everyone is welcome to see my reviews and decide if I’m being too harsh on you. As you can see, I do leave reviews for everywhere I’ve been around the country. Quoted one price on the phone then charged way more in person. Also I asked if they could install a part I brought, but they told me it wasnt necessary. Asked someone else after and they agreed that the part needed replacing.

Only giving one star cause you have to, to write a review. Worst mechanic ever. He was suppose to fix and exhaust leak on my van that the new owner paid for. He came back and told me there wasnt an exhaust leak. I go back to him a few months later to tell him and he claims to not know me. Says I must be stupid. That I need to stop running my yap and give someone a BJ to occupy me and stop me from running my yap. Jakes fixed his problem. Apparently this is a repeat thing with him. Jakes takes on his mistakes with a huge discount and better service. Stay away from this place.

I noticed Carters driving by one day and figured I’d give them a shot! My brakes had been squeaking and figured I needed new brakes. Stopped in and they checked my car out and told me that my brakes looked brand new that just were very dirty, they cleaned them and now brakes are not squeaking! Owner fixed alternator that was under warranty. The dash light on my vehicle immediately came on when I drove it away from the shop indicating there was a problem with charging. I told him about it and took it back. He checked the voltage on it and said it was working properly. He told me he did not diagnose problems, but only replaced parts. I took it somewhere else where they diagnosed the problem as the alternator and took it to him with their diagnosis. He claimed they did not to it properly and checked the voltage output again which registered fine. He was difficult to talk to and refused to accept any explanation other than his own. After multiple attempts to have him replace the warrantied part, I took it to another mechanic who again diagnosed the problem as the alternator, They took over the warranty from the parts store on the part and I paid additional money for labor. The car works great now, the light is no longer on or showing any problems.Carters was not reasonable, they cannot diagnose problems and refuse to accept other shops diagnosis. They would not honor the warranty even tho it was paid by the part manufacturer. The 6 month nightmare is over finally.

I went in to carters for a simple windshield wiper repair, and left a happy man.As soon as I walked in the door an employee asked me how I was doing. He said of course he had time. I couldnt believe they were open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day either, but the wait time was almost zero, and he fixed my problem in about 1 minute. I highly recommend carters for all your auto repair needs.

I had a very bad experience with Carters Auto Repair:I brought my car to Carters and brought a replacement driver-side CV axle and asked him to confirm that I had a bad CV axle before replacing the part - I watched him write down driver-side CV axle and a note to check the diagnosis first. The following day, he called and said they had found nothing wrong with the passenger-side CV axle. I reiterated that it was the driver-side axle that needed to be checked and he said he would call me back after checking it but never called back to let me know whether he found a problem or to authorize a repair. Hours later, he called saying that they had replaced the CV axle and my car was ready.When I picked up my car, the loud noise was still present although the mechanic said he never heard it. If he had driven the car or attempted to diagnose the problem, there is no way it could have been missed. I immediately went back inside and politely explained my frustrations that they had not checked the car to diagnose the problem before making the repair and that he had not called me back first. At this point, he became hostile and told me he was too busy to look at the car again and that I was lucky that he had taken my car and a customer-supplied part in the first place because he typically makes money by marking up the parts he supplies (I was surprised he admitted this). I was also told that this might not be the shop for me (it definitely isnt) and finally told that he is in business to make money and would not rectify the situation.He got my money this time but I will definitely not be returning to a shop that treats honesty and customer service with such disregard.

Always come for registration. Quick and painless. The staff is not into small talk or any talk, and doesnt answer questions (in my experience) when asking about how to fix issues regarding fixes on your own.

I brought my car in because it was making a strange noise and the steering was giving me problems. Could have been an expensive problem. They researched the problem and fixed it that same day. Even though he said it took them awhile to find that problem, the bill was under $100.00!

Honest, quick and fair prices, we have been going to this place for generations. Rescently factories stopped making parts for my vehicle, we has searched eveey wheee we could and could not find the part we needed to fix our car. Carters was able to find someone to build the part and said the work would be done on the car in about a week. They had it done in a couple days for less money then expected. Took my car there for a safety/emissions inspection. While there, he tore the wiper knob off the dashboard yanked on the turn signal to where the right turn doesnt lock in place, threw the doors alignment off, and only halfway fixed it. I thought safety inspections were supposed to check for problems, not cause new ones?I drive a collectors car as someone elses rating mentioned, and now I have more repairs and hard to find parts to replace on my car that failed inspection due to his incompetence. I paid 100% for his damages, and Ill NEVER go back.If you value your car, take it elsewhere.Carter, since I cant reply to your asinine comment, the fact that you had to grave dig a *7 YEAR OLD* comment tells me exactly who you are. I watched you do it from your waiting area. Why? Because I dont trust people with my cars. Why? Because of people like you. I had to tear the steering wheel off *AGAIN* to replace the plastic return mechanism on the turn signal after watching you break it. You couldnt find the washer pump, and in your irritation at the design of the car, AND INSTEAD OF ASKING THE OWNER, you just started yanking on things until you heard a snap. Again. Let me put this simply. I. WATCHED. YOU. DO. IT.
