The way the outside of the building stands out from the rest of the shopping center speaks volumes about the inside. The coffee is absolutely delicious and they have good syrups. I only had a caramel latte but I am already planning to stop by for more.Theres MANY places to sit back and relax. This is truly a coffee bar where you are given the space you need to drink your coffee and get your work done.
This coffee shop has a pretty cool feel to it, its much more wide open and spacious than Starbucks for example, pretty chill vibes and soft music playing. A lot of the tables are handmade from wood, gives the place a different look. There are a lot of people in here with laptops quietly working on things and its not very disruptive at all. Good place to come and get stuff done. All the different coffees and drinks you could want, and the cookies are absolutely insanely good. Staff is very friendly!
Great spot for coffee. The place was surprisingly large. Modern but comfortable decor. Espresso drinks offered in one size (this is a “thing” of mine and something I look for).My cappuccino was good. The cookies my kids got were excellent.Overall, it was a good experience and I’d stop in if I’m the area again.
Great coffee spot! The place is probably bigger than you would expect. Looked pretty small from the outside but when you go in, its has a lot of space. It’s a modern place, very artsy with great tasting coffee. We ordered a flat white and substitute our milk with oat milk and they did a really good job! You cam come here, hangout on the couches, hanging bambu seats, work by the bar near the window, or even go into a separate room, you can do all that here. Really great place to study and work on your creative jobs.
I have never been to a coffeehouse with a worse seating utilization than this. The place is so huge yet seating feels limited. We saw people walk in and leave because the only options to sit down were a pair of swinging chairs or bean bag chairs. I’m 30 not 13. A chair and a table beat out a bean bag chair every time. Also the coffee wasn’t spectacular.
Great place but can get a little crowded. I occasionally come here to get some work done but if youre going during the weekend you may not get the best seat. I love the place though, great atmosphere and good coffee.
Very chill vibe. They have free wifi too. I got the chocolate milk and it was rich and flavorful
They have a delicious Black Cat latte with activated charcoal and sweetened condensed milk available during the fall. Their kolaches are also delicious.
Finally had the chance to stop in and I’m so glad that I did. Wide open spaces, laid back, low key, no nonsense coffee & tea joint that also has some food and other beverages. Their house coffee was fantastic, I sat there and enjoyed 2 cups of coffee without people “crawling all over me”. Diverse clientele, fair pricing and a very welcome change of pace from that other corporate place. I will definitely be making this a regular stop.
Love the teas they have available and they always have good coffee beans available for at home brewing! Great atmosphere, great coffee, great place!!
Just stopped by here for the first time today. Such a cool place, the atmosphere is very welcoming and gorgeous. The staff was also friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I tried their wedding latte and it was one of the best espresso drinks I’ve ever had. Their house coffee is also smooth and nutty. Definitely recommend this place, I will for sure be getting my coffee from here from now on. Thanks guys!
The drinks here are delicious, but dont bother coming here if you want even minimim service. The girl forgot my boyfriends drink twice because she was in a hurry to continue her conversation with the guys at the end of the counter. Not to help them, they were just chatting. Two people working, both too busy to assist actual customers.
I really wanted to love this place but it just wasnt a great experience. (1) Even thought the menu board appears to be easily changed, it said there was Frozen Watermelon Froze but the machine was actually broken so no Froze (2) When asked what kind of beer they had the cashier was clueless and didnt know where the beer menu thats usually on the counter was (we had to read the name on the beer tap) (3) the line was about 4 deep before the cashier went and found someone else to help make drinks. We waited longer for a coffee and lemonade that if wed been waiting for food to be made (4) They started closing down more than an hour before closing time to the point that there were people siting in sections and the rest of the tables had chairs on top of them. For us this was seriously discouraging and (5) The whole place was dirty/dusty and looked pretty run down. Plastic plants on walls and suspended from the ceiling, rattan hanging chairs with broken rattan, and black angled shelf/wall divider that looked like itd never been cleaned. Also no sign of anyone bussing or wiping down tables and chairs between customers. My coffee was fine and I like the unique blends but the rest of it could use a good cleaning, touch up, and service reset.
Great coffee and pastries! Wish they had more food options but what we had was good stuff.
The service was terrible, our lattes were extremely sweet we could not even taste the coffee.I will say the decor is nice but thats about it.
Cute! Needs more comfy seating but it’s decor is hipster-stylish and the honey lavender latte I had (in a beautiful mug) was pretty delicious. I saw a Cultivar sign and am assuming that’s who roasts their supply. As far as I can tell, this is the only coffee shop in the area open past 3pm, except Starbucks. Good for you, Plano.
Chill place to get work done. Wifi, good drinks, clean space.
I needed place to work remote for a few hours, and happened upon Mudleaf Coffee.I ordered a latte from a very friendly cashier, and barely settled into a leather chair before it was ready. The coffee was very enjoyable.Mudleaf has a great ambiance for a reader, writer, someone tapping at a laptop, or a quiet chat with a few good friends.Highly recommend for good coffee, good staff, and good atmosphere.
Good place to eat a light n fresh breakfast.
Nice place to sit and work, fun environment but service was pretty slow when moderately busy
They actually serve real coffee to live people who sit inside and enjoy each others company! Rebels! Genius! Bravo Mudleaf for bringing back the ancient art of communing over a cup of joe.
First time visiting, the barista blew me away with his latte art (he made a clean looking bear face; Ive only had sloppy hearts or those leaf looking things from other coffee shops so I was really impressed). Second time, I was very disappointed. I ordered a 16 oz iced Witches Brew Latte. It almost cost $7. Didnt make a big deal out of it and thought that it was going to be something spectacular for the price. I was wrong. It was very plain-looking, and there was nothing in it (like spices/sauces that could have jacked up the price) except a tiny bit of syrup (?) that sunk to the bottom. I like to support small coffee shops instead of Starbucks, but heck I could have gotten something larger and had other ingredients added (spices/sauces/etc.) for cheaper at Starbucks or at another small business coffee joint. That was the most Ive ever paid for a coffee. I was wondering if it was a cold brew I ordered, but it states online that it was latte. It was tasty, but mediocre at best. Maybe it would have been better if I ordered a hot beverage instead? Overall, it wasnt worth the price and I regretted purchasing it.
THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, I SERIOUSLY MEAN IT. THIS TASTES SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN STARBUCKS AND ITS SO MUCH LOWER IN CALORIES AND HEALTHIER AND CHEAPER! I GOT A 16 oz MATCHA LATTE WITH ALMONDMILK AND 1 PUMP OF VANILLA, AND OMGGGGG IT WAS SO DELICIOUS, I MEAN IT. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE THE STAFF WAS SO NICE!!!! WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK!!!!!!!!
Have been here many times and enjoy the coffee, staff and atmosphere every time😀
Excellent service by Hunter today! And a great London Fog.
I visited recently with a friend. We agreed on two things:1. The food items were outstanding.2. The espresso drinks tasted awful.I have visited well over 100 independent coffee shops, and though my friend has visited less coffee shops, we both found the coffee drinks incredibly bitter. That said, the food items were absolutely outstanding - among the best weve had anywhere.
Love some local Plano coffee. About time starbys!Love this place and the vibes.
Mudleaf is an inspiring, joyful place to write or journal. Everyone here is happy as soon as they walk in, so its easy to meet people. Once, a couple friends and I accidentally hosted a meetup group of fellow writers by chatting with them one by one, until they just joined our table. Seasonal, boho decor is rotated throughout the year, along with innovative in-house drinks. I liked the butterfly pea flower lemonade - delicious and pretty! Also, their lavender latte and lavender cookies are excellent.
I know this review isn’t always going to be relevant, and I hope I’m able change/update it down the line, but regarding pandemic-related concerns: mask enforcement in this place was virtually nonexistent. To their credit, staffers were wearing masks, and it is clearly a popular place, but countless customers sat closer than six feet apart having extensive conversations with no mask on and minimal coffee being consumed. I realize that this speaks primarily to the customers, but at some point, the onus is on the establishment to ensure that if goods aren’t actively being consumed, then masks should be worn. The coffee is undoubtedly good, but if you’re at all at risk for Covid-19, I cannot recommend dining inside Mudleaf until the pandemic is over.
Forget Starbucks - Mudleaf is the place to be. Great staff, great coffee and treats lots of room to spread out study, read a book or hang with friends.
Really good coffee shop with a good vibe. Something that is lacking in the Dallas area.
Got wood?! Food was unexpectedly tasty. The wedding cake coffee was sweet which was a good recommendation from the staff. Simple place with a nice flow. Wish I had more friends to meet up with here! I also ordered the monkey bread which was delicious. I should warn you, I have a soft spot for independent coffee shops. Love the craftsmanship!
Adding to my review below to reinforce my love for mudleaf… stopped in for a bag of coffee and also got a honey lavender oatmilk latte to share with my husband… this drink was really delicious ;) also I just love this shop, it’s beautifully designed and I added a photo of the pay it forward Java jacket board that’s close to the entry. What a great concept. Sending love to this coffee shop and the people who work here - so glad to have you in the hood.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This place is very cool with high quality local roast coffee, knowledgeable baristas. Sadly we have lived in the neighborhood and only during quarantine were able to walk over and get coffee. I hope they make it through as we love this shop now!
The place is big but it get vary packed the coffee was good too matcha was alright.
Nice spot. Friendly service. Coffee is decent. Good for studying, maybe working if you dont have meetings and can focus.Open theme space. If you like cozy ambiance theres a little bit of that, but its more modern look, with a bit of rustic vibe.
On coffee alone, I would rate Mudleaf at about a 3.5. Its above average, but not on the same level as Houndstooth or Ascension (both of which I would rate as a 4.5-5).I had a cortado, presented on a wood plank with a small glass of sparkling water, which is a nice touch and indicative of a shop that takes its espresso seriously. The taste of the cortado was good, but again, not as good as some of the top shops in the Dallas area. The 4-star rating takes into account the uncommonly large amount of sitting and work/study space. The main area is already quite large but there is also a separate room off to the side with a long table that provides plenty of work-space for multiple people. If youre looking for a good place to get some work done while also drinking above average coffee and espresso, this is your spot.
Love this place...I just wish I knew the meaning behind the name: mudleaf. Great atmosphere. Great coffee - really cool vibe. So great to see small, independent coffee shops surviving around town especially during the pandy. Also, this place is huge, so super easy to social distance.
Good quite place for studying or working.Staff are kind and respectful.
Love this new coffee shop! Almost didn’t want to write a review so less people would know about it! The wedding latte is amazing, and I love that they have oatmilk available. I went on their second day open so anything served via tap wasn’t available (cold brew, nitro cold brew, kombucha) which was disappointing. The furnishing seems almost complete, still some work to be done, but overall I was pretty happy with the experience and can’t wait to come back when the kinks are all worked out! (Forgot to mention, I ordered a large but got the smaller one, didn’t mention anything because there were only two people working and a very long line)
It is a very nice place to work. People are nice and their lavender honey latte is sooo good. They might be a little overpriced compared to other coffee shops but my experience with them has been good so far.
Nice and quiet when I go in. The baristas are friendly. Their cappuccino and Americanos have been my go to so far. I would recommend this place for a good cup of local coffee.
Can’t stop thinking about their breakfast tacos I had a few weeks ago. So yummy! Great coffee too! Loved it!
Great coffee spot! The best service and lavender latte ever!! Very cozy and zen space too. Always try to go there when Im in town.👌🏽
Spacious with decent coffee.
I’m from Washington DC, price point is a big factor for me when it comes to coffee shops. Why am I paying almost $7 for a nitro cold brew in north Dallas Texas. The coffee itself is fine no complaints, but this is a lose situation no matter how one looks at it. It’s just coffee guys. Tip a dollar for the pour and you’re out $8 for the day for some caffeine 🙄. Coffee del ray around the corner all day for me. Or even 1418 coffee house. Anything but here. Cheers.
Have been here twice - service is excellent and the environment is great, but Ive received a bitter and largely flavorless latte both time. Not sure if the other drinks are better but I wouldnt recommend their lattes
Was busier than usual when I went in at 10am on a Tuesday. Their service and hot beverage quality is always superbly consistent no matter the time or day, and so I will continue to be a consistent customer as long as that continues. ;)
Great service, outstanding coffee and kumbucha... and probably the most creative interior Design North of the George Bush Turnpike. #MudleafeCoffee is even equipped with a meeting room, sofas, chairs, barstools, conference table and big screen TV for presentations.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR A FANTASTIC CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Coffee and service were GREAT!
Great ambience and great non-coffee options, like chai tea and hot cocoa
It was okay the staff was nice but nobodys wearing a mask only the people that work there nobodys social distancing
They have good crafted drinks, quite place for a chat or study
This is my favorite coffee shop. Great drinks, lots of space to let people spread out, and nice staff.
I love this place. Actual coffee and tea and also real social distancing and adherence to rules to keep us safe right now. Its the only place Ill go into for Danish and coffee!
This is the most amazing coffee shop I have ever been to! Not only is the coffee the star but the amazing staff always makes me feel so welcomed and is so kind. Give a shout out to Cassie, Abigail, or Ariel when your there! Kat thank you for making such a sweet place to let people connect!
Not your typical coffee shop. Big and very light. Great foam art for your lattes. Friendly service.
I’m so sad!! This place is adorable and I loved the atmosphere, but I didn’t... like... the coffee? I drank it, but it was really really bitter and I didn’t really enjoy it. I’m personally picky about coffee, so maybe that’s just me, but I wish the coffee was more mellow.
Great coffee and ambiance. Usually crowded.
I go here a few times a month. Love the London Fog and the Chai Tea. You can also get breakfast tacos there.
