They didnt have a lot of things in stock and/or on the shelves. I couldnt find what I needed and it took me 30 minutes to find it, which was add another location and out of my way. Antoine was very good at helping us locate what we needed. I just recommend never calling an academy sports ever because they dont pick up. We had to call five times before they picked up and it took them like 10 minutes to pick up on the fifth try.

The store puts your safety first. Gloves, sanitizer and some one stationed at the door to assist you. Its a easy flow to the layout, clean and organized. The only thing I have issue with were some of the prices. You know its pretty bad when the regular priced items are fully stocked but there are empty clearance shelves.The customer service was on par with the stores organization, polite courteous and patient. Great place to get kids sports wear and shoes.

This store is clean and laid out well, things are very easy to find; staff members are helpful and friendly. I was looking for a knee brace, and they had a good selection from different manufacturers. This is also my go-to store for camping needs, sports related gifts for the grandkids, and athletic shoes.

They were very helpful when it came to looking for shoes, especially youth soccer shoes, we found a great pair of Nikes for our daughter. Great associates

The gun associates are very helpful and attentive to your wants and needs. They actually had 9mm ammo in stock which was a blessing. Good clearance deals if you can catch them while in store shopping.

A good place to get a variety of sports equipment... And at reasonable prices.. Recently got a large mosquito netting for $10... one large enough to cover a cot.If it is sports/outdoor related, they have it.

Im a African American Male with a right to carry permit, so I asking this gentleman a question the first in line he walked right past didnt say a word then started helping 3 different people before me. Then when I finally get a chance to ask him my questions he just fires off the number 15. Im like what is 15 but no response back attending other customers. I never so disrespected I my life... I promise you one thing Ill never shop at that Academy again...

Walked into this store yesterday (07/29) around 7pm and asked a young lady by the fitting rooms for help, I believe her badge name was Angela. She was very helpful, stopped what she was doing to help me right away. I asked her a question that she didn’t know the answer to so she asked the closet associate near her where my item I was looking for was. The other girl, she was wearing a long sleeve camo looking shirt with dark hair, I think her badge said shala? Hopefully I got that right. she just gave us a nasty look and walked away like if we were bothering her. Angela explained to me she was fairly new and she apologized, however she shouldn’t have had to apologize for another rude associates behavior. I’ve been in here many times and majority of the associate team here is awfully rude and unhelpful. Hopefully that Angela girl finds a new place to work, she looks like she deserves better and that’s the only reason why i gave 2 stars. Academy do better

I have always loved this store. Friendly staff, nice collection and for some reason it feels great in there.

I placed an online order for roller blades. When I picked the size I wanted & paid, I was told that Id receive a text/email letting me know when the order was ready. I received an email that my order was canceled shortly after placing my order. They were out of stock in the size that I requested, but this clearly was not displayed on the website. Now I have to wait 7 days to receive a refund. This is horrible custom service. If possible, go into the store & pick up your items so you can make sure they have them.

Nothing big to complain about really. No Texas Tech clothing, no Baylor University clothing, No SMU, TCU. When I asked why no TT, the said it was too far away. Only UT and A&M. Other than that, decently priced Sporting Goods Store.

There is a large selection of kayaks, canoes, and gun bullets, and the prices are reasonable. The return policy is also good and easy to use.

Store was clean. Staff were knowledgeable but not friendly. Cashier a young man kept on pushing me to open a credit card after I told him no. He kept on talking and once again I said no thank you. Until the transaction was finished, the young man wouldnt stop talking and pushing for me to open a credit card. I think Managers should advise them to know when to quit.have stopped

Good selection of products. Really annoyed that you are not able to open and look at the gun safes though. I was ready to pull to pull trigger on a $1k plus purchase but im not willing to buy something I cant look at fully before purchasing so taking my business elsewhere.

This place had what I needed to secure my weapon and ammunition. Academy Sports + Outdoors is an amazing upgrade from the Academy Sporting Goods and Surplus that I worked for in the early 80s. Arthur Gotchman and his father were responsible for starting these stores in Houston and Austin, Texas. If you can afford it, they have a great selection of sporting goods, camping gear, hunting and fishing, shoes for running, hiking or kicking it in your favorite cowboy 🤠 club in cowboy boots. The clothing is the best and a great variety. Most of the staff are young, as was I, but their customer service is superb. Stop in, visit for awhile and pick up your great selections.

Standard sporting goods and outdoor activities store. Many items are reasonably priced. Some items are over priced as compared to other stores.

Weve been buying lots of different outdoor stuff lately. Each time I check all the typical sources, like Amazon, Scheels, REI, Cabell, etc. Academy wins almost evert time.

Loved my puma shoes. But i accidently paid 35$ for some shorts that were placed on a clearence rack by accident.

My son deployed overseas 16 daysc ago. Asked to go get him a pair of running shoes. Staff was so so helpful. I even got shoes for myself & my 8 y.o grandson. Prices were very reasonable! Fast & easy to check out, i even saw them washing carts!

Decent selection and good service

I loved the experience, right at door you are greeted by a gentleman. Then they follow a separate door for entry exit which could be confusing for some, but this is corona time. When inside they have a big store from active wear to fitness equipment.Employees are very helpful, and come asking to you whether you need anything.And they have big parking lot so all overall good experience.

I am in the service industry, and I understand there are good days, and bad days. But, Im absolutely sick if putting out the best of myself to give my patrons the best experience possible, and then having the worst experiences in a store where Im spending my hard earned money. Even such little things as this.Passing what turned out to be an employee who was in some kind of supervisory position, a tall 20 something kid, with an olive complexion, and dark hair. I smiled and said hello. All I got back was a scowl!!! I was on my way to seek out gloves, and a pair of boots. This little bit of rudeness changed my mind, and I left the store immediately. I will never return to any Academy location, EVER!! I do ALOT of outdoor activity, and spend, what probably amounts to hundreds a month on gear. My hard earned money will be going elsewhere from now on.Step it up, people. Your lucky the rest arent as demanding as I, for products, and SERVICE for my money.

Good selection and fair prices for my new golf shoes. But even better customer service. Very, very helpful floor staff that goes out of their way to make sure you found what you came for. Plus, excellent service and positive attitude at check out with Nancy. Very smart manager on duty, Patrick, responded to my request and made a fast decision that basically had me believing that the entire crew here gets it. At the end of the day, the same golf shoe is in 20 other stores. I didnt even price shop. It ALL about the service, especially in these challenging Covid-19 times. My thanks to all at Academy. I LOVED my visits to Academy. I have lost a great deal of weight, not intentionally, but nonetheless I needed comfortable clothing that fit. My first experience was in Galveston, when I couldnt find a modest pair of swimsuit bottoms in extra small. No one has cute and relatively inexpensive shorts and tops in a small enough sized for me, except Academy. I had looked online for days.The second experience was even better. I shopped at a Plano store and came home with several modest and really attractive tops, for a great price.My hubby found a shirt made by Columbia and he absolutely loves it.We will do our shopping at Academy from now on!!!

I like Academy very well, I have been to several stores in the Metroplex area the staff always seems knowledgeable and friendly. only a couple of times have a had an issue with new hires not knowing or maybe just not caring! if you enjoy the outdoors you will probably find something you can use at Academy, my go-to place!!

Overall a decent store, but the gun counter employees are good examples of why the stereotypes exist.Dismissive and rude in response to a simple question.I guess Id be upset too if I was in my fifties and working retail.

I wanted to return under armor shoes that cost me 30 dollars (on sale) written on the box ... They wanted to give me 13 because I didnt have the receipt... Ive never seen 13 under armor shoes at any stores🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄... So I just got my 6 yr old son bigger shoes until he can wear them..

Academy Sports is great! Ive purchased clothes and gear of all sorts for years. This particular location seems to no be restocking their guns and ammo.

Nothing special about our visit. Staff was pretty hard to locate although the checkout process did go fast and smooth.

Couldnt find a nice pair of sketcher gym shoesThe variety of sketchers were slim.

Did not find what we were looking for. Winter boots. But employees who helped us were friendly, letting us know when shipments come and that winter boots usually start selling out around this time. He let us know to look online as well. :)

They have good prices and choices on budget good equipment. And Ive looked their weights and strength training stuff too. But I stopped by their guns and ammo department today and it is a shadow of what it once was.

My husband saw an ad on the computer for a handgun he had been wanting to purchase. Well....this old man that works in the sporting goods area would not even look at my husband. Told us that he didnt have it. Without even looking to see. Turned his back and never turned back around until we were walking away. We will order somewhere else on line. Poor customer service.

Usually reliable and reasonably $. We were shopping for cleats and only sizes were youth and we needed an adult size.

It is overly hectic, the online order and pock up in store option has some smoothing out to do for a better process so the employees arent being run ragged. The staff for the most part are friendly, down to earth, easy to talk to and will go out of their way to help you. I liked seeing all of the items that the store offers. I honestly didnt realize how much they have in a wide variety of products. Some locations are larger than others, have more items and easier to navigate through.

My boyfriend purchased a bike for me on yesterday and they told him that it would be available to be picked up In store on today. This morning he gets an email stating that the order was canceled he called and the lady that he spoke with could not provide a reason why stated that he canceled it.. Ma’am if I canceled it why would I be calling to see why it was canceled. Needless to say no money has been refunded and no bike...what a disappointment and huge dissatisfaction for a first time customer. I will not be patronizing this establishment again....

Well I can say some of the prices are good comparing to some of the other sports stores Ive been in.But I Have Given Them A Low Score Because they Could Not Find the Rifle on File, Anywhere In Their Computer Systems That I Bought Brand New. It was a New Model of A 306 Remington Rifle Bolt Action, For Deer or What Pleases Any Grand Hunter! Its Only Been Shot like 10 times, BUT...I BOUGHT IT IN 2003/04 AND HAD NO RECORD OF IT??!! I AlsoBought 2 boxes of Ammo. I Also Bought A Very Large Nice Scope,Also A Double padded Locking Case that I had Bought All At The Same Time!!They Are Making A Big Effort to Find the cerial number for Me, And Promised to Have it To Me By The Following Day.Thank you Academy For Your Great service and Getting RT ON IT FOR ME!!IF They Do Find The Number,I WILL Most Definitely Change My Rating. I ordered online and selected curbside pickup. The online portion went flawless. I got to the store and signed in ... then, waited. And waited. After about 10 minutes, I ended up calling the store and it rang and rang with no answer. I waited a couple more minutes and dialed it again. They acted like this was all new and asked me what I ordered and if I had checked into the system. Within 3 minutes someone was coming out with me order. Just a 3-Star experience.
