My transmission on my 2011 Chevy Cruze got stuck in drive while I was heading to work. I gave AAMCO a call and spoke with Rahim who was able to send a Tow Truck to pick my vehicle up. I just picked up my Cruze yesterday and Donnie told me I couldnt be Speed Racer for the first 200 miles. Hey I love to drive fast but I have to follow the instructions given. Grateful that they took their time to fix my Cruze and I even got financing to help with the repairs. Rahim and Donnie were very professional and I would Highly recommend this place to anyone! CALLED AND TALKED TO DONNIE HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL...TOLD HIM WHAT I THOUGHT WAS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE HAD IT TOWED TO HIM AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS HE GOT BACK WITH ME TO LET ME KNO THE PROBLEM AND OPTIONS. Lost clutch pressure on an 05 GTO, took it in for a slave cylinder replacement. After a 3 month turnaround, no big deal, I get my car back with a scratch on a rear trim piece. Talking with Rahim, he says either a $50 payment or none at all, as other parts are scratched so their damage must not matter. All in all, the transmission work was solid, but if you expect any kind of personal responsibility, or expect your car to come out cosmetically the same way it went in, Id look at another shop.

Best experience I’ve had - my truck has 300,000 miles and Donnie & his team of awesome mechanics kept me informed, walked me through suggestions, and even helped me with cost (thankfully). I highly recommend!

Aamco did an awesome job fixing my transmission on my 2017 Elantra! I came in and they were able to get me taken care of quickly and everything worked amazing afterwards. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable and were able to answer my questions. They only charged me for what needed to be fixed and didn’t pressure me into paying for things that didn’t need fixed. I will definitely be coming here again if I ever need to.

After my experience with Mercedes dealership, I didn’t think I would be able to get my car fixed, I researched local shops that were able to work on European vehicles and I came across AAMCO. I called and ask if they work on Mercedes and they work on almost any make. They told me bring it in for a free diagnosis and we would go from there, I brought it in and he called me by the end of the day with a estimatefor the fix, after what Mercedes told me I didn’t think there would be a way I could afford the fix, but, his name is Donie I believe, explained in detail what all was wrong and what it would take to fix it, and I say it was a HUGE price difference from Mercedes Dealership, he used great parts he sourced himself and has experience with, and on top of all that, they finance! Which was a financial convenience for me! 5 starts over all!! If you have a european, bring it here! This team will take care of you!

Amco Transmision did an excellent job on my 2003 Avalanche. The truck drives better than it did when I bought it used. Shifts so smoothly now. Donnie was excellent in customer service as well as mechanic who did the work. Thank y’all

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They’ll lure you in by telling you that they will give you a 2 year warranty on their work but they don’t want to stand on their word. I took in my car to get my transmission serviced because it had a leak and they put silicone to fix the leak instead of getting what was needed to fix it, mind you I spent $2,300 to fix my transmission and they cared for my car as if it didn’t matter. My warranty is still valid with these people but I will not be bringing my car back just because of their service and the way they handled my car. David seems friendly but once he gets your money he’s a different person. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I took my excellent condition 2011 Nissan Quest LE to Metro Nissan of Dallas for service including a transmission oil change. I asked the service advisor to make sure everything else is good with the van and if there is anything else that needs to be serviced. I was told nothing else needed except Brake oil change, Coolant change, and Battery replacement, which I agreed to and approved. I was also provided with a multi-point inspection report showing all checked items appearing green (perfect condition). Once I paid the charges and started driving back home, my minivan suddenly stalled in the middle of the highway. I had to get it towed to the dealership. They checked it and the next day the service advisor called me to tell me that I need a new Mass Air Flow sensor and Throttle body cleanup. I approved this repair. Once again I picked up the van and started driving back home, when my minivan started going into limp mode after every stop sign or traffic light. I had to take it back to the dealership and next day service advisor called me that my minivan needs a new transmission and quoted me a price of $4,700/-. By this time I was completely frustrated with Metro Nissan of Dallas. Hence, I took the minivan from them and called a few other repair shops, including AAMCO (national brand transmission experts). Every shop questioned the diagnose being doubtful and asked me to bring the car in for checkup. After a thorough but absolutely FREE checkup, Don kept me well informed of the diagnosis process and Anwar, the technician at AAMCO found the issue. It was a cracked air flow hose, and he explained to me that when we accelerate the car, the engine physically moves, and the air hose cracks become more open and takes in more than the required air intake. But when we keep driving our car, the engine doesnt physically move as much compares to the initial acceleration from a deadstop. Long story short, the technician at Metro Nissan of Dallas are either incompetent or are instructed by the management to misinform the customer and mint more money from the customer.This air intake hose replacement at AAMCO was the right thing to do, which I was expecting the experts (Metro Nissan in this case) to do.I wasted $$$$$ by trusting Nissan dealership. I should have brought my minivan to this AAMCO on K Ave in Plano at the very first time.

I was driving to Texas, from New Mexico, when my transmission started acting up. I contacted AAMCO IN Plano Texas and they waited, hours past closing, to be there for me when I got there that night. Raheem was super nice to me and was very understanding about my time frame. I trusted them and they did a fast great job replacing my transmission, so I could return home to NM. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I was in a situation where I was getting a new engine put in my car and I am very pleased by the service offered at this AAMCO. While the process took longer than I had hoped, I would prefer the technicians take their time to be sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. I felt that confident that I could trust what I was being told and I wasn’t talked down to as someone who doesn’t know much in this area. Integrity and great customer service are very important to me when making business choices and I would visit this AAMCO again.

Brought in my Lincoln MKZ Hybrid transmission was not acting right. After they checked everything they figured out it was the battery connection that was throwing off the computer which was causing the delay. They reset everything and it works great. Great service. David the GM was a pleasure to work with.

Was recommended to go to AAMCO after being quoted an extraordinary amount of money for labor and parts at the dealership.They were very professional and honest, and very paitent with all of my calls and concerns. They worked on getting the best price for the parts my vehicle needed and got my vehicle repaired very quickly! I ended up paying less than half of what the dealership had quoted me. I took my car in on a Saturday for a transmission issue that suddenly took a turn for the worse. Brought our Land Cruiser in to have the exhaust manifold replaced which is a common issue on them for the year I have. I knew it was a big job, but David and his team came through at a better rate than I was quoted at other shops and way lower than the dealer. It was done as promised and I spent several minutes discussing the job with David who told me of a few other things that is common on these vehicles to look out for in the future. Vehicle is running great and I feel confident that if I need anything else done in he future, that I’ll bring it back to them. Great experience!

I have to honestly said, the guys at Plano location are the bomb. My car was there for a minute( not due to them) but they worked on my baby until she was Right. Been taking all my family vehicles here now for probably 2 years now. I have 2 BMWs, a Nissan, and a Ford. I’m 58 years old and been dealing with mechanics all my life. David runs a great shop and is extremely competent but also I trust him. These 2 traits are what I look for mechanic, and David checks both boxes.

Even though there is an AAMCO place closer to the house, we go to this one when we have a question or an issue.When brother had a problem with his Dodge Charger, Dave took the time to explain the issue and lay out some options that fit his budget.My wife’s van had major issues this past week while I was out of town, so I spoke with Dave at the shop. He arranged to have the van towed, called me with the diagnosis, and took care of the problem. My wife did not have to do anything but pick the van up when it was ready.Happy wife, happy life!

My son had major engine issues (blown head gasket and possibly damaged head) with his 2015 Kiv Forte. We took the car to AAMCO and began working with David who approached our situation in a very consultative, logical, and trusting manner. He provided us a number of options including researching the cost of a replacement engine. After considering all options we decided to salvage the car. I did not get this type of treatment from other car repair centers. I highly recommend and would use David and the AAMCO team with any future car repair needs.

David was extremely nice and never suggested more than what NEEDED to be done. Nothing is more comforting than someone who is honest and knowledgeable. He repaired my issues in a timely manner and I never once thought twice about my decision to take my vehicle to him. Extremely reasonable cost and top notch service!!

Theyve had my car since May 23rd. They called me ONCE on May 24th. I have called them every week, and every week they say it will be ready Wednesday. Called just now, no they didnt call me, only to be told, well call you back. Im about at the point to going and taking it someplace else. David is nice, so is Raheem, but nice doesnt get you back on the road, and telling me its going to be ready Wednesday is becoming a joke.

Great first experience; we saved thousands and got the work done weeks ahead of the dealers schedule. I will be doing all of our out of warranty repairs at the Plano AAMCO location from now on for the following reasons: 1) Dealerships cannot use rebuilt parts. In many cases, rebuilt is as good as new but way less expensive and available far more quickly. 2) The service is far more personal. David will take as much time as you want explaining options and pros and cons. You decide what you want to do. 3) The dont recommend work you dont need.

Had a great first experience at this AAMCO location. David was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and it only took a few days to get my broken transmission rebuilt. I feel like the price was fair for the extensive work that was done and I’m very happy with my experience and definitely recommend!

I was looking for a shop to check my transmission as I thought that it was slipping. I saw the AAMCO reviews and met with David. He was very knowledgeable and he asked that I leave my car to diagnose. He assigned a technician who checked the car and could find nothing wrong. He asked that I continue to monitor. There was no charge. The service was courteous and the facility was great. I would highly recommend the K Ave Plano facility.

This place is amazing. Not only did they fix my car in a timely fashion, it was a great price for what I needed to have done. I dont know why I hadnt been to then sooner. This place is great. I took my car in because of a grinding sound. They could not find anything wrong with it after inspecting the car and the noise didn’t reproduce. Instead of making up a problem and charging me hundreds of dollars they were honest and just told me to bring it back if I heard it again. Honest people. Would highly recommend this shop.

The manager is very nice but lacks communication on what is going on with your car. I had to go there because of the warranty otherwise I would never go there. For some reason they went through my glove compartment & had some of my items on the floor board. It took 3 weeks for them to fix my transmission. The manager kept giving me the run around. I had to contact them to see what was going on.

I had an older Infinity I30 with multiple issues. David the manager promised to do a thorough check of the transmission, and any other critical issues that might show up. They did an extensive diagnosis, including external, test drive, and computer diagnosis, and did it all at NO CHARGE! Although it turned out to be more than we wanted to spend on a 20 year old car, it would have been very reasonable on a newer car. The best part is how very friendly David, and his assistant manager was to my son and I. I would return to this AAMCO for repair in a heartbeat. Good show!

They rebuild a transmission in my Ram 3500 Dually. Ive had absolutely no problems they were very thorough and are now working on a transmission for my sons truck

My Mercedes 2000 E320 had a problem of its transmission stuck in 1st gear. Aamco correctly diagnosed and repaired it at reasonable cost. Another shop wanted to charge a lot of money to have the transmission rebuilt to fix. David, the manager, was very knowledgeable and honest. I strongly recommend this place.

David, the GM, took very good care of me. He and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the issues with my vehicle. They did a great job and didnt try to take advantage or overcharge me for the work. I highly recommend this place!

These guys are the best! Our small business depends upon keeping our trucks in top working order & we trust this particular AAMCO shop. When other transmission shops told us we needed an expensive over haul, they were super honest & just recommended a minor adjustment. Mechanics that are this honest & competent are almost impossible to find nowadays. We definitely recommend this as the place to go for both transmission & general auto repair!

My trucks differential died just down the street, so I pulled in here. Dave took the time to explain the details, and then jumped through hoops to locate parts and keep the cost down while still doing the job right. Came in below the estimate, and working great now. I wish every place Ive had work done had been like this.

I do not know any reasons for any previous negative comments. My experience here was great. After I spun the bearings inside my differential and Paul & Co. were able to tear the transmission down and replace them in quick order. After I got my car back it really does drive great. Any transmission work is expensive and sucks but its a good feeling knowing it was money well spent. Thanks AAMCO.

The general manager (David) and his team are terrific. They have my trust and respect for how they do business. They are knowledgeable, thorough, they do not gouge you, do not take advantage and most important they are trustworthy... that is why I travel 30 miles for both my cars to AAMCO of Plano.

So I am pretty new to the area, and when my cars engine light started to flash and my steering wheel started to shake I didnt have any idea who to take it to. Frankly, Id never heard of Aamco. But I used the Open Bay Website who listed them as a recommended facility and I managed to limp into the parking lot. David met me there and agreed to take a quick look at the car. If it was a bad belt or a simple thing he said he would fit me right in. Well, it didnt turn out to be a simple thing so I ended up leaving the car there. I didnt hear from David until about four the next afternoon and I was pretty much expecting my beloved little rust-bucket to be halfway to car Valhalla. Instead, David had spent the morning trying to track down a part which he found at a (gasp) reasonable price. Despite it being on the doorstep of Christmas he had diagnosed and repaired my car in two business days. David was very friendly and polite. He made sure I understood what he was trying to do, and what to expect. He even serviced the belts gratis because I had been worried about them. I would certainly recommend Aamco to family, friends, or a complete stranger. If I have car issues in the future, I know where Ill be going.

I meant to sit down and take the time to write this review earlier but life got a little crazy. Dave and the people at this location are life savers. They took my car in at the last minute only a few days before Christmas and were able to repair my axel with a very quick turn around. It even ended up being much less than what I had expected cost wise as well. This place has become my go to . My fiances check engine light just came on and we went straight there. :)

Keith and Bob did a wonderful job managing the work on my 350z. I came to them with a non-functioning clutch, some parts, and a specific request, and they had the work done within a day and for less than anyone else in the area. I will definitely be returning to them for any future service.

I have been having issues off and on with my 02 Focus over the years and the thought of finding a good mechanic and team was the last thing I wanted to do!Luckily, AAMCO is on my way home from work so I stopped in one afternoon regarding some heavy vibrating my car was doing. Keith immediately diagnosed the problem and the rest of the crew fixed the problem within about 15 minutes total. The most important thing, it surprisingly didnt cost me an arm and a leg either!Highly recommend Keith, Bob, and all other members of AAMCO!

My car has been extremely troublesome since I’ve moved here a couple years back, and every time I bring my car here they go above and beyond. David takes the time to explain the issue, and find a resolution. They managed to repair damage that was done from a previous place. They will work with you, and they actually care. The manager, David, is what this industry needs! Upon first walking in, he and his staff greated me with a smile and a real handshake! (Much appreciated) l went there because of a rear end leak. Once my truck was on the rack, his technician found the problem to be a pinion seal leak that could be fixed fairly quickly. The tech also showed me my transmission pan was leaking.(a repair another shop had done months ago which l had to take back 2x for them to stop it from leaking.......apparently NOT!) That shop used the wrong parts and rigged it up to get me out the door.David and his team fixed that up too, the right parts, the right way! All at a fair price.I dont normally write reviews and l do most of my own repairs so take this as you may but l like these guys and l will be back!

Great shop, honest management. You will not be ripped off. Very busy all the time because they are so good. You need patience, and you need to be the one calling them if you want an update, but its worth it. My 2011 Cadillac Escalade ended up needing a new engine after owning it just 1 year. Good thing I bought an extended warranty. The warranty company sent me to Aamco since they have a contract with them.While my car was in the shop, something happened to the windshield. They took care of it. New windshield. Thank you David and crew. You rock.

Excellent experience from start to finish. I called their shop, spoke to Bob and told him I had a blown 4x4 transfer case. He had it towed to their shop at no charge, gave me a cost estimate the next day and had it ready on time and under budget. They also checked the transmission and topped off the ATF fluid.Great company to do business with.My son had them rebuild the transmission in his Blazer two years ago. Still running great.

They replaced my transmission. Expensive as all get out, but they did a good job. They even asked us to come back in a couple weeks for them to check and make sure theres no leaks or anything else. Good service, on time with estimates of how long it will take.

Went in with my 2004 Chevy Z-71 for a differential and transmission rebuild. These guys gave me a fair price and finished the work really quickly. You can tell the manager takes pride in his work. Each time I called up there to check on my truck he answered every time and took the time to fill me in on the status. Upon completion, they stand behind their work. He even had me come back for a follow up so they could check fluid levels and make sure everything was operating as it should. I will recommend these guys to friends and family (that says it all right there)!

Do not go here! Disreputable.1 - Would not honor warranty. Had to go above them to Fleet services2 - Kept 6 weeks for 1 week repair. Each week, Be ready Monday then Not ready. Will be Thursday. For 6 weeks!3 - They did not replace broken transmission brackets. Honda had told us about it but Aamco, even after repair, did not mention. This would cause damage.4 - Engine does not run well now. They acknowledge this before we picked it up, but says not their problem. I suspect they did something. Wish I could prove it.-- Do not trust them.

I take my car to AAMCO at any sign of trouble. I was there three weeks ago and Paul, the technician, was excellent. They always get me in and out in no time. I was just there for a simple checkup, and they helped me out a lot with preventative care.

Great service and friendly employees! They saved us some money by welding, instead of replacing expensive parts. Weve been ripped off so much by other car places, so having a place actually save us money was pretty refreshing!

Pulling back into town from a road trip my transmission light popped on and it slipped into safe mode which was very noticeable. I took my car to the local AAMCO in Plano for service. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and I was back on the road quickly. The problem reoccurred three months later and I took it back. Upon examination they determined the replacement part failed, replaced it under warranty and put me back on the road. I found the GM David very knowledgable and transparent. Unless you are a mechanic, a person has has no real knowledge of how a complicated transmission works leaving you vulnerable. David at AAMCO Plano is a man who can be trusted to shoot straight with you and is not out to just empty your check book. I would recommend them to anyone with confidence.

We were lucky to have found AAMCO transmissions in Plano, Tx. Our trans went out in our Nissan Murano and they were able to get it fixed quickly and without any problems. In addition to doing transmissions repairs they also do total car repair and also fixed our radiator leak. We were very happy to find out that they offered us an extended warranty and we now have a 3 year / 50k mile warranty on our transmission! Great service and we highly recommend them!

The staff primarily Keith, were very kind and helpful. They diagnosed the problem with my 4Runner but they did not fix that sort of thing so they called all over Plano to find someone who could. They did and the people they sent me to were also wonderful. Problem fixed and all is well. Thank you.

It was time for a transmission rebuild and of course, for anyone in my position, its time to panic because you have to go and try to find a shop you can trust with not only good service, but also a good price. As anyone would, I shopped around and was quoted the same price range everywhere. I knew it was going to be around that price due to the fact that I have an LS4 engine. As I would talk to different shops, I carefully paid attention to the manager, employees, and customer service of course. First approach to me means everything, specially if you want my business. All the other shops were OK and offered me a 12,000 mile/12 month warranty. Some managers at other shops rubbed me the wrong way, but David Varnell @ AAMCO made me feel very welcome from the very start. He went ahead and started asking questions about my situation and I answered. Before I knew it, he was already familiar with all the symptoms that my car was having. He then proved that he (David) was very knowledgeable. He went ahead and made me feel welcome like a true friend would. He then went ahead and had his team run diagnostics on my cars transmission. It was time for a rebuild, but he offered me a 18 month/18,000 mile warranty, which was a better warranty than any other shop. He was very friendly, yet professional, and thats what sold me. What also sold me, was the fact that my dad had also had work done by this shop on his Silverado truck, and ever since his rebuild, his truck has been running strong, and its been 10 years since his rebuild. In about a week or less my car was ready to get back on the road and I was super happy!! David went above and beyond in the customer service aspect, and I really appreciate that. He took care of me and was very friendly throughout the process. Now my SS is running strong and its all thanks to David and the guys at AAMCO. Thank you guys for everything. Customer service and quality work is everything, and you guys exceeded my expectations.Thank you so much!!! If you need transmission work done, come see David. Location is not so great-but quality work, honest and great pricing makes it worthwhile going there.
