We have been Oberweis customers for 30+ years. There is nothing like truly fresh and hormone free ice cold milk from a glass bottle! Go for the milk but try the ice cream and other fresh dairy items too.

The milk and ice cream here are awesome. I take advantage of their 4 quarts for three offer to stock up for the month. Dont judge. ;-)

Great ice cream but they managed to mess up my orders. The waffle cone tasted bland and a little stale. Ice cream, though expensive in comparison to other places ($6+ for two scoops), is exceptionally good. Its not excessively sweet and the taste of milk is evident. Nice in-store fridge packed with farm-fresh eggs, milk, hard cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream. Ample indoor seating and two restrooms for customers.

Ice cream here is always made well and toppings throughout the cup not just piled at the top like dairy queen. Service is the reason I go though. Always great service and happy employees.

Best ice cream even better shakes. Mint chip is my go to shake and black cherry for soft serve.

The cashier young lady was VERY sneery I really did not like her vibe.In my opinion this is OVER PRICED everything.Give me a break. $10 for a banana split?No thanks...never again.

We had a family reunion after 22 years of not seeing eachother at a restaurant down the street. It was no problem for us to sit together at the restaurant. We decided to visit Oberweis in Plainfield for dessert afterwards. After spending 60 dollars on ice cream we pushed a few tables together since there was 10 of us. We were excited to continue catching up on 22 years. But then, an employee came over to us and told us we were not allowed to sit together. They made us socially distance from our own family. We sat at 3 separate tables and tried visiting with eachother but we were so spread apart the conversations were divided and it was very disappointing. When my 9 year old daughter had to use the bathroom we noticed there was no mens or womens room. Only guest rooms. We unfortunately chose the guestroom with a urinal in it. My daughter used the restroom disgusted she was eye level with a urinal. I peeked inside the other guestroom and noticed there was no urinal in what used to be the womens restroom. Get it together Oberweis in Plainfield. Not everyone is as woke as your store and not everyone wants politics shoved in their face. We will not visit it again.

I don’t know what the hype is all about first time trying a cake shake size small for $8 (I had high hopes but what a waste lol it tasted like Wendys frosty . Couldn’t taste any cake or anything .Nothing special. Could never beat portillos cake shake for half the price!

Why does this store abruptly close at random times on door dash..? And it’s never at the same time? So I will plan to order and then all of a sudden they’re closed..? My family loves this store and they’re so kind and accommodating but it’s just so inconsistent.

We travel a half hour to go to this location because the store manager Nicole Rowan is always nice to see. Well worth the drive because its all about service and she has provided great customer service since she worked at the palos park location.

Stopped to get ice cream at the drive-in. The service was quick efficient and the ice cream was terrific. This is really the place to go for outstanding ice cream on a hot day. There is plenty of parking nearby where you can stop and eat the ice cream before it melts.

I love the ice cream at Oberweis. Consistently I am in the quality of the ice cream. It is super creamy and rich! They also have a good selection of flavors that you wont get tired of tasting. The high level of product quality is consistent over all the locations I have been to.

The best ice cream around. Top quality every time you go. Staff and management always looking to take care of you. Reminds me of an old time soda shop from the 1950s. Also, fantastic milk and all the dairy products you could ever want!!

Fantastic ice cream and dairy products! Weve been going to this Oberweis for years, mostly for the glorious shakes but also for sundaes, quart ice cream, cakes and pies. We also have had their home delivery for 2 years now.As others have said, its a little pricey. I feel its justified though because the ice cream and related products are just so rich and creamy. You can even smell it in the store, the scent of the whipped cream, its incredible. You can also get quarts of ice cream at the store, cakes, milk, etc, and Ive even seen t-shirts and cups for sale. I was tempted to get one of their over-sized coffee cups today in fact.Their customer service is fantastic too. Ive contacted them twice over the years about this particular location and both times I was compensated after the problem occurred.Whenever we go out for ice cream, we go to Oberweis. I dont even want to bother going anywhere else.

I was excited to return home and enjoy some of my favorite ice cream, but was sorely disappointed. I should have known the ice cream was no good when I took a bite and tasted ice chips. The entire cone tasted like freezer burn. I was so bummed, but was in too much of a hurry to turn back around. Stay away from the espresso caramel chip unless you want it with some ice chips and horrible after taste.

A little pricey, but well worth the price. Some of the best milkshakes youll ever have!

Ordered today 5/5/19. Waffle cone with 2 scoops and banana shake. There is a long black hair actually embedded in the waffle cone, actually embedded in the layers of the cone. Rather gross. Have gone here quite often as it is local to the house, but I dont think well be going here anymore. I can share the picture if needed.

What a terrible experience. I’ve been going to your stores longer than that rude cashier been alive and to be treated this poorly. After repeating my order at the speaker for the third time and the cashier getting it wrong, I drove to the window to give the order in person. Was ignored for over 5 minutes and only when the line of cars behind pilled up the cashier opens the window to tell me I have to drive back in line and reorder. I asked if I can give her my order in person then go back to the end of the line since the speaker wasn’t working properly, the response was “sorry, there is nothing I can do to help you”. I repeated my request citing the poor quality of the speaker. But again, “ sorry there is nothing I can do to help you”. That statement says it all about Oberweis attitude to its customers.I realize losing my business doesn’t mean much to Oberweis, but no way my family or I go back to your stores

Great ice cream

This has got to be the most ridiculous business in this area. Icecream is great like every other oberwise BUT the management and staff are rude and inconsiderate. They act as if they are doing you a favor serving you and have horrible attitudes. They cater more to doordash than customers coming in to support the business. Like just now for instance they shut the drive thru down so the delivery are not inconsiderated and making customers go inside and wait in line. Most people just left and in my opinion a horrible business decision.

Ordered delivery and they didn’t have prepacked black raspberry so they hand packed it and left me a kind note in my bag!!! Really sweet!!!

Terrible customer service and manager was rude and unapologetic. My wife and 3 year old waited in the drive-thru for over 20 minutes and when they got to the window they said they were closed. It was 30 minutes before the posted closing time!! When I called and asked Jack, the manager, he said Thats just how we do things around here. Way to disappoint a 3 year old girl Jack!

Delicious flavors and excellent service. The espresso caramel shake is the perfect blend of sweet and coffee flavors. I was concerned that the caramel flavor might over power. Instead it was just right. Also, the milkshake is delightfully finished with whipped topping and a rolled cookie. This location also had ample seating and a large selection of pre packed ice cream.

First time there. My wife and I had milkshakes and we bought a small cup of vanilla ice cream for the dog. I think it came to about $20. It was awesome, so they are excellent but expensive.

We came in 20 minutes before closing tonight 3(labor day) and so did others. Well everyone was told good night as they left but our family. My youngest is the one who caught it. We left out right behind everyone else at close. Not the. Best customer service experience Ive had here.

Very good place for icecream. A bit pricey at times and very rich but delicious for treat once in a while. Had the cake shake and it was very good. I also reccomend the sundaes.

I personally think its a bit overpriced, a hot fudge sunday cost 5.50 so, you be the judge. I mean thats one scoop of ice cream, a bunch of whipped cream and a drowning of fudge. The frostbite is a good value, a medium with some toppings is about 5. Its a good portion of ice cream. I give it 5 stars because the service is always good, and the product is delicious to justify the high prices.

I feel like their ice Cream always tastes freezer burnt :(. My kids liked the place.

The first time we went for a shake we about fainted at the price..but thought it was delicious! So we went again, tasted nothing like the first time so we stopped going. Well tonight i said i wanted a root beer float. So we went. Basically got one scoop of ice cream plopped in a cup and rootbeer over the top. I was so disappointed in this. Anytime I’ve had a rootbeer float, the cup is filled with ice cream and the rootbeer poured over. This was just pathetic!

Just ordered a cookies and cream shake and a frozen coffee. Sssssooooooo good. They were quick n nice n made it right. 🤗

Pricey....and I know people go there for the ice cream (obviously) but try their smoothies!! Taste so fresh. I recommend their strawberry banana. They have justtt enough banana in there. (Other places do too little banana or too much banana)...but over all, one of the best places for smoothies is oberweis! (Or baskin robins lol)

I never write reviews but paying close to ten dollars for two HORRIBLE frozen coffees for the third consecutive time... I just had to. This is by far the worst oberweis Ive ever been to. Im going to avoid this one from now on. No one behind us or in front of us (i wonder why) and they still couldnt make it decent.

First visit, wont be the last. Awesome ice creams, a must try. Reasonable priced too.

I am seriously not understanding the hate in other reviews. Their ice cream is wonderful and, as far as I know, they use local (ish) farmers for their milk which is also hormone free, etc. Yes, its pricier than the gallon of generic milk at Walmart and their ice cream is more expensive than some soft serve machine but thats to be expected.The staff is friendly and Ive never had a bad experience here. As for my preferences, Id say go with a malt.

Great ice cream and milk shakes...Drive thru was slow thats why I gave only 3 stars.

Asked for no sprinkles on my shake and she put sprinkles on it. Ok, no big deal, then When I told her upon handing me the shake of the mistake, she apologized and took them off so I thought. On my way home I found out that they just mixed them in. Tons of sprinkles in every spoonful of my shake. Drove back and let her know at the drive up window I needed it corrected. I couldnt believe it! I didnt say anything to the young lady even though i had alot i wanted to say. She was embarrassed and kept apologizing! Clearly she was uncomfortable and embarrassed she had got caught!

I wish they sold unpasteurized milk here, the FDA blows.Ignoring that, the chocolate milk is incredible; sadly I do prefer Cocio to Oberweis, but Cocio isnt sold i the US so Oberweis takes the #1 spot for best-chocolate-milk in the US.
