A sweet coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown Plainfield. Service was great as well as the espresso and cookie that Ive had. Pricing was well at a little over $5 altogether. Indoor decor and seating sets a cozy yet chill atmosphere with decent spacing.

Krema is a very trendy and quaint spot on the main drag of downtown Plainfield. I haven’t spent too much time down here, but I’m glad I stopped in Krema. Their menu is huge and they had way more items on there than I expected. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. It only took them about 2 minutes to make my drink and I was out the door relatively quickly. If you find yourself in need of a pick me up in downtown Plainfield, consider stopping at Krema. I will be returning in the future.

A lovely, quaint coffee shop with a homey feel and cool decor. It is located in a really nice downtown and offers delicious food and coffee drinks. Seating is limited, but comfortable and they have clean restrooms. They sell some merchandise as well if you need a mug, some coffee, or even a T-shirt.

Wonderful food, coffee and ambiance. Had the bacon Gouda breakfast sandwich and the s’mores toast. Clean and friendly.

3 girls were working and one of them was very loud, swearing and making phone calls on speaker while sitting at the bar stools and wearing her mask on her chin the whole time, overall just kinda obnoxious. Didnt even seem to really be helping her coworkers when behind the counter. Hard to concentrate and relax with that. Other than that food was good and the other girls were very polite. Use to absolutely love Krema and came in because it had been a while.

Decent food, bad service. It took over an hour to get a sandwich, coffee, and pastry for my online order. I did that to save time in line while my friend ordered in person and hers was the same, took over a half hour. Plus lots of bees outside, which I know isnt all their fault but it made it difficult to eat outside. Cute spot, food wouldve been really good if it was fresh/timely, not gonna go back though. Sorry!

Cafe always a special boost to creative inspiration bolstered by fantastic avocado toast drizzled with honey. Sandwiches melt in your mouth! Prove me wrong. Ha!

This is where my fiance and i shared a first date and fell in love. we both realized we have the same coffee preferences, and ordered the same black coffee which was delicious and full bodied. great atmosphere and great place to make memories

Cute ambiance. A bit dimly lit if you want to read. Ordered a menu item which included avocado, however, it was excluded. They never notified me if they were out of avocados or the reason it was missing. No change in price. Probably would have ordered something else instead. Chai latte was 95% milk. I did not drink it. Unsure if it was Chai concentrate or truly tea.

Well, initially we had a lot of trouble ordering because the single speaker they have playing music is literally next to the ordering counter at an unreasonable volume. We couldnt hear the worker, and they couldnt hear us. The reason for my bad review though is the fact that all 3 drinks ordered were just, bad? The Chai Tea latte tasted like liquid cotton candy and the Mocha Iced Coffee tasted like slightly flavored heavy whipping cream that which I should mention made us stomach sick after drinking it because it was literally mostly heavy whipping cream. We had a bad experience the last time we were here as well.

I went to Krema out of curiosity since it seems like a pretty well known place. I walked in, ordered a coffee to the baristas suggestion (which was nearly $7 for a 16 oz), and sat down to do some work on my laptop. The problem was, I could not focus because there was some screeching noise going nonstop... A fan? A broken speaker? Couldn’t tell you, but I can say it was disruptive.Also, the staff was not wearing their masks but still engaging closely with other coworkers and customers. It just did not seem very professional, and customers asked to have their areas cleaned due to the poor standing of their seating places. (I wish I did... I just brushed the crumbs to the side).I am very disappointed because I was so excited to try this place so close to home and my commute to work, but I don’t think I will be back.The customer service was nothing to talk highly of, the atmosphere was not even on the same spectrum as the other coffee shops in the area I’ve been to.Not to mention, the very pricey coffee I purchased I didn’t even want to finish— the taste just wasn’t what I was expecting. They do roast their coffee in the cafe which is a nice touch however.On a more positive note, they had a great music playlist going!

Creative, friendly and kind staff with some great coffee combinations. Doubt they will be winning some big coffee competitions, but for the area, this is the best coffee shop around.Pastries are nice AND made in house! They have some really great local classics, but more importantly their food options are super yummy and well thought through. Cute local coffee spot. I had a Lavender Sun iced latte, and it was like summer in a coffee. Definitely worth the stop to try this.The bagel sandwiches are massive and and my guests both said they were tasty too.

My husband tried one of their specialty drinks, Homesickle; he enjoyed it. They dont have many dessert options. I rate four stars to leave room for improvement.

Stopped for some coffee. Had an almond latte and a beagle sandwich. My breakfast date had a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was hot and delicious. 2 thumbs up for the cookie also.

Always fun and interesting to try the coffee concoctions. Love to pair it with some in house made tasty pastries. The scones and bagels are DELICIOUS! The baker is creative each month with a spin on the classic staples. Unique interior vibe makes you want to hang out all day.

Extremely slow service and mediocre food and drink!!! Arrived at 10:05am. We waited in line for 35 minutes to order two coffees, bagel sandwich and avocado toast, and a cinnamon roll. Waited ANOTHER 35 minutes to get only a portion of our order. This COULD speak volumes of how popular, desirable, and delicious this cafe is. But, really, it is due to inefficiency. Definitely need to figure out how to move things along. By the time we got our food, it was practically lunch time. Had we known this “pit stop” would take over an hour, we would not have ever gone. Be prepared to wait a long time.A few other things to note- they forgot to put the cinnamon roll on the order ticket. After the painfully long wait, my husband asked how much longer for the cinnamon roll.. and the worker (young girl) was rude in her tone and response of saying “it’s not on the ticket” and proceeded to turn away. We get mistakes happen, but how about the staff offers to assist finding out what happened with the order and rectifies it??Food was meh. The bagel sandwich was too salty which made it hard to eat without sipping water every other bite. The avocado on the toast was brown (is this due to poor quality ingredients or the long wait to the point the avocado started to oxidize??). Either way it was not at all appetizing.. and definitely not worth almost $8. The cinnamon roll was purchased for my toddler. However, it dry and the bread itself was stale. As such, it was a complete waste as it went straight into the garbage. The coffee was fine, in a pinch.Worth mentioning and considering before venturing out to this establish — we are in a pandemic. So many concerns with this cafe: 1. No social distancing whatsoever. Which would be okay… but 2. Many, many patrons where not wearing masks while standing in line. With the excruciating long wait, it becomes a bit uncomfortable standing close to people not wearing masks. I felt like a sitting duck. Furthermore, this was even more infuriating as I had my 23 month old son in tow. He is not of the age yet where he can effectively wear a mask so this establishment is not safe for vulnerable populations. 3. Payment… everyone touches the payment screen and there is NO hand sanitizer to use following. This is a basic necessity in today’s world. So PSA for those who are bit more conservative in terms of covid, you will not feel comfortable in this cafe.**I rated this cafe two stars ONLY because a manager did apologize for the screw up with our order and did ask if we wanted a refund. We have no problem paying for the items we order. The length of time of waiting, the quality of food, and covid procedures most definitely have room for improvement.

First time coming to Krema. Nice place to go when you don’t want to go to a chain coffee shop. Located in downtown Plainfield, it has a convenient location. Parking wasn’t bad but I’m sure could be hard during busy time of the day since it’s street parking.The atmosphere is super nice and they have local artists display their work, which is super cool!

Great place! I wish they had some more slap you in the face coffee+cinnamon combos but the Lumberjack is still good.

Totally worth the stop if you want some coffee in Plainfield. Chill atmosphere, great drinks and some really good coffee. This is my wife’s favorite cafe of all time. (Also I was surprised how much food we got when we ordered the spinach artichoke toast, super delicious too!)

I love this local coffee house! Exactly what downtown Plainfield needed. The coffee beans are roasted in house and all their pastries are made from scratch. They have rotating weekly latte specials which are always very delicious and flavorful. At times there can be a bit of a wait but this should be expected when they are hand crafting each drink. I literally crave their coffee.

Honey bourbon latte...O.M.G. Smores toast is AHmazing!!! Super friendly staff. I love that its a roll out of bed, throw on some yoga pants, and walk five minutes away kind of shop!

The atmosphere is really nice. Food is good and the flat white was good. A coffee house is a nice addition to downtown Plainfield. The wait after I ordered was a little long for my coffee. Maybe because they are still new so I can let that one go. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the hours, they are only open till 3pm. So its not a good place to hang out after work with friends or for my kids to stop in after school is out. Hopefully this will change.

The WORST place I ever had coffee or tea. Literally went there twice out of necessity and had coffee that was so bad that it was undrinkable how do you mess up iced coffee? The girl that worked there was super rude. I came back five months later to another girl behind the counter that was incredibly impatient and rude and gave me what was supposed to be a mango tea that tasted like water with food coloring in it not sure how this place is still in business.

Went to this coffee shop on a Friday morning! It was busy, the staff was super friendly & helpful with picking out the perfect coffee I wanted! The breakfast sandwich was great, I got the ham, cheese & egg. Also I got a white chocolate mocha & they shaped the foam as a heart! I love the atmosphere & how cute the layout is inside, fun place to meet someone for coffee or breakfast. I will return with my friends & family!

My absolute favorite coffee shop! Their lattes are always delicious and perfectly balanced. Their roasted beans are so good too! Also, the sandwiches are scrumptious. As a bonus they support local art and artists. I am not sure I could physically love a store more than I love Krema.

Excellent crossaint sandwich! Made fresh while you wait. Coffee, Americano for me today, was very good. I do like it a bit more bold, but it was still tasty. Seating is comfortable, but limited. Like most coffee shops, people camp at the tables with a book or laptop, thus the turn over is slow. Four or five seats per table, but only one person sitting at it. You certainly can ask to share but it feels a bit intrusive. A few two seaters may be helpful. Definitely worth trying it out!

The vibes in this place are immaculate! I’ve been in here a lot the past few years and its my favorite little coffee shop. Right now because of covid you cant go in but its so important now more than ever to support these places. This is the perfect place for a date when things get back to normal.

Cute shop in the wonderful Plainfield area. Staff were pleasant. A bit of a wait to order, but thats to be expected on a colder day. Waited for a fairly long time for my cappuccino to come out. Unfortunately, I didnt try the drink before getting pretty far down the road. It was difficult to judge the flavor of the coffee because it was barely luke warm. And I mean barely. I had gloves on so it was difficult to learn this a bit earlier. I didnt have the opportunity to go back and ask them to make it again, but it was extremely disappointing given the price of the drink, the wait, and something as basic as the beverage temperature was likely an afterthought during prep. Hopefully my experience was just a one-off situation, but its difficult for me to want to go back to give them another shot.

I went in today with my sister the experience was not pleasant. The people working did not know the menu, asked about the teas and they didn’t what was in them. My drink wasn’t even filled all the way it had so much room for more like I paid $5 for a drink for it to be missing part of it. Only gave it 2 stars because the actual drink was good but I did not like the service

Great coffee, customer service, and location!

We dropped by here on a rainy day, and despite the large crowd of people, were able to get our Chai Latte (pictured), coffee, along with delicious blackberry pastries, within 3-5 minutes.The fresh fruit used in the pastry was unbelievable, and paired well with the drinks.The staff were both professional and expedient during the ordering process. I believe the manager was present and keeping things running smoothly. We will definitely return the next time we make the trip to Plainfield!

I loved it! It had such a comfortable feel to it and their coffee was amazing! I got their pour over and got to pick my own coffee blend. They had warm lighting and cool artwork on the walls. The workers were super friendly and the environment was great! I highly recommend Krema Coffee House.

Stopped by Krema for the first time today and had a delicious latte and Krema club sandwich. I was looking for a nice spot to meet my dad for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat and Krema turned out to be a great choice. My latte was perfectly balanced and my sandwich was really good too. A great coffee shop experience. Highly recommend!

I was ordering avocado toasts from their place because they like 1 min.away from my working place.First time i’ve got decent portion,second time i went and i’ve got pretty small piece of bread and egg that was overcooked,anyway i still kinda liked this place till the time they put spoiled milk in my coffee.Be careful ordering stuff from their place!!!Very disappointed

I love this place so much. The coffee is amazing and the workers are so kind. But as of recently every time we have went our orders have been wrong or our food has just been sad looking... ( ex. Little to no avocado on the avocado toast, barely anything on the sandwiches ect..) I’ll defiantly still stop by to get coffee but don’t think we will be ordering food anymore.

It’s chill. Idk who kept playing with the music volume but it was annoying.

What a wonderful find. Rolling through town a stumbled on an absolute gem. Coffee roasters in house. Homemade bread, pesto and much more. I got the Krema Club (ham not turkey) and the Mrs got the Tomazzo. Both were delicious. Friendly, attentive staff.Highly recommend.

This is my first time there and I have to say that I enjoyed being there. We attended movie night and saw Desk Set with Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy and that was a wonderful experience as well. The staff was cordial and kind and the cinnamon roll was delicious as everybody told me. Go and enjoy!

Love that they have a wide variety of milk alternatives! Not a lot of coffee shops offer oat milk but this place does! Cant wait to go again soon!

To be honest it seems like a nice coffee shop. I set up a meeting here and me and my guest could not find a place to seat. There are at least 3 or 4 tables that seat 2 or more that had only one person sitting there. While there is nothing management can do about this, it is frustrating to have patrons overuse these facilities when there are people who need it for shorter meetings. May I suggest 20 minute max tables for meetings only and set up community table/s for the remainder?Based on this I had to leave with my guest and did not order anything. It will be tough to come back.

Been a few times and mostly enjoyed it. Last couple of times I have gone to get a coffee to go it has been made wrong and I didnt realize until I was already on the road. First was a latte made with cow milk (which I am allergic to) instead of soy (when soy was written on the cup) and the second time was today when no syrup was added to my latte (again, written on the side of the cup). Good coffee, but worried about the details in making drinks.

So glad to have a local coffee shop and not a giant chain in downtown Plainfield. They have imaginative specialty and all the classic coffee drinks you could want. The food seems to be locally sourced, and options for breakfast, brunch, and dessert. There are def choices for everyone. Also love the local art rotation. Its like a new exhibit every time I walk in. I feel a bit rude walking too close to other patrons, but I love getting up close with the art. Love the rustic floors and furniture as well. Def an awesome spot.

My friend and I tried this new local mom and pop coffee shop for the first time today. Let me tell you, it definitely lived up to its potential and did not disappoint! Great atmosphere. Very clean. The classic cappuccino served in a house mug like the small cafes in the city hit the spot. The food was also very tasty. Definitely recommend and will be back daily. Please keep in mind that new places have to make adjustments when they first open to work out any kinks. Be kind before you review. We need this little coffee shop to stay!Here for a second time and the food, cappuccino and service is amazing!

A great coffee shop! Sandwiches, coffee and now pastries. They are brewing their own coffees now which are very pleasing. Tables, counter and a sitting area for relaxing. I appreciate the staff and their explaining the different roasts. Always a great visit.

Very cute place! Coffee and breakfast sandwiches were great, although the food takes awhile to come out. Not a problem as long as youre not in a hurry.

Great place to grab a cup and catch up on reading or to sit and chat with friends. Good selection of coffee drinks and teas. Solid food menu. And the atmosphere is awesome. Its great to have a coffee place to go to that isnt Starbucks.

Ordered the flat white and only one person in the building knew how to make one. Tastes great, and the price was fair for the setting and service. Staff was very welcoming. Only complaint is the hours. Theyre not open enough but I hope they extend hours in the future for the after work/college study crowd.

The place is cute. Very difficult to see the menu. You have to have a good eyes to see. I ordered panini ham and cheese but was just toasted bread with salty ham and crem cheese. No what I accept. Less attitude from the young worker will be plus!

Excellent coffee. Really, one of the better cups Ive had. Smooth, hint of sweet, and really interesting latte flavors. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is great. Perfect for meeting for coffee, studying, or working (my occasion for this visit).

Always nice staff. Delicious baked goods, I recommend the avocado banana muffin. The Ginger Chai—best chai ever! I recommend it iced. It needs to stay on the board permanently!
