Went for the first time on a recommendation. Arrived at 4:30 pm on a Saturday. Walked out with beef short ribs which I had never made before. They were AWESOME! A rich meaty flavor and juicy. Cant wait to go back!

Would highly recommend this farm to table meat market in downtown Plainfield. They have a wide variety of steaks, pork, sausages and much more. Last time we tried pork chops for the grill and I was definitely able to tell the difference between fresh farm to table vs main chain store bought. They have a couple different types of bacon that are thick and tasty. Every time Ive been there, staff have been very friendly and helpful when picking out cuts of meat.I found out this is a family run business and they have farms an hour or so out west I believe. Getting meet once a week from here stimulates local business because lets face it, most of us dont want to buy steaks from Walmart the rest of our lifes.Try the thick cut bacon and pork chopsCHEERS!!

Ive been buying meats from Farmer Mike for several years now. So happy that they now have their own butcher shop with a fantastic selection,My favorite for large family gatherings is the fresh ham, pictured below. Cured and smoked myself, its amazing!Last week I bought some pork chops cut extra thick and they were awesome. The butcher and employees are super friendly and helpful.

Just moved to Plainfield and so excited to try out this small business local butcher. Got a couple of boneless ribeyes today and blown away how well they grilled up and eaten. Cant wait to try the petit sirloin as well tomorrow.....Definitely will be back.

I’ve been going for a few months now—started bc I wanted to support small businesses, but their meat will have me going back as long as I live in the area. It’s phenomenal. I thought I was just mediocre at the grill until I changed to their meat. I’ve purchased several cuts of beef, lamb, and chicken— it’s all fantastic. Truly can tell the difference in buying from a small and proud family butcher.

I have loved everything I got from them. I do love to support this family business that raise their own meat on their local family farm, which is aged 30 days and they display it with such enticement. The meat does speak for itself. You have to try the soups too!

Got to speak with the owner this past week at the car show and learned some more about the new shop! Didn’t know that all of the meat came directly from his farm to the shop! Can’t wait to try some farm fresh meat in the very near future! Owner was very friendly and helpful with questions. Also the in house butcher knows about cuts of meat I’ve never even heard of! Today I found my new butcher shop local family business... I called hufendick this morning to see if they would cut a loin I purchased not only did they cut it perfectly and air seal every steak but while I was was there I checked out their selection of meats and other local products and also made some new friends... very knowledgeable and friendly staff I will definitely be back and highly recommend them to all friends and family...SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!!🇺🇸

I love these guys. I wont go anywhere else. They raise everything they have behind the counter themselves. Call ahead and ask if they have what you need. This is an amazing family farm shop. They dont always have everything, but what they do have is the best. Plan ahead a little bit and ask when stuff you want is coming in. If you deep freeze their meat like I do youll be very happy when you grill a steak 6 months later and it is still fantastic.

Very good meat and nice people. I was a butcher for 5 years and like to think I know quality meats. Most meat markets use the same distributors for meat that Jewel or Meijer use. Not this place. Good old fashioned meat market. You should want to know what you are putting in your body. Here, you do.

Staff is always friendly and courteous. My 4 year old usually goes with me and they always talk to him as well and tell him he can play with the trucks. Ive even called ahead for some items and they were ready for me the next day.

Best butcher shop around the Plainfield area without a doubt!

Went there on Sunday to pick up a few filet mignons. Grilled the steaks to medium well and they were tender and delicious.The people working there were knowledgeable and friendly. The gentleman behind the counter was actually the farmer that raised the cattle and you could tell he was proud of the food he was selling. Maybe he was the owner of the store?We will definitely come back for more food from there. Keep up the good job!!

I refuse to shop for meat anywhere else after getting meat from here. Their meat comes from their own farm so you know where it comes from. Best meat mart ever!

Great little butcher shop with top quality meats. The farm fresh eggs, savory bacon, and philly cheesesteak brats are my favorites. The chicken actually tastes like chicken unlike the supermarket kind that has lost its flavor in the past 10 yrs. Ive tried many different types of their uniquely seasoned sausages, theyve all been amazing! A nice selection of frozen bone broth & soups that are homemade. It reminds me of how shopping used to be back when you knew your butcher and grocer 😁

Great price on marrow bones and the owner is very nice. I will definitely be back. 10/10 would recommend.Also, while I didnt buy them this time, the steaks looked absolutely amazing and Ill be back to give those a try next time!

Best pork you can possibly buy - owners/employees are just as great.Beef jerky and fresh chicken is outstanding.

I highly recommend this place they have the best Italian sausage the best Italian beef and the Ribeyes are incredible. Everything is natura,l organic and non-GMO. They do not use steroids or hormones on their cattle. So you are getting the very best of taste.

Stopped in for the first time after years of wanting to. Bought a few different selections. The bratwurst was fantastic. The marinated angus steak was the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. Can not believe we waited this long to stop in. Looking forward to many years of better than restaurant quality meats!

Got a Thanksgiving turkey from here and it was great. I smoke a Turkey for Thanksgiving and Id say this year it came out the best, maybe due to the high quality meat. The turkey was well cleaned with zero odor and had all the feathers and quills completely removed. If you have ever tried removing leftover quills yourself you know why this is important. While I was at the store I sampled some of their gravy and stuffing. I wasnt planning on buying any but it was so good I couldnt resist. I also noticed they had dry aged steaks. So excited to go back and try some of these tempting meats! Their berkshire pork is good, I made some pulled pork from it that was amazing.

I went here for the first time ever yesterday after my mom bragged about their hamburger tasting the same quality of when she was a kid.We walked in the store wearing ours masks due to covid-19. The first thing I noticed is none of the front staff were wearing masks and the first thing immediately a staff member said was I had to wait for her to be done in the cooler bc she had an order she was gathering up for a customer who orders a lot. I didnt mind really bc I needed time to look. Other than that the rest of the staff seemed really friendly but honestly almost over informative telling us a lot about everything. I really do respect the quality of the meat and all the work they do on their farm. However, I must touch on two things that I was taken back by. Currently we are in the middle of covid-19. Sure everyone has their own opinions about the pandemic and protective measures... but the team member that had been getting the cooler order ready next approached me offering me hand sanitizer (although I had not touched anything yet) ...i put out my hand thinking she was going to squirt the bottle onto my hand. She instead took her hand that had some in it and used her hand to apply it onto my hand. In normal world I wouldnt have thought anything of that but in right nows times it was a no no for me. I didnt say thing but washed my hands as soon as I got home. More importantly, none of the staff up front were wearing masks. The super friendly butcher was talking to us while weighing ground beef, he was not wearing gloves and was touching the ground beef using bare hands to pat it together and shape it on the scale with bare hands ...he also wasnt wearing a mask. I hate to sound ungrateful for all the hard work I know they do but the bottom line is as a first time customer I couldnt wait to get out of there. As we left the sanitizer lady handed me a disinfectant wipe telling me to use it in my car when I got in it, at the same time I noticed she had a runny nostril and had been the one to slap the hand sanitizer on my hand. :/ I honestly felt very confused... like the staff didnt seem to be taking precautions for themselves to wear masks or gloves in touching meat but they were all over me trying to sanitize me who is wearing a mask! Seriously,...If they do not want customers inside, which is how I felt...then they should make it online ordering only. LOL all I can say is it felt really WEIRD, almost offensive... thats all.

First time trying and I have to say everything we got was delicious. We had venison brats, buffalo burgers and Italian beef. Very friendly owner and we will definitely go back!

Very helpfull and friendly butcher, i asked him about suggestions and mentioned beef fat to make sausages he disappeared and came back with a bag of beef fat which he gave me for free! I cant speak on the quality of their meat but their customer service and selection of meat is lacking. I asked for a specific cut of meat and was talked down to as if I didnt understand what I was looking for.
