Everyone is so nice in the store. I didnt realize they closed at 8:00 p.m. on Sundays. Im shopping away, this young gentleman walks up and says can I help you? I replied no Im just wandering. he said OK, just wanted to let you know were closed. I was like oh my gosh! Even at check our young girl was so nice about everything. thank you!
The staff are all ways a great help. With finding items that I need and are not sure where they are at in the store. Some staff will tell me where they are and some will stop what they are doing and take me to what Im looking for. They will look up for me as well if they dont have the item Im looking for is out there and look up to find me another menards store that carries the item if cant find it in a near by other store they will offer to order it for me. Then give me the option of where Id like it to be delivered.
Menards is a great place to find almost anything. But the guy in the bin area was so rude that I had to tell him he was being rude.The bins were under the wrong sale sign, but the nice manager lady did honor it.But the store is clean just got to maneuver around for whatever youre looking for. I would highly recommend this store or Crest Hill, Illinois.
Went into Menards this evening to pick up a few things. We were greeted going in and asked several times by employees walking through the aisles if there was any help we needed. Its so nice to know the help is there if you need it without having to look for it. The cashier (whose name I wish I remembered) was also very friendly.
So unhappy, I have developed some major pain in my knees that prevents me from walking too much. I had to park on the exit sde to shorten my trip. I went to check out at the returns area and was told I had to go to the front. I have had some returns and turned around and paid for stuff. Fix this issue. Its so unfortunate that I had to leave my big purchase because they wouldnt help me
I don’t know what happened with menard, but it’s no more possible to return new items back(never used item which was purchased 3weeks ago). Power generator has oil leak after I pour it first time and they don’t wanna give me new one or simply return it. Menard is ready to pay for reparation(brand new generator) but I need personally go to service shop (lost my fuel,time...)

Ordered a deck, the parts list was wrong canceled and reordered, they again screwed it up, then only partially refunded the money. Easily the worst place to shop for home improvement, ironically I was ordering a kitchen this week too. Guess who got that business? It sure wasnt the Plainfield menards. Oh and while trying to straighten it all out I got hung up on 4 times and wasted almost 2 hours of my life.
They all are a great help. Found what I needed with no issues. Got all my questions answered. I will definitely return.
The store itself is always intimidating, but the staff in Plainfield is great at making you feel at home and quickly catering to your needs. Not only do they go out of their way to make Sure youre taken care of, but they are also knowledgeable.Thanks guys!
My father had an unfortunate experience. He came in for a special order with the paper and the manager told Him that he has to go and pick everything himself. A friendly worker found it unusual and when he checked the order he found it and helped him to get to it. It shouldn’t have been that hard for my dad to pick up a order.

General manager would not price mat h Ho.e depot because he said it wouldnt make business sense. Litteraly told me Home depot gets the 3/4 pvc schb40 for cheaper than them so he cant beat their price.
Do not buy anything from Menards. They never say anything about their product return policies at the time of your purchase and they do not take it back when you return with all kind a unknown reasons, even if you have your receipt on your hand. Shop somewhere else who has got more integrity and respect towards your finances

I love this store! No matter what Im looking for, if I cant find it, theres always somebody around to help! Truly one of the best serving staffs I have ever encountered in a big box chain! And to top it off, they have great competitive prices.
Ive been a Menards Plainfield for over 3 years. Yesterday was the first time I had experience with the Customer Center for a high value product. It was by far the worse experience I have ever had with a department store.The front desk helper gave me the wrong answers, and I asked to talk with the manager, she came few minutes later and was rude, and was not interested to listen me. After I ask to talk with store manager or Menards 0800 number and I decided to say would open a credit card dispute. She was unpolite but finally listen me however, showed no intension to help me, asking to looking for help outside of store before I return the item.Long short, I have to drive 10Mi round trip and paid $10 for a specialist survey document, to prove a brand new item and never used was broken.When I return she was reluctant to accept the document from a repair shop they sent me.If you are looking for a light bulb, go forward, but never, ever look for high value item in this store. The Customer Service is horrible!

Great service, great prices! At this Menards specifically they have some great experienced employees that have a lot of knowledge about their departments. They are able to help you with questions about your specific project as well as quickly and efficiently help you find things in the store. They are also handling the pandemic very well, requiring masks and social distancing in store.

I could not find someone that could find a particular item that I thought should be easy. I was there at 630am so there was not a lot of cusirmers in the store but still noone took the time to actually help me.Usually it is a great experience but lacking today.

Well lit, clean and some essential items on sale
Didnt ask for help and didnt bother anybody. I had over $800 in my carts when I went to the wall coverings department to grab a brochure for minwax stain and an associate came and told me to put on a mask. She went out of her way to come over and harass me. I was social distanced from everybody.This resulted in the end of my shopping trip at Menards and will finish at Home Depot, where I am not harassed by the employees.
They are improving their customer service, finally. Im starting to see the younger associates providing better service. One of them actually looked up an item for me and told me what other stores had in their inventory. 😀
Returns are easy here. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful. My only gripe is that wood is scarce but I know theres nothing they can do because the saw mills have been shut down.

Ive been coming to Menards for just about everything since they were in the old Kmart on Ogden. I must go to the place everyday for some project or other. Another thing is that their Workforce and other brands are low-priced and surprisingly good quality. They also have snacks, food and the best prices on pet supplies and food. My number-one go-to hardware store.

Normally good, today not so good. I needed paint and the paint attendant was busy mixing paint. I stood in front of the paint mixing booth for a long time and was never even acknowledged. I came back twice since I had other things to shop for. The third time I came back, the attendant said my paint was ready. I hadnt even spoken with them yet, the paint was for a different customer. Obviously, I was more memorable than the customer that had asked for the paint since I had waited at the booth for so long.On previous occasions visiting this store, the store employees have always been very attentive. This is my reason for leaving three stars instead of less.

Worst experience ever. It was my first time making a large purchase front entry door from menards at Plainfield which cost me around $1k After installing the door and paying $500 to the contractor for installation, I decided to paint the door which was also purchased FROM MENARDS. Turns out so called paint expert gave me a wrong paint(indoor paint). Which ended up messing up my whole door. I then went back to menards and told the paint department manager about it. Menards Manager Colton then decided to replace my door because it was a mistake by THEIR OWN EMPLOYEE for giving me a wrong paint. I again had to pay $100 to the contractor to put the second door for me. At that time store manager Colton told me I will be reimbursed either through my menards credit card refund, or through check etc.After getting the second door installed and paying the contractor again, Menards then told me that they messed up AGAIN and did not refund my previous door in their system which was preventing them to give me my $100 back. So because of their mistake second time I got screwed over and they refuse to give me my $100 back. On TOP OF THAT, store manager Colton instead of accepting his mistake tells me that I should have done my own research on paint before purchasing it hes expecting a customer who has no knowledge of paint to come in the store well researched because apparently his employees dont know what they are doing. So ita customers job to know what paint they exactly need. Then maybe you should fire your employees and yourself as well for blaming the customer.Will never ever shop at Plainfield IL Menards again. I have contacted the corporate office and complained about Managers behavior.

I contacted this store in regards to cabinet handles that were not available in my area. The young man that answered the phone was very pleasant to speak with. He went out of his way to see that I got the handles we needed. His name was A.J. and I think the manager of this store should know that he has a very good employee. We live about 4 hours away and our stores dont have this type of employees in all stores here. Would like to thank you him for all his help.

I purchased a microwave here which unfortunately was missing all of the mounting equipment and the center piece which rotates the plate. AJ, the cabinetry and appliance manager, was extremely helpful in ensuring I received these parts and provided updates along the way. Very pleased with my experience.
Really nice store well organized. Some staff members look grumpy but they will help you. For a five star rating you should not be asking them. They should ask if they can help you find something. Like target!
This is my second and last time here. Both times I received no assistance. Whatever happened to Do you need any help? I found them to be rude. Will go elsewhere even though other hardware stores are farther away..

Purchased blinds from menards and had them cut to the dimensions we wanted. Brian helped us and he did great. Would recommend to anyone!
