Do not rent from here! Rented a van for 6 hrs returned early. Van had 22k miles on it but was filthy and smelled of urine.Was charged a bogus cleaning fee and employee turned his name badge around and waved a wooden stick at me when trying to escalate to their manager. (Literally this happened)Corporate then refunded and a week later location manager forced them to reverse the refund. Stuck with a fee for a van I cleaned with a commercial blower.The worst of the worst.

Completely wasted our time and money, told us we could pick up our 20 box truck at 2:15. We got there and were told it should be coming in any minute now. 45 minutes later they call the person who has our truck to find out they are in Washington DC. And the nearest truck that would work for us is in Windsor NY. Pathetic, dont waste your time or resources. Is everyone in Pittsfield high on fentynol? Dont go here.

Very poor customer service -- you have to wonder if the company is failing. Under-staffing is probably the main problem, with low staff morale stemming from that. Horrible implementation of modern technology on top of poor service model. I would expect that a competent, well-capitalized company such as HD or Loews could put these guys out of business overnight if this market were attractive to them.

Bottom Line: Avoid this location. Rent elsewhere. Save yourself the stress and go with a company that honors your agreement, sends all info in receipts, has much nicer employees, and won’t ruin your rental the day before your move. If you’re in Pittsfield, go with Penske right down the road, literally 2 minutes away.—————————————————I just had an extraordinarily horrible experience with Uhaul. I went into Pittsfield Uhaul to look into buying extra supplies for my upcoming move. I thought hey while I’m here let me check with an employee about concerns I have with my reservation. The employee at this location who made this a horror story interrupted my convo with his coworker and started dismissing me at every turn. He proceeded to lie to my face saying there was nothing he could do, that he had other customers, and changed my contract for my truck rental I made 2 weeks ago. Everything was wrong; price, time for rental, etc. AND this is after I had finalized everything with a great guy named Dylan at Uhaul’s main line over the phone per procedure.I managed to reach Dylan again after I saw everything with my reservation was changed. Dylan was helpful, remembered me and my previous quote/terms (hundreds of dollars cheaper) and confirmed the Pittsfield employee tampered with my reservation.Ultimately I canceled the truck because the risk was too high. I reserved with Penske for a bit more money and have no regrets. Penske was so professional and they will have my loyalty from now on.I’ll be speaking with the manager at Pittsfield to report the employee who sabotaged my rental. And I got proof, screenshots, and notes from Dylan. Furthermore, I’ll be discussing with them what we can do moving forward, because we’re going to be moving our storage locker we’ve rented for years from Uhaul to another company.

Good luck trying to call and get ahold of anybody at this location. I have called 4-5 times over a few days and wait on hold for 20-30 minutes before hanging up. If I call any other u-haul they answer immediately...somethings not right at this particular location.

Although my experience wasnt horrible (it wasnt great either) I did witness another customer not being treated well. There was a middle aged woman in front of me in line and the employee behind the counter was very rude to her. She was asking a question and he responded so fast and was mumbling that the woman could not understand him, when she asked to repeat his answer he replied even faster and very rudely. Then as I was filling the UHaul with gas at the Shell station next door to UHaul, a different lady (who had rented a truck) came up to me and asked me if the employees were rude to me like they were to her. I couldnt believe it. All these complaints about rude staff may indicate that they need to seek more help or offer training to staff on how to speak to people.

Horrible customer service. Staff not only gave us misinformation about what type of vehicle we could rent, but they were incredibly rude and unprofessional. We told them we had to run down the street to the bank and would be right back, we were gone maybe 5 minutes and we came back to sign on the door saying they would be back in 30 minutes, the door was locked but staff was clearly inside. If you’re looking to rent a uhaul I strongly recommend the Auto Tech place a few minutes down the street, still on W. Housatonic. Staff is very helpful at that location.

Poor Customer Service - I waited 20 minutes for the guy to come into the store to help me. He was too busy standing around outside chatting with his buddy about something unrelated to the job. When I finally asked for help, he was rude about it. Afterwards, I saw a tiny, elderly lady waiting for help inside at the desk. Instead of helping her he went back outside to chat more to his friend. When I walked to my car I asked him if he was going to go inside and help her and he said, she can wait. He was not doing anything productive at the time. That bothered me more than anything. I wont be going back there unless its necessary.

Justine was amazing. I live in a remote location with difficult accessibility by large vehicles. Justine (and Jim) worked with me to find a solution and get my Uhaul containers delivered. I couldnt have asked for better service. A big thanks to both of them!

Great new location outside of Pittsfield. The location is very large and offers a wide variety of moving solutions from furniture pads to boxes for TVs and fragile glassware. I rented furniture pads from this location and was very pleased with my experience. The equipment was clean and well kept and the rental process was very easy. I will definitely be coming back to this location again for all my moving needs. Highly recommended.

Usually Great, today was very disappointing. Area Field Manager Mr. JAMES NOBLE refused to call me a taxi upon my returning rental. After waiting 45 minutes while Mr Noble chit chatting with a non buying customer, Mr Noble said to me not to give him a hard time or he would throw me out. How is that for a regular returning monthly customer? Flabbergasted that James Noble the Field Manager was so very rude and unprofessional.

TERRIBLE. Made a reservation early, picked up the truck and the guy at the front desk told us the truck was dirty and he hadn’t cleaned it yet but we could still use it if we wanted. When turning in truck for the night, I checked out 1/4 of a mile down the road and was charged a 25$ service fee because I wasn’t “On property” when I checked out. When reaching out to “the owner” of the store, she was rude and told me she couldn’t do anything about it. Will never rent from this location again and I advise anyone to do the same.

Justine is amazing! I’ll admit: I was an annoying customer who had to change out a truck and add insurance, but she went through the trouble of helping me without making me feel like the annoying customer I knew I was, lol. Consider this review to be six stars.

Depends who actually helps you. First time, pretty great service. Friendly and fast, lots of info, walked me to the truck, nice chit-chat, reasonable prices. Second time - ugh. I had such an unpleasant time with the manager. Would NOT actually show me which pick-up truck was rentable. And she was argumentative, rude, lied about U-Haul rules, heck even she smoked a cig in my face. Why the attitude? Hopefully, the manager Ms. Dus will be out next time.

The service was terrible . We booked a truck 10 days in advance then were told that they did not have a truck 2 days before we were moving that they did not have a truck and that we would have to travel 1 hour away to pick it up and if we canceled we would have to pay a 50.00 fee for canceling. We were offered no other options. The rep, Erica, I am not sure this is her real name refused to let us speak to anyone else and would not tell us where she was calling from, had such an attitude. We asked to speak to customer service and were told They will just send you back to talk to me.This is a terrible way of doing business, if they did not have a truck available someone should have contacted us earlier so that we could have sought other options.The stress and discomfort added to our family due to this company,s incompetence and rudeness is unconscionable, my daughter had recently been severely burned and were moving her the lack of a truck caused our family unnecessary added stress .When people are moving there is already a high level of stress, this company just increases the stress and concerns unnecessarily and with no regard to their customers needs .

Units Flood.Their units are in a flood zone and water damages are not covered under uhauls insurance policy. We were devastated to have been reassured that the flooding had been resolved and to be called only two months in to renting to find most of our furniture had been soaked and was unsalvageable. We felt that our damages were insignificant to management when they offered to rent us a van to move what little we had left and essentially told us we were SOL with the damages.If you chose to rent here be sure to have separate renters/homeowners insurance that covers water damage as well as ensuring that your items are raised at least 4 inches from the bottom of your unit. Best of luck.
