Very pricey wish theyd have some things that are a little more affordable sometimes....but if you do pay the extra $$$ its always worth it cause you get quality also....and thats why I always give Carr H a 4&5 star review...never will you need to search for help very long and you get what you pay for!!

Good hardware store most of the employees are very well informed on the products unlike home depot you can actually talk to some one with knowledge on the items you are looking for have everything for plumbing electric powered tools paint slightly more expensive but worth it

As Property Manager for a local Property Management company, I cant overstate my gratitude for this local hardware store, (they also have an excellent new outfit in Lenox!). Yes, it is possible to save some small amount of money by going to Home Depot, and yes the megastore will have more selection than this place. However, as someone with properties on the west side, I can tell you this business is a pilar bearing up and holding down this part of town and helping our city to weather this terrible storm we are all in. Please support this place, please buy locally.

There is no place like Carr Hardware store. They actually help you find what you need and will give you advice if you need it. That doesnt happen at the big box store and in addition, prices are competitive and reasonable.

I needed a replacement peice of hardware and the staff were very friendly and helpful as soon as I walked through the door. Not only did they have the peice I was looking for, I didnt have to spend an hour looking for it as the staff just looked at it and went and grabbed it for me.

This is my go to hardware store. Recently I had 2 pieces of glass cut as I was making 2 custom sized small storm windows. Long story short; I made & primed the frames, bedded the glass, glazed, primed and painted everything. As I was cleaning the glass before installation, I couldnt get 1 pane of glass clean. It was then I realized that pane was plexiglass. You have GOT to be kidding me.....

Carr hardware can be a pinch more expensive than home depot but what your getting for that price is a convenient location, and most of all, helpful staff. Something a big business can hardly supply.

Staff was excellent

Walked downstairs and heard an associate telling a customer he could find workers south or the border. I spoke to the manager on duty and he said they would provide sensitivity training. Im not going there again. Otherwise great customer service.

Went to buy 2 hats and was assaulted by the manager who apparently thought the hat in my pocket was his. So what he thought he would do was reach over the counter and rip my own hat out of my pocket as I was buying the 2 hats from the store.Its obvious this guy has a serious mental disorder. He needs to be removed A.S.A.P. before he really hurtssomeone. Totally uncalled for and unprofessional. Court will be coming.

Worthless repair service. I dropped off a window screen for repair, I was told it would be ready by Monday (this was on the previous Saturday) it wasnt ready until that coming Saturday and when I got the screen, it broke before the guy could hand it over to me.

I needed some plumbing fittings and I called them first to make sure they had them. The man at the plumbing department assured me that he had them so I drove there to get them. They did not have them and whoever I talked to wasnt there or didnt admit his mistake.I have had positive experiences with them previously but this time turned me off. I cant trust the them anymore.

Service was great at first but when attempting to return items their attitude was condescending and rude. Theyre expensive-overpriced to begin with also.

We had a great experience with a salesman named Cooper. We were looking for a new snowblower and had our minds made up on an Ariens 30” Deluxe model. They have saved my rear end on multiple occasions! Great resource and advice for anything having to do with your home and they are patient when you are at your wits end on a DIY project.

My mother-in-law took her 3, 18 inch chainsaw blades to the Pittsfield location to have them sharpened. They charged her for 21 inch chains, and gave her back 2 of the wrong chains.She took the chains back to Carr and explained that the chains could not be hers, she ONLY had black 18 inch chains, not silver 20+ inch chains. The people at Carrs insisted that these were the chains she gave them, and vaguely promised to check into the misding chains, but assured her that those were the chains she gave them. They did not try and cooperate to fix their mistake, so now shes out $60+ because not only did she have to pay for the wrong chains but she had to go out and replace the chains that Carr Hardware lost.I recommend not going to them for getting chainsaw chains sharpened. They might lose yours too.
