Always wondered about how the food at this place was. While on jury service I stopped in for lunch and ordered the Appollo Gyro. It came out super fast and tasted great! The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping in for lunch.

Fine experiences, multiple visits. Its so rare to find a non-pretentious place with REAL food, not the modern bullcrap. Its no frills - but very clean, cozy, and nice and cold inside. Food - all on point each visit. Sandwiches, fruits, all fresh, all very well made, and very reasonable prices. The lady who owns/runs it is hands-on and heart and soul of the place. Not my cup of tea, shes got a bit of an attitude that is just too politically incorrect for me to describe properly... but seems her long term customers like her, and in the end - we dont go there to socialize we go for great food so for that reason - I have to give 5 stars. I also respect - no credit cards. -- she keeps costs down, bravo. Many eateries let credit cards, apps, delivery services make the profit, while they slave away making food - -I respect this woman for keep her business her OWN, and therefore being able to keep things simple, fresh, tasty, and reasonable. Wish them well and by the looks of things, theyll continue to do just fine.

A really neat spot for breakfast. We were there only once and learned to order from the group in front of us. Its not large, its not fancy, its not a chain restaurant.. Its better than an old fashioned home cooked meal. I really enjoyed the potatoes and eggs. Note: cash only

Food is delicious for a great price!! They are very friendly there. Listening to her interact with other customers, you can tell they take time to get to know the people who frequently stop in. Service is quick and accurate.If you like breakfast sandwiches, the Apollo sandwich they have was wonderful. The window seat is very nice for people watching too hahaThe only thing to note would be that they dont take card. There is an ATM nearby though. If you dont usually carry cash, its definitely worth it to have some with you and stop in there for a bite to eat!!!

About 2 1/2 weeks ago we had to go into Pittsburgh It was early so I asked a policeman where is a good place to eat breakfast and he answered Appolo on Forbes. We were looking at the menu on their window to see what they served and a lady told us their food is delicious. We followed her into the restaurant and we each ordered a western omelet which came with potatoes and toast and our drinks. The service was quick and the food was delicious. The employees were personable and helpful. We sent our compliments to the cook and she came out and spoke with us. This is a great restaurant and we will be back.

Good classic cafe and breakfast, loved the potatoe hash, and loved the price, she said $6.96 and I almost questioned her since I had breakfast meal and coffee but that was accurate. They just have very affordable prices.

Nice little tucked away cafe. I ordered the Gyro and the pita it came on was extremely hard and brittle. I could not fold it with out it cracking and crumbling. Everything inside was delicious. Make sure you take cash they are cash only. There is an ATM outside.a

The ladies at the Apollo are great. They take time to remember faces and names. Also hands down the best place to get soup. Don’t miss out on the place!

Had the BEST sandwich today. Turkey Reuben-never have I had a sandwich that tasted better. the bread it was on was an excellent choice. Always a positive experience. Very reasonably priced and the owners are just kind, hardworking people. Highly recommend!

Wouldn’t come again. Food was mediocre and service attendants had clear attitude if you not a regular. My biggest pet peeve, it’s clearly a pandemic. The little bit of eating out is a privilege. A patron was coughing up a storm with no mask on. Not once did any employee speak up. She is a regular and you can tell by the way the staff is interacting with her. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Lady is coughing loudly, spraying it everywhere, then cough in her hand, and then putting her hand on the table. That alone I would prefer to not come back.

The food is amazing and the owner is so kind and welcoming! Every time I go in she asks me about my migraines which shows me she really cares and listens to her customers... next time you go in make sure you get the tomato basil soup. Although you’ll be very happy with whatever you order the tomato basil soup will hook you for life!

Went to this place for the first time ever last week. I love working downtown, so many different restaurants. I went with my coworker who is vegetarian, she chose this place because it looked to be a Mediterranean menu. We both love Mediterranean food. We went and I was surprised by how much was on the menu. There are all types of food, mainly American and Mediterranean dishes. Very extensive menu.We both found some great stuff. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and a side of a chicken penne cheese salad. Both were so good. Also grabbed a cookie, you can tell its homemade and it was very good. the whole place has a very homey feel and its really cute inside.

Great soups, unusual salads, good sandwiches. They also make a nice quiche. Family owned and a staple of the downtown lunch trade for decades.

Best breakfast in town! Always fresh, hot and made to order! Nothing microwaved. Exceptional service. Never have to wait more than 10 minutes. If youre looking for a decent meal to start the workday, skip the crappy overpriced bagel joints or fast food. You wont be disappointed. But bring cash! Cards not accepted here. But definitely worth it.

I love this place. The owners are so nice and always have a smile on their faces. They are a Mediterranean restaurant that welcomes you in and serves you quick. They have the best breakfast and lunch and no matter what you are served high quality food for a reasonable price. Cash only cafe located in the heart of downtown. The wedding soup was delicious and hearty. The Italian bread was the best bread I have had in ages. Staff were efficient and it only took me a minute to be served. The restrooms are right outside of the cafe in the building, but you need to get a key from the register area. This is a great place to pop in for delicious food in a hurry.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch outdoors in the cafe. It was beautiful setting to enjoy a lunch with my coworker. The menu offered unique seasonal items that would certainly appeal to anyone. They also offer vegan and gluten free items clearly marked on their daily menus. Our server was friendly and attentive.

WARNING! CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! Besides the CASH ONLY policy, it is a nice charming place with good food and good staff. Prices are very reasonable for what they offer. They need to understand we are in 2017 and having an ATM to steal $1.75 from you to use cash to pay for your bill is not something customers are looking for anymore.

Absolutely delicious! Tucked away in the middle of downtown, its an easy spot to miss. I know I passed by their familiar sign many times before finally going in. With a wide range of sandwich options and various pasta dishes to choose from, I know Ill be coming back!

Just bad. Granted, its a quick and cheap lunch spot - but I rather go hungry than eat this food again. I ordered a water, and Reuben with fries. Both sides of the Reubens bread were wet, sauerkraut tasted like it came straight from the can (not drained or rinsed), and the water had little black specs from not keeping the ice maker clean.

This place is cute and old school. Pricing is great and service is great, but I would prefer to pay more for better ingredients and supplies. Styrofoam cups just arent okay any more. Bathroom situation is pretty weird FYI.

Amazing diner, I’ve been here only 3 times but every meal has been amazing and the staff is always very welcoming. It’s at a convenient location, close to multiple universities and in the middle of downtown, so if you’re ever in the area looking for a nice lunch for affordable prices, Apollo’s is the place to go.

Very solid. Not amazing but very good and a great price for what you get. I can totally see why people come here often. I had the quiche and a side of bacon. Quiche was solid, bacon... yeah not the best but ar least there was a lot and it wasnt to pricey
