I always love working with Jess, she makes the process as painless as possible! Also, having the opportunity to work with Andrew; testing cars, going through the different trims, and features of the cars was helpful! The whole team was knowledgeable and friendly! Already looking forward to purchasing car #4 from this team!
Would give zero stars if I could. Asked them to not do the service they quoted. They mentioned they would call to return my vehicle when “ready”. No call returned and service center is now closed. Sales was no help and just wanted me to call tomorrow morning. Vehicle has been there 2 full days now. I’m supposed to be out of town by now. Never do any business with these unhelpful people!
Our experience buying a car with South Hills Volkswagen was amazing and thats due to Sierra Davis in sales. I called every Volkswagen dealership around and no one was as kind, caring, thoughtful and professional as Sierra was on the phone with me. She took the time to listen to what we were exactly looking for and what I would be trading in. After she knew what we were looking for she told us, She would find us one AND SHE DID!!!!! She found us exactly what we were looking for and more!!!! Weve never had an experience buying a car that was so easy and not stressful at all. Working with Sierra on purchasing our Tiguan is unforgettable! We will definitely 100% tell anyone we know looking for a car to call Sierra Davis at South Hills Volkswagen!! Thank you again so much Sierra for everything!!! #1 Cochran Volkswagen of South Hills is extremely lucky to have Sierra Davis as their employee!
I have been looking for a car for a few months because my last lease was up. Every dealer I called just didnt seem to care, they didnt want to answer questions, they never even bothered to respond to my emails or phone calls. Then I called Sierra Davis and she was amazing to work with, always quick to respond to questions and always followed up with things when I asked her something she didnt know off the top of her head. She even went out of her way to help me drop off my other car at a different dealership. The rest of the Cochran people were really great to work with but Sierra was EXCELLENT, highly recommended.
We have been customers of this dealership for many, many years and I have never been so disappointed in a company in my life. My husband drives a Golf R and had a nail in his front tire. We made an appointment to get all new tires, they kept the car all day and never touched it. We tried again a week or so later and they again kept the car all day and never touched it. They actually made a joke that the tire sales started the next day so it was a good thing. I called Justin Hergenroeder, the Service Manager, and left a relatively clam voicemail message that we have had a relationship with Cochran VW for a very long time and I wanted to give him the opportunity to work through this with us. He never returned my call. It is abundantly clear that their Service Department has absolutely no concern for the customer or for their safety. I made an appointment at NTB this week. They were very helpful and nice.
As a big account, would think that my experience would be more abbreviated and easier than others. After having 3 separate people call for a wheel lock for a vehicle, no one would be helpful. Kept stating that ownership documents had to be provided and set a service appointment, despite no other dealership in the area having this same policy. A service appointment would be 2 weeks away. Left a voicemail for the service manager stating that it was imperative I get ahold of him to speak about our continued business relationship. No call back. Unfortunately, I will be moving our business elsewhere due to the lack of professionalism and courtesy.
Nothing but problems getting a car serviced. Why make an appointment in the morning if another walk in at noon will get priority? Dropped the car off at 0830 in the morning and at 6p (closing time) still no update on the car we brought in 8+ hours earlier despite multiple attempts to get an update. After multiple phone calls that were no help as they were constantly redirected to a voicemail, the frustration is unending and we still have no idea when we can pick up the car thereby affecting our schedules. The lack of communication is appalling and frustrating considering the “positive” reviews. Don’t get your car serviced here. Go literally anywhere else.
My car was dropped off the night before for a 7:30am recall service the next morning. When I went to pick up the car after it was finished it took at least 20 minutes to locate where my keys or even the car were by two different employees AND at one point was even handed someone elses car keys to a white jetta and told to have a good day and sent off with keys i knew didnt look like mine, plus, mine is gray…So needless to say just have better management of where you place people vehicles and their car keys. I get accidents happen but there was no apology even for this inconvenience.
Called multiple times to schedule an appointment. They don’t even pick up their phone calls. Impossible to get a hold of them.
Buy your car here sure! But DO NOT service it here. They will charge you full price without checking if you purchased any kind of extended warranty, unless you tell them to check. I also made the appointment for brakes and rotors to be changed. Dropped off at 10:45, to be told at 2 they don’t have time to do it. The service department is a joke!
My family purchased a new 2012 GTI 4-door in 2012-2013 for $26,930 and recently discovered that the owners manual was missing pages 177-337. The manual was bound with two sets of pages 1-176 (a binding error). The dealership was unwilling send me a new manual on the flimsy reason that I did not know the name of the salesperson who sold me the vehicle and that their records did not go back that far. I was willing to send them the original vehicle sticker price tag and the defective manual for proof but to no avail.
My experience with the service department here was so poor that it compelled me to write. I dropped my car off at 9am today for an inspection, oil change, etc. By 4 PM, I had heard nothing. They close at 6 and concern was starting to set in, seeing as how I would need my car for the weekend. I called 3 times, but the service department doesnt answer their calls directly; they are transferred to an answering service. The answering service is apparently also incapable of establishing contact with their own service department and sent me to a random voicemail on every attempt. The voicemails that I left went completely ignored. I had to call the SALES department directly and plead for someone to physically walk over to service and get someone to call me (shout out to Jessica in sales for being so awesome and actually doing this - thank you!!). Finally, a person from the service dept. called back shortly after, only to say that NOTHING WAS DONE WITH MY CAR. I was told that there were some big jobs ahead of you today. Fine, Im reasonable and understand that. However, why are you not informing customers at the time of making the appointment that their car may be held after closing, without notice? I wasted almost 2 hours commuting for this. Why did they think it was not important to notify me that my car would be held overnight? People have kids and need their cars. When I arrived to pick up the car, the service rep. could not have cared any less about my predicament. I was not given so much as an apology. Needless to say, I wont spend another dime here in the future. Dont bother responding to this review, Cochran, your actions have said it all.
Would not recommend this place to anyone.! Maybe its because I live in Ohio, idk. It was simple and easy to go through the loan process and get my car.. that was great, but come time to get my plates, THERE ARE NONE.! FOUR MONTHS Ive had this car..! FOUR MONTHS AND STILL NO PLATES.! Ive Never seen such incompetence with any business.. its Ridiculous!
Sierra at Cochran in South Hills PGH was awesome to work with. She was patient, thorough and very professional. We purchased a car for our college kid and it was choosing a used car from the lot. Lots of nice inexpensive cars to choose from - clean, carfax available and opportunity to drive them. Happy with our choice. Thank you Sierra!
I had a very similar experience to Mr Peters. I scheduled and appointment to have my car inspected along with emissions. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30pm. I did have 2 lights out on my car and asked if they would be able to replace those before they do the inspection. They said it wouldn’t be a problem and they would be sure to do the lights. Actually, they said the would call once that got to my car to let me know how much the lights would be. My boyfriend was able to pick me up from the dealership in his vehicle and we went over to South Hills Village expecting it to take around 2 hours to complete the inspection. I decided to call the dealership to get an update after 2 hours and nobody answered. If you read Jonathan Peters’ review, you would see that the answering machine really doesn’t do anything and nobody ever calls you back. After trying to call again 30 minutes later with no answer we decided to head to the dealership to check ourselves. I was informed that their were still 5 cars ahead of mine. It was 4pm and the service department closes at 5. I was nervous and the man at the desk told me they’ll have it done by tomorrow morning. I told them I couldn’t leave the car their overnight and they would need to get it done today considering I dropped the vehicle off for my appointment at 1:30 and it was an inspection and lights. I stayed near the dealership until 5 and he told me it had failed the inspection. I was quite dumbfounded at this point. He told me it had passed emissions and I would need to pay for a failed inspection (understandable). He then phoned the building where they do the service across the street. It took them 20 minutes to bring my car over. The man at the service desk told me they didn’t fix the lights and the service manager left for the day “without telling anyone”. This was extremely suspicious to me. But wait! There’s more. I didn’t end up paying for the failed inspection since my car was there for about 4 hours and nothing was done (not even the emissions sticker). I was a little concerned that they hadn’t even inspected it and just failed it. I brought the vehicle to my father to have him change the lights out and put on a new wheel bearing. When he went to remove the wheels the bolts were absolutely stripped. Nothing. It took 2 hours of drilling to get the locking bolt out. Called the service department and for once someone answered!! After being on the phone for 30 minutes they agreed to give us replacement bolts. I now believe the service manager left because he didn’t want to notify anyone about the bolts. What would have happened if I got a flat tire on the side of the road? I wouldn’t be able to get the tire off and it would have needed a tow. For a flat tire!!! I am outraged by the service I received at the location and will now be going back to the Volkswagen dealership in the north hills.
Like a lot of other reviews on here, my poor experience with my entire purchase of the new vehicle, including the initial contact, purchase and service was so horrible that I have to give a one star review. I also filed a formal complaint against a Volkswagen and am considering suing them in court. Our experiences include: them breaking car parts while the car was in service; leaving me at the rental car place for almost 2 hours without ever intending to get me a rental car and I missed work; tricking me into buying a service package by exaggerating and lying about its benefits. Every single interaction I had with them made me feel that I was a causing them trouble and I felt zero respect from them. Worst dealer experience ever. Be very careful if you want to work with them. And stop trying to pretend like you care by posting a response to my review--I tried communicating with you through calling and emailing before but received 0 response.
Recently went there for an inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. Within the hour, everything was done. Exceptional and fast service! Mark H in the service department was very helpful. Highly recommend!
HOW to find the service department is difficult. I was parked in the sales parking lot, called the shop and TIM to me to go across the street, the VERY busy W Liberty Ave. So I drove across, walked in to that building and was told to go across the street to check in. I was told I could leave my car where it was. I walk in to theservice department and the man with glasses told me NO, YOU HAVE TO BRING THE CAR OVER HERE BECAUSE THE IPAD DOESNT REACH THAT FAR. What??? So I had to back my car in to the very busy W Liberty Ave to where HE was. I said, but your service department is right there. He said no, its a block away.Im going to throw thefemale at a car service department flag. The man with the glasses didnt even acknowledge me when I walked in. He just straightened his desk while I stood there. There was another customer(man) there. Maybe he thought I was with him??? Dont assume!!Not impressed with their service so far. Please dont have management respond to this post. You have my phone number. CALL ME. Reading all of yourim sorry posts, youre doing a lot of apologizing but does anything change?? Well see how long this takes. My appt was 815. Theyve taken in about 8 cars since I was here. They also want to do otherrecall work which, if I wanted it done, I would have had it done FYI. THERE ARE OTHER DEALERS IN THE AREA. Ill go there next time.
I had my mechanic drop off my car to help him diagnose what was wrong. The car was perfectly drivable when it was dropped off at the lot. I go to pick up my car 24 hours later and they made my car worse. The check engine light, the EPC light, the battery light, and my tire pressure light was on. My car was not drivable, and they knew that, BUT still gave me my keys to let me drive it off the lot. After going inside and speaking to someone, they quoted me at $1400 for a repair that I knew didnt need done. They said my battery needed replaced, when my battery was just replaced less than a year ago. This isnt the first time I dealt with this dealership, but it will be the last time. I sat there for 4 hours the first time for them to do a repair on my car, even though I made an appointment. DO NOT GO TO THEM. They made my car worse and wont take responsibility. I am still trying to figure out with my parents if I should be taking legal action since they explicitly told me yeah we knew the car isnt drivable BUT STILL GAVE ME THE KEYS TO DRIVE IT OFF OF THE LOT. Will never go back.
The task of fixing the locking mechanism was done flawlessly. I cannot believe the pricing I received for additional concerns that I had no choice but to look elsewhere. It costs 120$ just to assess the locking mechanism and an additional 120 to assess a leak in the door seal issues without doing any work. My regret is I opted to let them fix the trunk lock which cost over 800$ because I thought it was important for OEM parts. I feel swindled after having someone else take care of the other major issues for a 1/5 of the price quoted ($3500 for lock replacement, window seal fixed, brakes and rotors, and a control bushing front axle)!
In my 40K mile check they said they recommended changing my brakes for a total cost of 1,500. A year later an honest mechanic says they are half life and don’t need changed. You are supposed to trust your vw agency but they just care about sales. Beware!
I highly recommend driving as far as possible to avoid this location for service needs. I had scheduled an oil change and an inspection. This ended up taking nearly two days. There was not one ounce of communication from their team. On the second day, I had to beg the service department to tell me where my car was and if it was finished so that I could get my car back. As for the inspection - turns out there was a leak in my door. When discussing this when picking up my car, one of the service advisor accused me of leaving my window down (?!) insinuating I had caused this problem with my 2 year old car. They could not fix this door, as they had to order parts. I think it was a blessing they did not have the parts with them to fix my car - given the other reviews on here I wouldnt trust them to do it correctly or politely. If you feel like being insulted and your time wasted, this is your place.
Whatever you do, do not get service on your vehicle at this place. I usually do not complain if I have a problem, because I understand it is impossible to meet everyone’s needs, although, I cannot even describe my disappointment in Cochran with the problems I have had with my used car without having it even for a year and Cochran telling me I should have bought the extended warranty. They told me on the phone the fix would be 4k and lowered it to $2,800 because of the great inconvenience they have served to me but when I went in to pick up my car, they said the fix would be 7k. From the beginning when my car had a misfire due to the coolant leaking because they put a cracked housing in it before I bought the car, but thankfully it was under warranty then but gone for 2 weeks. I would call everyday to see when I am getting my car back and it was so hard to get anyone in the phone. They also wanted me to drive 50 min out to south hills to take my car to north hills to get faster service done. I want my car done right the first time and it to not be rushed, but just for cochran to call and let me know when it is being serviced not day after day, the customer having to contact them and them saying we have not started it yet. I get it is hard to get parts in fast but they do not sympathize with you, nor even have loaner cars available at any location. You have to call enterprise yourself and figure it out, that is even if you qualify for a rental. I was expecting an appraisal price for my car since it needs all that work, and they said they would call me next day and they never did. It is disappointing that I even spent money to deal with nothing but very poor service and a car I cannot even be confident to drive and it really shows how much they do not care about your problem and they’re just in it for the money. The customers are always right but cochran doesn’t even acknowledge the disappointment or apologize. I do not trust cochran mechanics and have heard nothing but bad reviews from people I know that work and deal with cochran. The vw specialist did not even know it was just a turbo manifold that needed replaced before I bought it and the wheel was shaking at a certain rpm. They called to let me know it came back from the auction as their specialist was wrong and it would be only a $300 fix rather then 3k. They also made sure to put the wrong gas in my tank that requires premium and they had to drain it out. Clearly, #1 Cochran is clueless regarding mechanics and very disappointing to work with. Lastly, I do not want anyone to be in the same situation I am in, so I hope this helps people as well as Cochran to realize their imperfections and make a huge improvement. Your customers concerns should be number one at Cochran, but it is obvious in the rating of both south and north hills that that is not your biggest concern.
I’ve only been in this place once, and that’s when we were picking up our newly purchased vehicle. We dealt with Justin, Caitlin and Jessica. All were very professional individuals, while still very grounded and down-to earth. If you want the best way to buy a vehicle, come see these individuals. Better-yet, call them and do everything remotely like we did. Save your valuable time and know that they’ll be honest, straightforward and treat you like you’re the only customer that matters. We came from Cleveland, OH. After giving the VW dealerships around here the opportunity to earn our business, #1 Cochran of South Hills quickly earned our respect. Their online tool shows transparency of pricing. I was able to get the best price and the best deal for my situation.Additionally, the relationship doesn’t stop there, they continue to support you and follow up with you, to make sure everything goes well. This team has re-defined car-buying and have adapted to the new ways to communicating. I highly recommend this dealership!
When they did the recall on my car they disconnected the horn....very dangerous because I didnt know right away and drove without it and I had to make another trip to get it fixed. The gentleman at the front desk is great in customer service
Had a wonder experience with the entire staff! Definitely recommend for sales and service!
We took our Routan in for routine maintenance (oil change, transmission fluid flush, change out spark plugs and filters). They determined we needed new transmission lines, as they were leaking. After a week we got the van back. As I was driving with my infant son the engine started smoking so badly that the fire chief who happens to be behind me said it would have caught fire if I hadn’t pulled over when I had. Turns out the transmission lines were not installed properly and transmission fluid sprayed all over my engine. Upon further inspection, they had not replaced the engine cover and there were tools left in the vans engine! We had it towed back to the shop, where they offered to detail the engine. After getting the van back we noticed something leaking onto our driveway, so we took the van back. It was more transmission fluid. The mechanics then said they would have to replace a panel on the transmission, which they would do for free. Once the van was back with us we started seeing electrical issues (dead battery, lift gate acting erratically). We jumped the battery twice, then opted to replace it (it was from December 2019) as it may have been damaged by the transmission fluid. Even after replacing the battery the van was dead again in a day. Jumped it and took it back to Cochran. Now after three weeks of looking it over they are claiming it’s the replacement battery that caused the problem. I have never written a nasty review in my life, but I am absolutely disgusted With how this was handled. Never did they offer me a loaner vehicle until the work was done any of the times the van had to be repaired. They still charged us $1,400 for the original maintenance and transmission lines, despite the screw up. When we pulled the 2019 battery out there was a puddle of transmission fluid underneath! DO NOT GO TO COCHRAN VW IN THE SOUTH HILLS.
I made the huge mistake of having my car towed to this service location without reading the reviews. The lack of communication, incompetence, and complete disregard for customer service that so many others have expressed, was my experience as well. After failing to start, my car was towed into the shop on a Tuesday evening for a Wednesday morning appointment. After an entire day of trying to identify the issue, I was told there was rust on the wires around the starter, but that the starter worked just fine. It would be a matter of cleaning off the rust, and I would just be responsible for the cost of labor. The next day I got another call from the shop, I was expecting them to say my car was ready, but instead I was told the starter and the starter relay failed and needed to be replaced. My car is unfortunately out of warranty, but 4 years old with 37,000 miles, things just werent adding up.I called VW customer service the following Monday and explained the situation. They got back to me on Tuesday and informed me they would cover the cost of the parts and I would be responsible for the cost of labor. I called the service center on Tuesday after speaking with customer service to give them the ok to order the parts and start the work. No one picked up, so I left a message and didnt hear back. I called again on Wednesday am, left a message telling them to order the parts and start the work, still didnt hear back. So I called and left a message for the service manager, Justin and STILL didnt hear back. I tried again on Thurs., and finally got ahold of someone. I asked for a status update on my car and they said, were waiting for you to give the ok to order the parts. After informing them I had tried to get ahold of someone several times, I let them know I had plans to travel for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend and needed my car done by Friday at the latest. I called several times on Fri. morning/afternoon and couldnt get ahold of anyone. The case manager I had been communicating with from VW customer service called me and asked if I had gotten my car back because she couldnt reach anyone in the service center either. My fiance ended up physically going there to get an update, where he was told the car would not be finished until Saturday.Super fishy, terrible communication, no respect. 1 star is too many.
Let me start with, my frustration stems from Volkswagen. Background, my wife and I went to this dealership Friday 5/7 planning to trade her Subaru for a VW Tiguan. We loved the Tiguan, but unfortunately it wasn’t big enough for our family. We test drove the Atlas, a bigger vehicle. Loved it, but couldn’t afford the top-of-the-line trim that we test drove. Test drove a base model, weren’t a fan. Joe Washington offered us an Atlas that was brought in from West Virginia for a customer that “ghosted them.” We loved it, and were prepared to purchase. We decided to trade our other vehicle, due to finances. They legally could not sell it, as they were “waiting for the title to arrive from out of state,” so they sent us home on a Dealer tag, signing no paperwork. They were very busy - they couldn’t detail it or explain the vehicle’s features - but he promised to do so when we came back to complete the paperwork.Sunday, 5/9, it was (fortunately) essentially a monsoon in western PA. Noticed the panoramic sunroof leaking out of the buttons! After hours of frantic research, realized that there are multiple recalls across VW’s lineup for leaking sunroofs. Realized there is a class action lawsuit in CA over the issue not being resolved. Learned that an individual’s VW’s electronics were fried from this issue to the point that their collision braking incorrectly activated when they were going down the highway at 70mph. Mold? Potential for my 2-year old’s neck to snap on the highway? No thanks. Silver lining, I went in Monday morning, the sales manager Jess was understanding, and the end result was simply handing my my trade-in keys back, and giving her the keys to the Atlas. My question was answered that she was aware of the recalls and class action lawsuit, but I’m beyond frustrated that the potential for a leaking sunroof was never mentioned, especially considering the vehicle we drove 1 1/2 hours to test drive in the first place also had the subject sunroof. She offered her help as well as Joe’s help to purchase another vehicle we were comfortable with. We found another vehicle we were comfortable with, just to find out we needed to completely start over the application process. A text message, email, and voicemail later, I have yet to hear back, 5 days later.I continued to attempt to find the silver lining, to trust #1 Cochran, but after purchasing a vehicle from another dealership Thursday evening that has received a 5-star, equally elaborate rating, I can honestly say that I have a hard time providing 2 stars to this dealer, beyond 1 star simply for the prompt communication and help prior to the leaking sunroof. Any feeling of being a valued customer was out the roof (pun certainly intended) the minute that sunroof leaked, and the events that followed. To be clear, this issue was 100% their problem, not mine. They chose to let me drive home on essentially an “extended test drive.” Yep, they now have a “New” vehicle with 500+ miles on it, roughly 250 of which were from delivering it from WV. Fortunately (?) I’m only out about $100 in gas and complete loss of trust for #1 Cochran.
I emailed them Sunday night. I received a response around 9-10am Monday morning. I picked the car up around 3:30pm. The car was already ready to be driven off the lot before I signed any paperwork!! Lol.Shout out to Joseph Washington, the salesman. Seemed extremely experienced and provided a lot of information on the Challenger that I purchased.Definitely a great dealership.
I inquired about the 135is as soon as it hit the site. I was over 350 miles away and could not see the vehicle for a few days. I needed to be sure of the car before I made the 5 hour trip. I requested a number of extremely specific pictures and videos that Ryan not only provided me with, but also responded within a few minutes after each request.I decided to make the trip but was set to arrive at the time the dealership closed. Ryan made sure the rest of the team knew I was on my way, and they could not close before I made it. When I arrived, 10 min after the dealership should have closed, I was greeted with nothing but smiles. Th car was cleaned thoroughly, with a full tank of gas and the finance team of Jess and Brady welcomed me as if it was the middle of the day. They even honored a glitch in price that helped me out on top of an already incredible deal. I hope the chance to purchase from Cochran again. Thanks again guys!!
They will never get my business again. Nearly every step of the process has been drenched in poor communication, and outright lies. The process started okay, the sales woman who I worked with was wonderful. She is the only reason the dealership gets any stars. But by the time I reached the finance officer things went down hill. I was sold a protection plan under false pretenses. I directly asked questions such as will this cover X and was told yes on a number of different features. The first time I went to use the plan, I was told it did not cover any number of the things I was told it would. I canceled it, but did not receive a full refund for it because part of the plan was a protecting spray they supposedly put on the car before I left and they refused to compensate for that. I am not the kind of person who buys protecting sprays for cars. I consider them a waste of money. Additionally, based on how my car has handled certain situations, I have my doubts that it was ever applied.I finally thought my issues were over. I would only have to deal with them for oil changes and inspections. The first time I call to make an appointment for an oil change I am told they dont take appointments, they only do them on a first come first serve basis. Fine. The day I plan to go I call again to confirm it is still a first come first serve basis. I am told yes. I ask what the current wait time is. I am told at the moment there is no line and I can come today. Great.I get there and go up to the counter. I tell them I am there for an oil change. I am immodestly asked if I have an appointment. I say no, I was told it was all first come first serve basis. They reply yes, but our oil change tech doesnt work on Wednesdays so you can come back tomorrow. I respond that I literally just called 15 minutes ago and was told I could come in. They apologize, and say that is not the case and I shouldnt have been told that. Either the person on the phone blatantly lied to me, or there is so little communication that someone in that very service department didnt know they dont do oil changes on Wednesday (which isnt noted on the service hours listed online). Either way, I am done. From the beginning I have been upfront about the fact that I plan to trade my car in for an VW Electric in the next few years. They had a guaranteed second sale of a new car. Literally all they had to do was show an ounce of competency. There are 4 other VW dealers within a reasonable driving distance. I will be taking future business to one of them.
I just have to say Thank you to Justin and Jessica. They worked tirelessly to get me approved. I don’t have such hot credit and they still found a way to give me a low payment only $38 more then what I was paying for a brand new 2020 Jetta. I will be doing all of my car business with Cochran and specifically Justin and Jessica for as long as I live in Pittsburgh.. thanks again guys. You truly are incredible and talented human beings. All the best, Luke
Zero stars. I called and scheduled my vehicle for an oil change and routine maintenance for Monday, April 19th. I was told the appointment time would be entered into the computer for the first thing in the morning. I elected to do this rather than take a day off work to sit and wait for it. I dropped the vehicle off Sunday evening and called to check on it Monday morning and was told they cannot tell me what time it might be done. After not hearing anything at 4:00pm on Monday, I called back again and was told my car never made it into the shop and would be kept ANOTHER day leaving me without a vehicle for two days over an oil change! When I asked to speak to someone in the service department or manager, I was transferred around to 8 different people who could not provide any information or be of any help. Never got to speak to the service manager. Continued to be put through to voicemail and was then transferred to a manager in the Wexford store. My vehicle is at the South Hills Cochran Volkswagen dealership. He obviously told me he could do nothing for me as he wasn’t in the same location. I then began calling the morning of Tuesday, March 20th and still could not be put in touch with the service manager who has not returned any voicemails. I was told he is a “very busy man” and their service department is “very busy” and my vehicle “SHOULD” be done today (Tuesday) after being dropped off Sunday night for an oil change/maintenance. After demanding a better answer, I was informed it should be done around lunch time today and they will get it into the shop shortly. If you are wise, you will not buy a vehicle from this location. Their service is subpar and myself, nor anyone I’ve asked, ever experienced such a thing over a scheduled oil change. I will never take my vehicle here for service again. I asked for the general manager’s information and was told “I don’t know”.
I cannot say enough about my experience with the Cochran VW team! Jessica and Justin were so knowledgeable and helpful. All of my questions and concerns were addressed quickly and efficiently. They helped me find the perfect car within my budget. The amount of features for standard models is amazing! I have worked with other dealerships in the South Hills area that have acted as though my business wasnt important to them or have tried to get me into a vehicle I couldnt afford. Everything about my experience with Jessica, Justin and Caitlin was the exact opposite. I was listened to, never pushed and had a quick and easy purchase. Anyone looking for a great car and excellent customer service should come to Cochran VW!
Absolutely terrible customer service. Dropped my GTI off for repairs and was told that it would be a few days to order parts and labor and they would be in contact with me during the process. It has been 24+ days and counting and have not heard ANYTHING. I have called numerous times and have gotten no answer, have left voicemails...nothing. When I did manage to get through to someone (about the start of the 3rd week without my vehicle) they informed me that it would be ready by the coming Friday or Monday at the latest and they would call when ready. Obviously, those days have come and gone and NOTHING...still waiting on my car.
This comment pertains to my experience with the sales team while purchasing my new Tiguan. I have not yet interfaced with the service team directly.Joe W. and team were really great to work with from the moment I stepped in the showroom. I felt comfortable the whole time, and never once felt pressured during the process. Joe started off by gathering my insights based on my needs, and was thoughtful with his recommendations and providing additional information so that I was informed. Joe checked in frequently throughout the entire buying process, and was really transparent with the costs, prices, and any changes that came up.I requested the addition of ResistAll (interior and exterior protection), and Joe and team went above and beyond to have that ready PRIOR to me closing on the sale and me driving it home. That was so great to not have to have the burden of having to drop the car back off for that work at a later date.I would definitely recommend Cochran VW of South Hills to friends and family.
Manager hung up on me when trying to discuss a purchase and having bank financing.
Hellloooo world. So long story short, bought my zippy little red Jetta from Cochran a few years ago. I bought the EasyCare package and hey, Pittsburgh folks listen up, I have low profile tires and the Pittsburgh and now Cleveland potholes just love eating my tires up! This second one was a doozy, blowing my tire completely, rode home on the spare but obviously my baby needed a new shoe for its foot. Appointment made, even during this COVID madness, the red eagle landed, new shoe put on in a day, aligned and she was ready to go. Im not sure who did the intake of my car, but kudos and also to Mark in Service who kept me in the loop about my baby. Another fine job and Im back on the road. They even matched my new tire to the brand of my other tires! Very nice. Spare was put back like a freshly folded map. Only thing I miss is being able to access that espresso machine in the kitchen / waiting area. Thanks Cochran Service, and also whatever wonderful scented anti-bacterial or car cleaning stuff you used in my interior, I love it, can I buy some? Im a car cleaning fanatic if you couldnt tell by my stash of cleaning supplies hoarded in my tote in my back seat. Stay safe, stay healthy, me and red ride again!
I bought a car from Cochran and have brought it in for an inspection and servicing there several times. Each experience has been great. The staff are friendly, waiting room is comfortable, and the certified pre-owned warranty has covered the only issue Ive encountered with the car.
If I could leave zero stars I would. This dealership, particularly the service department, is full of liars, including the service manager, Justin. We have purchased 2 VWs from there and I can confidently say this was the last time we will EVER buy from Cochran. Because of their convoluted corporate structure, its even more difficult as a consumer to get in touch with someone in charge. I advise steering clear of the organization entirely. Its no wonder that they are so terrible.
I recently relocated to Pennsylvania, I have an Atlas so I was looking for a VW dealership in the area for service. I’ve been driving VW’s for many years and purchased and serviced them at dealerships from Kansas to Florida and now to Pennsylvania.I scheduled 30,000 mile service at this dealership I was approximately 3 minutes late for my appointment and received a less than warm welcome. After waiting for two hours I asked for the status of my car. The service advisor I spoke to initially could not find my car in the system. He asked a coworker who did find it and told me they had the front wheel off my car. No further information was given. I sat an waited for another 40 minutes before my car was brought up then waited for it to be sanitized before I could leave. When I asked what took so long I was told “sometimes you just have to wait.” I might add that I was the only non employee in the waiting/sales area. No sales people said hello either. The time was a bit much for a tire rotation, oil change, and brake flush but the lack of courtesy and communication or customer service was appalling.
Justin, the service manager, was very professional and took care of my car the same day as my appointment and was done by noon. Very good and professional experience. I went in for recall work . The only thing I would suggest going forward for customers. If you could allow them to speak with the mechanic that worked on their car that would be very very nice. Sometimes customers have specific questions of exactly what was fixed with the mechanic and we cannot speak to them. If you can allow us to speak with the mechanics that are working on our car that would be exceptional. With that being said the team up at South Hills Volkswagen is awesome!
I started to go to this service center after Imports by Day closed. At first, I was really happy with the service received, but over the past year or so, not so much. The staff is nice, but when they have time to look at your car, service is hit or miss.Over the past year or so, I have experienced the following issues at Cochran VW at South Hills:- Twice I dropped off my car for an appointment, but was told late in the day that they were unable to work on it and I would have to reschedule.- 3 times I drove off the lot with something either broken or not done, and had to take my car back for follow-up service. 2 of these times I noticed the problem before leaving and brought it up, but was given an explanation about why it wasnt actually a problem. However, when I brought the car back they were surprised I was given my car back in that condition. The 3rd time they just forgot to replace a new required part for the fuel line that they had just replaced.- They did not put a sticker on my car when it was last inspected, leading me to have to get it re-inspected as I failed to notice the error until the following month.- I called to make an appointment for my last oil change, but was told just to bring it in for walk-in express service. When I brought it in (before 8am), I was told that they could not do express service, and asked me to schedule an appointment and come back at another time.I have tried to call to get status updates in the past, but it is difficult to actually talk to someone if they are not calling you. The staff is polite and will answer questions when you can actually talk to them.I am not local to this service center, and it is frustrating to make the drive there, and either have another person make the same drive to pick me up or to take a very long bus ride, only to find out that no work was done during my scheduled appointment time, or to have to return the car due to follow-up issues. I have never had these problems at other service centers for this or previous vehicles. Please note that I am writing this review after receiving an email requesting that I do so after an appointment that I had on Friday, October 23. First off, I couldnt get an appointment for 1.5 weeks due to scheduling software issues and the Service Manager never calling me back.I dropped off my car at 8:30 for my appointment and went home. I received a call after 4pm that they were not actually able to get to my car, and no work was done. I was told that I would need to reschedule, and the next available appointment would be for the following Thursday. As per the email, I reached out to [email protected] to give them a chance to work with me on this before reviewing, but after a week no one from the Customer Care Team has reached out to me. In the meantime, I was able to quickly get the work done by another VW Service Center with no hassles.
The employees at the service center are absolutely wonderful and I have had many great experiences relying on them to service my car. They are accommodating, thoughtful, and experienced. Everything from scheduling to the process of waiting for your car or getting a ride if possible are very streamlined. I highly encourage any VW owners to rely on this center to care for your car. The representatives have always taken their time to explain to me any level of detail necessary to make educated decisions regarding repairs.
Great customer service. They have wifi, restrooms, comfy chairs, and a shuttle and I love the fact that I can purchase parts that I want and have them put them on!
Thought bringing it too a dealership would be a guarantee in satisfaction but pleased to say I will never come back to the south hills location ever..I got work done on my 2010 Jetta a week and a half later I get it back and the check engine light comes back on. First diagnostic required for secondary air ports to be unclogged and cleaned they did that and the day after I get my car check engine light came back on took it back Monday December 29 and the second diagnostic was performed and now supposedly the air pump that was on my car prior to showing up to the dealership the first time was an after market air pump running at 12 amps and not 30 which the car specs require. You would think that all this new information would be on the intial diagnostics that I received the first time but it wasn’t and the intial report was that the air pump was running as designed now it’s not. Just to try and make a long story short I’m out of $900 and have a vehicle with a check engine light on and also I paid for something to be done the right way and it wasn’t. Highly disappointed with my experience and the gentlemen at the service and parts desk was very unprofessional.if there is anyone I can speak to I would love too talk about this.
Last visit 2 weeks ago I had over a 4 1/2 hour wait for car to get in to have inspection and service taken care of, when the appointment i made was for a waiting customer WAIT I DID. Why would i be scheduled if service was backed up? And why would people dropping off after me get out before me? Work was done quickly. Just wish i didnt need to waste my whole day sitting around. In response to your post. I sent an email to the Customer Care team on June 26th. Only posted on here when I got no response from them.
Went in due to a recall on my 2015 Volkswagen Passats airbags and headscrew cap. Was told it would take around 6 hours but they finished in 4! Incredibly professional service and extraordinary customer service. Strongly recommend this place to anyone with a Volkswagen!
Terrible! My family went to #1 Cochran Volkswagen of South Hills for two reasons. 1: We are long time Cochran customers and have always found our experience positive and professional. 2: We were excited about the new Atlas and knew it would work well for our family needs. The experience that were has was the worst. The sales people (Joe the Sales Consultant and Jessica the Sales Manager) were unprofessional and not willing to work for the business. They tried to pressure and rush our decision because of incentives. They wanted to push us into a car that we didnt want. The trade in offer was the lowest of all area dealers. Despite our experience, we put a deposit down to hold a vehicle, but after a ford dealership earned our business through fair and honest dealings, I called for a refund. After 3 days and many messages, I could not get in contact with anyone. On the fourth day I spoke with the Cochran operator, who was able to finally find someone at the dealership who could refund the money. I would NEVER go back and NEVER recommend anyone else do business with #1 Cochran. Very disappointing.
I first leased my new VW this summer shortly after getting a new job (yay!) and just went back for a computer update and for a minor repair of my sunglasses holder. Service was excellent every step of the way. Justin Jones, who assisted with my lease, was very friendly and did everything he could to get me in my price range. Going in for service was easy as can be, everyone was very polite and professional, and I was in and out in just about the time they had estimated for the work needed. As a VW customer you also get emails pretty regularly, checking in on your satisfaction of your vehicle. VW at #1 Cochran in South Hills is definitely a place that puts customer needs and satisfaction first.
Went in for my 1st oil change since buying my car from here, it was complimentary. Very happy about that because I do not remember them telling me when I first bought my car. Was having slow leak with 1 of my tires. They diagnosed it and gave me a quote while doing my oil change. They fix it and informed me 2 other tires are wearing down too. Happy with my service.
My barely 6 month old car was flooded and totaled in the flood of 2018. Daniel and Jess helped me find a replacement for my very specific needs and model requirements to match my totaled car. (Golf Alltrack) Which was already in limited supply and production. They worked with me to get a price that I was comfortable paying after losing my other vehicle. Go Team!I recently had it serviced and while the service was great, the showroom was uncomfortable with worn and broken furniture, and Fox News on the TV. Not relaxing in the slightest. I expected a nicer, better appointed environment to wait for my vehicle.
Good place to get your oil changed and talk VW stuff with the techs and service managers. They all have long tenures with the company so they know their stuff and their customers. They also are pretty loyal when it comes to sending coupons for different maintenance things that help out a lot. Nice area to pull in under a canopy as well.
Service and sales department lack the ability to communicate...my car was hit in the parking lot and the dealership failed to let me know in a timely manner claiming they “didn’t know it was my car.” I picked up my car the day after the incident and hadn’t been notified. Had to do the investigative work myself. I tried calling and emailing to get a hold of the head of the service department and didn’t get a call back for a week and a half.
Very friendly and thorough service.
I have been going to this dealer since I bought my car at the Greensburg location in 2016 and have always been satisfied with Michael Hecker and the technicians. Thank you!
So i had an appointment at 9:45am to get my car inspected and 2 recalls done. When I dropped my car off i told the service guy my passenger seatbelt wasnt working or going in. He tried it and said they would take care of it and i asked him what time my car would be done . He said around 5pm because they were a bit busy that day. I called around 230pm to see if there was an update to when my car when would be done, they said theyd call back and let me know. Three hours later i got a text from the service guy saying that my car wasnt done and they needed to keep it over night so I immediately went there to find out that they didn’t inspect my car because of the seatbelt and didnt have that part in stock and the recalls weren’t done. All in all they had my car for 8 hours and got nothing done at all!!! The service guy did not care did no apologize nothing. This is simply unprofessional and horrible how they treat their customers. So if you take your car there be frank and direct with them from the beginning and try to get a loaner car because they play games and mess around but if you can dont take your car to this place!
My car is a 2019 Jetta, SEL, and the check engine light came on. This is also around the same time as the inspection. I advised, upon arrival to the garage, my appointment was for 9:15 AM EST on 8/5/2020, the rear view mirror also seemed out of its socket. I am a VP at the Bank of New York Mellon and had a few calls to attend before flying to NYC. By 3 PM EST I called the South Hills location to ask on the status of my vehicle. I was told I would receive a call back as soon as the car was worked on. The call, by the time of my flight, was never made. So, I had my 70 something yo grandmother make a call to ask on the status when the technician advised the car was never worked on. On 8/6/2020 I received a call where the team member advised what would be required for a resolution of the issue. I advised I only wanted the engine issue, rear view mirror and whatever worse would pass inspection and that I would bring the vehicle back in for the tires and alignment for which I was advised would need to be fixed at a later date. By 3 PM EST on 8/6/2020 I called yet again since I never received a call back on the status. I was told that the car wouldn’t be done until a date unknown as the part was not in. Mind you, I pay for rental services on the Volkswagen Premium Plan, but was never offered. I asked for the manager and ended the conversation. The manager calls and was extremely haughty. He incorrectly asserted I was blowing the issue out of the water and then scolded me when I called him out for saying such a thing though he assured (in opposition of the advice on the owner’s manual that the car would be drivable). This place is a mess. I get we are in COVID world, but the unprofessional response given by management is unacceptable.
Justin very well manner, not pushey Todd gave me a quote very fair Caitlin very nice explained financing Couldnt Ask for a better team!
This is a really laid back dealership. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and not pushy. Very honest and straight forward about everything. Daniel was amazing and worked with me through the whole process. I bought a certified used car and their maintenance department was very thorough about all of the checks and honest with any flaws. They even honored a lower listing price I found for the vehicle.
I had a wonderful experience on 3/13/2020. I brought my 2015 Volkswagen Jetta in due to a blown fuse, not only were they able to get me a same day appointment but I was serviced in less than 1 hour. I also had a loose bolt on my driver side door that I was worried about and had a few questions regarding my fuel ( gas tank/ mileage), and VW caps for my tires. Not only was Michael H very informative with all of my questions and concerns but he was also very polite with welcoming and addressing everyone that walked through the door. Michael H also went above and beyond to sanitize my vehicle after it was serviced before returning it to me and to top it all off I received a Multi-Point Inspection, Replaced 20A Fuse, and Driver side door tightened COMPLIMENTARY. I want to thank #1 Cochran for the GREAT service.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience purchasing our new SUV, which we love! Dan G. was a tremendous wealth of knowledge and so friendly. Brandon was personable and made the paperwork fun! Jessica was great, too. We highly recommend #1 Cochran Volkswagen of South Hills for a super car buying experience! We know from the past that the service doesnt stop there, which is so appreciated!
I recently purchased a new VW here, and was very impressed with the service. Joshua & Co. were professional, pleasant and engaged through the entire process. They helped me find the ideal vehicle within my budget and never tried to up-sell me. In addition, they found a way to get rid of my old, broken down car I was still making payments on. They were in constant contact about the status of the deal, and promptly returned all of my calls and messages, even though they were very busy. They made a very stressful situation easy as possible on me, worked with me every step, and I felt I had a supportive and dedicated team on my side through the entire process! The time and effort invested in my behalf has earned my future buisness and recomendations.
Mike and his service team were absolutely fantastic. Conversations with them and the work itself was extremely professional. They completed the work the RIGHT way, and kept me in the loop every step of the process.
I will never buy a used vehicle from here again, Ive own the car for 1 year this month. What a terrible experience. Car failed inspection in multiple areas. Obvious things once the vehicle was on the rack, theres no way they could have missed this if they gave it an actual inspection. Blown tie rod, coil, ball joint, rear carriage rusted, rusted brake line, the bladder in the of the tires actually disintegrated. The transmission started acting up weeks after purchasing. AC hasnt worked since buying it. The car was listed as having features it doesnt, such as Bluetooth. The maintenance plan was a waste of money and a huge headache as non of the shops have any record of it. I regret everything about buying this vehicle.
They always take care of me and my car.
The service team was really thorough and attuned to concerns that customers might have about having strangers in their vehicle during the pandemic. Appropriate measures were taken and the service was great as always.
Salesman Justin made our experience perfect, and Lynn handled the clerical work perfectly and made it fun!
Came to the dealer after my family mechanic could not diagnose an electrical issue. After Cochran opted to replace to sensors, they insisted that the wheel bearings were in a dangerous condition and the car is not road safe. At the same time, they claimed that the electrical issue would not be fixed until I pay $700 for one wheel bearing replacement. This call came a day after they said the job was finished! I said no thank you, I will find someone else to do that simple fix if it means finally taking care of the electrical/sensor issue (had family mechanic replace for $340).When the car was picked up, the power steering light was on and the steering was very sluggish. This was NOT on the list of things to fix when we dropped it off and Cochran claimed that it must be a completely separate issue. By the way: the electrical/sensor issue was NOT fixed after a brand new bearing was installed. They also pressured us into paying $680 for an oil leak fix that was never an issue and was not something put on our request sheet. The sensor and steering problem was diagnosed once I brought it to another, more reputable foreign car mechanic. Turns out that the wiring FROM the brand new sensors were clearly corroded and broken away and the steering wheel code that popped up confirmed that as well. Why did Cochran - a Volkswagen dealer that charges top dollar and claims to be experts - not diagnose a clearly visible issue with the wiring? We also could not get the car re-examined without paying $120. I do not recommend going to this dealer for any maintenance, especially if they cannot diagnose a problem with the only cars they work on.
The service staff are always nice and accommodating. They also listen to my remarks and requests. I have had a few emergencies in the past where I needed to get things fixed quickly and they were there. On Easter weekend they even went above and beyond by giving me a loaner car so that I could still visit family while my car was worked on. The location is great for me too. When I am ready to buy a new VW this will be my first stop, but for now they keep my current vehicle in great condition.
Very disappointed with my service visits. Went to service first for a new key and left with my radio not working. Went back to have the radio fixed and this time when I left the sensors on the vehicle were not working. I was told it was unrelated but they were working perfectly beforehand Technicians need to be better with the vehicles computer system
This was a wholly enjoyable experience for something that shouldnt be. I took my car into the shop and it turns out I had a screw in my tire. They were able to fix it without having to replace the tire, saving me time and money. Their lobby was very nice and clean and very relaxing, which was nice because usually trips to the mechanic are anything but. They had free coffee and water as well, which was a great touch. Their staff was excellent and I would definitely recommend.
Daniel Giancola was incredible. He was very professional, knew about the vehicle features, and really put customer service first. I couldnt ask for a better person in sales. To top it off, he was honest, bright, and thoughtful. Someone, give this guy a promotion! Loved my experience at #1 Cochran Volkswagen.
I contacted them for the refund of the easycare program after selling my car. I contacted them via calls, emails, online representatives, even the mails by postal service! The result? NOTHING! They never bothered to respond. Its been two years. Now the contract expired. They really know how to buy time to let this go away. What a way to do business.
Had a great experience with the sales team. However, after the sale was made, this dealership doesn’t care about their customers at all.At time of purchase and prior to pulling the vehicle off the lot, there were multiple imperfections on the vehicle that we pointed out to the salesman. We were told at that time that we would make an appointment to get these problems addressed. When bringing the vehicle home, it was noticed that there were multiple deep scratches on the windshield that are assumed to have been made when someone was removing the wrap upon arrival. On March 5th we were told that they would “make it right”. Well it is now June 9th and after picking the vehicle up from the dealership this morning, they still have not “made it right.”Back on March 5th we were told that they had to order a manufacturer windshield in and once it arrived we would schedule to get it put in as well as the issues with the paint on the vehicle corrected. My husband made multiple calls to service with no return phone call. He had to follow up with the salesman to reach out to service in order to get a return call. We understand that CO-VID caused some delays. He was finally able to get an appointment for June 1st and was told a loaner vehicle would be provided. He was told the windshield would be installed as Safelite would be coming that day and the paint would be fixed. Also, a check engine light came on in our brand new vehicle that needed looked at. Upon arriving at the dealership on the 1st to drop the vehicle off and get the loaner vehicle, he was told that there was no loaner vehicle. He was also informed that they will have to get Enterprise to bring a vehicle and was asked if he had a credit card. After questioning why he needed one, and determining it was needed for a deposit, he then asked how much the deposit was. He was told they have seen it anywhere from $25-$100. Then the service manager, Justin, came out and said it would be $1.00. When Enterprise arrived he was made aware that it would be a $50.00 deposit. The amount was really irrelevant as it was the principle that we had to put a deposit down for something that was wrong with the vehicle when we purchased it, out of our control, and when he was told a loaner vehicle would be provided. The appointment was rescheduled for two days later on June 3rd. He dropped the vehicle off and was provided a loaner vehicle that was absolutely filthy, disgusting and smelled like smoke inside. That afternoon we were told that they ordered the wrong windshield and would have to wait until the following Tuesday to get his vehicle back. After a call was made about how terrible the service we have been provided has been, a windshield was “magically” available that they were going to pick up from a warehouse. They wouldn’t be able to install it until Friday. Then we received a call that they couldn’t install it Friday because of a protest. In the mean time, my husband went and traded the filthy loaner in for a new one. The windshield was put in the vehicle, and the paint job was supposedly fixed. The vehicle was picked up the morning of June 9th. We were told that we will have to bring it back for the engine light because they can’t determine what it is and that we have to wait 3-4 months to bring it back in when a certain VW person was in to read the code and determine why the light is on. The one scratch in the paint was fixed perfectly. The other one, doesn’t even look like it was touched. I reached out and left a voicemail early in the day, and once again received no return call. This seems to be a reoccurring issue as no one here appears to know how to communicate with their customers. I am totally disgusted with the lack of service that we have been offered and am losing my patience with waiting for everything to be fixed. I will never purchase or recommend this dealership to anyone. Getting them to return a call is like pulling teeth. We’ll see if they “make it right, or if we remain on the back burner like it’s been for the past 3 months.
Took my car in at 11am for an oil change. Called at 2pm for an update and got a very rude man who told me he didnt know when it would be done. Called again at 5pm and a girl told me it was finished. Why did it take 6 hours for an oil change that should take 30 minutes?
Terrible Customer service on the auto service side. I made an appointment two weeks in advance for Friday for a state inspection. Showed up at 9 am and they said they would have it done by the end of the day guaranteed. I then got a text from the manager saying it wouldn’t be done until Monday morning Because they couldn’t “get to it”- offered no reason, no apology, and no solution. I would go anywhere else in the south hills before I took my car back here . Nissan down the road will do everything they can do with a top level of customer service.
Friendly. none of the hard sell I have come across in the past.
I bought my new Golf here this week and had a fantastic experience! It was my first time buying a car on my own and I was pretty nervous, and Trent (sales) and Brandee (finance) were both fantastic! They took their time to explain everything and make sure it was within my budget- they really made me feel at ease while buying my car. I absolutely love my new Golf, and Id highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a Volkswagen!
Always a great experience.A little pricey but a great experience nonetheless
Unfortunately Ive had a lot of difficulties with quality of vehicle service over the last year or two
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place blatantly rips you off on services. The staff is rude. They pressure sale you things that are completely unnecessary and force you to wait hours after theyre finished so they can charge you multiple extra hours on labor. Run as fast as you can from this place!! Do not be fooled! They under quote and over charge you. Please look at your receipt, youll find random charges that dont belong on there. Complete CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!
Know what you want before you go to any car dealers. But there is a salesman named Trevor at Cochran VW on Liberty Avenue is a straight Savage. Absolutely helpful, listens to your needs at the same time he is pushing his sale. We had many questions and were not looking to sign today. He worked his politeness and knowledge of his products and I will be returning for financing with an appointment I made with Trevor. Will do test drives and more again he is very well suited to find you a car that matches you, as well as him getting paid. He earns every dollar they pay him, i recommend Trevor to all wishing to buy a VW.
We bought a vw here, the sales staff are some of the best. As are the service staff.Highly recommended. And in full disclosure, I have been in the car business for the past 20 years. So I sincerely hope that I know what I am talking about.
Went with my parents to help them with buying a Tiguan since they dont speak English very well. After looking around the outside of the car, I found some damage on the rear bumper (right corner) and the rear right tire sidewall had a gouge.Brought this up, they said it was included in the price. As-Is, fixing it would increase the price of the car. Looking online at the car, it was clear that the damage isnt shown in the preview pictures, so it likely happened on the lot while they moved cars. The salesman argued that the damage was there the whole time, the pictures tell a different story. The sad part is, my parents were ready to buy with check in hand. However, being treated with the take it or leave it attitude along with the undisclosed damage to the right rear corner/tire was a deal killer. This simply isnt how you sell a product. Make the consumer feel comfortable and address their worries, instead of just reciting a memorized paragraph about how the CPO process reviews the car carefully and everything is checked off. How am I supposed to trust your VW approved review when you didnt even catch the sidewall damage on your own lot?Give them a shot, maybe theyll treat you better. We will be putting our money in someone elses pocket though, since its clear they werent interested in doing anything more than the bare minimum to move inventory.
Great staff bought two cars in 8 months!
Both of my Volkswagens have come here. Friendly service, quality work. The few issues that I ran into were promptly mitigated and resolved. As far as dealers go, this is one of the best VW dealers around. Two others that I frequented have closed down but #1 Cochran seems to still be going strong.
They were amazing! Super super quick with getting me in and getting my car fixed. I drove 2 hours to this shop and will drive 2 hours every single time I need something done with my car! Staff were incredibly friendly and kept my updated on my car. Went above and beyond!
Their salesmen are professional and know the car very well. However, they play dirty on negotiation. We were talking about 1.9% APR, but once I agree on deal, they said they only do 3.9%. I was frustrated and didnt have a clear mind at that time. If I got another chance, I would buy from anywhere else for fair price and rate.Response to reply: others offered 1.9% at that price. I agreed to buy in your store and then the rate was brought up to 3.9%. I dont know why I didnt stand up and leave at that moment. A lot of things going on recently so I just did stupidly.
Ive now purchased two cars from #1 Cochran and each experience was excellent from start to finish. This time around my sales agent was Gabe. He was an excellent throughout the entire process. I will definitely buy from them again!
One star rating seems reasonable.Purchased a VW Tiguan from the South Hills, PA dealership on 11/7/2019.Dan Giancola (Sales Consultant): Detailed when showing the vehicle and seemed knowledgeable. However, the day I was purchasing the vehicle he did not take it off the lot to clean and prep until after I showed up - we communicated prior the exact time and date I was showing up. Also, failed to notify me of a key document (Temporary Auto Identification Card) required prior to processing paperwork.Robert Zawojski (Finance Manager): Explained the paperwork thoroughly. Limited pressure altogether to sell you something additional. Main issue came on 1/17/2020. Robert emailed me stating I had not completed an Ohio VIN Inspection form (since I live in OH) and that I would need to before I can get the vehicle title. Only problem was I had never received that document at the time purchasing the vehicle nor became aware of it until Roberts email. After 4 days of getting nowhere with Robert I contacted another employee in hopes they may be of more assistance. Enter Jessica Cupini.Jessica Cupini (General Sales Manager): Was very helpful in picking up where Robert fell short to get my title work taken care of. She apologized on his behalf and promised to ensure a more thorough process on their part moving forward. After clarification on what additional documents they required she had me send the document USPS Express Mail on 1/22/2020 which I was told I would be reimbursed for - have yet to receive reimbursement from Cochran. As of 2/7/2020 (exactly one month after my vehicles temp plate expired) my county clerks office confirmed that they still have NOT yet received the vehicle documents and title from Cochran.Would not recommend purchasing from Cochrans South Hills dealership unless you enjoy months of hassle and heartburn.- Submitted on 2/7/2020 by Brandon
About 2 years ago, I lost my wallet at my friends wedding. After tearing apart my belongings, I decided to accept that I would most likely never see that wallet again. I was bummed not only for losing the wallet itself, but certainly for what was inside. Yes, credit cards, IDs, gift cards, but also the first hand written letter my fiancé wrote me on a page of loose leaf paper. This past May, I received a Facebook message from two members of their staff, Brian Title and Mike Hecker, explaining they had found my wallet stashed in the seat back of a car after all of this time. I was completely blown away by this news, and simply could not believe it! They mailed me my wallet and it arrived still intact, everything still in there, even my special letter.Brian & and Mike, thank you so much for returning this to me so promptly. No doubt that this company can be trusted - my faith in humanity is completely restored!!!
Selection is very minimal. The parking lot is very small and the selection is very sparse. 99% of the VWs here are made in Mexico. Unless it was a strange coincidence, they seemed to jack-up the price for the ONE car made in Germany. They dont clean any of the cars, inside or outside. All of the cars were dusty and unclean. It was hard to tell the new cars from the used ones! The first brand new car I got into had a used pack of cigarettes wedged in the seat...I was greeted by two people. The first was a very nice lady who was more than willing to help me with anything I needed. After about 20 minutes a salesman came out. He didnt even greet me nor did he even shake my hand. Of course he tried getting me inside to fill out a bunch of paperwork even though I told him that Im just looking around. (Although this is normal for car salesmen so no big deal.)I havent been back since. I would definitely suggest going somewhere with a much bigger selection even if it means going out of the area.
Excellent customer service. They were able to squeeze me in on one days notice to install my winter tires. My vehicle was done early and they were in constant communication with me via text messages. The 20,000 mile service was very comprehensive.
Havent bought a vehicle from them, but the service department is most excellent
Scheduling a service appointment is very easy to do. The service department (as well as the sales representatives) is very friendly and knowledgeable. Each advisor takes ownership of each customer work order. Service is completed on time (usually earlier than stated) and done right. This dealership is #1 in my book!
Great experience buying a car at Cochran Volkswagen! Went in on Saturday morning and from test drive to driving the car home we were there for less than 2 hours. Trevor & Brandee were both great to work with - helpful and friendly but not pushy. And we love the new car!
The severe here can take a while, my car was here for a month for car issues, due to no bay available for 2 weeks then received wrong part. Got it back and still had issue 1 week later had to take it back. Then wouldnt reset itself so it could pass inspection. Had to pay them to reset the engine with the machine then it passed inspection. Spent a lot of my money after everything was done. Staff is nice just service takes a long time.
