Awesome place! Great selection, extremely helpful employees. Knew a lot about getting you set up, no pushing for the most expensive items, more concerned about getting you what you needed. Also have classes for free on casting, knot tying, and other fly fishing related topics. Definitely recommend for anyone who needs fly fishing gear or info!
The fishing manager Rob was the best person I have ever dealt with. My first time ever in an Orvis shop because I have heard how high end they are and figured I didn’t know enough to step into that world. Rob was there to help with all of my questions and helped me find the only rod left in the entire company even when the system showed there were none to be had. Rob even took the time to show me how to tie some new flies that I was asking questions about which I found outstanding. I could not believe the time he spent specifically with me making sure I had everything I needed and was taken care of. Even being in an Orvis shop he did not try to up sell me anything, but fit my needs tailored to my budget. I can’t say enough about my experience and they have a new lifelong customer.
The staff at this store has been incredible each time Ive been shopping here, whether its with help in finding the right pair of winter gloves for me or taking care of an order issue that needed exchanged from their website. While I do enjoy the brand, I keep coming back for the people that work here. The store itself is on the small side and can feel a bit cramped when a lot of people are inside at once, but the layout and décor do a good job at minimizing that feeling in such a small physical location.
Garry and Dave at this store are the absolute best. I was in the store considering a new fly rod and reel. Spending over $1000 on a fly combo is a huge decision to make. Not only did these guys spend A LOT of time with me being indecisive, they made the decision and purchase so much easier. I will say these guys made a customer for life. I ended up going back the next day to buy some flies and again was greeted at the door by Dave. I can’t say enough about how helpful and personable these two guys are. I can’t remember the 2 ladies that helped check me out but again, nothing but amazing from them as well. This store make you feel welcome and it is a personal experience from start to finish. Not a single person is there just to make a sale. Thank you so much Dave and Garry!
They have dog toys that dont squeak!! The staff was amazing and helped me order a toy and send it directly to my moms dog!
Had a terrible experience here. Ordered a chicken wrap (premaid). Came floating in Mayo. Took it up to the counter after one bite and said “sorry, can I get something else, too much Mayo for me.” I asked for a bagel instead. The owner was going to charge me for the bagel and would not credit my sandwich. Poor business practice in a very competitive field.Needless to say, I won’t be returning there. And neither will many of my friends.
Greg is super knowledgeable and never made me feel pressured. He spoke from the point of a fellow angler and made his recommendations as such. I will definitely be back.Bonus fact! The Recon rod in 5wt 9’ is a true joy to fish on with a modest reel and their Pro line.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Quality products.
Discount Applied? No, they lied.Orvis.com applied a SAVE10 discount code to my $100 order, but did not actually use it to change my order total by 10% as claimed. When I called customer service to ask why, they just said sometimes our platform says a discount is applied but it is not actually eligible. Say what? Why would you tell a customer in writing that a discount is applied when it isnt applied? Sounds like a lie to me.
Very friendly staff. Knowledgeable and fun. Not pushy. Nice clothing.
This place is pretty good for fly fishing met the owners they hooked me up lol
Nice store. Sporty clothes. Great staff.
Fantastic place for anyone who loves the outdoors. An awesome array of high quality and durable outerwear. Should be warned that it is a bit pricey but if you are willing to spend the extra money it is more than worth it.
Dog friendly outdoor clothing store. I have quite a few shirts from here and they last very well. They also have top quality fly fishing gear here.
I love the wide selection of home decor items. However the prices seemed a little inflated. I shopped around and found very close items for much less. The location of the store seemsto show that the prices will be aboveaverage. I recommend shopping around.
Purchased a jacked here and could not be happier. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about the jacket and the entire brand. She did everything possible to help me without being pushy. I will definitely return.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of high quality clothing and outerwear with almost all sizes in stock and able to order quickly a size or color not in stock. Very fair prices considering the quality of merchandise. Clean and well organized store. Store is located in the Galleria Mall and near other shopping areas outside of the mall itself. Will return. Highly recommended.
Never been here before.Very upscale place for looking like you walked out of the movie A River Runs Through It. Outdoor shirts, pants, coats, and some really awesome fishing nets beautifully made. Most intriguing was a duck carved from a weathered fence post that took my breath away. This is where Im going to shop when I win the Mega millions. $90 pants.$60 shirts. $80 jeans( I shop at Goodwill, great broke in jeans $6.99). But it was worth going in, just to see. This is where people go that light their cigarettes with $100 bills.
Never had a bad experience at an Orvis store and this one is no different. Excellent customer service and patience when testing rods. Looking forward to my next trip on the water with the new stick.
Quality merchandise at quality price. Flaunting Orvis is like buying a Range Rover knowing it will never fulfill its intended off-road destiny. But unlike Land Rover products, Orvis hunting togs perform and never break down.
Great place with great people. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell.
Very friendly and competent staff. Worth a visit.
A nice store with good products
Sam was very helpful and lent me out a rod while mine was being fixed!!
I was excited to take a Saturday afternoon (45 minute) drive to check out my first Orvis store, unfortunately for me it was made blatantly obvious as soon as I stepped into the store that I was not welcome. There were a group of men sitting at a table tying flies, one of whom seemed to be maybe a manager of sort, as I heard him barking orders to the other employees around the store, I am only guessing at his ranking of manager as none of the employees (to which there were several meandering around the store without a customer in sight) could be troubled to greet me, or ask if i needed anything, or smile at me, or even make eye contact. I had come to pick up some gold beads, some hooks, other odds and ends for some patterns I was looking to tie, and maybe a new 5 weight, as I broke one of mine and have a trip to Montana planned for May. As for the selection of fly tying materials, thats easy to review, as it didnt exist. There was no selection. Now I tie flies like a mad man, I buy beads and hooks by the hundreds and I walked into that store willing and able to drop some cash, but I could not, as there was simply nothing in the fly tying section to buy. I picked the ONE package of 20 gold beads to be had, and stood in front of the dismal, empty racks awe struck and astounded. As I pulled my list of materials I wanted to purchase from my pocket in order to hopefully be able to salvage ANYTHING out of this endeavor, I heard the fly tying manager(?) man bark an order to a young employee under his breath to go see what hes up too.Manager(?) man was talking about me. Notice he didnt say go see if that gentleman needs some help. or see if you could lend a hand to that man notice that he didnt get up himself to ask me if I needed anything. This is because I didnt fit the part of a Mt. Lebanon Orvis shopper, this is because in my haste to find anything worth me buying, as Im hunkered down on one knee trying to find something, anything worth buying, the barking manager(?) man just assumed I was stealing.I had on dirty Carhartts and work boots, I didnt fit the mold, I wasnt welcome and because I looked different I HAD to be up to something. The young employee manager(?) man barked at came to hover over me for a few, watching my hands and what was in them before he haphazardly feigned interest in giving me help he knew he couldnt provide ( he too saw the barren shelves and just sort of shrugged). I felt like Julia Roberts in that scene in Pretty Woman when she has a bundle of money and just wants to spend it, but she cant, simply because she just isnt welcome.I fly fish. I do it A LOT. I tie flies. I tie A LOT of flies. I buy waders and rods and tippet and tools and jacket and ALL the things that go along with the sport that I love. I am 38 years old and I still have decades of fishing and tying left in me. Because of the disgraceful selection in this store today and more importantly because of the way I was TREATED in this store today, for those next couple decades I have left, I will never buy another thing with the Orvis name on it.Store:0632 REG:01 Tran:061743Date:02/02/19 Time 16:33
